Flash Professional Help | Publish settings

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/using/publish-settings-cs5-5.html

Flash CS6 uses the sound settings at the Publish Settings dialog even if Override Sound Settings is not selected and you set a sound file to use imported quality.

    This page is extremely helpful. Thank you!
    With the help of this page, I've managed to figure out how to do most of what I need to do, however, I'm having troubles creating a Mac and Linux installer for my application. So far, I have only been able to create a Windows installer (.exe). In the "general" tab, the only options I have in "output as" are "AIR package", "Windows Installer" and "Application with runtime embedded".
    I am using Adobe Flash Professional CS 6 and am using a Windows 7 computer.
    Thanks in advance.

    I think that this is just saying that the display is truncated. When you publish, it still uses the full path.

  • Flash CS5.5[Publish Settings]: How to include custom Metadata tags in swf?

    In Flash CS5, the 'Publish Settings' for the fla had an 'Export SWC' checkbox that took care of that.
    The option is missing. Why was it removed and how can  that be done in 5.5?

    Thanks sinious, but, it doesn't work.
    Let me elaborate on what I want to do:
    I'm trying to create a swf in Flash CS5.5, that's using a flex library (swc) that relies on Metadata tags (anotations).
    I need to use the metadata tags in my as3 code (in the fla), and They need to be compiled into the swf (by Flash CS5.5 compiler...).
    Although, when I load that swf, the metadata tags aren't compiled into it (I'm using describeType to check if tags are available in the swf).
    In flex, I would use the '-kepp-as3-metadata+=' compiler setting to do that, in Flash CS4 & CS5 I used the 'Export SWC' in the publish settings, but that's removed (WHY???).
    Checking XMP Metadata didn't change that, the tags are still not included in the compiled swf.
    Anyone?

  • Correct Flash CS6 iOS publish settings for iPhone?

    My programmer and I are trying to publish an iOS app for iPhone from Flash cs6 and are being rejected because "Your app did not run at iPhone resolution and/or 2x iPhone 3GS resolution when reviewed on iPad. The contents of your app are not displayed within the confines of the screen."
    In Flash CS6 iOS publish settings there is an option to export for iPad Only, iPhone Only, and for iPad and iPhone. iTunes Connect is sending us a screenshot that shows what we see when we publish a development IPA file using the iPad and iPhone setting. But the IPA file we submitted to them was published using the iPhone Only settings which when viewed on the iPad2 shows up inside the little iPhone 1X frame and can be expanded to 2X as well. I believe this is what they are saying is not happening when they do the same.
    Has anyone else who uses Flash had this issue? If so what stage size and what publish settings should be used when trying to create an iPhone only app?
    Thanks in advance, Patrick

    kishliver wrote:

    iPhone only app should be published with stage size:
    640x960 for portrait view
    960x640 for landscape view
    ... if the app are going to be fullscreen.

    http://www.flashmo.com/preview/flashmo_170_galaxy
    and suggest me any good tutorial to make this type of flash site (moving content with navigation links)
    please inform me whether its available in mac.flash professional help or not?
    thanks

    I won't be providing the complete script code for this.  I'll give you enough of what you need to know to make use of what I do provide.  You have to put your mind to work to get it going for whatever you have planned.What I provide is actionscript 2, since you mentioned Flash 8.
    The movement forward and backward will be automatic based on the button clicked.  Each button will have specific final values defined for the _x positions of the objects you want to move (the finalX positions).  The Tweens will all work such that the objects will always move from their current _x position to their finalX position.
    import mx.transitions.Tween;
    import mx.transitions.easing.Regular;
    // Tween variables
    var twContent;   // the forward-most movieclip
    var twBK1;        // a background piece
    var twBK2;        // another background piece
    // Final X variables (set as needed by each button click)
    var mcFinalX =  mainContent._x;    // initialized to its current value
    var bk1FinalX = bk1._x;
    var bk2FinalX = bk2._x;
    function moveMovies(){
         twContent = new Tween(mainContent, "_x", Regular.easeIn, mainContent._x, mcFinalX, 2, true);
         twBK1 = new Tween(bk1, "_x", Regular.easeIn, bk1._x, bk1FinalX, 2, true);
         twBK1 = new Tween(bk2, "_x", Regular.easeIn, bk2._x, bk2FinalX, 2, true);
    btn1.onRelease = function(){   // each button will set specific values
         mcFinalX = ?; // you need to figure out what these ? values are
         bk1FinalX = ?;
         bk2FinalX = ?;
         moveMovies();
    btn2.onRelease = function(){
         mcFinalX = ?;
         bk1FinalX = ?;
         bk2FinalX = ?;
         moveMovies();
    Note: the 2 in the Tween code above is 2 seconds.  You can make this vary based on the distance that needs to be travelled if you like by somehow making use of the difference between the current _x and finalX values instead of the 2
    Here is a breakdown of what's in the Tween code...
    new Tween(     movieclip/object instanceName,
                          property to tween,
                          easing method,
                          starting value,
                          final value,
                          time/frames,
                          true(time) / false(frames)

  • Flash Professional CC February 2015 Update – Available now!

