Flash Preview

I have had serveral instansces where, when I want to open a
file, the "Creating Flash Preview..." starts and just goes on for
ever.

Hi, I had a similar problem with two different PDF's I
uploaded -- neither was longer than two pages, neither had
graphics, neither was larger than 35 Kb's. After watching the
"preparing Flash preview" roll around for about 15 minutes without
any success on either document, I deleted them both, uploaded them
again, and on the scond go, no issues whatsoever.

  • Flash preview failing on PDF file

I have what appears to be a perfectly valid PDF file for
which Share seems unable generate a Flash preview.
The PDF file was created with a fairly old version of Acrobat
(PDFWriter 2.0 for Macintosh), but displays without error with
Acrobat 8 on Windows XP. When viewed in Share, I see message
"Creating Flash Preview" -- as is typical when a document is first
uploaded -- but the message just stays there, with no preview
    created.
    Here's the link to document:

OK. Open your PDF with Preview and at the top of the window (near the file's title) you will see Locked in grey.
Click on it and in the menu that appears click Unlock.
It looks like this in OS 10.7.3 :
For information you can view the permissions of a PDF file in Preview by choosing in the menu bar Tools > Inspector, and then click Encryption (the lock).
    Hope this will help.

  • Trouble with flash preview of PDF documents, embedding.

Yesterday, I noticed that the embedded PDF documents that I have posted on my blog weren't loading. The message in the embed window reads: 'Unable to Create Flash Preview. Please download to view in the native application.' In Acrobat.com, when I try to open the file for viewing it has a message that says: 'This file cannot be previewed. Please download instead.'
Thinking that there might be a problem with my PDF files, I uploaded a Word .doc, and used Acrobat.com to create the PDF. That PDF wouldn't preview either. I signed into my wife's Acrobat.com account, and had the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated! Cheers, Chris. I will attach a copy of the PDF I am trying to upload and embed, in case there are problems with the file itself (?)

    Michelle-
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. It's weird, eh? I tried the flash update, tried opening everything in FireFox... Same problems. I am attaching a few screencaps so that you can see what it is doing.

  • Print job looks different in html than it did in Flash preview

I have created a .swf that contains several movie clips. I have inserted a print button in each movie clip - and managed to get everything in working order on the Flash end of things. Then I inserted the .swf into a new HTML document in Dreamweaver. So far so good - but when I  preview in the browser and hit the print button in one of the nested movie clips, the output looks different than it did when testing it in flash.
My main .swf has a dark blue background so I used a large white rectangle to act as the background of the movie clips so it would not waste a lot of ink. When I print from the browser, the background is blue and the large white rectangle I see in Flash does not appear.
This is the first time that what I insert in Dreamweaver doesn't match up with my Flash preview. Can anyone help?

I'm still not sure why it looked different when inserted into an HTML file. However, I went back into my flash file and changed the document background to white and added a blue rectangle instead of the blue background with a white rectangle in the movie clip for printing - this seems to have solved my problem.
Thanks to anyone thinking about my problem!

  • Unable to create flash preview

I uploaded a PDF document and tried to embed it in web page
and received the "Unable to create flash preview" error. I have
attached the embed code so you can see for yourself. Using the link
directly to the file worked fine.

Sorry you are having problems. Was the document shared
privately or with open access? Right now there is a bug with the
embedder where it doesn't handle privately shared documents
correctly (e.g., by prompting the user for credentials).
If shared with open access, what is the URL for the document?
    Thanks.

  • Flash preview freezes

    Greetings All.  I'm using a 64-bit windows 7 machine.
This problem just crept up within the past 2 weeks.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash to no avail.  The problem is the same in both Firefox and IE9.
Anyway, let's say I have multiple pop-up chat sessions going that use flash.  So when you hover the mouse over the firefox icon on the taskbar it shows the preview windows of all the pop-up chat sessions and it shows the chats flowing in real-time as it should.  However, if I move the mouse to hover over one of the pop-up chats that is currently one of the background chats (i.e. isn't the one on top) the pop-up chat will come to the top of all the other chat sessions as it should but the animation will freeze in the pop-up chat window but it still moves/works in the preview.  That is, the little preview window that shows all of the firefox pop-up sessions will continue to animate and work as normal (including the one I'm currently hovering over with the mouse) but the main window that's not "on top" of the other firefox browsers freezes.  Basically the little previews work and animate fine but the window I'm hovering over freezes.  As soon as I left click on it and "bring it to the top" it operates fine as do any background sessions.  It's only when I'm hovering over the preview that main window freezes up until I click on it.  I hope this makes sense.
Anyone have any ideas?  Is there some kind of setting I should look at.  The machine is only a little over a year old with a AMD Athlon II X2 235e 2.7ghz and 6Gig of RAM.

