Flash unactivated itself

Hey
I'm really sorry to bother everyone but I've just tried to
load Flash MX 2004 but all of a sudden I get the activation screen
that you get when you first install the software
I got Vista on the 30th of January and I reinstalled my
Studio MX 2004 software right away andI was able to activate both
Dreamweaver MX 2004 and Flash without any problems but now all I
get when I want to load Flash is please activate your software or
use our 30 free trial
I've tried to activate flash again online, but everytime I
enter the serial number and try to do it that way, all I get back
in return is a "unable to connect to internet" error message
Flash was working fine a few days ago when I last used it and
nothing has changed PC wise apart from installing a new nForce4
SATA driver from MS a couple of days ago, so could I please ask if
someone could help me with this problem?
Thank you all very much for your time

Good news!!!! I got Flash MX to load without having to
uninstall Vista!!! After right-clicking on Flash.exe and selecting
the Properties button, I looked under the security tab and noticed
that I was no longer in the list of "Group or user names:". (I
double checked this by looking in the same area for my Dreamweaver
MX (which is working fine) and I noticed I was listed there.) So I
added myself back in as a user. Then I unchecked the boxes "Run
this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP" and "Run this
program as an administrator" under the Compatibility tab. And
that's it. Flash opened with no problems. It disabled the Aero
feature, but I can live with that! Hopefully this works for you as
well!!!

  • Flash uninstalls itself on its own

    I have 1 computer that keeps uninstalling Flash.  The PC is Win XP SP3 32bit running IE8.  I thought it might have been McAfee but there is nothing in the logs saying McAfee thinks its a virus or spyware.  Add/Remove programs does not list Flash but the Flash icon in the Control Panel is still there.  This happens randomly, sometimes once a week, sometimes once every other week.  Any thoughts or input on this would be great.  Thanks

    Here is the log, I wanted to wait until it removed itself again, which it did this morning.  I'm having this issue on 2 PCs and I spoke with those users.  They both got an update message and ran it.  After they ran it, Flash is not there.  We do not allow our users to have admin rights, so what I'm thinking is that somehow the update process is removing the older version, then when it tries to install, it can't.  Here's the contents of the log from today.

  • I am having problems with viewing flash plugins on websites. it seems that the firefox 5 is inlarging the flash piece thus skuing the image and inabling features of the flash object itself.

    most important issues i am having are the following are as follows:
    1) on www.alliedelec.com the main image in the flash rotating banner is skued from being enlarged.
    2)http://www.alliedelec.com/eaton-control-automation/ on the bottom of the page there is a flash video player which is missing the controlbar at the bottom and cutting off the video previews on the side due to the flash oject being enlarged.
    i have checked this in older versions of firefox and other browsers and ff5 is the only browser which is having an issue and one in need fixed asap.
    Please Help!!!!

    No problems here on Linux with the Flash objects on both pages.<br />
    I see the control bar.
    Make sure that you aren't zooming anything on that page.

  • A "security issue" for property list in library of flash document

    Please take a look at this screen-shot I have taken from the library in a flash document.
    see in the link below, you have to copy and paste it in your browser.
    http://askervgs.wikispaces.com/file/view/library.jpg/505738374/library.jpg
    As you see the modified dates for all these components are 28 April-2014 and for last component it is 29 April-2014.
    What is strange is that the flash document itself is claimed to be created in a local exam: date on 30.April 2014 !!
    How is it possible the components in the library are modified two days before the document itself is created?
    Dose it mean that the student has had access to these components two days before the actual exam date????
    *** All other students flash documents look normal and all dates for anything they have created  i
    their flash document library are actual exam date: i.e. 30.April 2014 between 08.00 - 14:00.
    Please help to clarify this issue?
    Thanks for any help!

    Thank you for your answer!
    They use school laptops, and I will later check the date/time on this person's computer, but something which contradicts the "wrong date" case is that I have received three more files(one open office writer text file) from the same student, all created and modified on 30. April 2014, which was the actual exam date.
    So until know it seems that this student has had access to the exam file and prepared the main fla file 2 days prior to the exam date.
    This is quite possible because we use previously given  samples in local exams, (digitally available for "some nerds").
    But technical question is:
    Do the dates listed in flash-library for created components actual dates which match users computer dates/times?

