Flash screen saver tutorial

Does anyone know of a tutorial that shows how to make a
screen saver using flash? Thanks.

There is no tutorials because you can't make screen saver in
Flash program.
You need 3rd party tools that will convert the swf or exe
into save, flash itself
can't do it.
Check www.flashjester.com , tool call Creator

  • Flash screen saver

    Hi,
I'm wondering if there is an easy way to create a screen saver using Flash. I searched the forum and found some older posts regarding this, but nothing current. Has there been any new developments? Do I need to create the file in Flash then purchase some other program to convert it??
Hoping there's some other (free) way to convert a flash file into a screen saver format for Windows XP
    Any input is helpful.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
starting to use anmiation screensavers (a lot on Mosh and on Mobile 9), I realize that when switching on the screensaver, flash animations will always appear in Landscape mode. Is there anyway to have them played in portrait mode ?
FYI, I'm running the lastest V20 firmware with autorotation set to off (I prefer to use Rotateme, which I can switch on/off easily).

    Hey Smart Apples,
My iTunes Artwork screen saver is not working. After reboot, then selecting iTunes Artwork in System Preferences, just a black screen appears in the preview, as well as when pressing Test, and when allowing the screen saver to start on it's own. The error message in Console says...

    I've tried...
        deleting ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.screensaver.* files
making sure each album has a cover in iTunes
running Get Album Artwork in iTunes
        recreating symbolic link ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music -> ~/Public/iTunes Music/
    ... but doesn't help.
All other screen savers work... my usual is Flurry, and it works too, but gives invalid framebuffer operation under Console.
    Nothing running/checked under Sharing.

    Does anyone have a solution?
Environment: Mac OS X (10.7.2), Macbook Pro (late 2008)

So it turned out that the cause of the problem wasn't as complicated as I thought...
I had a few songs that were not added to the iTunes library, instead referenced from other locations on my hard drive.
Specifically, if you bring up the Get Info window of a song, under Summary > Where, it may show a different path than your usual iTunes Media folder location, set under Preferences.
    E.g. Where: ~/Desktop/downloaded_song.mp3
I guess, this happens when you drag a song into your iTunes instead of adding it to the library, and apparently, causes problems with the Artwork Screen Saver.
    Solution:
    To correct it,
For those songs, go to File > Add to Library...
Then find and select the song file.
That's all I had to do to get the screen saver working... All your songs have to be added to your iTunes Library.
I think my brother was messing around with my playlist... I hope Apple nails a better way to lock-unlock/secure OS X soon (proximity sensor, biometric 3D face recognition, unique voice recognition, soul recognition, etc.).
That malloc error message still shows up; that must be an unrelated issue with the screen saver.
I hope this helps out all those suffering through the same issue with their iTunes Artwork Screen Saver.

This sounds more like a Windows question, than a Firefox question. When you say that an image shows up every time you open your computer, do you mean every time you turn on your computer, or every time you start Firefox?

  • Display won't go to sleep / screen saver won't turn on

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard instead of the screen saver activating or the screen going to sleep when inactive, the screen goes dark for about a second and then flashes back on. It's resulted in images being burned into my screen a couple of times now.
If I manually activate the screen saver then the screen saver stays active and after a minute the display goes to sleep. Also, if I'm using Front Row the screen will go to sleep without a problem. I've tried turning off all apps to test it if one of them is preventing it, and and it still happens.
    Anyone else have this happening?

The screensaver preference file is stored in ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.screensaver.xxxxxxx.plist, where xxxxxxx is a UID for your machine. By moving this file out of the folder, your screensaver settings will be reset to the defaults.
The power settings are stored in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist.
If your new user does not have the problem, then the preference problem may be in your ~/Library/Preferences folder.

I would like to have my Ipad picture albums present on my Apple TV like the factory screen saver pictures that the Apple TV presents. Any ideas how to do that?

You need to go into the settings and set the screensaver to show your photos. Make sure you have shared photos via iTunes (File - home sharing - choose photos to share). iTunes needs to be up and running so it can cache the photos on ATV flash drive. FYI: It only uses a small portion (typically around 100)

  • Convert FLV to Screen Saver

I've built a video screen saver for a client using After Effects, Adobe Media Encoder and SWF & FLV Toolbox 4 (FLV & SWF Converter - convert SWF to AVI, SWF to GIF, SWF to JPG, FLV). It's an app that converts .flv and swf files into .scr files. The .scr file works just fine on every machine, and multiple operating systems with the exception of the clients machine, of course. The clients machine just displays a white screen instead of playing the video. Any idea what might be causing this? Or, do you know of any other safe, reputable .flv, swf, or video to .scr converters out there? I've found plenty of freeware converters, but I don't trust them. Screen savers have all but vanished, so finding legit software has been difficult.

If you can figure how to load and display the Flash video using Java, it should be pretty easy to turn that Java into a screensaver using the [Saverbeans screensaver development kit|https://screensavers.dev.java.net/].
..And it will work on Windows /and/ most *nix variants.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions:
While I can't be sure of exactly what is going on in your computer, here is what I suggest:
    1. Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Desktop and ScreenSaver > ScreenSaver.
Check to be sure that you have selected iPhoto to be your screen saver preference.
    2. If problems persist try
    Repair Disk Permissions
While booted from your internal HDD
Go to (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left column and First Aid in main column.
Click Repair Disk Permissions at bottom left.
    3. Launch iPhoto > iPhoto Library.
Carefully look through the entire contents of your main library.
Let me know whether you get any kind of response.
    Good luck.

  • Can't set screen saver

I want to use my iPhoto pictures on my screen saver as I do on my iMac.
The screen saver on my MacBook Pro is sent to "Flurry." I can set it to one of the other other Apple patterns, but it won.t let me select anything in the"pictures" folder, and if I try to scroll through the selections in that folder, the applicastion freezes and I have to do a force quit.
    Any suggestions?

Took 3 seconds to find a great article via google. Tricks, tips and project sample.
But as stated, if you're looking for someone to write it for you, outsourcing code seems all the rage.

as simple as creating a looped movie and then saving or exporting
    as a certain file?
    Thanks,
    Dan

you can upload your files to some url and mail it to me at

  • System Preferences crashing when Screen Saver window opens

I have been having a bit of a problem for some time now (a couple weeks).
One day, I noticed my screensaver was gone, and it turned into just the name of my hard drive and the Apple symbol moving periodically on a black background. So, I tried to open the screen saver options to change it, but when I open the Screen Saver tab, the list shows up briefly with nothing on it, then it crashes. I get this error message:
The application System Preferences quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the FlashPlayer- 10.4-10.5 plug-in.
I have re-installed Flash, but it hasn't helped. Any help on this issue would be outstanding! Thanks

Has anyone found the answer to this problem? I have installed and uninstalled flash player several times but whenever it instals my sytems preferences die, which is very frustrating. I receive the same message as Lazula.
