Flash Video Broken In 2.0.0.7111?

I had this problem with .6149 but was hoping it would be fixed with .7111. When I try to watch a video on youtube or vimeo I am able to watch the first video which will load perfectly fine. However, once I try to play another video, the browser freezes and becomes unresponsive. I have to swipe up to close it then the browser icon is permanently greyed out and the only way to get it back is to do a hard reset.
Anyone have this issue and more importantly know how to fix it? I have tried a security wipe with a fresh install and the problem is still present.

It seems to be any web video in general that crashes my browser. HTML5 video's also cause the browser to crash. Any thoughts on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Broken buttons on youtube flash video

Hi. I've been dealing with this issue since a loong loong time ago on many linux workstations, so I was wondering if there is a workaround. I could just use HTML5, but not all websites like showing embedded youtube videos using HTML5. And the playlist view in youtube doesn't support HTML5 too.
Sometimes it's broken, somtimes not. I'm using the latest flashplayer from arch repos. And by the way flash doesn't work on the native Linux Steam, but that's another and not important problem. Here is how it looks like.
    Thanks!

Could the difference be in the flashplugin being used?  If you are using Google Chrome wouldn't it be different than the stock flash in the repo.  Not that this solves the matter since I use the repo flash w/ firefox and don't have any problems.  Perhaps the op should try Google Chrome and see if a different flashplugin fixes his problem?

  • Flash videos embedded in Facebook don't appear when played

My computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Internet Explorer 11, and Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.145. I have Microsoft Security Essentials and an activated copy of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware protecting me from viruses and malware, and my IT department confirms that there is no malware infection playing a role here.
I am, however, having an odd and very frustrating problem with playing all Adobe Flash videos which are embedded inside of Facebook.com, including those which are shared from YouTube. Opening the same YouTube video in YouTube.com does not produce the same behavior - YouTube videos ALWAYS play fine on YouTube.com (whether embedded or full-screen), but NEVER play fine when they are embedded inside of a Facebook post.
NOTE: The same videos work EXACTLY AS EXPECTED in Firefox and Google Chrome, so this seems to be an IE-specific issue. This started back when I was running IE10 and has continued over into IE11.
Here is what happens in both Internet Explorer 10 and 11:
In my Facebook news feed, I locate a video I would like to watch. Before pressing Play, I see a still shot from the video with the Play icon transposed on top of the picture.
I click the Play icon to play the video in Facebook's embedded mode (where I can see other news feed messages above and below the video).
The picture disappears and turns to white (no borders, just white). Along the bottom edge of the video is a bar containing the play/pause, volume, maximize, etc. buttons. Behind these buttons I can see a faded-yet-moving view of the bottom edge of the video, but the rest of the video area is completely white.
I hear the audio playing, even though I can't see any picture other than that lower edge I just described.
If I click the maximize button at the bottom right edge of the video, the video opens to fill the screen and the video picture suddenly appears and runs as expected.
If I press ESC to get out of maximize view, the embedded Facebook screen (with the video again back to the news feed context) returns, but the picture goes white again just as in step 3, with the audio still playing as in step 4.
Right clicking on the offending video brings up a drop-down menu indicating that the video is using Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.145.
Other videos shared in Facebook, like those from vimeo.com, play without any problem in the same Facebook.com news feed view, regardless of whether they are in embedded or in full-screen mode. Only videos using Adobe Flash Player seem affected here.
    I have tried the following:
Uninstalled Adobe Flash Player. Reboot. Open Facebook.com, find the video in the news feed, which indicates that Adobe Flash must be installed. Click the link provided and install Adobe Flash from adobe.com. Return to the video in my news feed on facebook.com and click play. Same behavior as described above - no change.
Added facebook.com and youtube.com to my Trusted Sites list. No change.
Added facebook.com and youtube.com to IE's compatibility view, exited all instances of the browser, reopened. No change.
Checked for unusual browser add-ons - none found.
Cleared web cache, deleted cookies, reset browsers to default settings and default advanced settings - no change
Checked Windows Updates - all updates are current.
Ran full scans of Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes. No malware or issues found. No issues found with roguekiller, adwcleaner, and other malware-related tools either.
Any suggestions for me here? I'd really just like to click Play and see the embedded video like everybody else can. FYI, all other computers (running Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8) on my network play these same videos in IE9, IE10, and IE11 without the problems I'm having with this one. I'd sure appreciate any help you can offer!

