Flash Quiz  - Drag & Drop Default Error

Greetings !
I've come across a small 'flaw' in the quiz template:
If you test(ctrl+enter) the quiz template and go to the
Drag&Drop part (first question); you can see that you can drag
all the objects and drop them on 1 target. I don't know if this is
how it is supposed to be but this is a problem to my quiz app.
I'm not that good with ActionScript and I don't want to mess
up the default coding, so can someone please help me by altering
the script so that it does not allow multiple objects to 'sit' on
the target, i.e. it allows only 1 object on a target.
(It's interesting how Adobe/Macromedia hasn't changed or
checked the quiz templates in Flash Since Flash 6.)

    position the new entity from my air app directly under the mouse

    transparent parts, I can't capture the mouse position using
    MOUSE_MOVE all the time. Besides, how can I change the focus from
    my browser to my air app? I already tried calling
    nativeWindow.orderToFront() and nativeWindow.activate(), but the
    focus doesn't change when I click the entity in my flash page.
    Maybe somebody knows an answer to this ...

  • Error #1069: TextField Drag/Drop

    I have created a movieclip which I create instances of at
    runtime by clicking a button, these movieclips all have the name
    aCloud# where # is the instance number.
    My trouble is that the movie clip has a dynamic text box slap
    in the middle of it which isn't working with my drag and drop
    function. If I grip the cloud around the edges, the drag drop
    works. if I click the middle it does not and gives the following
    error in the output window
    ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property dropTarget not found on
    flash.text.TextField and there is no default value at
    Suite_fla::MainTimeline/myDragHandler()
    Here is the myDragHandler function which does the down click
    handler part I also have an up handler which does stopDrag() but
    this does the same thing giving me two errors for each click.

    in your for loop where you assign the event handlers, try
    setting the mouseChildren property to false on the aCloud
    MovieClips.

  • R6034 error Photoshop CS2 drag & drop

    I've had this problem for some time.  I'm on Vista-64-SP2 running Photoshop-CS2 When first installed PS-CS2 worked fine. I got no errors when starting the program and I could drag & drop icons from the desktop or windows onto the Adobe taskbar icon and the photo would load normally.
    Then I let Adobe automatically upgrade my CS2 and other Adobe products (Dreamweaver CS4, Illustrator CS2, GoLive6, Reader, Flash browser plug-in, etc.) and then I started getting a windows error message R6034 saying that "An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly."  Microsoft says the fix is to recompile the application.  Yeah right!
    OK, so I delete Photoshop and other applications and reinstall them all and the problem goes away ... until I let Adobe automatically update the products and the problem comes back.  Yes, I can probably live with an unupdated virgin version of Photoshop CS2 but there should be an answer from Adobe or at least someone else to validate that my complaint is not unique.
    Another problem that may be related is that I've seemed to have lost the ability for Adobe GoLive6 to open Photoshop images for editing
    Also I've lost the ability to drag & drop from the desktop or a window onto an open Photoshop application or onto its icon on the taskbar.
    I've searched the web and find nothing similar.  The solutions I have found were unrelated to my situation or were for a Macintosh.  I've searched the forums here and find nothing that gives an answer.
    I know pretty much what I'm doing around computers and I keep a clean system.  Informed replies are most appreciated.

    I don't think you will have much luck on that one. The problem here clearly is the way 32bit DLLs need to be piped on 64bit systems, which for some reason does not seem to work in your case, probably due to soem registry key being changed and then it messes up the wghole OLE/ DDE/ COM shebang. It may be further complicated by some dispaly routiner incompatibility. Since CS2 was never developed with Vista 64 in mind, you can't even exactly blame someone and this seems a common problem with an assortment of legacy apps, not just Adobe programs. What you could try is to download Sysinternals' Process Monitor, establish a filter rule specific to the updater and see, which registry keys it changes, which DLLs it replaces etc. this may then offer some clues as to which ones you need to salvage before the update and may possibly put back into place thereafter. May work, may not, but in any case you are doing it on your own responsibility....