    Hi Anne,
    Your version of Safari is still supported.  Please see Adobe Flash Player | Tech specs for supported OS and browsers.
    If the Flash Player plugin is in the Plug-ins (disabled) folder it's because it's an older version that Apple has disabled in Safari.  This has nothing to do with whether or not Flash Player supports the browser.
    I'm not sure what you mean by "when i click on flash player itself i am told there is no application to open it."  Flash Player.plugin only works in the browser to view Flash content in the browser.  The plugin does not open files outside of the browser.  If you have SWF files you'd like to view outside of the browser, then you'll need the Flash Player projector. However, based on your previous comments this doesn't appear to be what you are trying to do.
    Google Chrome does embed Flash Player in it, while Firefox does not.   Mozilla has also recently started blocking older versions of Flash Player in Firefox similar to what Apple is doing in Safari.
    Following the 'clean install' instructions should result in you having the latest version of Flash Player installed that will not be blocked by the browser.

  • Flash buttons not working in IE7 and Chrome

    Here's my website where the problem is occuring www.bakercreative.co.uk
    As you can see the Flash buttons animate, but when clicked they should go to a new html page.
    I've tested it in IE8 and Firefox without any problems but it's not working in IE7 and Chrome.
    Does anyone know what the problem is? Could it be the html code or the flash file itself?
    Thanks

    Hi, Glad you were able to solve that issue with the buttons and Chrome. Any small thing can cause big problems!! LOL
    I'm sure IE7 will test out ok, IE6 did Your website is very nice and has a variety! I hope it all comes together for you.

  • Output to Flash Problems

    I am experiencing problems when I export my project to flash in Encore CS3. The project builds & transcodes, then makes a .swf file but when I embed the flash into my html page it will not play. I know I have the correct html code to embed the flash movie into my page and when I replace the flash file I created in Encore with a flash file I have created in Adobe Flash and it will play on my page. The .swf files seem to be really small in size compared to what I have when I build in flash. Is this an Encore CS3 bug that needs to be fixed? Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong if not a software issue?

    I have attempted several different flash projects ranging from a simple timeline with a 30 second mpeg clip, to a fully authored 15 min DVD presentation with menus. The latest small clip that I exported to flash was 131kb when I went to the sources folder and clicked on properties. the flash folder itself was named bugtest and the flash file was named FlashDVD.swf
    I also uninstalled and reinstalled Encore to see if there was an issue with a bad install but it still will not play properly.

  • Problems with Flash video streaming in any Browser (Windows 8.1)

    Hello.
    Since maybe the last Chrome update (to version 42.0.2311.90 m - I tried both 32 and 64 bits versions) or some Windows 8.1 updates (I don't know for sure), flash videos don't even start to buffer - they only play after the full content is downloaded (or loaded in the site's player) . So, If I try to watch a video from a Flash Player based interface (like Dailymotion, or Vimeo), I have no streaming, and I have to wait a long time, watching a "1%" or a load wheel until the full content is available to watch.
    This is happening with all browsers, not only Chrome (IE and Firefox too). I tried to update flash player (first, version 17,0,0,169 and then tried the beta, the one released April 14, 2015). No difference at all. So, I think this might be a problem with the flash player itself, or with some Windows settings.
    So, lets go to the facts:
    - That happened suddenly for no apparent reason - one day it was working, and on the other day it wasn't;
    - I have the latest versions of all browsers I use (Chrome, IE and Firefox);
    - My Flash Player version is, currently, the latest version;
    - I tried old Flash Player versions. didn't work;
    - This is not happening with HTML5 video players, like Youtube, so i think it's not a codec problem;
    - I have the latest nVidia graphics driver. And it was happening even before I update the driver (I have a GeForce GTX 770);
    - I tried disabling the hardware acceleration on Flash settings, nothing happened;
    - I use default Windows Firewall and Defender. Tried to disable firewall, nothing happened;
    - I had searched all over the internet for the answer, but I can't find it. I already did all what the troubleshoot pages from Adobe said to do;
    - My internet connection is fine. It's a fast connection, and It's on wireless. I have several PCs connected to this network and flash videos work fine with them, only in this specific machine isn't;
    - I tried uninstall flash player and install again several times, with several different versions. Didn't work;
    - Tried disable different versions of flash player on Chrome too, nothing happened.
    The thing is, I can imagine that this might not be only a flash player problem, but since it's the only plugin problem I have, I thought that you might have the answer.
    Thank you.

    Please work through the video troubleshooting guide.

    If you're still stuck, please follow the directions in the guide on providing the dxdiag report and additional information about what you tested and saw.