Not that the moment.  It's not ideal, but you have two working options, which is better than none.
In all likelihood, the content providers are going to have to change code to accommodate IE11 and higher.  I spent a bunch of time this week reviewing some technical guidance that we're putting together for developers, but the long and short of it is that IE wants to developers to stop writing code that handles IE differently than other browsers.
IE has a history of not exactly working like other browsers, and for a multitude of reasons (including how JavaScript and Flash communicate to each other), developers as a standard practice wrote a lot of code to specifically handle these quirks in IE.
To get out of this impossible position where they want markup to be the same for all browsers, but having all of this code targeted specifically at IE because of the long legacy of being problematic for web developers, IE masquerades as something else and disables features like conditional comments that allowed code to target IE.
The net result is that a lot of stuff is broken in IE11.  We're working closely with Microsoft to be good partners and help them through this transition with a few technical changes on our end, but developers are going to have to change their code and/or update the underlying libraries all over the web.  This is not going to happen overnight.  Big content providers with more resources will probably move faster than smaller sites with less developers, but it's going to be months or years before all of this shakes out.

  • Flash Video in template child pages

I have created templates with editable regions for my
websites. When I try to insert a Flash video file (.flv) it wants
to put code in the header region and body region. I have tried
erasing the editable areas, making the entire header an editable
area, making the entire site an editable area. I've tried looking
on Google and the Dreamweaver Developers section (there is a link
to an answer but the link is broken). I unfortunately only have
Dreamweaver 8. If this problem is fixed in CS3 I'd be happy to go
to Kinkos and rent a machine. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Here's how you will have to manage this.
When you insert a Flash video on the page, several things
    happen -
    1. DW inserts a link to a javascript file in the head of the
    page.
    2. If you elect to check for Flash versions, DW inserts a
    call to that
javascript in the <body> tag of the page.
    3. DW then inserts a javascript call to the file (in #1) on
    the page at the
location where the Flash is to appear.
In a Template child page -
    1. The head region must have an editable region in it, so
    that the link can
    be inserted.
    2. The Flash check call will fail to be written to the body
    tag, since that
    is LOCKED by the template.
    3. The javascript will be written to the body of the page
    where you
    inserted the Flash.
Thus, 2 of the 3 elements should work fine.
My suggestion? Do it again, and do not select the check for
    Flash version -
    that should work for you.

  • No Audio for Flash Videos in Any Browser

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with Service Pack 1 which is a 64-bit OS.
I can play videos in all browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera) but do not hear any audio that use Flash.
Videos that use Apple's Quicktime work perfectly with audio in all 4 of these browsers!
If I download the Flash video to my hard drive and play it, the audio works fine.
I can play music on my desktop and all other sound works fine.
It is not my hardware; audio works fine.
This is the Flash Player that I have installed:
Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX 64-bit Version 11.1.102.62
Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin 64-bit Version 11.1.102.63
In the Control Panel – System and Security, there is an icon called “Flash Player 32-bit”.  I thought I had installed the 64-bit version.  Is this simply misnamed or a clue to the root cause of the problem?
The problem is with Adobe's Flash Player.
Audio was okay when playing a video in any browser.
I recently installed a suggested update, and then no audio!
This has happened several times in the past.
I have no audio until the next update, and then it works.
Next update, it is broken again.
    It's the Adobe installation.
My recent attempt to fix this problem:
Uninstalled Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX 64-bit Version 11.1.102.62
Uninstalled Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin 64-bit Version 11.1.102.63
Downloaded the latest Flash Player from Adobe
    Reinstalled the Flash Player
    Rebooted
Tried to run videos in IE8.  No Audio!
Tried to run videos in Firefox.  No Audio!
The solution offered in http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html is poorly organized and poorly written such that it is painful to follow the steps.  It is basically a 21-page run-on sentence.  Most importantly, it attempts to solve the problem by browser.  I don't believe that this is a browser-specific issue.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem that actually works?  Lot's of people have offered solutions on forums all over the Internet from the "turn on your speakers" to "edit the registry...".  I have not found one solution that works.  I have spent hours scouring the Internet and various forums for a solution to this problem.  There are thousands of people trying to solve it.  What is the solution?

