I have this checked to notify me of Flash updates, but I don't think I've ever gotten such a notification.

It should work; there's no reason why it shouldn't. However, I can't load the content (proabably because it's Flash-based itself). Other than that, if you can load it then it probably works okay.
Just wait for the next release.

Command-period to cancel EXS sample loading: Does this work for anyone?

Hello everyone,
When loading a sample instrument into the EXS, watching with glee as that wonderful progress bar slowly fills up; underneath there is this note: Press "command-period" to cancel. No matter what I do nor how hard I try, I cannot get this key command to work. When I first noticed this problem long ago, I searched both manuals and found nothing, and with a great sadness in my heart, I defined it as a "no longer supported feature" in logic and moved on.
Today, after experiencing the relentless loading of unnecessary samples (see my other post) my thoughts wandered yet again to how wonderful life would be if this feature actually worked!
So I'm asking, has ANYONE been able to get this to work? If not, anyone know of a work around to cancel the loading of samples?
I anxiously await your replies, and thank you for your help.

It's never worked for me either. Sorry I don't have a work around (other than unplugging the computer), but did want to confirm that indeed it doesn't work.
It does work for the bounce progress bar though.... Not that that helps, but is worth mentioning.

I've elected in Edit->Preferences to "Confirm when closing multiple pages" under tabs, but it does nothing of the kind. Opening multiple tabs then closing the window does not ask for confirmation. Any one else get this working?

Ditto. It will close a window with multiple tabs with no announcements of doom even with that checked. That's true whether or not it's the only Safari window open on the system.

HT1386 Does this work for anyone? For a company who spouts "It Just Works" this WiFi sync just does not work.

What's up with WiFi sync? Is there a trick to it? I get it to work once and then it just doesn't work again. I have an iPhone 5, iPad 3, iOS 6, IMac 2011, latest OS and iTunes, a Cisco E4200. How the heck do you make it work?

Is your computer ON while you're trying to sync through wifi? Sync through wifi will work only if your computer is running at the same time.

I decided to try gnumail today. I installed it from the repos.
I have to start it with
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/GNUstep/System/Library/Libraries/:/opt/GNUstep/Local/Library/Libraries ./GNUMail
because the libs are in these folders.
Then it works - until I wanted to view my mailbox. It can be reproduced by mailboxes - mailboxes + clicking on any folder in my mailbox.

Airdrop works between iOS devices and between OS X devices. Airdrop between OS X and iOS requires BlueTooth 4 on both platforms. Thus, it won't work with older iPhone/iPads or with older Macs. As far as I am aware it works for all countries. You are following the instructions on that page exactly e.g. it's a new account that you are trying to create and you are selecting a free app in the store and clicking on 'create Apple id' when 'buying' it ?

TS4079 Does Siri work for anyone?

This is more a beef than expecting any real support, but does Siri really work for anyone except to read things aloud? If Siri is close 1 out of 50 times its doing good. I keep hoping that it has improved but the other thing it ever gets rights is when I complain to Siri about how bad it is.

TS1496 How does this work for a Mac Pro? Just did an update and my iPod video click is no longer recognized by iTunes or in finder but shows do not disconnect. What do I do?

I downloaded the latest update of iTunes 11.4 today - Columbus Day. Went on to purchase songs. Then attached classic iPod to sync. upon attached usb to iPod, the "Do Not Disconnect" message appeared. Waited a long time and iTunes would not recognize my iPod. (10 minutes minimum. Gave up counting) Shut down iTunes and restarted. Still no recognition. Restarted computer - Wouldn't start. Unplugged USB and then it started. The only way to get computer to start up again was to unplug - now I'm worried that I've just screwed up my iPod. Upon starting back up - plugged iPod back in - sell no recognition. Am I up a creek with no paddle now? My iPod- touch is recognized and I was able to update it successfully. With that being said, it took a heck of a lot longer than it normally does post update. Was this the update that no longer likes classic iPods?
I have a brain injury and the classic is helpful at night when I can't fall asleep and I can play soothing stuff to help calm my brain down. The touch is way to bright and can cause lots of bad reactions due to light sensitivity - way too much blue light to trigger issues. The click wheel doesn't take so many moves to get to what I need.
Thank you to anyone that can help save my classic. medical bills are high and I can't afford to buy a new one. Two hours later, my classic still says do not disconnect and my computer does not recognize.

1. Try Resetting the iPod. Hold Select and Menu for 6-10 seconds - until you see the Apple Symbol.
2. Use iPod Updater to restore your iPod to factory settings.
See if those two steps clear up your problem.

I found the following post on here - but it is too old for me to reply directly to it - however, this was a very good post and it worked for me and I would really like to get in touch with mikebob to see if the same thing would work for charging the iPad - his ideas really work. And does he or anyone know how to charge the iPad from batteries?

