Flash Pro CC Shrinks File Size

Hello.
I'm new to Flash Pro CC, but I like what I'm seeing with the trial version. I'm starting to learn how to create Flash enabled sites with optional HTML5 ability.
I have a 30 megabyte .fla file that I'm converting to an HTML5 Canvas using the command in Flash Pro CC. However, when I do that, it shrinks the file size by half and makes it run slow in a browser. I believe the file shrinking is what's causing the problem.
Is there any way to stop the converting feature from shrinking the file size?
Thanks

Hi,
I don't see the Issue happening. As Kglad mentioned changing the stage size is working absolutely fine.Is it happening with a particular document?? If so, could you please share the document where it is consistently reproducible.
Thanks,
Sangeeta

  • Adobe Flash CS5 generating SWF file size more then fla file?

Adobe Flash CS5 (Same file when open in CS5 and published)
    Index.fla file size: 183 KB

  • Logging software - shrinking file size and keeping timecode

I recently found and downloaded the trial version of InqScribe Transcription Software (http://www.inqscribe.com/index.html).
It seems pretty neat. You can open up and video file in the program and it read the timecode from the file and inserts it into transcript as your typing. It says it can open ANY type of video that Quicktime can view.
Here's my dilemma - I want my clients and producer to use this program to log footage on their PCs out and about. I"m shooting with the Sony NX5 and transcoding to Pro Res LT. Obviously these files are HUGE.
I'd like to find a way that I can shrink the file sizes and keep the original timecode. I thought h.264 would be best. I can also shrink the resolution from 1920x1080 down to something much smaller.
I'm looking for an end product that is compatible with PCs and Macs, around 500mbs or less, and has the original TC.

Resize to 480x270. The data rate before compression will be 1/16 of the 1920x 1080 image. Add H.264 Quicktime compression and you'll have a small file. Verify with the company that it can read h.264 files.
When you do the conversion use Compressor and turn off Frame Controls when you do the resizing. The encoding will go much faster.

  • Pro*C/C++ File size limit

Is there hard limit on the size of .pc file for
    Pro*C/C++ in AIX .
Our problem is proc compiler on aix machine
is dumping core when trying to compile proc source file
    more than 2000 lines.

The Pro*C/C++ Programmer's Guide contains the following on file size limits:
Pro*C/C++ cannot process arbitrarily long source files. Some of the variables used internally limit the size of the generated file. There is a limit to the number of lines allowed; the following aspects of the source file are contributing factors to the file-size constraint:
    * complexity of the embedded SQL statements (for example, the number of bind and define variables)
    * whether a database name is used (for example, connecting to a database with an AT clause)
    * number of embedded SQL statements
To prevent problems related to this limitation, use multiple program units to sufficiently reduce the size of the source files.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 file size limits?

Hi a friend needs to create a 37hr uncompressed AVI file (by combining an avi of pictures and mp3 of audio of a performance) and is wondering if it can be done using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014, ie are there any file size limits? Any comments much appreciated.

Would be interesting to know how you are going to store that. 37 hours of HD uncompressed in an AVI wrapper requires around 24 TB of free disk space on a single volume. That means you would need  something like 12 x 3 TB drives in Raid6 + 1 HS, requiring at least a 16 port raid controller for those 13 disks, just for the output file. Due to fill rate degradation, that is cutting it thin. Additionally at least a X79 or X99 motherboard with 2011 socket is necessary.
Next question is, who would be crazy enough to marathon-watch 37 hours of a performance?
You may consider another workflow, not uncompressed and not 37 hours.

  • Adding Click Tags to Flash and also reducing file size?

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to add a Click Tag to a Flash movie?
I have the file finished but they require Click Tags added to each file.
Also my file is currently around 100kb and they need it under 30kb (last time they got someone to reduce my file to 30kb from 110kb), so Im sure this can be done but not quite sure how. I am using Flash CS4,
    thanks,
    Paul

I would recommend going to 15 if you are going to play with frame rate.
If you want to know how data rate effects the size
double-click the setting for your movie
    look at the inspector
Under the summary tab compressor show you how big the file size will be at _ data rate etc.
Changing the data rate will be reflected here.
When a client doesn't want a file over 15mb I use this tool to know and understand how data rate and other settings effect the overall file. This works for h.264 but may not be the same for every setting.