    Carl,
This worked for all browsers! It was really easy to do as the instructions were clear and succinct.  The files that I downloaded for the installation were:
         install_flash_player_11_active_x_64bit
         install_flash_player_11_plugin_64bit
I referred to the wrong page in error in my original post.  I was looking at this page:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html
The above page led me to download and install the following file:
         install_flashplayer11x64_mssd_aih
Not sure what this file is or if it was part of the problem.  Thoughts?
Thank-you so much for resolving this issue for me.  Much appreciated!

  • Embedded Flash videos play on 32 bit Win7, not on 64 bit Win7, IE9 32 bit

    Hello,
I have two PCs.  One is running 32 bit Win7 SP1, the other 64 bit Win 7 SP1.  Both have IE9 32 bit and the latest version of Flash 32 bit, 10.3.183.7.  This page http://www.iorr.org/talk/read.php?1,999739 and others at iorr.org have embedded YouTube Flash videos.  On the 32 bit machine, they play fine on both Admin and Standard accounts.  On the 64 bit machine, the embedded videos are only visible on the Admin account.  Standard accounts show an empty box with a broken icon symbol where the video should be.  (Note:  not trying to use IE9 64 bit.)
I've spent a couple hours uninstalling and reinstalling Flash trying to see the videos on a Standard account on the 64 bit PC.  Nothing works.  Any suggestions?  Note that normal Flash videos work fine on the 64 bit PC Standard accounts.  Only embedded videos fail.
During this exercise, I noticed that the 32 bit PC has the Flash Player Control Panel under Control Panel->System and Security.  The 64 bit PC does not have it there, but I can manually bring it up from a CPL file in the SysWOW64 folder.  Not sure if that's part of the problem or a different problem.
    Thanks for your time.

I spent hours and hours on the same problem. My computer has a slightly different configuration. I am using Win7 32 bit, but experienced the same problems. Embedded Flash is working under Admin account, but not under other accounts. Many de-installs and re-installs, but nothing seemed to help. Until I found this internet post:
    http://superuser.com/questions/244316/embedded-video-is-not-shown-in-internet-explorer-9-r c-or-beta
The solution offered in that post solved all my problems. Hurray!!!
    Solution:
    * Open REGEDIT
    * Find the following key:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/x-shockwave-flash
    * Delete the key
    * Re-install flash
    * Problem solved (in my case)
In the replies of the above mentioned link another solution was given (in stead of deleting the key)
    * Right click the above mentioned key
    * Change the access rights and allow all users read access to the key (did not check this myself)
In order to keep the solution safe in this thread, please find a copy of the info in the link above here:
In IE 9 RC or in beta, the embedded video is not shown in the web page. I verified the security settings in "internet options". Did not find any issue. Please find the screen shot below. I am able to view the flash videos in Youtube. But, for some reason, in some sites the embedded video is not shown.
I don't have this issue with Firefox.
    UPDATE:
I am able to see view the embedded video in Admin account. But not able to view it in Standard account.
    UPDATE:
As it works as administrator, use Process Monitor and filter the Status on ACCESS DENIED.
This allows you to troubleshoot what key the iexplore.exe process can't access.
@TomWij, Thanks for the suggestions. The Process Monitor hint helped to nail down the issue. When run with standard privileges, it is getting "ACCESS DENIED" for reading the key
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/x-shockwave-flash.
When I elevated the privilege to Admin account, it did not have any issue. Then I uninstalled flash, deleted the registry key and then installed flash again. Now, I am able to view the embedded video in standard account.