    Flash Professional CC team is proud to announce our February 2015 update (14.2.0.20) which includes critical bug fixes and support for the following features –
    Support for AIR 16/Flash Player 16 – This update will add the ability to publish 64 bit AIR apps for iOS 8.x in addition to support for Flash Player 16
    HTML5 Canvas Optimizations – We’ve made significant updates to optimize the published content.  The published content will no longer have unused library items, assets on guide layers, hidden layers (based on publish settings) and unused frames in graphic symbols.  This should improve the size of your published content dramatically.
    Audio Splitting – This feature will allow you to split your streaming sound on the timeline itself.
    Masking support for Custom Platform SDK.
    WebGL runtime support for the latest Chrome browser update.
    Please browse to Flash Professional Help | New features summary page to learn more about this update.
    Thanks!

    Good Afternoon Adobe Team,
    I recently updated to the latest version of Flash Pro and I'm having an issue with it crashing whenever I go to test it. What little code I wrote is below, I'm running on windows 7 machine.
    package  {
        import flash.display.MovieClip;
        import flash.events.*;
        public class OpeningScene extends MovieClip {
            var takeOne;
            var setUp;
            public function OpeningScene() {
                // constructor code
                ("This is the opening scene constructor");
                addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, myPlayButtonClicked);
                takeOne = new SceneOne;
                setUp = new OpeningScene;
            function myPlayButtonClicked(e:MouseEvent) {
                trace("Button Clicked");

  • Adobe Flash Editor by default opens with Flash Professional CS4 when I have CS5 Installed ?

    How can I change with which Flash Professional to open the fla files in Flash Builder? My Fla files are saved as CS5 version, they open by default with CS5 when I double click them, but still Flash Builder tries to open them with CS4 ??? I couldn't find any simple switch setting for that, anyone ?
    Also is there a quick way to publish a specific fla file in Flash Builder which I want published just once not every time I save, or I have to open it in Flash Professional and publish it from there ?

    I'm not certain - I haven't done that. But I found this link...
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flash/cs/using/WSFD77A256-0DE1-46c7-86FB-CC4A8AE2EAA6.html
    Part way through the page, it mentions this:
    To perform testing or debugging in Flash Pro with a file you are editing in Flash Builder 4:
    From the Flash Builder development perspective, choose Run > Test Movie or Run > Debug Movie. Note that each menu item has a Flash Pro icon next to it. Once the SWF window or debug session is closed, focus will return to Flash Builder unless there are compiler errors in frame scripts inside the FLA file associated with the project. Information about all errors is sent to the Errors panel in Flash Builder.
    To publish the FLA file associated with the current project in Flash Builder:
    From the Flash Builder development perspective, choose Project > Publish Movie. Note the Flash Pro icon next to the menu command.
    Good luck!

    Hello,
    Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
    To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
    #Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
    #Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
    #Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
    This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
    Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • IOS 7 Issues | Flash Professional update for Air 3.6?

    Is anyone having any issues with iOS 7?
    I am using Flash Professional to publish my apps and have  had a few rejected becuase of:
    1) Microphone request - App requests to use the microphone although it does not use the microphone
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3609631
    This is was apparently updated for the Air SDK, but not for Air in Flash Professional?
    "Fixed in the latest AIR SDK, please update:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/en/flash-player/release-note/fp_118_air_38_rele ase_notes.html"
    2) Movie Clip is not displaying in the correct place - I had an app rejected because a movie clip is not displaying in the correct place on the screen:
    "10.1- We found that your app does not comply with the Apple iOS Human Interface Guidelines, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines. After tapping on the info button, the content of the app is displayed on the top left of the screen."
    I used the following simple lines of code but the image is being displayed in the top left of the screen:
    addChildAt(bgAbout,0);
    bgAbout.x=stage.stageWidth/2;
    bgAbout.y=stage.stageHeight/2;
    Is there any ETA on the update iOS?
    Is Adobe aware of this?
    I hope these issues are fixed soon.

    You can use the 3.9 AIR SDK that is available on labs and add this in Flash Pro using Manage AIR SDK.
