Flash video link not working

Hi all,
I am using Flash CS5 on MAC/OS10.6.
I created a Flash project a few months ago which was published as HTML and SWF. Everything ran beautifly until today. Infact it ran great yesterday. Now when I click on the HTML or SWF, the video controls are there but no movie. I had this file saved in four different areas, niether work now. what would cause this?
The movie file, and the skin file resdie in the same folder as the FLA file.
Thank you in advance.

Would you mind reposting this question over on the Flash Professional forums?  This forum is primarily for end users, the Pro forums will get you in touch with a wider developer audience.

  • Flash video has not worked with Firefox browser for years. When will you fix this?

Anyone who uses Firefox browser (for Windows or for Mac) knows that flash video playback ceased working sometime around Firefox ver 13 and has not worked since.
The Mozilla people say it is Adobe's fault - instead of fixing Firefox.
They say roll back to Adobe Flash version 10.
This solves the video problem, but then, any other services that depend on the latest Flash build, quit working properly.
This situation leaves millions of Firefox users in perpetual frustration. We can't use our browser of choice to view any web video built with Flash.
This is so unacceptable. I am unable to understand why Adobe and Firefox don't get together and iron out whatever code incompatibility is causing this.
I would really like to hear Adobe's explanation for this.

Uh... I don't know what planet you posted this from, but Flash video has worked flawlessly with Firefox for hundreds of millions of users here on earth, without any gaps since Firefox was still called Mozilla.
For the record, I have Firefox 28 with Flash Player 13 installed on:
    WIndows XP (SP3-64bit)
    Windows Vista Ultimate (SP2-64bit)
    Windows 7 Ultimate (SP1-64bit)
    Windows 8 Enterprise (64bit-2 machines)
    Windows 8.1 Enterprise (64 bit)
    OS 0.6.8 Server
    OS10.7.5
    OS10.8.5
    OS10.9.2
And I've had Firefox with Flash Player since 2003 on both OS formats. I've never had a compatibility problem.
I also use Chrome, IE, Opera, Safari and a few other browsers you probably never heard of (like SeaMonkey, Maxthon, Waterfox, iCab, OmniWeb)... Flash works in all of them.
I'd have to say the problem is with your system specifically, because if it was a Firefox/Flash compatibility problem, there would have been hundreds of millions of complaints about it, for over a decade. That... just isn't the case.

  • My Flash Video is not working in my webpage

Could you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
    I have dreamweaver CS3
I did use the Media option to insert the Flash Video content in my web page. When viewed in dreamweaver design window I can see the box, if I try to preview it http://www.stmarksavalon.org.au/public_html/pages/resources/TMPdwowk3qayn.php displays a 404 error.
I did upload to the host the .php and related files and try different  browsers and does not display even the white space  where the video means to appear
The original video format was MP4 I did converted it to FLV using the free software at www.dvdvideosoft.com
I did upload the encoded Flash Video (FLV) and the related files and the webpage
    http://www.stmarksavalon.org.au/pages/resources/videos.php

    Hi Melanie,
what I saw first is this:
That means. your *.flv-file is in your DW, ok, BUT, ist it on your server?
And are you really sure, that you did all the required DW-steps? In order you could control this I'll try to describe in detail from the beginning (translated from my German DW):
Create a really new subdirectory (not absolutely necessary, only to see/control the steps).
    Create a new html/php-file.
Work in designMode --> Insert Flash-Video.
    Search/browse ---> yourFLV.flv
Skin: Halo Skin 3 (min. width 280) ( it was my choice)
    width 640 ( it's my choice)
    height 480 ( it's my choice)
    I clicked all the boxes
---> And now away with all these files below (produced from DW) to your server.
Best you have a look with WIN-Explorer into your directory, to see all the files DW has created in your subdirectory and don't forget one):
    YourFlv.flv
    YourFlv.htm (or YourFlv.php)
    Clear_Skin_1.swf (my choice)
    FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf
Could it be, that there is only the "FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" on your server?