  • Registry problems when installing Flash Player

    Hi, first of all, sorry for any misspelling, I'm Argentinian . I'm writing here because I've tried a LOT of ways and solutions to install Flash Player for IE, here some facts:
    I mostly use Google Chrome, that has the FP already installed, but i have a problem with the ActiveX control, I can install Flash player 11 for windows but Not ActiveX... i read that that's a tool for IE, so i thought i wouldn't be needing it, but when i tried to execute a program (Game Ranger) it said that i needed ActiveX control and that i didn't have it in my computer.. So i started to check for solutions, etc etc. and finally give it up because i just couldn't do it, but well now I started again because I want to know if it's something important to have..
    The problem when installing is this: It starts to download Flash Player.. then install it and when it's in 51% it stops and a message appears saying: registry error. this is what happens when I try to install ActiveX, not Flash Player itself because as I said earlier I can install it...
    All I want to know is if there's some way to allow Flash Player installation to change registry values.. because i think that's the main problem.. i think. Thank you for reading.
    Edit: Forgot to tell information about my system.
    OS: Windows 7 32-bits

    Tried it. Same error, which is the last one in this page: http://kb2.adobe.com/es/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_CommonErrors
    As Pat said, here's the list all files there are in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash (after following Carl's instructions)

  • Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 11.6 r602 Has stopped Working

    Ok, I think Im in the right place. Anyway,
    Im using
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit
    Internet Explorer 10 32Bit
    Flash Player Activex Version: 11.7.700.169
    So I got my Popup about a Flash Player Update. I dont allow anything to Auto Update as I dont want anything running in the background without my permisssion. I clicked the Download button and Internet Explorer opened to Adobe Download page. After that, the Flash player Popup stopped responding and crashed. Flash player itself has seemed to install just fine but Im still curious what happend. Thanks
    Im going on a "If its not broke, Dont fix it" Attitude right now. But if anyone knows the exact cause of this issue is, it would be nice. Not sure if you need an Event Log, but yeah

    I see this failure every two to three days that the Flash Player Update window pops up. The existing Flash Player version on my computer is 11.6.602.180 and the update tries to install version 11.7.700.169. Before IE 10, I think there were two versions of IE installed on 64 bit computers, IE 32 bit and IE 64 bit. With IE 10 only one version is installed and users can switch from one to another by choosing/unchoosing an option in the settings. My guess is that the structure of files have changed during the upgrade from IE 9 to IE 10 and Flash Player Update is not ready for it.
    Do you know if I un-install the Flash Player from Control Panel -> Programs, it will uninstall the "Shockwave Flash Object" addon from IE as well? And what link should I follow to install it back? Is this the correct URL to use: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer or should I download the following installer? http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install Thanks.

  • Acrobat 9 flash/flex form scrolling and hand mouse pointer problems

    Hello.
    There is pdf file with embeded flash swf file inside. Main business logic has been implemented on flash: there are drop-down interactive menu and  navigation links.
    I've noticed 2 problems related to Acrobat (flash movie itself, standalone, works correctly):
    1. Scrolling over drop-down menu doesn't work: mouse wheel doesn't scroll content of drop-down form menu. So, I have to manually click on scroll bar.
    2. Hand mouse pointer over links losses "hand" icon. Hand icon shows for short period and then disappears but should be visible while mouse pointer is over a link.
    I managed to test these problems on Windows, MacOS with Acrobat Proffessional 9.0 and Acrobat Reader 9.1
    So, Is there any way to resolve these problems?
    Thanks in advance

    I'll take a look at these.  #1 is a known issue with Flash Player and is already being looked at, haven't heard about #2 though.