  • Cannot transcode to Flash Video from Encore 3

I have recently purchased the Adobe Production Premium package and successfully prepared several Blu-ray and standard definition DVD's. However, whenever I attempt to output any of these DVD's to Flash Video by selecting Build>Output to Flash from within Encore 3, my menus transcode, but when Encore gets to my timeline video, the progress bar goes to about 20% almost instantly and remains there forever. I have tried several different types of video files including short Quicktime movies created in Final Cut Pro as well as other formats in the Encore 3 timeline. The result is always as given above. When this happens, I finally have to Force Quit Encore 3 because selecting cancel on the transcode give me an endlessly spinning beach ball.
I am running Encore 3 on a 8-core Mac Pro (Early 2008 model) with 12 GB of RAM and under Leopard 10.5.4 (latest version with all updates installed). I have successfully transcoded these timelines that seem to freeze Encore 3 using MPEG SlipStream so I know the files are OK.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there any solution to the problem? Does output to Flash simply not work under Leopard?
Thank you in advance for responding.
    Tom

For the benefit of those subscribing to this thread here is the latest exchange in the several-week long series of exchanges that I have had with Adobe Technical Support over the failure of Encore CS3 to output to Flash on the Mac platform. I think you will find it interesting that Adobe Tech support cannot even agree among themselves that this is a problem.

    Hello Thomas,
Thank you for contacting Adobe® Web Support for assistance with Adobe
    Encore® CS3.
I understand that when you try to export Flash® video from Encore CS3
that the trans-coding process freezes at 20%, and that you would like to
know if this issue will be resolved in the Encore® CS4 release.
First of all, yes you are correct, I inadvertently wrote CS3 beta when
I meant to say CS4 beta. Also, I was doing this test on the Mac. The
Export to Flash feature is included in Encore CS4. Here is a link to
the CS4 help file that describes the feature (copy and past into the
address bar of your web browser):

    18B75113a.html
I was not able to locate any documentation regarding a bug when
exporting to Flash from Encore CS3, and when I tested this function on
my Mac using Encore CS3 it worked fine. Perhaps a subsequent QuickTime
update, or the Mac OS 10.5.5 update corrected the issue.
Unfortunately I am unable to give you a definitive answer regarding the
functionality of Encore CS4. We are limited as to what information we
can give out during the pre-release period. The best way for you to
evaluate the software is to download the free trial when it is released.
That way you will know for sure if it has the necessary capabilities
    before you make a purchase.
I hope this information helps to resolve your issue. If you require
further assistance with this issue, please update your web case with
complete details, including what steps you have applied and any error
    messages you are receiving.
You may also call Technical Support at (800) 642-3623. We are available
    from 6:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday - Friday, Pacific Time.

    Adam,
Thank you for your October 2 response. In that response you stated: "I was not able to locate any documentation regarding a bug when exporting to Flash from Encore CS3, and when I tested this function on my Mac using Encore CS3 it worked fine. Perhaps a subsequent QuickTime update, or the Mac OS 10.5.5 update corrected the issue."
I am using Mac OS 10.5.5 and I am using the latest version of Quicktime (7.5.5). What version of Quicktime are you using on your Mac that properly works with Encore's output to Flash?
Please note that I was expressly told by Adobe Tech Support (and I have it in writing) that Encore's Output to Flash was broken in a Quicktime update. I believe that the last version of Quicktime that Encore output to Flash will work with is 7.3.x.
I will definitely test Encore CS4's output to Flash before purchasing.
Please do let me know the version of Quicktime that you have on your Mac that is working correctly in Encore CS3 relative to output
    to Flash video.
    Thank you.
    Tom"
I have not yet received a response to that latest exchange.

  • Is my flash player broken? Skipping green screen glitch with sounds.

