Flash Video Encoder - Sizing Video

Hello
I have an uncompressed video at 720x486. I need to encode it
to Flash video at 640x480. When I import it into Flash Video
Encoder, I use the custom settings to output a 640x480 movie at
30fps and 550kbps using the VP6 codec.
Flash video outputs a 720x486 movie.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

I've never had a problem with videos not being resized... and
many times
I've made video thumbnails. How are you determining the
output is incorrect
anyway? I'd guess it is your method that is wrong - if the
encoder did not
resize properly this question would come up daily...and it
doesn't.

  • Flash video encoder changes video size!

I have a 1920 X 1080 MOV video that I encoded. The Flash video that is resulting is a 1440 X 1080 FLV. Any idea why it is squeezing the video like this?
    Thanks

Hey I got it mixed up..... This is Flash Media Encoder 2.
What I have is Flash Video Encoder CS3.
What additional features can I get with Flash Media Encoder
2? Can it still work together with my current CS3 suite?

  • Flash 8 Video Encoder, audio/video discrepancy from mpeg

    Two questions...
First, more urgently, I've been given an origianl
720xsomething mpeg format video, and I'm trying to bring it over to
flash... I use the flash 8 video encoder, which does a phenomenal
job of keeping video quality while vastly reducing file size, but
in this case, (unlike some others in the past) I'm getting a
bizarre discrepancy between the speed of audio vs. speed of
video... I can't find a way to force the mpeg (or flash encoder
software) to TELL me what the frame rate of the original mpeg is,
and even when i attempt to force it to 24 or 25 during conversion
to flv, it doesn't seem to bother matching it up to the audio...
when i take the result and export it from flash, i'll try, at 24
the video is going too fast for audio, but at 23 its going too
    slow...
and this SEEMs related to 2nd question.. I took about 15
solid minutes of video of a particularly nice sunset in
progression, with the hopes of compressing it down to about 30-60
seconds for effect... but it seemed like, no matter what frame rate
I tried to compress it to with the encoder, it just drew each frame
out to a set length, and even if i tried to export the flash really
fast, it remained at the epicly slow frame rate...
is there a relation? what am I doing wrong?
is there a way to detect the ACTUAL frame rate of the
original mpeg... is there a way to force the audio and video to
remained sync'd up? Seems the that problem is, if i go with the
default 'Same as source' I'm left to guess what that might be when
exporting from flash, as nothing ever actually tells me what that
source frame rate actually was! Is there some natural audio
compression business inside mpeg video that works fine for mpeg
video, but the flash encoder can't handle well? I've tried it with
about a billion different frame rate, audio data rate, quality, and
export settings, and have yet to get a sync.
    Thanks in advance!

I should have been more clear.
I changed the file name from .vob to .mpg and then tried to
add the video file to Flash 8 Video Encoder and received the
    following error message:
"You won't be able to encode this file. Your computer doesn't
have the necessary codec or the file is corrupt."
    Currently,
I use ffmpegx to convert the .vob to .dv and then, I import
the .dv into Flash 8 Video Encoder and convert it to a .flv....
I can use ffmpegx to go straight to a .flv, but the file size
is larger b/c the compression is different, not On2 VP6...
I would like to skip the middle step because my files are
very large and it takes extra time.

  • Flash Media Encoder for video files streaming.

Is there a free Encoder to play video files instead of Live video feed?
    Thank you.

Thanks - I know you can output; but want to use a file for input.   It's
like you want to pre-record and play back at the appropriate time as if it  is
    live.  Thanks.

  • CS3 Flash Video Encoder no sound

I have been using the Macromedia Flash FLV encoder for a very
long time, but now that I have upgraded to the CS3 Flash Video
Encoder the video gets encoded but the audio is always missing.
All my settings are the same as they always were and when I
encode an AVI to FLV the audio is missing. How do I fix
    this?

I to am having the same problem with the flash encoder. Added
a wmv file and a mov file to the queue and I get the same results.
I do however see the first frame of the movies. Cannot set in and
out points because the first frame displays while scrubbing.

  • How video encoder continunously

    Hello everyone!
I have a ADSP BF533 EZ kit lite and labview embedded for blackfin 2.5 module. I would connect Analog video input(composite video) and capture video frame then display on the my car GPS navigation with A/V input by running Videoecho example.
I was successful to build this example  and i can see video displaying on the navigation. But something i would know more:
     1. the video displayed is not continunously. I can see when i reduce the time delay for display it can change displaying faster. but it alway dispeared a blank frame before starting new frame.
    2. I am thinking that mean when Video Encoder actived, Video decoder was not actived? Am i right?. I want to display continunously the video. how i can do?
    3. Could i add any image processing algorithm in catched frame buffer then redisplay on the display?.
Here is code for pepople viewing.
Thank you so much for attention and please post your idea if it is possible!

    Hello !
    It is me again!
I would like to ask anybody that can i use BF_VideoEcoder(decoder)_enable(disable) for ADSP BF537 EZ kit lite. And can i config PPI0 for decoder and PPI1 for Encoder by using AV EZ extender board? beacause ADSP BF533 has only one PPI so that is might be the reason in my above post.
I have ever test with VideoEcho example for ADSP BF537 EZ kit lite by creating new project and config hardware for BF537 EZ kit lite and copy code to new VI and modify LED on/off control VIs for BF537. but te video out but dit not apeared.
Could anybody help me to solve this problem?
    Thank you very much!

