Flash tutorial

if yaw know any good sites or things/tutorials were i can
learn flash at, could yaw give me a link to it pleas?

The Help Files that come with Flash, particularly the section
titled "Getting Started with Flash," are a good place to start. If
you prefer more formal training, check links here:
http://www.adobe.com/training/
A good old fashion Google search on the terms "flash" and
"tutorial" will yield a plethora of links. Or a visit to your local
mega-bookstore will also give you more than you can choose from.
Good luck!

    When I navigate through windows to the tutorial samples,
    there are images and movie clips.
    How do I use these images/clips in my tutorial. I am using

  • What is the best Flash Tutorial?

    I am looking for the best beginning flash tutorial.  Any suggestions?
    Regards, Tom Ashworth

    Hello Tom,
    I find the tutorials at designprovideo.com simply fantastic! It's like having someone there with you, walking you through the software. I started with Photoshop and have since moved on to the beginner tutorial for Flash CS4 101:
    http://designprovideo.com/tutorial/flashcs4101
    I was finding Flash very intimidating. Now I am feeling more comfortable with the basics after watching the first 50 videos. I especially appreciate the way the training is organized into bite sized chunks and the trainers do not assume knowledge like in other tutorials I have seen.

  • New to Flash -- tutorial help pls!

    Hi:
    Working with the Flash Developer Center tutorial http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/atv_flcs4_demos.html
    I have Flash CS3 professional, and downloaded a couple of the zip sample files, fla.  However, an error message says "Unexpected File Format" when I try to open.
    Is it a CS3 vs CS4 issue?  If so, is there a way to convert these to CS3?  I assumed fla is fla...
    Or is it something else?  Helluva way to get started!  Thanks for your help!
    Rgds, Ned

    Not a problem at all. You should be able to install the trial of CS4 and work with those tutorials. As skyblue said, once you open those tutorials, you can then use saveAs... to save them as CS3 files. Keep in mind that you won't be able to use the features of CS4 from one of those saved files.

  • Flash tutorial help, please?

    Hello! Let me start by saying that I am very familiar (not a
    pro by any means) with Flash (I own CS4 pro) and I just completed
    the Flex 3 video series here on adobe.com. I am a pro with
    XML/PHP/HTML/Etc... But what I am asking is this! I want to be able
    to build a complete site like this:
    http://s3.envato.com/files/88829/index.html#/home
    I know that this site was designed using the GAIA platform
    but I would like to build a full site like this from scratch. I
    have read tons of books but am at a complete loss of where to
    start.
    PLEASE! For the love of Crom!!! Could someone please point me
    in the right direction. Is there a site ANYWHERE!!! (or even a
    really good book!) That explains the full development process, just
    one good tutorial could set me in the right direction!
    Thank you all every much!
    Sincerely yours, in mental illness...
    Tyr Rin

  • Flash tutorial gone wrong..

    Hello
    I am trying to create a custom scrollbar for a website... I watched the tutorial>http://www.entheosweb.com/Flash/video_tutorials/custom_scroller.asp
    on how to create one. I have the scrollbar working but it won't attach to the text!
    Here is the actionscript:
    var scrollUpper:Number = 338.2;
    var scrollLower:Number = 498.2;
    var textLower:Number = 337.0;
    var textUpper:Number = 514;
    var scrollRange:Number = scrollLower - scrollUpper;
    var textRange:Number = textLower - textUpper;
    function scroll () {
        var moved:Number = scroller_mc._y - scrollUpper;
        var pctMover:Number = moved/scrollRange;
        var textMove:Number = pctMoved*textRange;
        text_mc_y = textLower - textMove;
    scroller_mc.onPress = function () {
        this.startDrag (false,this._x,scrollUpper,this._x,scrollLower);
        this.onMouseMove = scroll;
    scroller_mc.onRelease = scroller_mc.onReleaseOutside = function() {
        this.stopDrag ();
        this.onMouseMove = null;
    I have the text in a mc called text_mc and the scrollbar in scroll_mc. There is a mask over the text.
    Thank you for your time!
    Virginia