  • Quiz Template Guru Needed: 1) Target Symbols from Drag&Drop questions persist on subsequent questions!??

    I've been finding some anomalies when testing the movie, for
    instance the question regarding the BA degree keeps telling me the
    answer marked correct in the Component Inspector (# 6 American
    Urban) is incorrect; other times it seems one question contains
    part of another question's graphics, though I have scrupulously
    made sure there is no overlap frame by frame.
    I need someone with experience in quiz templates to go
    through this until you find anomalies like those mentioned above,
    and let me know if you have any idea what's causing them.

    I have the solution. It is a bug in Flash for which I got
    them to find a workaround.
    If you ask me they don't spend nearly enought time/energy on
    Flash in education, particularly the quizzes, which have so many
    limitations and are lacking so many obviously needed features.
    I'll post their workaround below, but I want you, and all who
    read it to contact their feedback/wishlist for Flash and complain
    about their Quizzes getting short shrift. Features badly needed
    are:
    - Ability to randomize AND require certain questions to
    always appear.
    - options to enter name and have it appear on Results Page
    along with date and number of times the quiz has been re-taken.
    - the ability to have multiple true/false questions
    - better documentation on how to customize the template
    graphics and how to use original graphics
    - fix the drag & drop component permanently -- this is
    arguably the most useful question format of them all !
    - ability to save customized components -- as component
    templates
    - anything else you can think of that I haven't included here
    Here's the fix:
    1) in your movie, locate an instance of the Drag and Drop
    Interaction component and select it.
    2) Select Edit Symbols from the file menu (Edit > Edit
    Symbols) to edit the symbol
    3) The middle layer should be the Actions Layer.  Select
    frame 1 in that Actions layer and open the Actions panel
    4) Scroll to the bottom of the script and find the
    this.onUnload function located there.
    5) Use your mouse and highlight the contents of that
    function, not including the function name, and copy it.  You
    should have copied the following script:

    6) Return to the very top of the script and paste a copy of

    called immediately upon the loading of a new drag and drop
    interaction component clearing any prior objects used in the one
    before it.  This was not happening appropriately before
    which is what was causing those dragged objects to remain on the
    screen.

  • Users can bypass required quiz if it is drag & drop

    Captivate 8.01 on a Mac.
    I have the quizzes in the project set to "Required - The user must take the quiz to continue". This works on all other quiz types except the drag and drop questions.  Since the quiz properties are different for d&d I wonder if I am missing a setting or if this is a bug.

    Drag&Drop is not a default question slide, although it has some of its functionality like interactive objects and interactive learning interactions have. This is not a bug, there are more differences with the normal question slides: when getting back to a D&D it is automatically reset. It is not included in a Retake or a Review. The score can be included in the total score of a file, just like the score of buttons, click boxes, shape buttons, Text Entry Boxes and interactive interactions can be included in that score. But it is not a normal question slide.

  • Drag&Drop Error in Photoshop CC 64

    Hi, just today my PS CC 64 decided that it won't accept any PNG placed into document via drag&drop. The "File>Place" and "File>Open>copy (or whatever)" methods work. I just uninstalled and reinstalled PS CC 64 removing preferences with no use. Here are the two windows in consecutive order showing the error messages.
    I have seen such error in CS6 as well but after reinstalling CS6 the problem was gone. Any help is highly appreciated.

    Any chance this particular .png file is not actually a PNG-formatted file?  There is no law that says the file extension MUST match the formatting.  There might have been a mistake made when saving the file and the wrong extension specified.
    Beyond that, do you have any PNG-specific plug-ins installed?  As far as I know Photoshop does not need any extra plug-ins in order to be able to access a PNG file, and that first dialog you put up above doesn't look at all like a Photoshop dialog.