    Is my flash player broken?
I'm getting a glitch with almost every video hosting like Youtube, Vimeo, vk.com etc. It's a glitch with green screen and the video starts skipping video in big parts, also making scary sounds, sometimes it starts doing it when the video is playing byitself,
sometimes when i skip on a particluar part. It happens to almost every video. I'm not sure what the issue is, I get it in Mozilla and Chrome. I reinstalled flash player 5 times, cleared cache, deleted browsing hystory, tried everything.
Please help. Here's the video of my issue:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVJm5ArYOh4

I did that, and worked. I was reading another thread and saw this (disabling hardware acceleration should work), then I restarted, and tried using HA and again green screen and crashing. Now I'm using without HA and so far, so good. I sent a report to AMD, because I'm using latest drivers for Radeons and obviously there is an incompatibility.

  • Flash Video Arrives in Adobe Acrobat 9

Adobe has released Acrobat 9. The newly released version now allows Flash Video contents, which makes it more powerful for business presentation.
Actually, the concept of using multimedia files in PDF documents is nothing new. In the previous versions of Acrobat, you are able to embed QuickTime video and other formats into a PDF file. But you need an external media player installed on your computer for playing the video. Now in Adobe Acrobat 9, video can be played within a PDF document with no need to have any media player installed. Thus makes it more convenience to share.
This is a challenging feature which will affect its surroundings. As we know, the similar program for business presentation, PowerPoint, now only supports video and SWF import. If you want to import an FLV file, you must convert the file to WMV, AVI, or MPEG, etc. which can be perfectly done with our product, Moyea FLV to Video Converter Pro 2.
The following passages are some notable features related to video import:
The powerful business version Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended provides more favorable features.
Deliver a compelling branded experience using PDF Portfolios
Create interactive, on-demand presentations with Adobe Presenter
Easily share video in PDF files
Share 3D designs and PDF maps
With Acrobat 9 Pro, you can insert FLV or H.264 video for direct playback in Adobe Acrobat® and Adobe Reader. New Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro even enhances Creative Suite 3.3 which is the indispensable toolkit for professional design and print production.
The Extended version provides even more powerful functions:
Easily adding audio, video, and quizzes to your PowerPoint slides and create rich, interactive presentations with Adobe Presenter (included)
Convert a variety of video formats to FLV for playback in PDF
Embed video in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint and convert to FLV in PDF
Convert 3D content to PDF for cross-platform sharing and collaboration
Combine multiple CAD formats in one assembly and save as PDF with Adobe 3D Reviewer (included)
Convert 2D and 3D designs from major CAD applications to PDF for use by extended teams without expensive CAD or viewer software
Create PDF maps by importing geospatial files that retain metadata and coordinates
In a word, Adobe 9 will totally change the communication and association of electronic files.

So I cannot see some flash videos on Firefox (like sites CNet & Disney do not work) which use flash. It does work on Chrome & IE.
    1. ALL Programs are the newest/latest versions.
    2. I removed and downloaded all programs- restarted the computer after each download.
    3. I have the latest Flash (according to the website) when I view the Adobe Flash Website on Firefox.
I don't know why some flash videos work...and some do not.
I am running Vista. All my programs are legit...and I do have McAfee running..I don't download porn, no viruses etc..  Anyone have advice?!!

    ok ok
I disabled firewall which - for some weird reason- allow it to play in Firefox. Videos played in IE & Chrome- but not in Firefox, until I disabled Firewall..weird.

  • When I try to play a flash video (like youtube) i have to click a flash button several times before it works. Why do flash videos not recogonize any clicks without several tries first?

When I try to go to a flash video, the video player never seems to recognize my mouse clicks without several tries.
It's hard to explain but if I'm at a youtube video and i place my cursor over the button that lets you skip around the video, the cursor will alternate being a cursor (like its not recognized) and a hand like its supposed to. It's sort of keeps flickering between the two if I move the mouse around on that little skip button.
I tried uninstalling firefox but it didn't make a difference. I noticed it after updating to the newer firefoxe updates. This does not happen under IE.

