Flash project from Romania not displaying on my UK PC

We have had a couple of pieces of work produced in Romania.
The companies in Romania have supplied web links for us to view the
projects - one a flipbook the other a website and all we get is a
blank screen with a grey square. I noticed that the encoding
defaulted to Cyrillic (Windows). Anyone know how we can solve this,
or has it got to be done their end?

Except text, there is nothing in flash that would be OS /
Language dependent.
Just like JPG, you should be able to see it everywhere.
My guess is that you guys have old player while the guy is
developing the
content with the latest version of flash. You might not be
compatible
player wise.

I'm just wondering why is it that when I place an image from iPhoto to an iMovie project, it is not displayed when I play it from beginning to end in fullscreen playback mode? However, when I exit it on the timeline, it is shown. All I did as drag it from the iPhoto column and place on at the beginning. "From" presence not displaying in Outlook 2010

I've been working on a software product aiming presence and im integration with Microsoft Outlook using IMessenger API.
Integration works as expected with Outlook 2013. However, the presence indicator of the
"from" or sender does not display in Outlook 2010. The to, cc and bcc fields all display presence properly. In Outlook 2013 however, all of the from, to, cc and bcc fields display presence.

My problem is similar to this one except that I've the same problem with Outlook 2010 and I don't have this problem with Outlook 2013. It may be resolved in Outlook 2013 with a hotfix I don't know. Does anybody have the same issue and have a fix or workaround
for this situation? I have latest updates for Office 2010 already.

which also have an effect on the presence indicator, please find the
Key in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\IM
or Policy Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Policies\microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\IM
and then check if the key value is set to 0.

Screen briefly flashes white but does not display the page when the Safari icon or other icons are tapped.

A problem has just started with my IPAD Air after 3 months of use.
If I try to open Safari by tapping on the icon the screen briefly flashes white but does not display the page.
Similarly if I try to open Settings page, Mail page, Calendar or Clock the screen just briefly flashes but the Apps do not run.
Some of the Apps do work on tapping the icon e.g. Maps, iBooks, Appstore, iTunes, Newstand etc.
I do have some website links which display when the icon is tapped e.g. John Lewis but some links do not work.
I have ensured that the ipad is fully charged, powered it off an on again, and cleaned the screen with a lint free cloth but the
same problem keeps occurring.

I saume you used a second display at one time, otherwise the Display settings wouldn't be treating your primary display as a secondary.
IF you open your System Preferences>Displays (-System Preferences) and click "Gather Windows" it should pull everything to the display on which you clicked it.

Websites with flash photo galleries do not display photos in firefox.

I manage several websites that use the 'expose' photo gallery. Expose uses flash to display photos in the photo galleries. When you go to one of these web sites and click on the photo gallery link, the photos are not displayed, the page shows the gallery buttons but no photos. Using Internet Explorer or Chrome browsers, the photo galleries work fine. Here are 3 web sites to view;

www.applemanart.com - click on art gallery
www.jewelimages.com - click on any of the gallery links on the left menu
Do the same with IE or Chrome to see the photos displayed.

Some galleries are displayed via JavaScript, so if they aren't working the make sure that you aren't blocking JavaScript.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key). 
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Imported project from CVS not working.

Hi all,
I am experiencing a weird problem with the use of CVS.
I am a new user of CVS, i installed a cvs server and i am trying to test its functionnalities within JDEV so that i can explain to the team i am working with how to use and benefit from it use.
But right now i have a hard time using it. I imported the project to CVS using the command line and then i checked it out using jdev. the problem is that when i compile i get an error on every jspx page the error is a java.lang.IllegalArgumentException for the following lines in the source of the jspx :

What could be the cause of this problem.
I am using jdev 10.1.3.3 with cvs version: 1.11.17

I did some more extensive testing and i actually got it to work on a redhat machine. But i tried on 2 different windows machine and it does not want to work!!! But as i said from the redhat machine it worked right out of the box!!!
On the windows machines i tried the jdev native cvs client and i also tried to install a newer version of cvsnt and i specified the path in my project unsuccesfully. I am running out of tests to try... Could it have to do with file permissions since the server is on a redhat machine and i try to import into windows!!! (i dont think this is even an issue but i am ready to consider every options)

"From" presence not displaying in Outlook 2013

When running the Lync 2013 client, the presence indicator of the "From" or sender does not display in Outlook 2013. The cc, bcc & to fields all display presence properly.
When I close the Lync 2013 client and the launch the Lync 2010 client, the sender's or "From" presence displays properly.
We are currently running Lync 2010 servers in our environment.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this issue?