I finally managed to figure out the proper cabling to get the Verizon Mifi 2200 to charge using a generic USB charger. To recap the problem... The mifi device will only charge when using the supplied micro usb charger, or when connected to a computer USB port using the supplied micro USB cable. When connected to a computer, the device reverts to it's connected data mode, which turns off the wifi ssid broadcast and requires the Verizon access manager application to be launched. Most third party chargers will not work... including most 12V lighter to USB adapters, and most backup battery solutions.
Here is what is going on... Per the USB specification, Pins 1 and 4 are 5V power and ground respectively. Pins 2 and 3 are data+ and data-. In most chargers, pins two and three are tied via a pullup resistor to the 5V line. If you measure the voltage on 2 and 3 you will see around 3V, equivalent to a logic high state. This has something to do with allowing the device being charged to identify whether it should be in a fast or slow charging mode. More importantly, it is what the Apple iPod expects to see . So, anyone wanting to build generic USB chargers will probably implement this way in order to tap into the single largest device market around. Unfortunately, the mifi does not like the logic high on pins 2 and 3. I haven't yet sorted out why, but when it sees logic high on pins two and three, it refuses to go into charging mode.
The solution is to use a cable where pins 1 and 4 (5V and GND) are carried straight through. Pins 2 and 3 need to be disconnected from the charging source and shorted together at the Mifi end. If this was a miniUSB instead of a microUSB, it would be what is called a "charge only" cable. I have not found any vendors yet for a charge only microUSB cable so I went ahead and performed surgery on a standard microUSB cable. I took a standard USB cable, cut it and then connected it to a microUSB connector from an old Motorola bluetooth headset charger. Interestingly, the microUSB connector from the Moto charger already has pins 2 and 3 shorted together internally so all I had to do was connect 5V and ground and heat shrink tube the whole thing. With this cable I can charge the mifi from any generic USB port, including those on 12V lighter adapters, and rechargeable backup batteries. In addition, I can also connect the Mifi to my laptop to charge while continuing to access the Mifi via wifi.
Only word of caution... You really need to connect the Mifi to your computer using the standard data cable on occasion, say once per month. The reason is that it is only in this mode that you will receive notifications of S/W updates and/or the need to update your PRL. (preferred roaming list).

Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...

I recently got the airport express card and so far the internet connection works only half the time. I feel like returning the card. Could it be because I do not have the base station? I use a 54 Mbps wireless router. Is there any solution to this madness?

My wireless connection is still intermittent and there is no obvious reason at all. The only thing I can put it down to is that our electric supply enters the house in the vicinity of the powermac G5. I am very disappointed in Airport & wish someone at Apple would take more interest & suggest why it does not work all the time.

64 Bit Photoshop CS4 running on 64 Bit WIndows 7 - does it work for anyone?

Is anyone running 64 BI Photoshop CS4 running on 64 Bit WIndows 7 without any problems? Mine is totally unusable due to wild erratic brushes (clone, healing, eraser and more). I have had zero success with Adobe. Two weeks after posting a support incident, they finally responded with an answer that had absoutley nothing to do with my support ticket. Unbelievable. SO maybe I'll get another response in 2 more weeks.
I have another thread that explains my problems, but that is not the purpose of this post. For this I am interested in what configurations people are using with 64 bit CS4 and 64 bit Windows 7, especially, what graphics cards are you using in the situations where there are no problems. I will even buy new graphics cards, because I have to. I cannot work as is.
Is anyone using dual graphics cards successfully with 64 bit Win 7 and 64 bit CS4. if so, what cards?

PS CS4 does not support dual cards (or dual GPU cards) so the other card in the case is not being used.

Searching Photos is not finding text in the description. Does it work for anyone else?

I am attempting to live with the forced upgrade to Photos from iPhoto.
Generally, the features are an improvement. But there are some things that just are not working.
I had an iPhoto library with excess of 32000 photos, in 3200 events.
Now events are non existent. I cannot create new ones... just choose from preexisting ones.
But I digress. My photos did have searchable text associated with them. Either in the title (from the event name), in the description, or from keywords.
As things are now, only keywords seem to be searchable. (via the Search block in the upper right)
Is anyone else having this problem? Why?
I don't want to have to make a "Smart Album" every time I need to find something.

I can enter text and it finds words in Titles, Filenames and Descriptions for me.
How long since you updated? Perhaps it's not finished indexing?

Man this is a slow forum... seems not too many using FlashBuilder? If anyone has Builder 4 and the Facebook library with AIR connect v3.4 for Flex installed - could you please check out this simple script. This will just open a NativeWindow containing a Facebook login. On my machine the login and cancel buttons at the bottom are cutoff... and I don't know how to fix this. Have asked everyone I can think of thus far and have not received one reply. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. Here's the script:

Iphone4 mail push notification does not work for any email

Suddenly, I stopped receiving any push notifications from mail. I tried reset, deleting and adding account, toggle through all notifiction options, restarting the phone. I also have problem receiving notifications from facebook. rest of all app notification works fine. any solutions ?
