Flash SWF video export problem

Hello everyone,
I am currently working on a flash intro with a bunch of video
clips interspersed at different points. I've imported all the clips
using the method to place the individual frames on the timeline.
The video also sometimes is shorter than the alloted time given to
where it is placed on the timeline, so when it gets to the end the
last frame of the video freezes for a few frames, which isn't very
noticeable and is fine. When I play the intro in Flash the video
looks fine but the problem is when I export it to an SWF file. Then
when the actual exported file is played instead of freezing on the
last frame it starts to replay the beginning of the video clip
again, which is noticeable. I am wondering why Flash is changing
what I am seeing on the timeline when I am editing with the
exported file. I really can't re-edit the video clips to add a few
frames. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

export using QUICKTIME CONVERSION not just as quicktime movie and then choose h.264 which makes beautiful pictures at decent data rates.
If this does not work, export native qt movie then open using qt pro and select h,264....
good luck

  • Flash 8 Video Encoder problems

I used Video Encoder to convert a .mpg file. When I imported
it into Flash the audio plays but no picture. I then used IMtoo
MPEG 3 encoder to convert it to an MPEG file. This time I got
picture and audio but the picture and audio were very choppy.
Does anyone have a clue why? Or perhaps suggest another app
that will convert the file to another format that I would have
better success converting to .flv without degradation?
    THANKS!

I uploaded the MPG file and I also uploaded a directory with
the flash files (and a sample FLV file that works). I also tried
converting some other video clips that I have and they all worked
-- so I don't think it is the Flash player.
However, when I received the .MGP file (that I uploaded to
you) from a vendor (who videos for a speaker's bureau) and
converted it to a FLV file using Video Encoder 8. and then renamed
it to motif_200kbps.flv in order to have it play in the video
player template that I uploaded to you.... I got sound, but no
video. Regarding posting the video file that I uploaded to you, I
am unsure of the consequences of that ... so perhaps I will email
    the file to Jeckyl.
Now I am really confused, because the file
"motif_200kbps.flv" works fine for me - video and sound are there.
Are you using Flash Player 8 or 9 to view the final SWF? If you are
using Flash player 7 then there is your problem.

  • Encore CS6 Flash Export problem, Grey screens

    Hi everyone,
I am having a problem with my encore CS6 flash exports, they are not behaving as expected online (seems to be like a loading issue).
I've tried exporting FLV and F4V and the problem is the same. The same project exported from CS5.5 does not produce this undesirable
problem. It may be important to say that the project was started in CS5.5.
I have a button that links to another menu, and I am using videos as 'transitions'. The videos are dynamic after effects compositions.
When it's online, and you press the button it fills the canvas with a  'grey screen' before starting the video transition. This totally breaks
the experience and feels like an authoring error. It would be important to note, that this screens only appear the first time you see the flash.
Somehow the next time you press it doesnt show it.
I would happily go back to CS5.5 but I started using auto-activate buttons that are only available on CS6 flash exports.
Any ideas what has changed between this versions flash exports?
    Any help would be appreciated..
    Thanks in advance,
    Cris

    Encore CS6 6.0.2.004, IE9, Win7
Simple project, DVD NTSC, One menu with one button. One timeline. Menu first play, button linked to timeline.
Output flash with flv (and again with f4v - same results), No template, keep with flash swf rather than streaming.
Open index.html locally, must manually enable active content. Menu opens, movie plays. No grey screen.
Copy entire folder to USB, same result; USB plays on a different PC also.
Upload to web site; same result.
Am I doing soething differently from either of you? Are you using templates?
Factors related to flash security (for local and probably USB playback) can be problems. Various server settings can be problems for on line.

  • Flash CS3, Captivate 4 Single File SWF output- playback problems

    Hello,
I am trying to upload a swf file that I created to a website.  I am doing this because that it the only format the site editor will allow me to do.
I tried following the steps in the tutorial on how to embed a swf into a pdf. (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/captivate/articles/movieclip_to_pdf.html)
-The File started as a flv, I opened that it Flash Pro CS3, then exported the file to a SWF (Actionscript3).
-I then created a new Captivate project, and inserted a "Animation" to put in the SWF video.
(I did this because when I tried inserting the flv it only showed it as 3 seconds, when the video is                                     about 40, and it had no audio)
-I chose the option to not show the borders, but show the player skin (Play, pause, etc.) in Captivate.
-I then exported it to a SWF file (It also created the html, etc.)
There was a standalone SWF file created, that when I played with Flash Player, played not a problem, all of the player controls on the skin worked just fine.
However, when I uploaded the swf to the site, only the player conrols showed, and when I tried clicking on the buttons, nothing happened.   When I clicked on the slider,  it just showed where the video was supposed to be "2/1"
Any help would be appreciated a lot, as I am not a flash or captivate expert.  (I just started using a couple of days ago)
    Thank you,
    Chev

    Hi there
    That's sure a convoluted approach!