  • DW insert flash, previews fine, but will not show on upload

I am trying to replace part of the header of a website with a
simple flash animation swf. When I hit the preview in browser, it
looks fine, but when the page is completely uploaded, there's a big
blank space where the movie should be (I can see the movie fine
online when I go right to the swf file itself, so it's definitely
uploaded correctly). What could be wrong?
Also, even if there is a fix, is there a way I could put a
stationary image file behind the swf so if there's a problem
loading the swf for others as well, they will at least be able to
see an image? I thought I might do it using 'background', but
adding that code makes the entire page scroll to the left, and I
don't know why (there is already a background image so the menu bar
can scroll with the page length).
I am a complete novice in CSS, so if there's a code I could
use could you please tell me what it is? Thank you very much for
    any help!

  • Multiple problems with different programs (Prezi, Flash, Preview, Cobook) and permissions

All of a sudden my MacBook Air with Os X Mavericks is going crazy. It all started when all my premissions went crazy. All of a sudden I would not be able to acess programs and files. I solved that by resetting all permission on Finder. Soon after Cobook disappeared and would not load my ICloud contacts. I fixed it, but soon after I realized I could not update Flash Player. I tried any tricks I could find online, but the only way out was to reinstall Mavericks (not a clean install, though). Now, I have Prezi that is not working under Safari and the desktop app (while working with Firefox). Also, Preview is unable to show my loaded signatures.
I perfomed a clean install, but then reloaded from a backup all applications. The issues are still there. I cannot figure out what is wrong

Some of your user files (not system files) have incorrect permissions or are locked. This procedure will unlock all your user files, reset their ownership, and remove their access-control lists. If you've set special values for those attributes, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Back up all data.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked
Allow user to administer this computer
Then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Works in Flash preview, but not on webpage?

I'm using this code to externally load a .swf into my site. I made sure all the files were uploaded. I'm sure, because I can even find the .swf on the site, it just won't show up on the main page. (for example, I can find it at www.mysite.com/flashfolder/animation.swf, but not in it's place at www.mysite.com)
    Here's the code I'm using:
    createEmptyMovieClip("anim", 0);
    anim.loadMovie("animation.swf");
    anim._x = 156;
    anim._y = 515;
It's inserted into the actions panel of a new layer in the main Scene 1 timeline in my .fla project. It works when I preview it (ctrl+enter), but when I upload everything to the site, it doesn't show up?
Anyone know what may cause/why this is happening?
Thanks for your help in advance!

Is the file that is loading animation.swf also in the same folder?

  • Flash preview frame rate

When you do a publish preview does it run at the actual frame
rate of the movie? I am working on a file that previews correctly
but when I publish the .swf things seen to be running faster.
I should mention that I am using some flashLoaded components,
but why should that matter. I thought the preview & the
finished swf were one in the same.

I have since discovered that my slow down/speed up issues
seem to be caused by the large flv file I have playing as a looped
    background.

  • Color 1.0.4 on Mavericks- preview flashes

    Hello,
I have FCS 2 on Mavericks installed and evything works fine except preview in Color 1.0.4
During playback or color correction preview flashes- I have only this one issue (I don't use qmaster so doesn't working pref pane is not issue for me)
Have you solution for this flashing preview in Color on Mavericks?
I don't want to buy and use Adobe Speedgrading because it's poor software

Color 1.0.4 isn't supported on Mavericks. That's 6 year old software on an OS that Apple made without making sure that FCP Legacy worked on it.  Zero testing.
Solution...back up your files, reinstall the OS that works best with Final Cut Studio 2, then install all your apps. If you use this software to make a living, don't update the OS unless it is fully supported.

  • Help...LR3 flash gallery preview not working.