  • Drag & drop to ext drive for backup; "insufficient privileges" error

    I tried this in the Time Machine forum but I think this is a better forum.
    I backup monthly to an external drive by dragging my Home folder to the ext drive & overwriting the prior month's data. About every other time, after it reads the # of files to copy over, I get a window that says:
    The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items.
    I'm the Administrator and I'm backing up the main/admin home folder. When I dig deeper to troubleshoot the problem "items", it's always the same. It starts backing up the subfolders in Library, then when it gets to "MIDI Drivers" (which is empty on the original Home folder), it stops and doesn't copy anything after it. The next subfolder is "Plugins", which has three more subfolders inside, all of which are also always empty.
    Why does it keep hanging up on these subfolders? When I narrow it down and copy them over one by one, they copy with no problem, but for some reason it always hangs on these subfolders.
    Incidentally, I don't add much data in the course of a month so the monthly backup is fine; my ext drive is noisy so I don't like to keep it on 24/7; it's a hassle to plug & unplug the drive from the Macbook whenever I want to move around the house; and if it wasn't for the error message, the drag & drop is about as simple as it can get for me.
    Any ideas?

    If this isn't happening with a specific application, then you might try the following:
    Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
    Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
    If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • How can I get quiz scripts to pull properly.... Using CP 6 with Infosemantics Drag & Drop Widget

    I'm modifying a course which is composed of 4 mini-quizzes with each section having a results slide which gives you your cummulative score. This course was created by my predecessor. The course was previously published, loaded to our LMS, and used by new hires to test their knowledge and abitliy to locate information. In it's original state the course works and the Results slides score and coaching messages display as they should.
    Now that I need to update the course, I've discovered that the first section was built using a Drag&Drop widget. I didn't make any changes to the section built using the widget. Unfortunately, the Results slide for this mini-quiz section has become a problem when the user gets a score of 0 or 10 points. Instead of getting a message that reads, "Keep Trying!" (0 points) or "You're Doing OK!" (10 Points) they get a "Perfect Score!" message.
    Notice the scoring is correct for the section it's the messaging that's wrong. Since this is only happening with this one part of the quiz I'm assuming that there could be something wrong with the widegt.
    Any input would be appreciated.

    Rod Ward was very helpful in aiding in the fixing widgets that outdated due to a version update. However, this fix does note resovle my original problem. In short, the widget Drag/Drop was never the problem with the scoring/scripting issue. Can anyone give me insight as to why a course that has used by our learner population previously would stop functioning properly.
    Reminder:
    1. I made minor edits to the course in question. none of my edits impacted the section that is not functioning properly.
    2. Currently, learners would get a "Perfect Score" script if they scored 0, 10, or 30 points. "Perfect Score", in this first section should only display at 30 points while 0 points should yield "Keep Trying" and 10 points should yield "You're Doing Ok" responses.

  • AdvancedDataGrid Drag Drop Error

    I'm running into an issue where AdvancedDataGrid is not
    accepting drag and drop from controls that do not implement
    dataprovider in HierarchicalData format. If i change the ADG's
    dataprovider to a flat arraycollection then it will be able to
    receive drag drop from other controls. I've tried overridding the
    drag events to accept the drops but that still does not work. What
    key info am i missing to get a HierarchicalData format ADG to
    accept drag drop items from other controls?

