Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
    Not empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
    Now try a video.

  • Flash Updater bothering basic users

I just now deployed the ssm.cfg file to out 10000 computers to stop the flash updater from checking for updates.  However that is not stopping the FlashUtil10u_ActiveX utility from notifying our non-admin users that the update it already knows about can't install because they don't have admin rights.
    1.  Is there a way to stop this or do I have to run the flash updater I have to put everyone at 10.3 and then let the ssm.cfg file prevent further updates?
    2.  Why the the world would Adobe have flash player display a message to users saying that they need admin rights to install flash?  If they aren't admins, they don't have rights, so why even notify them.  This type of thing should only show up for administrator accounts if at all.

    Hello,
Are you trying to disable auto updates from occuring?  If so, please take a look at the mms.cfg section in the Flash Player Administration Guide.
    Update options
Settings in this category let you configure the auto-update mechanism used by Flash Player. You can increase or
decrease the frequency of checks for newer versions, or disable auto-update entirely.
Flash Player supports notification of software updates by periodically checking for new versions of the player on the
adobe.com site. Flash Player never runs in the background to perform the auto-update check. This anonymous check
is only performed when the player is loaded to view Flash content, typically in the browser, and by default only occurs
if it has been at least 7 days since the last time it checked for updates.
The auto-update notification settings can be configured by users or by options in the mms.cfg file. Users can set the
frequency of the checks or disable auto-update notification by using the Global Notifications Settings Panel in the
    Flash Player Settings Manager.
If you want to enforce standardized update settings for all users, you can use the mms.cfg options discussed in this
    section.
    AutoUpdateDisable
    AutoUpdateDisable = [ 0, 1 ] (0 = false, 1 = true)
If this value is set to 0 (the default), Flash Player lets the user enable or disable auto-update in the Settings Manager. If
this value is set to 1, Flash Player disables auto-update, which prevents Flash Player from automatically checking for
and installing updated versions. You can’t use this option to prevent the user from disabling auto-update.
Note: If this value is set to 1, or if the user disables auto-update, the remaining options in this section are ignored.
    AutoUpdateInterval
    AutoUpdateInterval = [ number of days  ]
If this is a negative value (the default), Flash Player uses the auto-update interval value specified in the Settings
Manager. (If users don't make any changes with the Settings Manager, the default is every 30 days.) If this value is set
to 0, Flash Player checks for an update every time it starts. If this is a positive value, the value specifies the minimum
number of days between update checks.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Why are there so many flash updates?

Why are there so many Flash updates… I have had two in the last week and at least one more since the start of the year. It seems to have really got silly this last 12 months, is Flash really that unsecure and unstable that it needs this many fixes and updates?
I know you can tick the install in background box when updating but I like to know what is going onto my computer and given Adobe's knack of crashing my system when using PS and AI I don't really want them silently installing anything.

99% of the time the update gets prompted by Youtube or BBC when videos won't play on there sites and I follow the links through them. You would like to think that big sites like these would not allow false links to malware to crop up, but it isn't out of the question. Next stop, up to date anti virus…..
As far as Youtube goes I thought they had adopted HTML 5 now as standard and didn't rely on Flash?

  • Why does Flash Player keep sending me notifications to update to the version I already have?

Why does Flash Player keep sending me notifications to update to the version I already have? The result is always an error message telling me that the version is already running. (Desktop Computer; Windows Vista OS; Firefox; Adobe Flash Version 11.8.800.94)

I don't know; can you post a screenshot of such a notification?
Did you update both ActiveX (for Internet Explorer) and plugin (for Firefox)?

  • Error message o update flash player when already have the latest version?

Why is i tha I get an error message to update flash player or media plugin when I already have the latest update verison 11,7,700,224 and I am running windows 7 Home Edition?

Who/what is giving you that error message; can you post a screenshot of it?
There have been many reports of fake update notices recently.

  • Prompted for updates I already have?

Flash Player Version: 11.7.700.202 (persistent through several previous updates)
    OS: Windows 7, 64 bit
    Browser: Internet Explorer
Often videos and ads will stops, replaced with a grey and white exclamation mark, and eventually a notice that I need to update flash player. Clicking on them brings me to an update page, but I often find that it's for the update I already have when I check which version I have under programs on my computer. It can usually be circumvented by closing all the Internet Explorer tabs and reopening them, but it's been a significant disruption, and I was wondering if there was a way to avoid it. It seems to sometimes be caused by pages with lots of ads loading at once, but isn't solved until I've closed every tab at once (i.e. if I leave one open, then open a new one the problem persists), and sometimes takes multiple tries. I can't remember if attempting to update when I already have the update works.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings.iTunes and APp Store and sign out and sing back in
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Backup and then restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
Last but I wold live it it before restoring as new
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • App Store not letting me download free games or even let me update apps I already have!

Ok, so I tried purchasing a item in a game I have (not knowing how much I have in my bank account). App Store denied it so I'm like ok whatever I don't care. Well now whenever I try to download free apps or eve. Update apps I already have the store makes me sign in, and wants me to update my billing information because there was an error with my last purchase because it didn't go through. Ok why is it doing this? It didn't go through I don't care I just wanna update my apps and be able to download free Apps without having to update my information then apple charging for something I don't want anymore.... Can anyone  tell me how to fix this? I already tried removing the card! I don't have a "none" option when I try to remove it so... Yeah

You must have a valid form of payment on your account even for updates and free apps.

  • I already have changed my apple id. But whenever I update any application, it is asking and using the old app id and password that is not a working e-mail already. How can I change my app id?

I already have changed my apple id. But whenever I update any application, it is asking the old app id and password that is not a working e-mail already. How can I change my app id?

So you made a new Apple ID? Unfortunately that won't work. Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another and Apple does not merge Apple IDs. What should have been doen is mearely change the email address that was associated with the Apple ID.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
The only way that you can do this now is with a new email address if you used your current email address for the new Apple ID.

  • Trying to access Flash Player Settings Manager always asks to install but I already have it installe

I am trying to access Flash player website settings manager.  I link from a browser to the settings manager but instead of a panel there is a download required to get latest Flash Player which I already have.  I download it successfully. Windows 7 control panel has Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX 64-bit. When I link again, I get the same message to download flash player as if I never did it before.  What am I missing? There is also Flash Player (32-bit) icon that invokes Flash Player settings manager. Is this the best I can do to get the website storage settings?  My ultimate goal is to remove Flash player cookies which I learned about today to be a problem. Thanks.

I link from a browser to the settings manager but instead of a panel there is a download required to get latest Flash Player which I already have.
I have no idea what you are talking about.  Just at what site are you getting this message to download instead of the settings panel?
My ultimate goal is to remove Flash player cookies which I learned about today to be a problem. Thanks.
If you want to temporarily remove Flash Player LSO's(cookies), just delete the browser's temporary files.  If you want to permanently remove LSO's, go to your control panel and activate the Flash Player Settings Manager.  Change the Local Storage Settings to Block all sites from storing information on this computer.  However, most sites with Flash Player videos will not work with this setting.
