I am unable to launch the iOS simulator from flash CC or find any info online about this problem. I have tried reinstalling flash and xcode. The error I get is:
iOS publishing requires files which are not installed. Please quit Flash Professional and run the original installer to ensure that all optional components are installed.

I think that this is just saying that the display is truncated. When you publish, it still uses the full path.

  • Embed Fonts in Dynamic Text Fields

Hey, I am relatively new around here although I've been a
member for years. I am just now starting to utilize my account. I
do have a question in regards to embedding fonts in Flash 8. I have
read up on this numerous places and haven't been able to find a
solution that works for me, whether this my user error or not is
    still TBD.
I am loading text from a XML document into Flash dynamic text
fields. I need to be using a handwritting font for these text
fields. After embedding the handwritten font they are not
displaying in my dynamic fields but are displaying in my static
text fields that am I also using on the site. I am controlling my
dynamic text fields w/ an external stylesheet. I believe I must do
something "additional" for these dynamic text fields but haven't
figured out what that is, any help anyone can offer is much
    appreciated! Thanks.

the question is a bit too general. There are many ways to
    approach it, from copies
of text fields with that font off stage, to embedded outlines
    and linkage in the library.
My guess is that somewhere on the way you did not fully
    complete the outline embed options.
Either done incorrectly or you miss some action.
Mind to post detail explanation how you embed the outlines?
Best if you post an example
    file for us to check.

  • Is there any way to change the default font for outgoing text-messages, in "Messages"? (OSX 10.10)

Is there any way to change the default font for outgoing text-messages, in "Messages"?
I can change it for one conversation, but then it resets to the default, tiny font.
The preferences menu only lets me change the conversation font.
    (OSX 10.10)

    Hi,
As you may remember there used to be a Messages pane to the Preferences where the Font and colour of the Balloons or background and the Font text colour could be changed.
And there was a Format Menu for character, word and Sentence changes in the current IM or iMessage.
Those have gone in Yosemite's version of Messages (Despite it retaining the designation of Messages 8 the same as Mavericks' version).
All that can be done now is set the size of the font and this has been moved to the General Section of the Preferences.
The Yosemite version has also been fixed to using the Balloons style of send and receiving any type of messages as well.
Changing the Font would involved editing the Balloon.transcript file.

  • Flash Professional 8 English download for MAC

    Hi,
I am trying to download the English version of the "flash professional 8" trial program for "MAC" but when I press download, nothing happens.
I can install the french version and currently am testing the french version, however I am not fluent in french, nor do I wish to improve my french skills.
If I could get a a working English version of "Flash Professional 8" that would be great!!
    thanks in advance,

Sorry, but I really think this is a hopeless cause unless you feel like diving into some very dark places of the Internet. And it's even somewhat pointless from the company's point of view - ActionScript 2 and other legacy Flash features are long deprecated. Unless they only use this for doing offline stuff, I see no reason why anyone would use such an old version. You might inquire on the Flash forum if someone has this old version and might be willing to share the installer via Dropbox or so, so you could at least use the 30day trial for a while, but that's probably as good as it gets.

  • Flash Professional Help | Publishing for Adobe AIR for desktop

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/using/publishing-adobe-air-desktop.html

This page is extremely helpful. Thank you!
With the help of this page, I've managed to figure out how to do most of what I need to do, however, I'm having troubles creating a Mac and Linux installer for my application. So far, I have only been able to create a Windows installer (.exe). In the "general" tab, the only options I have in "output as" are "AIR package", "Windows Installer" and "Application with runtime embedded".
I am using Adobe Flash Professional CS 6 and am using a Windows 7 computer.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Flash Professional IDE Compile Target for Secondary SWFs?