    you have a 2nd typo:
    var scrollUpper:Number = 338.2;
    var scrollLower:Number = 498.2;
    var textLower:Number = 337.0;
    var textUpper:Number = 514;
    var scrollRange:Number = scrollLower - scrollUpper;
    var textRange:Number = textLower - textUpper;
    function scroll () {
        var moved:Number = scroller_mc._y - scrollUpper;
        var pctMoved:Number = moved/scrollRange;
        var textMove:Number = pctMoved*textRange;
        text_mc._y = textLower - textMove;
    scroller_mc.onPress = function () {
        this.startDrag (false,this._x,scrollUpper,this._x,scrollLower);
        this.onMouseMove = scroll;
    scroller_mc.onRelease = scroller_mc.onReleaseOutside = function() {
        this.stopDrag ();
        this.onMouseMove = null;
    Any ideas? Thank you so much for your help!

    Flash has been used for broadcast animation. Check out this

  • Help creating LogIn from Flash tutorial

    I need to create a LogIn, that every user will have the SAME

    I have been working with the Flash LogIn Component. Now, I'm

    Suggestions? Recommendations?? (I also can't figure out the
    basic: adding in the name/password...)

    Quicktime has never been able to read flash 6, 7 or 8 files. If you used:
    Menu--File-->Export Movie--Quicktime Video. Flash will export the Flash to version 5. This will work. Make no difference what publish settings or Flash version you have...
    Now if you use: Menu--File-->Export Movie--Quicktime. Flash will export your video to what ever you have in your publish settings. If you have your publish settings set the version 5, this will work. If you have your publish settings to 6, this won't work.
    I You bet your using export to Quicktime instead of Quicktime video. And if you did use export to to Quicktime your publish settings are set to version 6...
    There are 2 exports to Quicktime in Flash:
    Quicktime...
    Quicktime Video........

  • Flash tutorial or advise needed

    Hey.  Looking to do an animation in flash, possibly using as3 (Depends if it is needed).  Basically, I want to take a champagne bottle, and have the cork pop out and the champagne spray everywhere.  I could do it myself, but it would look un-natural.  Would anyone know the best way to achieve this effect, or of any tutorials performing something similar (I have looked but can find nothing at all).
    Cheers

    I would start by searcing google images for a decent champagne bottle and one that is possibly spewing champagne, I don't know how good you want this animation to be but you can use motion tweening and shape tweening to make your shapes and objects move or transform.  If this is a short animation you might consider drawing ever frame, or modifying each frame by hand rather than drawing on every frame.  You can use the onion skin option in flash to see a grayed out version of your last frame. Of these, I can vouch for the ActionScript 3.0 Cookbook ...
    Joey Lott,
    Darron Schall, and Keith Peters are top notch developers.
    This book has
    helped me considerably, but it is aimed more toward the
    intermediate to
    advanced programmer. If you want an intro book -- on
    programming, in any
    case -- I recommend Object-Oriented ActionScript for Flash 8,
    by Peter Elst
    and Todd Yard, for ActionScript 2.0 programming (still
    perfectly valid in
    Flash CS3 if you set your publish settings for AS2). For an
    AS3 intro,
    consider Foundation ActionScript 3.0 with Flash CS3 and Flex
    2, by Steve
    Webster and Sean McSharry.
    For a general intro to Flash -- not especially
    code-oriented, but with a
    healthy dose of ActionScript -- I can also vouch for
    Foundation Flash CS3
    for Designers. It's available for pre-order, not quite ready
    yet, but I
    have a great personal interest in it because I co-authored
    that one with Tom
    Green. ;) For voluminous animation-specific tips, I highly
    recommend Chris
    Georgenes' How to Cheat in Adobe Flash CS3 ...