I have certainly come across this behaviour with outlook 2013 against Exchange 2007.
How to repro the Issue?

I just installed Office 2013 + all MS updates and am very disappointed as Outlook 2013 is functionally inferior to 2010 because of this for us. I work for a large organisation and this would hold back Office 2013 rollout.

Tiffs from camera not displaying preview

My Panasonic DMC-FZ3 camera takes each photo as both a tiff and a jpeg (it uses the jpeg for display on its built-in lcd). The Finder and Apple apps are having a problem with the tiffs (the jpegs are fine). The finder does not display a preview, and the creation date is blank (could this be the problem?). Any attempt to open the files in Preview or import them into iPhoto gives me an error message saying that the files are either unsupported or corrupted. When I used the camera in October there was no problem with the tiffs created by this camera.
The files open fine in Photoshop, Graphic Converter, several other graphics apps, and even Camino and Firefox. If I edit the files and re-save in one of these other programs, the files will then display a preview, open in Preview, and import into iPhoto, but I shouldn't have to do this time consuming intermediate step.
I do not believe this is a problem with the camera. I pulled out an old SD card with photos over 1 year old that had imported fine last November, but I got the error message when trying to import them this time.
I searched these forums and found others with a similar problem, but none of the advice in those threads worked for my issue. I have tried changing the file name, repairing permissions, changing ownership on the library, and running the daily, weekly and monthly unix maintenance scripts. I even reinstalled iPhoto 5.0.4, but no luck.
I think the problem must be deeper than that, because Preview and Safari also refuse to open the tiffs. With that in mind, I ran the 10.4.3 combo updater, but still no go.
Any suggestions?

My camera doesn't do RAW, just jpeg and tiff.
I doubt the files are too large. The tiffs are about 8.5mb each, not overly large at all. The 16 bit question doesn't explain why the OS, Preview, and iPhoto had no problems just 4 months ago.
Another poster here traced the problem to OS 10.4.3. He thinks the .4.3 update broke something in the tiff handling ability. I wonder if there is an older library component I could import that would fix this?

Flash Video Play Does NOT Display Controls

I am using Flash Pro 8 - putting FLV files in SWF files using
Flash Pro 8 and then "publishing" to Html and SWF to a location on
my hard drive.
When I display the webpage from my Hard Drive from where ever
on my hard drive I initially published to from Flash 8 Pro -
everything works fine - videos play and video control bar shows and
works.
When I publish this website to web server the video displays
and plays but NO Video Controller Bar (at bottom of the video)
shows at all.
Symptom: when I make an Html, SWF and FLA file into a folder
on my hard drive and display them in the browser the video control
bar shows. When I copy those three files into the hard drive
website in FrontPage, the video shows but the video control bar
does not.
So, I re-made the Html, SWF, and FLA files and put them
directly into the FrontPage website (on my hard drive) then
everything works fine when I use broswer (IE 6 or Firefox). z
But, when I publish the hard drive website to the remote
website hosting company, the video control bar disappears -
everything else works fine (video shows OK just no video controller
bar.)
My guess is that the SWF file has a non-relative URL
reference concerning the video control bar and when the three files
(Html, SWF and FLA) are moved to new location then that
non-relative address rears its head.
I should NOT publish from Flash 8 Pro directly to remote
webserver as it has FrontPage Extensions and does not like to talk
to FTP changes to website not coming from FrontPage client.
is my guess right? What to do?????

Did you upload the skin swf file to your server also? That is

Image Coming from URLRequest Not Displaying?

Hi,
I have a main app here with a subclass that is supposed to "send images" based on the "parameters" that sends to a HTTPService.
However, even though the url seems to be generating correctly, I could not see the image. Since my PHP is working fine with the url as shown in the trace statements from my app, I am assuming that there has to be something else that I am missing here.