I would be most grateful for anyone's advice on this.

A discussion with Adobe support lends the idea that MPEG
layer 4 might be an issue. That since these videos come from DVD
perhaps encoded with MPEG layer 4 that that could be the reason tha
all of them have this problem. (Some were done using AVI - I have
to check and see if that makes a difference)
    BUT
According to the PDF from Adobe Design - Flash Video Encoder
Wizard - By Tom Green and Jordan L. Chilcott
Flash should be able to convert an MPEG4 file. (Well it does
but they all stop after 30 sec.) Now how do I solve this problem?
All the videos still stop after 30 sec.s

    Flash Video Encoder Wizard
By Tom Green and Jordan L. Chilcott
The first thing you have to understand about the use of video
    in Flash® is the original
video must be converted to a format Flash can read. This
    format is FLV (Flash Video)
and you can either use Flash, the Flash Video Encoder, or
    third-party software to
create the FLV file. If you use video-editing software such
    as Adobe® After Effects®,
you can also export the file as a FLV file. If you are a
    Dreamweaver® user, the current
    version of Dreamweaver—Dreamweaver 8—contains a
feature that allows you to add
an FLV at the click of a button.
The purpose of the Encoder, therefore, is to convert the
video file to the FLV format.
When you installed Flash Professional 8, the Flash Video
    Encoder application was
also installed on your machine. If you also have QuickTime,
    Adobe After Effects,
Avid Studio, or Final Cut Pro installed on your machine,
    they, too, were given the
capability to use the Encoder when it was installed.
If you will be converting a video to the FLV format, the
video must be in one of
    these formats:
    • AVI—Audio Video Interleave
    • MOV—QuickTime 4 or later
    • MPEG—Motion Picture Experts Group

  • Problem with Flash video in webpage

I've encoded a number of videos in the FLV format(using both
Flash Video encoder and Quicktime), using standard preset settings,
inserted in webpage using dreamweaver standard - Insert Media -
Flash Video. When I try to play the videos, online or testing in
browser, the video does not play the whole way through. It'll play
15 sec into the video and then stop, although it seems to have some
of the rest of the video if you play around with the controller.
I've looked on the Flash encoding forum (other people have the same
problem) and looked on the site for more info but cannot find
    any.

Have you checked to see if the FLV is the same size on the
    server as your
    local copy?

  • My Flash Video is not working in my webpage

Could you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
    I have dreamweaver CS3
I did use the Media option to insert the Flash Video content in my web page. When viewed in dreamweaver design window I can see the box, if I try to preview it http://www.stmarksavalon.org.au/public_html/pages/resources/TMPdwowk3qayn.php displays a 404 error.
I did upload to the host the .php and related files and try different  browsers and does not display even the white space  where the video means to appear
The original video format was MP4 I did converted it to FLV using the free software at www.dvdvideosoft.com
I did upload the encoded Flash Video (FLV) and the related files and the webpage
    http://www.stmarksavalon.org.au/pages/resources/videos.php

    Hi Melanie,
what I saw first is this:
That means. your *.flv-file is in your DW, ok, BUT, ist it on your server?
And are you really sure, that you did all the required DW-steps? In order you could control this I'll try to describe in detail from the beginning (translated from my German DW):
Create a really new subdirectory (not absolutely necessary, only to see/control the steps).
    Create a new html/php-file.
Work in designMode --> Insert Flash-Video.
    Search/browse ---> yourFLV.flv
Skin: Halo Skin 3 (min. width 280) ( it was my choice)
    width 640 ( it's my choice)
    height 480 ( it's my choice)
    I clicked all the boxes
---> And now away with all these files below (produced from DW) to your server.
Best you have a look with WIN-Explorer into your directory, to see all the files DW has created in your subdirectory and don't forget one):
    YourFlv.flv
    YourFlv.htm (or YourFlv.php)
    Clear_Skin_1.swf (my choice)
    FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf
Could it be, that there is only the "FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" on your server?
    Hans-G.