  • Flash player crashes in videoseek

    Hi,
    I have a very difficult problem, because I cannot find the point where my osmf player crashes of video seek.
    It is different from time to time. In some cases it crashes after the third seek, sometimes on the first.
    The main scenario is that the rtmp video starts playing and after a few quick seeks in the timeline which call the seekTime() function the whole browser crashes. Can it be caused by to many positions behind the dot, if the number is decimal?
    Here a small code preview:
    private function seekTime( value:Number ):void {
        if ( mediaPlayer && !!seeking ) {
            if ( mediaPlayer.playing ) {
                pause();
            var mediaTime : TimeTrait = mediaPlayer.media ? mediaPlayer.media.getTrait( MediaTraitType.TIME ) as TimeTrait : null;
            var mediaSeek : SeekTrait = mediaPlayer.media ? mediaPlayer.media.getTrait( MediaTraitType.SEEK ) as SeekTrait : null;
            if ( mediaTime && mediaSeek ) {
                if ( mediaSeek.canSeekTo( value ) ) {
                    mediaSeek.addEventListener( SeekEvent.SEEKING_CHANGE, onMediaSeekChange );
                    seeking = true;
                    mediaSeek.seek( value );
                } else {
                    trace("seek failed");
    private function onMediaSeekChange( event:SeekEvent ):void {
        seeking = event.seeking;
        if ( !event.seeking ) {
            var seekable : SeekTrait = event.target as SeekTrait;
            seekable.removeEventListener( SeekEvent.SEEKING_CHANGE, onMediaSeekChange);
            if ( mediaPlayer ) {
                play();
    The videoplayer is created in this class:
    private function createVideoPlayer( startTime:Number=-1, endTime:Number=-1 ):void {
        this.removeEventListener( VIDEO_CONNECTION_CLOSED, onVideoConnectionClosedByPlayRequest ); // this eventlistener is only important for play request & timeout
        if ( playerConnection ) {
            playerConnection.removeEventListener( NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, onConnectionStatusChange );
            playerConnection = null;
        if ( !netLoader ) {
            var connection : NetConnectionFactory = new NetConnectionFactory( false );
            connection.addEventListener( NetConnectionFactoryEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE, onNetConnectionCreated, false, 0, true );
            connection.addEventListener( NetConnectionFactoryEvent.CREATION_ERROR, onNetConnectionError, false, 0, true );
            netLoader = new NetLoader( connection );
        var streamRes : StreamingURLResource;
        if ( startTime >= 0 && endTime >= 0 ) {
            streamRes = new StreamingURLResource( videoUrl, null, startTime, endTime );
        } else {
            streamRes = new StreamingURLResource( videoUrl);
        streamRes.urlIncludesFMSApplicationInstance = true;
        mediaElement = new LightweightVideoElement( streamRes, netLoader );

    As far as I remember when we tried to "localize" the bug for FM-1134 there seems to be a strange behaviour at NetStream itself.
    Sometimes when a seek was performed the following behaviour took place. Here is an abstract from the discussion:
    6) We assume the problem may lie in NetStream itself. The first time we came across the problem we used our serial element implementation inside a parallel. That implementation is used to simulate "playlist" (with prev/next ability) and does not proxy SeekTrait of underlying child. In that case the stack trace (above) was showing a loop between ParallelSeekTrait and NetStreamSeekTrait itself. During an "endless loop" the onNetStatus handler did not get NetStreamCodes.NETSTREAM_SEEK_NOTIFY message after netStream.seek in seekingChangeStart. Moreover previousTime == expectedTime clause in seekingChangeStart was always true - netStream.time (at line 104) always had the same (the one before seek attempt) time - so no ssek was performed inside the NetStream itself or, at least, it was not performed before the next "endless loop" attempt. So the easiest way to "fix" it is may be a use of delay or breaking a chain of loops with waiting of some NetStream status there.
    So (may be) you are in the same kind of endless loop here but affected by the different sircumstances.
    Does your browser crash instantly or hangs at first? If latter, could you pause a debugger and get the stack trace for the moment player hangs?
    Our main concern was the behaviour of composite elements  - and the problem is fixed for us now. However we would like to implement a buffer seek sometimes (as you have described). And there was another problem described in original bug report post that is difficult to reproduce but it is the one  that appears occasionately:
    During the experiments on this issue I've came across another strange video playback behavior.
    When seeking a VideoElement (during the first "pass" or consequent) video display freezes as if paused but the sound continues to play.
    So it somehow continues a playback without screen updates.
    When the reel is over (considering the sound) video stops and rewinds to the first frame or advances to next item in composition.
    May be that issue somehow goes to 10.1 cycle-saving feature (no screen updates when flash player is not visible)?
    Considering the DisplayTrait of VideoElement is just a Video it may be an effect of Flash Player itself.
    Not sure it should go to separate issue due to inconsistent reproduction and seeming affinity to described before.
    However it appears on different computers (both PC and Macs) in our company.
    It is somehow "connected" to seekeing to. So, as I've said above, may be all the problems described are the effects of Flash player malfunction itself?