Uhhh, if you want the SWF on the web site, why are you following information for inserting SWF into PDF?
-The File started as a flv, I opened that it Flash Pro CS3, then exported the file to a SWF (Actionscript3).

What you don't realize is that if you insert a 40 second video into a 3 second slide, there is no need to adjust the slide play time. There is an option that is automatically set that keeps the slide from moving on until the video completes playing.
-I then exported it to a SWF file (It also created the html, etc.)
That's normal Captivate behavior. You get a few different files. The intent is to upload them all and point the user to the HTML file. It then loads and plays the SWF.
There was a standalone SWF file created, that when I played with Flash Player, played not a problem, all of the player controls on the skin worked just fine.

When you insert FLV you also have to upload the FLV. Captivate plays it by referencing it externally. It is not embedded into the SWF and remains as a separate file to deal with.

  • Problems loading Adobe Flash SWF file

Our users are experienceing problems loading Adobe Flash SWF
    files.
One example of a problem file is:
    http://www.adobe.com/enterprise/accessibility/popup_acr8_accessibility.html
User traffic is flowing through a Cisco ASA firewall - these
problems do not seem to occur from home networks or a Netscreen
firewall. The Cisco ASA does NOT have http deep packet inspection
turned on, and any traffic initiated by clients inside the firewall
should be allowed. The symptom is that Internet Explorer will begin
to download the video, but will hang at some point along the way
(for this particular URL it hangs at about 7%). No error messages
are displayed, but the video never displays on the screen either. I
would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have run into this
before, or if someone can explain what is different about this type
of file from regular Adobe Flash, that might help figure out what
the ASA is objecting to. The ASA does not appear to generate any
log messages about denying this type of traffic either.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide...

Thanks, but I use publish/export settings with GPU hardware acceleration and flash version 11.2 (and 11.8) but nothing happening.
And why gif file is not all transparenty then I insert on lightblue background? It can't export good quality? Also I use Photoshop, After Effects, Adobe Edge Animate. And nothing happening. Egde animate file .oam is not good for old website navigation. It can't be inserted in freeshop site from navigation... I use logo file .oam just for example here - http://e-shoptagras.graphicsrim.eu
In reality I want swf file, but we don't find why logo flickering? here http://tagraseshop.graphicsrim.eu

  • Advice on Exporting Flash To Video

    Greetings everyone. I'm in a bit of a pickle. I promised a
client that I would be able to export the flash piece I did for
them into a Quicktime Movie. I am using Flash 8, and using many
Flash 8 only features (i.e. blending modes, blur filters). Now, I
know that Flash 8's Quicktime export can't support that stuff, but
I figured I'd export it as a PNG sequence, import the sequence into
Premiere and life would be grand.
HOWEVER, I'm also using Actionscript to create some particle
effects (fairy dust if you must know). And I just realized to my
horror that PNG Sequences, actually NOTHING, exports actionscripted
    events. AAAGH!
So I wanted the forums opinions on the following options:
    1. Does Flash CS3's export tools take Blending Modes,
Filters, and Actionscripted events into consideration? I'll upgrade
    if I have to.
    2. Is there a third party tool that can save images from a
published .SWF file? Like a screen capture tool?
    3. Is there any way to pause a .SWF and advance it frame by
frame? I'm desperate enough to print screen every frame if I have
    to...
    Thanks in advance!