  • Problems Shrinking File Size

Hi, I'm using Elements 7 and I've got JPEGs from my Canon G12 with an original file size of approx 1.5 MB. I'd like to post some of these on a website with a file size limit of 150 KB.
My current method (and the only one I know of) is to do the following:
    File
    Save As
and then slide the quality slider to the left until the file size indicator reads  below a 150 KB. Some of my images will not go below 150 KB without radical cropping. Apart from setting the camera to take less detailed images to start with, is there anything else I can do to shrink my images for web publication.
    Tim

You could use File->Save For Web, which pretty much does the same thing. With File->Save for Web, you can also reduce the number of pixels in your image (not cropping, but shrinking the photo) which might get you the results you want.
But those are the only methods.

  • Cs5: upgrading from CS2 to CS5 PC to Mac...need help shrinking file sizes

I am designing wallpapers for cellphones and was given very specific guidelines of various dimensions and file size (based on the different devices), 96 dpi, and PNG format. When working on my PC using Ps CS2, I would drag or copy/paste images from AI (CS I think) into PS. I found that the file size was lower when doing that. I would then do a "save as", and successfully keep to the given specs.
When I tried this on my Mac, using an image that I previously saved on my pc as a test, the file sizes were always over what they needed to be. I can't seem to figure out what the difference could be. I couldn't do a "save for web" because the dpi would come back as 72 when the file is opened. I tried that once and I was told to re-save the images again...and each image is saved over 100 times.  My PC went down and I've not been able to continue the work since.
Does anyone have a clue what I can do to fix this? I am totally baffled at this point. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

I'm on PC/Windows 7. I had enough issues getting CS2 installed on Windows 7, but it can be done. I just wanted some assurance that Dreamweaver installation doesn't remove GoLive. Thanks!

  • Export to Flash and keep the file size small!

Clearly Keynote has a major bug when exporting to Flash. The files become very large, about 10x larger then the combined size of the JPEG's inserted. Earlier today I discovered how to get around this issue, albeit a far from perfect solution. Simply open each picture used in Photoshop and use the "save for web" menu. Save each image as GIF, 128 colors and rebuild the Keynote presentation. Although a color rich picture saved as GIF versus a reasonable compressed JPEG is x 3 or x 4 times larger the end result when exporting the Keynote to Flash is substantially smaller. Apparently Keynote exports to Flash without adding size when GIF's are used. Apple, please fix this "JPEG export" bug!

    Hi Gopal,
You can get the components in your internal table using the below code-
    lo_struc_descr ?= cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_data( <fs_line> ).
        lt_components = lo_struc_descr->get_components( ).
    * Insert the component names in the start of the file
        LOOP AT lt_components INTO ls_components.
          IF lv_string IS INITIAL.
            lv_string = ls_components-name.
          ELSE.
            CONCATENATE lv_string ls_components-name INTO lv_string
            SEPARATED BY cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab.
          ENDIF.
        ENDLOOP.
Here <fs_line> is a work area. Basically we are getting all the fields in the internal table and writing their names in the start of the file.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Shrinking File Size

I made this 5 minute promo video that I threw on DVD for my friend but the person he gave it to wants it in CD format also. The size of the video is 745mb and i need to shrink it down so were it can fit on a CD-R. I know how to do this but everytime I try to play the video on a pc it says the codec is missing so I was wondering what do I do so it can play with no problem.

What codec are you using? There are certain ones that will only play on a mac. I would try something like sorenson 3 or H.264 if you want it to play on a mac and a PC. Also you can google something like "supported quicktime file types on a PC".

  • Preview.app increases PDF file size.

When making changes to a PDF (in my case, creating annotations), Preview.app will increase the file size of a PDF if that PDF was run through Acrobat Pro's "Reduce File Size" process. For example, I have a PDF that I created using a Book2Net book scanner. I then used Acrobat Pro 10 to OCR the file, then ran Reduce File size which shrank the file size from almost 1.6gb down to about 62mb. If I use Preview.app to make an annotation and then save the file, Preview.app will inflate the file back up to 1.6gb.
An earlier thread (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1478588?start=0&tstart=0) also discusses a similar issue. I'm not sure if those folks were also working with PDFs that were reduced in size by Acrobat Pro or not.
    Anyone else have this issue?
    10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro.