  • Problems running Flash Builder 4.6 profiler

    Hello,
    I have a problem running Flash Builder profiler. When I click "Profile" it starts my web application, but nothing else happens inside Flash Builder itself - no new data appears in Profiler perspective, Flash Builder itself doesn't show any sign of doing something.
    My mm.cfg contains the next line: "PreloadSwf=C:/flash builder workspace/.metadata/.plugins/com.adobe.flash.profiler/11/ProfilerAgent.swf?host=localhost &port=9999"
    Additional details:
    OS: Windows 7
    Flash Builder version: 4.6
    Tested web browsers: Firefox, IE 8 - the same problem in both of them
    Flash player versions: ActiveX/Plug-in Version:11.7.700.169
    I made sure that ProfilerAgent.swf indeed exists in the location defined in mm.cfg. In addition, I tried to change port 9999 to other ports (both in mm.cfg and in Flash Builder). I also verified that the location of ProfilerAgent.swf appears in trusted locations of Flash Player.
    I would be very grateful if someone could help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks,
    Valeria

    This sounds like something has gone wrong during installation. CSAR and CSLIBS references should be set up automatically during installation.
    There should also be no need to import the Flex SDKs as CS Extension Builder 2.0 ships with them included. It won't do any harm though having the CS Flex SDKs imported.
    Can you detail how you installed CS Extension Builder 2.0, please and where you obtained it from?
    Here are the installation instructions I would recommend starting from a clean FlashBuilder 4.6 instance:
    To install Adobe Creative Suite Extension Builder, download the ZIP file and unzip it into a root location (SDKRoot).
    Install Extension Builder in Eclipse with Flash Builder or Flash Builder Standalone:
    In Eclipse, choose Help > Install New Software.
    In the Install dialog, click Add.
    In the Add Site dialog, click Local... to browse to the SDK root folder or enter the URL of the update site.
    Name the site CS SDK and click OK to confirm the changes.
    Select the new CS SDK site in the "Work with" field.
    -- Select all the Adobe Creative Suite Extension Builder components.
    -- Click Next to confirm the selection.
    In the Install Details review dialog, click Next to confirm that you want to install all the components listed.
    Accept the terms of license agreements and click Finish.
    Re-start  Eclipse as recommended.
    I obtained it from Adobe and installed it using the Help > Install software option, but without unzipping it. Maybe that was it.
    Now I've done a clean installation and it works perfect. I did it with administrator permissions, don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I read it somewhere and did so just in case!
    Thanks a lot!

  • Flash Builder 4.6 horribly unresponsive

    I'm using Flash builder 4.6 (and have used prior versions of flash builder as well) with a flex/actionscript project on a Windows 7, 64 bit box.  Flash Builder itself (not the launched application) is horribly slow and unresponsive.  I do not have the auto build turned on or design mode on
    Here are some of the problems I regularly have:
    - Opening the window, if it has been minimized, and clicking anywhere on it causes the window to be greyed out and have the "(not responding)" message added to its title bar.  It starts working after 15 seconds.
    - Using the arrow keys to move up and down in a .as or .mxml file is jerky.  I.e., some keystrokes move at the rate I hit them, but others pause, wait a few seconds, and then move.  This also occurs with mouse actions.
    - Using code navigation like F3 or <CTRL>-<SHIFT>-G causes Flash Builder to pause while it thinks.  In the case of <CTRL>-<SHIFT>-G, it pauses so long that one thinks there are no references (because the search starts with 0 results).
    - Building code within flash builder takes minutes.  Even the modification of a single file takes forever.
    In general, I've found working with Flash Builder one of the worst development experiences (I've worked with Eclipse for the last 6 years, VIM, & Visual Studio too) I've had.
    These are the installed components:
      Adobe Data Modeling Core Components 4.5.304901.v20110217 com.adobe.model.feature.core.feature.group Adobe Systems Incorporated
      Eclipse IDE for Java Developers 1.4.0.20110615-0550 epp.package.java null
      org.eclipse.equinox.p2.operations NLS Support 3.7.0.v20110716043402 org.eclipse.equinox.p2.operations.nl1_3.7.0.v20110716043402 Adobe Systems Incorporated

      RDS Core and Database Components 4.5.304901.v20110217 com.adobe.rds.feature.feature.group Adobe Systems Incorporated

    I have similar problems with some .as files. The compiler/formatter/assistant seems to hang, consuming 100% cpu (or 25% on my quad-core) and blocking the UI. Each keystroke / click takes 10-15 seconds. The cursor flashes very slowly. Sometimes the window goes white with "not responding" in the title bar.
    I have not yet been able to pinpoint the problem precisely or reproduce with a simple code sample, but it seems to happen when
    a)  your code contains inline (anonymous) functions and
    b) you have typed an opening bracket but no closing bracket yet -  ( ), { }, [ ].
    The situation continues until the brackets are balanced.
    Can either of you confirm that this is so in your case?