When building using the Flash Professional IDE (CS6), how should SWFs that are intended to be loaded secondarily be compiled. That is, what should their compile target be?
    Thanks

    >>Do you mean that the secondary swf's can have a compile target of flashplayer 11.3?
Yes, secondary SWF with this target should get loaded.
    >>Then in the root swf has a compile target of air 3.6 and it does not matter what the target was for the secondary swf's?
    Yes.
    >>You mention that the secondary swf's are assets only, I thought the whole idea with 3.6 multi swf projects, was that these can now contain as3 code.
Yes they can contain as3 code but there is no restriction of using swf-version>=19 with secondary SWFs.
    >>Also how are the secondary swf's supposed to be included in the root swf compile. (Not the runtime load method) In flash CS6 do we just add the secondary swf files to the included file list of the root publish settings dialog?
Yes, you've to provide SWF files in included file list and also have to use code to load them at runtime.
    >>Also how do we designate AOT mode?
In CS6, AOT mode ipa gets published in target Apple App Store and Ad hoc.

  • Inserting Flash Video.. long wait for skin to appear fools users.. any way to add a "please wait..video is loading"...

Hello. I'm trying my first Flash Video insertion..all is well
except I'd really like to be able to tell anyone viewing the page
to please hang on and wait during the buffer period on the
progressive download. it takes anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds for
the player skin to appear and start playing the video.. I have
previously been using embedded WMP which seems to have an advantage
in this department since the player skin would immediately appear
and display a buffering video % which would let anyone viewing the
page know that the video is downloading and is about to play. With
the flash they have no idea and the page appears not to be working
for a "long" time (5 to 20 seconds) since not even the skin
appears. Is there a way to improve these faults? My video is about
3 minutes long and can be found here.

It took about 8 seconds for me. Not too bad at all.

  • Italic and bold fonts for Hoefler Text are no longer available to MS Word

Apple provides regular, italic, black, and black italic styles for the Hoefler Text font. I've used them before but since I installed Snow Leopard, I cannot creat italic or bold (black) in MS Word. When I make text italic or bold (black), the characters disappear--the sentence shortens as if I had deleted the phrase, but if I change it back to regular, it reappears.
Font Book shows that I have all of these styles of Hoefler Text in the Library. I tried disabling and then enabling, but that didn't work. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, have you discovered a solution? Thank you.

Thanks for the file. It obviously helped, but I am not sure how. I probably should have taken careful notes about what I did by way of disabling and removing the .ttf fonts and then dragging in the .dfont variety. At one stage when I brought up a Hoefler document in Word, the regular Hoefler text had disappeared. I panicked and removed the .dfont version. Later, after trying something else, the text came back but (judging by the numerals) it was not Hoefler. To make a long story short, all styles of Hoefler (including italic and black) are now working. There are no duplicate font files—I used Remove Duplicates—but I have no Hoefler file in either of the two Fonts folders, even though I can see Hoefler Text in Font Book! To be safe, I used Font Book to export the Hoefler Text to a back-up folder, and the version it exported is the .ttf version. In Get Info I confirmed that it’s the 6.1d7e1 variety. I restarted the computer twice, and determined that this situation is stable. Go figure.
In any event, you set me on the right road. Hoefler Text is now working as it should. I appreciate your help.

  • Flash plugin version, which level for variable text?

I've built a cd-rate banner for a bank client and designed it
so that the client can make changes to rate, dislaimer and the like
via referenced text file. it works fine for some, but on some
machines (both at the bank and at home-machines of bank staff) only
the non-variable elements show up. I've added a flash detector that
looks for version 6 or better and if not spits to a non-flash
    version of the page.
My worry is that I don't really know at what point I'll be
    safe. Any comments? Thanks.

could it be that the dynamic text has no font outlines ?
Perhaps including outlines will assure it appears on every
    computer
or using device font _name and let computer choose for
    itself.

  • Embed font in editable text field

    Hi,
I am trying to embed a font into an editable text box. There is no other type on the page so there are no fonts to choose to embed from the FONT folder. How do I embed the font? I hope that is clear...
    Thanks a bunch!
    Linda

It happens automatically when you save the file, if the font's license
    allows it, of course.