That is not normal. same action with acrobat and skim do not do this. Changing file size from 170mb to 780mb (my case) should not be expected.
Preview re-formats the file (which takes a while the first "save"). It may even make scrolling and searching for text faster, but is not desirable all the time.
There is NO explanation from Apple in help or online. Keeping things simple is one thing, having unexpected and unexplained behavior is another.
Last preview update made it pretty much useless for annotations anyways.
Choosing "text" annotation used to allow for clicking anywhere on the pdf and start typing. Now, it automatically creates a text box at the center of page that has to be the dragged (and make sure not dragging other annotations with it). click T multiple times, multiple text boxes on top of each other.
I never thought I would look at Windows users with jealousy. What a bad job they are doing.

  • Projector and dir file size grow 7X unexpectedly - dcr remains the same.

I’m updating a Shockwave project that is also available
for download (so size matters and I’ve got a dcr and exe of
the same project). Last year the file sizes were as follows: dir =
    933kb, dcr = 203kb, exe = 4,857kb … all reasonable. I started
with last year’s file, eliminated numerous redundant scripts
and cast members (including an unused font), combined the
functionality of scripts that were similar, streamlined the
operation of other scripts, updated some internal data, replaced
the one and only bmp with a new one for this year (same size),
saved and compacted … and for all my effort to clean up this
    year’s version I get the following: dir = 33.9Mb, dcr =
224kb, exe = 37.5Mb The xtras are an obvious suspect but I went
down the list and they’re the same as last year, the only
outside xtra being POM (which hasn’t changed since 2006) I
recompiled last year’s project and the sizes were still
reasonable, so Director isn’t broke. Anyone know what's up?
PS: I made a dummy copy of this year's movie, elminated
everything (all sprites, all cast members, all xtras), save and
compact, and the dir file is still 33Mb?!?!?
PPS: Well, I copied everything into a fresh document, spent
about an hour making sure scripts not attached to sprites didn't
get left behind, re-attached the required xtras, and now I'm back
down to a 4.4Mb projector but I'm not sure why.

Thanks Mike. The odd thing is the results above were after a
“save and compact” (as a matter of habit I always
compact). Even with everything stripped out of the file I
couldn’t get Director to jettison whatever garbage had gotten
lodged in. On the plus side, moving the cast and score to a fresh
document not only cured the problem but also allowed me to
eliminate some legacy xtras that were no longer being used (this
project has been updated yearly since 2002).
PS: Flash's memory and file size audit report is really nice
for trouble shooting this kind of problem, it would be nice if
    Director gets the same feature.

  • Adobe flash does not work on bootcamp windows 2002 xp. down loaded to windows. works with Mac. No program folder for such. shows up in "add delete programs" (in setting) but without a file size. I have a MacBook Pro purchased new in June 2010.

Using bootcamp (windows 2002 xp) I down loaded adobe flash player from the windows platform. told me it installed successfully. however does not work in windows, does works in mac. in xp there is no created program folder for such or created short cut. In the control panel (xp) in add/delete programs it is listed but wihout any file size or frequency used. I've deleted & reinstalled numerous times. Mac OS is 10.6.8. Windows is 32 bit. Can't find a thing that discusses this. THANKS!

  • Premiere Pro CS4: Exporting to High Quality SWF with Low File Size

Adobe Program: Premeire Pro CS4 (to build slide show video)
Adobe Program: Adobe Media Encoder (to export project into flash file)
Project Details: A 20 minute slide show with still images and audio.
Project Source: HDV 720p, 29.97 fps
Objective: Export slide show into a flash file so it can be watched online. The file must be small enough for most people to be able to stream the video but good quality (like videos found at Hulu.com).
Problem: I'm struggling to find an export setting that will let me maintain both good quality and a small file size.
The export setting that allows the best quality is:
    Format: FLV / F4V
    Preset: F4V - HD 720p
    File Size: 800MB
Troubleshooting History: I have tried the following Presets:
    F4V - Same as Source
    F4V - 1080p Source, Half Size
    F4V - 720p Source, Half Size
    F4V - 720p Source, Half Size, VBR 2pass
F4V - Web Large, Widescreen Source
While the file size is much reduced with these Presets, I lose too much video quality.
Inquiry: Does anyone have advice for meeting my listed objective?

I understand that if you want a smaller file you must sacrifice quality and if you want better quality you must expect a larger file size. I am looking for a solution in between the two extremes (again, I draw on the example of Hulu.com). Mainly, I am looking to reduce the file mentioned above from 800MB to about half that.
Does anyone know a way to manipulate the export settings to make that possible and still maintain as high a picture quality as possible?
