Flash Professional 5.5 Pencil tool line problem

Hello, and thanks for helping me with my problem. I am currently using flash professional 5.5. I just started having this problem lately where when I go to draw a line with the pencil tool, the line will completely mess up and be unsmooth. Even if the smoothing is set to 100, if i draw a line, it will never be smooth and sometimes it will not even look like line. My lines have random tapers in the middle of them, even if the line was drawn with one stroke. It's getting very annoying and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix it. I am using a wacom bamboo tablet to draw these lines, so I am not sure if it is the tablet or flash itself, that's why I decded to see if anyone else has had to deal with this problem before. If you can tell me how to fix this, I will extremely appreciate it, it's driving me nuts!

Are you sure that you have the line smoothing option selected in the bottom of the tool bar? You might try re-installing the wacom driver, or delete the Flash preferences.

Hello I have been trying to fix a problem with the brush tool I found out about recently. [ I have a graphic tablet/drawing tablet ] Every time I have the brush tool selected, and try to write something a line is drawn on the canvas. Flash professional CS5.5 text tool causes crash?

has anyone had this problem? No matter how I select to use the text tool, it freezes the program and crashes it. I am on a deadline and phone support cannot help me. I am running on a 64bit machine, and have looked everywhere for a solution to this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Flash Professional CC Magic Wand Tool not working

Simple problem. The magic wand tool wont select anything. There is a little "STOP/NO" on the icon though (The circle with a cross through it). Don't know what's wrong.

I have a Wacom Intuos5 Touch and use a Wacom mouse with it (in addition to the standard Grip Pen). My problem is worse than the original poster. I have this problem with both my pen and my mouse. The pen is in "pen mode" and the mouse is in "mouse mode," but the problem exists in both modes for both input devices (yes, I tested my mouse in "pen mode," it's not something I'd recommend).
I have no idea what to do about this. I work in 2D film/TV animation, and this renders Flash CC 2014 completely useless to me and my colleagues.
These were "drawn" with a mouse in mouse mode, and a pen in pen mode. The angle and offset of the error seems to depend on the canvas zoom level, but is otherwise random-ish, changing to a random angle, keeping it for a while, then changing it again. I run a multi-monitor setup, and when I move the Flash window from the right-side monitor to the left-side monitor, the direction of the offset flops. It always points up, and toward the center of my two monitors, as if it were a application scaling problem (Windows' DPI settings have been known to cause this kind of problem with some applications, but my setup uses 100% scaling so that shouldn't apply).
I suspected that the angle might have something to do with the rotation angle of my mouse (the Wacom tablet tracks that information), but couldn't get reliable expected behavior when I tested it out.
This whole nonsense reminds me of an error that plagued applications built using the Qt4 framework (such as the VLC video player), which had similar "hit area" problems for Wacom devices (pen and mouse) due to an improperly implemented pen input API (it was fixed in Qt5 by dropping support altogether and treating all input devices as mouse input), but I can't imagine that's what's happening here.
Of course, Flash is registering the initial contact point before flinging it across the screen, so it's a big mystery, and frustrating me to no end.

Flash Builder Errors When Editing a Flash Professional File

I'm having lots of problems trying to use Flash Builder 4.51 as my code editor from Flash Professional CS5.5. My immediate problem is a constant stream of pop-up "Problem Occurred" dialog boxes in Flash Builder which make it impossible to do any work.
The message specifics vary a little but the title bar says "Problem Occurred" and inside the dialog box it says '[something] has encountered a problem." The [something] varies but is commonly "Finding occurrences" even though I'm not trying to search for anything at the moment. If I click the Details button the additional info is something like:
An internal error occurred during: "_imageWidth".
java.lang.NullPointerException
Right now, I'm trying to find all references to a specific variable, _imageWidth, so it says:
'_imageWidth' has encountered a problem.
An internal error occurred during: "_imageWidth".
When I click OK the dialog goes away and 0 references are reported but that is wrong. The var does exist and there are references. A few seconds after clicking OK the same error box pops up again. I click OK and a few seconds later it's back. Like I said, it's impossible to get any work done.
If, instead of searching for references, I do a text search the error is 'Finding occurrences' has encountered a problem. Again, the error dialog pops up incessantly.
This is in a new Flash Builder 4.51 workspace with only a single project. Here is the procedure I used to create it:
Create a folder inside my workspace
Copy Flash Professional .FLA file and its associated ActionScript classes into the project folder; change the Flash Pro publish settings to permit debugging
Create a new Flash Builder Flash Professional project in that folder, targeting the FLA file
Create a Debug Configuration targeting an existing HTML file in the folder
With this procedure I'm able to edit and debug from Flash Builder for a few minutes. But before long an onslaught of popups begins. At that point, there's no way to accomplish any work. Restarting Flash Builder doesn't help either.
Is there any way to make this work?