Updating Contact info from Mail not displaying in Address Book

So I was updating an existing contact from Mail using the data detector feature. Address Book was already running in background. I clicked on the data detector and said "update existing contact". I pick the contact that I want to update. When I go to address book to see if the contact was updated, it "appears" that it hadn't updated. However, if I exit address book and restart the data does appear. So it get's in the database but doesn't display until exit and restart.

After several days of trying, i finally seem to have it working. What i ended up doing was exporting my backing up my addresses on another computer that still had Snow Leopard on it. I exported both as .abbu and vCards. I was then able to get the vCards into iCloud.
Problem was, i could not get them to import into Contacts in Mavericks. I could not even add the iCloud account to contacts. It would let me sign in and choose contacts, but iCloud never showed up in the accounts nor did the contacts show up in Contacts.
After trying repairing permissions and resetting the PRAM to no avail, it occured to me to delete the Address Book folder from /Library/Application Support
Once that folder was gone, i was able to add iCloud to the accounts and import the .abbu file from Address Book.
So if you did not export your Address Book contacts before updating, you will need a second computer that is still running Snow Leopard to export the contacts. Then you can delete the Address Book folder from the Library and you should then be able to import the contacts into Contacts on Mavericks.

Songs imported from CD not displaying in song list

I tried to import songs from three different CDs. The first and third were fine, but the second CD imported, but doesn't display the songs imported in the list of all songs, although they are playing. I tried re-importing and it asks do I want to overwrite. I overwrite and same result. I re-import a second time and ask to not overwrite. Still no sign of the signs in the total list, and it now shows up in the duplicates list. Anyone know how I can find the songs, as they apparently are there, just not visible in the total list.

Dell Inspiron 600M Windows XP Just upgraded to latest iTunes and iPod s/w.

I discovered what the problem was for me. When I looked at the Recently Added songs, I saw that the songs were there. However, for the Name of Song, they showed the artist/song title, and for the Artist it showed "Various Artists". That's why I couldn't find it when I sorted by Title or Artist. By going into Recently Added, I right clicked on each entry and deleted the artist from the Title and added the appropriate artist in the Artist spot. Now the songs are properly logged in the music database and now my iPod.

Flash Exposure Compensation Value Not Displaying in EXIF Info

When adjusting Flash Exposure Compensation on Nikon D4 camera (not on the Speedlight) the set value is not showing in EXIF Field in Aperture 3.4.1. It always shows as a 0 value regardless of camera setting. When I open the .nef in Nikon View NX (v2.2.4) the set value for Flash Exposure Compensation is accurately shown in the EXIF info. Have tried editing the Aperture EXIF fields (removing Flash Exp Comp and re-entering it) but, to no avail. Has anyone seen this, or know of a solution? Are any D800 users seeing the same thing?

Flash Export from Quicktime not available

Just installed Flash 8 on my mack book pro (os 10 .4.9) but
the option to export to .flv from quicktime pro is not coming up in
the menu. Does anybody know why this is not appearing. The
component is installed but not showing up in quicktimes pull down
menu.
Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

I am having the same problem. Except I had installed CS3 and
I had encoded quite a few quicktime files to FLV. Then today for no
reason the flv option is gone from the quicktime menu. I haven't
done anything different from yesterday to today. I installed the
new version of Mac os X last week but that didn't change anything
in my quiktime. So I am really getting annoyed at this and really
don't have time to be chasing ghosts all day.... You know you just
want your tools to work when you pay for them... So if anybody has
any info that would be great.

Data From Query not Displayed on Public Page

I just created a page which has a dynamic portlet that runs a query to display some data. Now I recently made this page public which means that anyone can basically access this page from the outside and not have to login. However, the data does not seem to come up after I access this page on a browser even though the banner comes up fine!! I made the table that the dynamic portlet accesses public. Is there something that I may be missing here? THanks.

Well I went to the grant access tab and there is no make portlet accessable to public. The only place to make a component accessible to public is when your editing a page. The only options when you click on the Grant Access Tab is 1) Publish To Portal and 2) Inherit Previleges From Application.