  • Can open Topics by drag & drop, but not by double-clicking in the DITA map

    Hi,
    evidently I made an error somewhere in my structure app, the result is that I cannot open DITA topics by double clicking them in the DITA map anymore (Framemaker does simpy nothing). I can, however, open them by dragging the xml files onto the Framemaker window.  If I use the standard DITA 1.2 application everything works fine so I guess the problem is in my mapping.
    Here is what I tried to achieve:
    We need certain variations of the normal 'topic' type topic. The DTD should be identical, however different structures should be auto-inserted when creating a topic and the topic should have certain attribute values predefined.
    The idea is that the author can select one of these topic types when creating a topic, but when opening an existing topic simply edit it with the standard topic temple.
    Here is what I did:
    I duplicated the topic.template.fm, renaming it say "topic_a.template.fm", "topic_b.template.fm" etc. (just an example).
    I made adjustments to the EDD of these templates, changing the auto-insertions and the default values of some attributes.
    In the structapps.fm file I added XML applications for these new topic types, mapping each application to one of the new templates, but to the original topic DTD and r/w rules. E.g. the application "DITA_1.2_topic_a" is mapped to the "topic_a.template.fm" template, and to the original "topic.dtd" and "topic.rules.txt" files.
    In Framemaker I then created corresponding application mappings in the DITA options. E.g. the topic type "A" (which defines the visible text in the "New topic" menu) is maped to the XML application "DITA_1.2_topic_a".
    The result:
    It works as intended in every way when creating topics. The topics are saved with the standard doctype 'topic'. However for when I try to open topics from the DTD by double-clicking then nothing happens. Opening topics by drag & drop works fine though and they are opened with the normal (general) "topic.template.fm" template as desired.
    Any ideas? Was this confusing or am I completely off somewhere?

    Hi Robert...
    When you say that you need "variations" from the normal topic type .. are those structural variations or just formatting? FM associates structure apps with XML files based on the doctype (root element). If your files all have the same root element, then they will all open with the same structure application (unless you specify a different one when opening the file or by importing a new EDD). It sounds like you really should be creating a specialization for each alternate topic type. If you don't, you'll end up getting the wrong "model" assigned to the wrong file.
    Multiple EDDs (structure apps) can share the same DTD, and one EDD (structure app) can support multiple models. This is how the "ditabase" app works. There are lots of ways to set this up, but I think what you've done is probably not quite right.
    The default structure app setup in FM11 and FM12 is very complicated to work with. I recommend creating a single app that supports many models. This isn't always possible, but it sounds like in your case it should be. I've set up one app that supports 13 different specialized topic models and it works fine.
    Note that even though you've added structure apps for each model, if you end up opening the files using the default template, you are no longer using those modified models.

  • Help with Flash Quiz

    Using Flash 8 quiz template generate a Quiz,
    Then I build a new flash document and insert an empty MC,
    copy all the frames from the file generate by quiz template, and
    drag this new MC to the timeline.
    But it can't work properly.
    My purpose is to insert a quiz in another flash file. What
    can I do?

    Now I loaded the quiz using loadMovie("ff.swf","aa")
    And in the first frame of ff.swf I insert actionscript:
    this._lockroot=true;
    the Drag&Drop question doesn't work, all the other
    questions worked, and the results all comes out as 0.

    The 1009 error indicates that one of the objects being targeted by your code is out of scope.  This could mean that the object....
    - is not in the display list
    - doesn't have an instance name (or the instance name is mispelled)
    - does not exist in the frame where that code is trying to talk to it
    - is animated into place but is not assigned instance names in every keyframe for it
    - is one of two or more consecutive keyframes of the same objects with no name assigned in the preceding frame(s).
    If you go into your Publish Settings Flash section and select the option to Permit debugging, your error message should have a line number following the frame number which will help you isolate which object is involved.

  • Context menu & drag/drop mode missing

    Hello,
    when I place an existing Analyzer query in Excel there is no drag/drop mode available, even if this setting is checked by default. Also I don´t get the context menu on the right mouse button - what am I missing here? Maybe others have experienced the same thing.
    I have saved a workbook, where these settings are active and working, so why not with a new query?
    I am using Release 2004s SP9, Patch1, Revision 321.

    Hello Jochen,
       It should not matter whether you use new or old query in the excel.
    1. Please check the workbooks settings icon in the new design toolbar in BEx Analyzer and check the option "Allow Drag and Drop"

    2. If you are not getting context menu, it might be possible that there is a failure while including the query. Please check the status bar of excel at the bottom.
    There could be some failure messages.
    Double Click on the status bar of excel. It will pop-up the error messages or
    it will say "there are no messages"