  • Blank screen in Flash 8 Video Encoder with DivX

When using the Flash 8 video encoder to encode a DivX file, I
get a blank screen. No problem with the wmv files I've tried. this
is on two freshly purchased HP Windows Media Center XP PCs. Have
not had the same issue with our older Dell PCs, also XP(Pro not
Media Center). I have re-installed Flash 8 and the Divx codecs but
    still have the issue.
    Any ideas?

I have this option from right click menu - Convert to Mpeg 2
    and save.
By the way, does your CD comes with Sony Vega program?
This one is able to open Sony's raw file format and export to
    very nice
quality mpeg that works superb in flash. I did lots of video
    using Vega,
to adjust the sharpness, color contrasts and all, before
    start exporting and
    down sizing...

  • Flash Video Encoder Quit Unexpectedly

I have an Intel iMac and when I first loaded my Adobe Suite
everything worked fine, but then the Flash Video Encoder stopped
working with "Flash Video Encoder Stopped Unexpectedly" and I
cannot get it to work again. I deleted the files and reloaded the
program from the original DVD and that did not work.
When I was setting up a new user on my iMac, I tried running
the Flash Video Encoder in the other user and it ran fine, but when
I returned to the main user, it would not start and gave the same
error. I'm relatively new to Macs - a bit more than a year - so I
suspect it is some setting or preference or something that I have
    wrong.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.
    -Brian-

I am getting the exact same error on my windows vista x64.
I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling quite a number of
times with no luck. I don't believe it is anything done wrong but
has to be some kind of bug in the installation somewhere.
Also any help would be appreciated.

  • AVI - FLV with Flash Video Encoder

    Heya,
Whenever i try to encode Blizzards gameplay trailer of
Starcraft 2 to FLV, the program tells me that the movies doesnt
have a readable video track which seems to be a bit weird as it
plays fine in winamp/vlc player. To be honest the SC2 movie isnt
really the problem but it is just a general problem i encounter
with alot of AVI's outthere, would there be anyone around who
actually knows something about this problem? Is it a codec problem?
how do i fix it? or can i perhaps do something else?
    Thanks for your time!

you will need to re encode original video. Avi have many
different types of compression. your flv encoder probably does not
recognize it. Try re rendering it to avi with no compression for
settings. Then render to flv. Or you could try updating you version
of quicktime since flash encoder uses the same codecs as flv
    encoder.

  • Accessing Flash Video Encoder Programmatically

At the moment I am working on a batch program that will take
video files, and /encode them into FLVs. I would like to do this in
a programmatic (command line way), so that I can can embed this
    into a nightly batch process.
Can the Flash Video Encoder support this need?

As far as I know about FFMPEG, it does not encode using on2
vp6, which is the superior codec for flv. I too am looking for a
programmatic way of transcoding to flash using the on2 vp6 codec.
on2 has the Flix Engine SDK, which is quite expensive, but it
allows you to programmatically transcode using vp6.
If there is another product out there that can do this (at a
non-expensive cost) I would love to hear about it.

  • Flash Video Encoder

    Hi,
i hope someone can help me.
When i make flv file in Video Encoder (3 min) i see the
    process i the window.
But when i open Flash and Browse the flv file it stop after 1
    min.
I have make this before but now it´s problems.
    Whats wrong?

If you want to batch encode FLV files on a server (not
necessarily via a web UI), I'd recommend Sorenson Squeeze. You can
create batch jobs with watch folders. It works nicely. I believe
you can do the same thing with On2 Flix Pro too. You'll get better
quality out of these products as well.

  • Flash Video Encoder for WMV - DW8 vs CS5

    Hi,
I'm trying to convert a WMV file into Flash.  I know that this can be done using DW8's Flash Video Encoder ....but it seems this function is no longer availabe in CS5.
I would be grateful if someone confirm that this understanding is true.
    Many thanks

  • Flash Video Encoder Version Update

I have version 1.0 of the Flash Video Encoder. This came
bundled with Adobe Web Bundle (Macromedia Studio 8 - including
Flash Professional 8 and Adobe Creative Suite 2). I need version
1.2 or above in order to include metadata so my .flv files will
play in Captivate and on web pages. How can I get an upgrade of the
    Encoder?

You are mistaken about that I think. There is a Flash Video
Exporter for MX 04 that can go up to version 1.2. The Flash Video
Encoder that comes with Flash Pro 8 only goes to 1.0.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flash/mx2004/readme/fmxpro2004_video.html
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/flashpro/productinfo/encoder/
So, does Captivate say it needs V1.2 of the Exporter or the
    Encoder? I don't have Flash MX04 so I don't know the
    difference.

  • Video encode flashmx vs. flash 8

I tried to 'import to library' a quicktime video file to
flash 8. The first thing that goes wrong is that the file does not
show up in the list of files to import. So, instead I dragged the
file directly to the library. The 'import video' screen opens and
the path to the video file shows up correctly, but when I hit the
next button I get an error message saying:
'The source file yourVideo contains video in an unsupported
    format and cannot be encoded'.
What could be the problem here? I went back and used flashMX
to encode my video to a swf using the same quicktime video file and
it worked, so what's the problem with flash 8? I'd really like to
get it working with flash 8. Any suggestions?

    Bob,
    > I just completed a nice little project making use of the
    > FLVPlayback features of Flash 8. [...] Does anyone
    > know if these same features are available in Flash7
The FLVPlayback component requires Flash Player 8. The Media
    components
(also in the Components panel) work in Flash Players 6 and 7.
    Your success
will also depend on what FLV encoding you used. The On2 codec
    requires
    Flash Player 8.