Oddly enough, I had a similar problem with LR3b2, but solved it by allowing lightroom to connect to the internet (saving that setting on the firewall), but now that I've purchased LR3, the flash gallery preview is NOT working.
    I've tried the following:
    Switching from flash to html
    using different flash templates
    using different "airtight" options
    rebooting the computer
    reinstalling/repairing LR3
making sure I have the latest flash installed (I do)
    Other things odd with it:
Product registration kept telling me that I was either not connected to the internet (and I am), or that the server is not accessible. Ok, so I try through adobe.com and it says the brand new serial number is already registered. So did it or did it not?
Further, I then tried using the F1 for help, and it said that help was not properly installed.
These problems I had before AND after the different options I tried, deliniated above. Can someone help me figure this out please?
And yes, exporting does work, and it exports fine, but the problem is in the preview.
Did Adobe put out a buggy installer?

    UPDATE:
After a lot of rebooting, reinstalling adobe acrobat, flash, lightroom, and a lot of other trouble shooting typical actions, the Flash preview is now working.
The strange thing is, when I load the program, it tells me the catalog is being used by another program, and that I have to use another catalog...some of my settings are erased when I copy/paste the catalog and use the new one, but I don't know which program could be using a lightroom catalog (it's the only LR I have).

  • How can I get a Flash Slideshow to show in a browser?

Running Mac Leopard, CS3. Created a simple Flash slideshow using the Modern Photo Slideshow Template. Placed into DW page as dynamic Flash element. Slideshow is 2 photos, and uses manual buttons only. When viewed in DW preview only the first frame shows and buttons don't work (when viewed in Flash preview, it works as expected). When viewed in browser, nothing shows (although the space is visible), unless I turn off Javascript in the browser; then the first frame shows but nothing else works.
I've tried this with 4 different browsers and DW, and all work the same way. What am I missing? Any help appreciated.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','<?php echo $row_rsDispatches2['Image']; ?>','width','450','height','350','src','photos/<?php echo $row_rsDispatches2['Image']; ?>','loop','false','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash','play ','false','movie','photos/<?php echo $row_rsDispatches2['Image']; ?>' ); //end AC code
    </script><noscript>
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="<?php echo $row_rsDispatches2['Image']; ?>" width="450" height="350">
      <param name="movie" value="photos/<?php echo $row_rsDispatches2['Image']; ?>" />
      <param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="PLAY" value="false" /><param name="LOOP" value="false" />

    </object>

If turning off the javascript makes the file at least appear, then that part of the problem likely means the AC_RunActiveContent.js file is not where it needs to be (if it is not coded directly into the html page).  In the head of your html page should be some indication of where that file needs to be (if it is not coded into the head section directly).  Turning off javascript is forcing the <noscript> section to load the file.
As for nothing working anyways when you view it in a web page, it may be because of the location of the file.  Your code indicates that the swf is located in a folder named photos.  If that swf loads the images dynamically from that same folder, then the problem arises when you load the swf into a file in a different folder.  Once the swf is planted into a file in a different folder, that folder becomes its frame of reference for loading content dynamically.  So if the swf originally loaded files using targets like...image1.jpg, image2.jpg, etc.... when it is placed into parent folder's file, it needs to target them as if it actually lives in that folder using... photos/image1.jpeg, photos/image2.jpg, etc...

  • Get URL from embedded Flash AS3 movie

I have a thumbnail scroller app built with AS3 on my website
homepage. I have the class files but would like to know of any
quick workaround to make the embedded Flash movie clickable without
reworking the AS3 files. What I would like to do is if you click on
a thmbnail or anywhere in the movie, the "portfolio" page loads. I
asume this would use javascript? Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

I notice that when I click on the thumbnails in the browser,
a "0" appears on top of each thumb. When i test in Flash preview
    clicking on an image generates:
    Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL

  • Simple blur filter works on gpu/cpu but not flash

I'm trying to make a new blend mode for Flash that will blur the pixels behind the source image.  The filter works correctly when testing with the cpu and gpu, but in Flash the blur effect does not work, it simply crossfades the source image  and background image.  Can anyone explain why this won't work in Flash?

Knowing that this also does not work in your flash project helps. As for the ordering problem, I believe the toolkit orders the input images in z-order according to the order in which the inputs are declared in the filter with the frontmost displayed image being the first image declared in the filter. The Flash preview appears to reverse that order. I believe this choice is being made on the Flash runtime side. Kevin may be able to provide more insight. Regardless, it would be nice if the behaviors were identical.