flashants.com is where you can get the SWF2Video tool which
is also talked about in the artile I
wrote - what do you mean you couldn't see it?
The Quicktime Exporter is designed to export dynamic content
    - so yes, in theory it will do what you
want - but beware - it is not perfect - in fact, if you have
a high frame rate (who doesn't) and a
lot of animation - forget about it. Here's my standard
    copy/paste response to this feature:
Turn off audio. The audio in a Flash movie may also slow the
    performance
possibly causing dropped frames. Turn off the audio, if you
    have many
dropped frames in the first attempt. Other video editing
    tools can be used
to add the audio to the video after export.
Reduce frame rate. If the movie dimension is a full size
    NTSC video, 740 x
480, and frame rate is 30 fps, you are more likely to have
    dropped frames.
Reduce the fps of Flash movie increase the chance of
    grabbing all the
frames. Other video editing tools can be used to adjust the
    frame rate of
    the video after export.
Optimize your animation. Try to avoid a lot of screen
    motion. The greater
the area of change on the screen, the more likely slowdown
    will occur. Also,
if possible, restrict your use of transparency and alpha
    channels as they
    too can cause poor performance.
Use ActionScript 3. Animation created by ActionScript 2 and
    ActionScript 3
are different in play back performance. Convert the
    ActionScript in your
animation to ActionScript 3 for optimized performance.
Dimension settings in 2 places. The dimension settings in
    Export Settings
dialog sets the dimension of the SWF movie to be captured.
    The Size settings
in QuickTime Settings dialog sets the dimension of the
    exported MOV files.
If the SWF size is smaller than the exported MOV size, the
    picture quality
will be degraded; if it is larger than the exported MOV
    file, you may have
better picture quality. For best quality (and often
    performance) these
    settings should match.
Most likely - you will experience dropped frames at best.
This feature is not perfect. SWF3Video
does an amazing job of converting SWF movies to AVI - it has
saved my *ss on many many many projects.

  • After I create a flash swf file how do I edit the video and audio?

I created a nice flash animation, but it appears there are no video editing program which edit swf files.
Why would flash create a file that cannot be edited in video editing programs including their own premiere pro?
I have to get a program to convert the swf to an flv file and then I can use a video editing program?
I tried exporting it to an avi, but much of the functionality was lost. I am looking at a man standing there instead of
moving his lips while talking, for example. Am I missing something? Please advise. Thanks!

If you have an swf file then you don't have a video to edit. You can export to a limited number of video formats from Flash. In order to do that successfully, you need to prepare your file so that it will export as you want. This means that you will have to produce the entire file as a linear sequence using the timeline and with no interactivitiy. You can use a limited amount of Actionscript, but it is a very small subset of the available language. Your audio must be in the timeline.

Thanks for getting back so quickly,
Here is my problem. I have 2 Macs, a desktop and a laptop. The laptop
running Tiger (operating system) and Adobe CS3 which is fine for

  • Flash Video Playback problem in CS4/CS5

I need to put a Flash Video on my website, embedded in one of the existing html pages.
When my developer puts together a Flash Video in Flash CS4 or CS5 using ActionScript 3, the video does not play - t just keeps buffering (showing a striped appearance on the seek bar) and will not play unless I refresh the browser.
I've tried copying the code from the html page that came with the set of swf and flv files and that doesn't work either.
Just inserting the swf file into the web page like we used to do in CS3 and earlier does not wor.
I noticed that now with ActionScript 3 there is no ACRunActiveContent.js file.
Videos created using CS3 and ActionScript 2 seem to work just fine on web pages.
Wonder what i can do to use CS4 and CS5 videos and have them play on html pages?
    Any ideas anyone?

    Just to clarify:
Creating a Flash Video swf in CS5 (or even CS4) with ActionScript 3 requires the video to be embedded in the web page a bit differently than we were used to with CS3 and AS2.
While the newer versions of Flash do use a different method (using swfobject) when "Publishing" a Flash .swf, it is NOT required to do so. In fact neither swfobject nor ACRun... are required to display Flash of any version (AS1, 2, or 3) on a Web page. The simple single object method will work just fine:
    <object data="path_to_file/file.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="insert_width_of_movie" height="insert_height_of_movie">
      <param name="movie" value="path_to_file/file.swf">
      <param name="SomeOtherParam" value="ParamValue">
    </object>
Both ACRun and swfobject are "Flash Detection" methods used to display some alternative content if Flash is not detected... they are NOT needed to simply display the Flash .swf.
However, you can't use half ACRun code and half swfobject code....it must be either one or the other... and either would display AS3 players just fine.... as would the single object method.

  • Resizing output when exporting to Flash/SWF

Does anyone know if there is a way to resize the output when exporting a Keynote presentation to Flash/SWF? When you export to QuickTime, you can adjust the output size. I can't find a way to do that when exporting to Flash.

I think that's because the Flash output displays at whatever size you want when you embed it into a website. For example, you can't create a Keynote presentation smaller than 200x200. BUT, if you create at 200x200 and then, in your embed statement, change it to 100x100, then that's how it will display on your web page.

Have you tried adding a "trace" message to let you know when cue point is reached?
Have you tested the functions separately to varify that they work?
    Also I wonder about using
    if(evt.info.name == "01CreditIn")
    The .info part...
Here's a working example that on a certain "event" type cue point, fires a trace message and then loads a second movie
    ns.onCuePoint = function(evt:Object){
        trace(evt.name);
        trace(evt.time);