Found a workaround. The dialog is not modal so I just dragged it over to the other monitor and I can ignore it. A new message is added to it every few seconds but I don't pay it any attention.

Jittery lines when drawing with pencil tool in Flash

When drawing with the pencil tool using an Intuos Wacom tablet, the lines are jagged and create several points along the jagged line, making the pencil tool unusable. Does not occur with any other program. Using Flash CC Pro 2014.

What is mode of pencil you have set to draw like straihgten ,Smooth or Ink ,and if it smooth mode what is the smothing value you have set .

Flash Professional CC - Tool Crashes

When I click on the pencil or brush tool it crashes. My flash professional CC starts up fine and my computer is powerful enough to work it as my old one had much lower specs (using a Geforce 840m and i5 processor). Can someone help me fix this problem!!!

Lines with pen or pencil tool are choppy

I NEVER had this problem since i been using AI, 3 years.
i am using like pen, or pencil tool. doesnt matter which one, when i draw a line, they line becomes all choppy. put it this way, is pretty much looks like pixelated, it doesn't give you the smooth look that you would get with vector.
the problem is persist when i have like red line one black background.
any suggestion what the problem might be?

What screen resolution are you using? Do the lines print correctly?
If the lines do print correctly it looks as if your problem might be to do with your Display settings in System Preferences. Mine are set at 1680 x 1050 with Colors as Millions. This gives a very smooth rendering.

I looked up that case number and watched a recording of you working with the agent and am not convinced that what you are seeing was necessarily because of the graphics card.
This is my interpretation and thoughts around what you were seeing. I noticed that you were working on an image that took up a fair amount of the screen when viewed at 16.7% zoom. This means it was a pretty large image. Next, I noticed you were using the pencil tool with a tip that was 4 pixels.
I think the combination of these two things was the reason the pencil tool was appearing choppy or to fade in and out when drawing. This occurs because you are using such a small size and are zoomed out so much that the lines are barely visible. When you zoom out the program resamples the appearance. This resampling can cause detail to be lost and the appearance to vary depending on what zoom level is used, 16.7% is particularly bad with fine details.
I think there would be two solutions, use a different zoom level to get a better view or use a pencil with a larger size.

Flash CS5 Pencil tool help

Is the a problem with flash cs5's pencil tool because the smoothing button is greyed out is it my syatem ?

If you click the Pencil Mode tool which looks like an S, you should see the option for Straighten, Smooth and Ink. Click on Smooth and you should then be able to use your Smoothing button.

Question about pencil tool in Flash CS4

The thing that I am having difficulty with is the pencil tool.It does not render a line as I draw it but only after I release the mouse. How do I correct this?

Thanks, but I use publish/export settings with GPU hardware acceleration and flash version 11.2 (and 11.8) but nothing happening.
And why gif file is not all transparenty then I insert on lightblue background? It can't export good quality? Also I use Photoshop, After Effects, Adobe Edge Animate. And nothing happening. Problem installing Flash Professional CS6

Hi,
Would you be able to advise.
At present I`m looking into building a network deployment of windows version CS6, that we can install on our teaching machines here next year.
It`s the Design and Web premium version that we'll be making available.
Everything seems to install correctly expect Flash Professional CS6.
Install fails for this with the following error at the end of the log file.
This is happening on multiple machines.
I really can`t see how this could be a problem with the machines as all other products install correctly.
I`ve tried disabling virus checker and also ensured that software is run with Admin Rights.
Also this happens from both the install media and a download of the Flash CS6 media from your site.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this.

Problem: Custom Flash Professional Component

Hi,
I just installed a copy of Flash Builder 4.5, and am attempting to create a custom "flash professional component" in the Design mode of an mxml project. The documentations mentioned that in order to create this component, I have to press on the 'Create in Flash Professional' button in the properties window.
Here's the problem: clicking on the button brings up a window to name the component, then clicking 'create' brings up Flash Pro, but that's about it. I was told an edit window will show up in Flash Pro, but it doesn't happen. Flash Pro just initializes into the start page and does nothing else.
Am I doing anything wrong? Please help, thanks in advance!
