Flash professional cc won't open??

hello! i recently returned to flash with an interest in animation and was surprised to find that adobe had changed a lot since i last used their programs (flash cs5).
i downloaded adobe creative cloud, and installed flash professional cc, under a free 30 day trial. creative cloud says flash is up to date.
my issue is this: the program will not open at all! I click on it, and the loading image appears in the middle of my screen, but then it disappears after loading and nothing else happens. Flash.exe runs in my task manager, but i get no window or anything. i've tried everything i can think of and i'm very frustrated over all this!
has anyone had a similar issue, or does anyone know what i can do to fix this? I'd prefer to not reinstall it as i am under a deadline, but if i must then i will :S
my computer is running windows 7.
thanks in advance if anyone can help me out!

suspend av and antimalware, right click your exe and click 'run as administrator'.
if that fails, reset your preferences -

  • Macromedia Flash Professional 8 won't Open

    Hi,
A few weeks ago I had no problems using Macromedia Flash
Professional 8. However, recently I moved and when I got to my new
place, Flash Professional 8 would not open. When I try to open it,
the splash screen appears and when the loading messages get to
"Initializing Fonts", the standard Windows crash window appears.
The one that says "Flash 8 has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell Microsoft
    about this problem ..."
I thought that maybe I have some corrupt fonts, but all of
the fonts seem to be okay. Maybe I'm not testing them correctly.
Also, for some reason, iTunes no longer works either.
I have tried reinstalling both programs and the error box
still appears. Honestly, I have no idea what to do for here. Any
suggestions, at all, are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks for the help!

  • Flash Professional CC won't launch

I'm running the free trial version of Flash Professional CC on my laptop (I'm running windows 8). I started the trial monday and this morning it wouldn't launch but put up this error message:
Adobe Flash CC Has Stopped Working
A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I've tried signing out of the creative cloud account and then signing back in.
I've tried uninstalling flash and reinstalling it.

I tried signing out of cloud and opening flash, but it still won't launch.
I checked the file in appdata\Local\Temp\oobelib.log and didn't find 'validation failed' when I ran a search.
I should add that I went back to the store where I bought my laptop and they told me that the free trial version of flash wasn't compatible with windows 8, but if I bought Flash that would take care of the problem. I came home and found this document on the compatibility of Flash with Windows 8.1 and so I upgraded my OS to 8.1 and reinstalled CC and Flash CC (free trial version). I ran into the same problem.
The explanation I got at the store doesn't make sense! I was able to run Flash for three days before this happened.

  • Flash Professional CS4 Won't Install

I recentally bought Flash Professional CS4, however the CD will not install. It will not even bring up the installation process. I am using an external driver and AutoPlay appears telling me that I can either Import Pictures and Video, View Pictures, or Open Folder to View Files on my Flash CD. Is there any way to install it?

See the technotes on the "Installation Help" tab at

  • Flash CS4 file won't open in CS5

I have tried Adobe support with this but their response was as helpful as a hole in the head. I am hoping someone here might be able to help or seen this problem before.
I have a fla file which opens, save and compiles perfectly in Flash CS4 but when I open it in CS5 it crashes Flash with the below error report. I have tried this on multiple machines all resulting in the same error message.
I have also tried saving the file in CS4 under a new name, did a compact and save and a magic spell. Neither of which had any effect.
Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

PS: If anyone from Adobe is reading this... given you are charging a premium for Master Collection here in Australia I would have expected a little bit of help when your software doesn't work as expected. I am sorry, but that's just not good customer service.

  • Flash CS3 Exe won't open in Explorer/Firefox

I have created a project in Flash CS3 and exported it. I
"embedded" a link in an HTML document. When I click on the link in
Firefox I only get the option to download. When I click on it I get
the choice to open or save & when I choose "open" I get the
security warning "Windows has found a problem with the file." and
it is blocked. Further information below says that it does not have
    a valid digital signature.
The really funny thing is when I export it in Flash 8 it
    works perfectly.
Thanks in advance for your (anybody's ;-) support.

That error is displayed when the download is corrupt. You should be able to redownload to fix this and if that doesn't work empty the cache of the program you are using to download Firefox with before trying to download again.

  • Installed Skype and now Flash Player won't open in new window

I installed the latest version of Skype and now Flash Player does not work properly.
I just bought a new laptop, it has Windows 7, 32 bit, IE 9, and Flash 10.
A website that I go to all the time uses Flash Player so when you click on a link in the site it pops out the player into a new window and you can listen while you still browse on their site.  After I installed Skype last night, that 'pop-out' function is no longer there.  The player now replaces the webpage and it is very large and distorted because it is supposed to be in a small pop-out window.  No matter what I click, I can't get the link to open in a new window, it always opens in the same window replacing the webpage.
I uninstalled Skype and then used the manual uninstaller of Flash because the uninstall would not work from the uninstall screen in Windows.  I then reinstalled the latest version of Flash Player and I still have the same problem.
Is this a setting that I can change somewhere??
    Thank you.

Hi eidnolb, thanks for the reply.
I did uninstall the google toolbar that was installed with skype.
I now found that it is not just flash player that won't open in a new window, I can't get any link at all to open in a new tab or a new window.
I tried restoring IE's settings and that did not work.
I know this is an adobe forum and my problem is now much larger than just adobe, but if you have any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
    Thanks.

  • Flash Player won't open

I have tried downloading Flash Player version 16.0.0.235 on my Mac version 10.8.5 with Safari version 6.2.2 and whenever I download it it tries opening it in MATLAB and won't allow it to be opened with any other application. It is not a .dmg file when I download it, it is a .mdlp. I am not sure what to do in order to get the right installer download. Any ideas?

Flash Player can only play Flash content, not create SWF files.  You will need Flash Builder or Flash Professional for that.

  • Flash won't open (unexpected quit) after system reinstall from Time Machine

After purchasing a new machine, I reinstalled everything from my Time Machine backup, including all applications. Now Flash CS4 gives me "unexpected quits" every time I try to open it. Flash CS3 opens though. I deleted the prefs file and it still won't open.

I have/had a similiar problem. What I did was reset the SMC and PRAM.  You can also do a safe boot. For the PRAM, I had to do three times, and my computer finally booted up. Afterwards I verified my disk and repaired my permissions. So far so good. I guessing that Spotlight needed to re-index the system.

    Hey NCRob,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing an issue with the calendar application closing. The following resource provides troubleshooting steps for this symptom:

  • Hard Drive icon won't open and menu bar flashes off and on

All of a sudden, in the middle of the day, my eMac went haywire. I can launch apps and docs are one the desktop. But I cannot open the Hard Drive icon. If I double-click on it (or used Command-O from keyboard), the icon won't open. And when I attempt to open it, the Finder Menu Bar begins flashing off and on (vanishing, reappearing, vanishing) across the top of the screen. I haver rebooted, run disk utility to repair permissions, even booted from TechTools to run its diagnostics. But still no access to the Hard Drive icon. I logged out and logged in as a TEST user, and same thing happens even when logged in that way. Literally, this happened in an instant. One minute the eMac was fine, then this started. Anyone else seen this? -- david

If the problem exists in both your regular account and your Test account odds are that it is at the system level. You can try a Safe boot (hold down the shift key at startup) to see if there is a third party startup item or one of the optional Apple functions that is causing the problem. You could also boot from the installer disk and use the Disk Utility->Repair Disk function. If you have a utility such as Tiger Cache Cleaner which will do a deep cache clean you can also try that.