  • Flash video path not working on Mac

Using the Flash Video component in Flash 8 I place my .flv in
a directory called Video and then enter the path into the component
    as
    Video\myvideo.flv
When it runs off my web site on Windows XP all is well but on
a Mac OS X it fails to play. If I place the video in the route on
the web server and alter the file path to just myvideo.flv it
    works!
So is there a special symbol I need to use for the file
seperator to make it work correctly on both platforms?

Hi, Make sure the Shockwave Flash plugin is Enabled for one thing. I'm not familiar with Webcams so can't help you with that.
If you have Installed Flash Player then test at this site to see if you can see the animation of the Flash logo and what version is listed.

  • Flash video seeking not working properly

I reinstalled Arch, and I have a problem with seeking flash videos. I'm using the latest offical Adobe Flash player. When I seek (i.e. make the video jump to another point in time) a flash video, the video frame freezes. The playback continues though and the audio works fine. The problem occurs on both Firefox and Opera. The problem does not occur in all flash video sites. Youtube and YLE Areena are affected, Dailymotion and Vimeo are not.

There have been several posts recently about this. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=114594
edit: I didn't read your post correctly, sorry.

  • Flash Javascript links not working in Internet Explorer

    Hi,
I've searched through the previous discussion in this forum
but couldn't find the answer. I'm sure this is a common problem
    that can be resolved easily.
i have a site that has a series of thumbnail links that opens
custom sized pages via Javascript. Works perfect in Firefox, but
only 1 of the 10 links works in IE.
I'm using internet explorer 6 - pretty sure its SP2 (not at
computer to check - using works computer to post this message).
With IE, there is an icon on the bottom left that says "Done"
with a warning label on it.
How can I resolve this issue so the site works fine with
    Internet Explorer.
    Thanks

Can you post a link to the site? You say one link works, is
this working link set up the same exact way (syntax, etc.) as the
other 9 links? The warning label in IE wouldn't be from any code
that is contained within Flash, as IE doesn't load that code when
it loads the flash. So, that warning must be from the html/body
code of the webpage itself, not your flash document. If you double
click on that warning lable, a box should pop up that gives you a
    line number for the error.

  • Flash 11 links not working

Since I upgraded to Adobe Flash Player version 11.0.1.152, in 2 browsers, the cursor would not acknowledge any links and hover.  If you thought something was a link and clicked on it, it might work, but any hovering or cursor changing into the hand did not happen.  Once downgrading back to MAC 10,3,183,5, all is working fine.  Is this a problem for anyone else in version 11???
    Mac OSX 10.6.8

I understand your frustration with specific issue you were having with the latest release of Flash Player.  We would appreacite it if you could provide more information on the issues you had before falling back to the previous release.  This would at least allow me to try to reproduce the same issues you had and maybe help the rest of the community interested in your problem.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Someone please help. Flash embed links not working in sidebar.php

I followed this example over at workdpress.org and finally got Flash working in my sidebar at http://guntherportfolio.com
    (see http://wordpress.org/support/topic/234656?replies=3#post-1030341)
However, it works with Firefox but not IE7 or Chrome. I tried a number of WordPress plugins but none worked. Is there something wrong with my code:
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" id="someID" width="125" height="125">

publish your swf's html and use the tags and javascript in that html to embed your swf in another html page.  or use swfobject.

    Hello ak_kanan,
    Welcome to the forums.
Try doing the following. In the browser swipe down from the top and choose Settings, now choose Content, here where it says Enable Flash change this to Off.  Now try going to the website that was not working (it will not work again this is fine) Once on the page swipe down from the top again and this time enable the Flash setting. Now reload the page and test to see if you have the same issue.

  • Not all flash videos on websites work

    Hi guys,
First off all, I'm really excited because I made the switch to Apple and Leopard. Yay! But I have one issue I can't figure out.
Not all flash videos on websites work, for example: www.x17online.com
Sometimes it's a blank square and sometimes I see an image but I can't play the video. I have flash installed so what's wrong?
    Any help is appreciated!
