Flash Video not smooth when using Firefox tabs

I'm not sure whether this is a Flash Player problem or a
Firefox problem, but something in the integration leads to this
unpleasant experience.
I like to start a video and listen to it while I browse other
content. But when other tabs are loading, the sound from the video
gets some interruptions.
What is the root of this problem/bug? Is there any way to fix
it?
Thanks,
Julien

I am sorry to hear that you are having this problem with Adobe Flash in Firefox. I would be happy to help you get this problem taken care of. First in Firefox go to the [http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer Adobe Flash Player website] . Then instal it, after that close out Firefox just to make sure that it will apply. Then check to see that it is listed in the add-on list.
This should take care of any problems that you have been having. If not let me know and we will work from there. If it does fix the problem please mark this answer as the solution to the problem.

  • U/tube videos open when using Safari but will not open when using Firefox.

u/tube videos open fine when using Safari but will not open when using Firefox. With Firefox I get the unhighlighted Quicktime symbol with a question mark in the center. WHY?? Any help appreciated --- Toroya

Hmmmm, strange you view YouTube in Safari & not FF. Which version of FF are you using?
    Try the following:
    Repair permissions & restart.
Make sure you have the latest versions of Adobe Flash Player Software
QuickTime Preferences > Advanced > MIME Stettings > Miscellaneous.
    Deactivate the "Flash Media" option.

  • Flash player keeps crashing when using firefox ok using internet explorer

Flash player stops working when using various sites particularily ebay. It shows action script errors but not always the same one, If you dismiss and continue it usually starts working again but not always. Sometimes you have to restart firefox. I have latest firefox and flashplayer in fact problems seemed to start with latest versions. I have tried internet explorer and flashplayer is fine on all sites. I would like to carry on using firefox but will have to stop if problems persist. I am not a computer whiz kid so would not want to go through tests etc, i would prefer if Mozilla could sort this out.

The flash program for Firefox is a different version then IE.
First, lets update your Flash Player '''Version 16.0.0.305<br>https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html'''
If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:
    * see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers
    '''https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration'''
    * disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

    * disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • Why is my published site not operational when using Firefox or IE?

The original problem I experienced had to do with the fact that my published site's navigation bar was totally missing on each page and replaced with a "period" as described by the following thread... http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9899999&#9899999
The weird thing is that this problem only exists when using IE or Firefox on a PC (at work). Site is 100% operational using Safari on a Mac (at home).
Thinking my iWeb files were corrupt, I uninstalled and reinstalled iWeb '08. After doing so, I republished my site. The good news: the nav bar is now present on each page and operational. The bad news: my photo pages and blog page have zero content other than the header banner and nav bar. Again, this problem only exists when accessing the published site using IE or Firefox on a PC. The site is fully operational and all photos/blog entries present when accessing the site using Safari on my Mac.
What gives? Did a recent iWeb update (intended for iWeb 09 users or intel-based macs) corrupt my iWeb '08 on my PowerBook G4?

Please note that Java and Javascript are not related. iWeb uses a lot
of Javascript, not Java. There may be some issues with the Javascript
generated by iWeb -- I don't know. If it seems to work for someone
and not for someone else then it is an issue at the browser end, not
the website end. Each browser may not be handling the Javascript in
exactly the same way. (You gotta love standards.)

  • Flash video not reporting when finsihed

Using a flash video object in Flash 9 via netStream off my
local hard drive I am finding when my long video reaches the end I
don't get the expected NetSream.Play.Stop. I just get this from the
netStream.onStatus at the end of the video
    status : NetStream.Buffer.Full
    status : NetStream.Buffer.Empty
    status : NetStream.Buffer.Full
If I make a 10 second version of the video I do get the
expected NetSream.Play.Stop. I am using On2 VP6 and have tried it
as CBR and VBR bit rates.
Oddly enough as I switched to this web site to type this and
the flash movie was overwritten by the browser I suddenly got the
NetSream.Play.Stop! WTF is going on with this video object, it used
to do this in Flash 8, you'd think the boys at Adobe would have
made this system work better by now?
Any thoughts on how to deal with a unreliable video system?

  • My Hotmail login details only save in IE, but do not retain when using Firefox as broswer. There seems to be something in FAQ's, but can't resolve

When using IE, my Hotmail details, always save for next login (using the "keep me logged in" tick box).
Using Firefox to open Hotmail, my details are never retained and (using the "keep me logged in" tick box also), I have to put full details in each time, rather annoying....does Microsoft do this on purpose to retain IE users?
As mentioned above, there does seem to be something in the FAQ's, but even following this, i can't seem to get this to stop happening, so whilst wishing to use Firefox more often, for Hotmail access this is a bit of a pain!!!

I'm not sure whether such Hotmail features work with Firefox.

  • Slide transition not smooth when using a continue button

Hopefully someone can help me with this issue. I'm not new to Captivate, but cannot resolve this one on my own. I'm using CS4.
I've created a Captivate movie that has a combination of software simulation and simple slides that have a caption on them. The ones with the captions also include a continue button that pauses the movie so the user can read the information and then when they click the continue button, the movie continues. Simple enough. The problem is when I playback the movie, the slides that have a continue button blink when transitioning from one slide to the next. It looks like the background image (same on all slides) is blinking, which it should not. The settings are set not to transition, so it looks smooth.
The slides that do not have a button transition just fine, looking as if it is one continuous slide. This blinking is quite annoying and distracts from the smooth transition of the rest of the movie. Has anyone else noticed this, and have you found a solution to fix it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Stevie G

    Hi there
What is the Button programmed to do?
    * Continue
    * Go to next slide
My thought here is that if it's jumping to the next slide, perhaps try using Continue and configure timing so it may appear without the flash?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Why is the audio of MSNBC, YouTube and other site videos very low when using Firefox?

For several weeks now, when I view videos from msnbc.msn.com, youtube.com and other videos from other sites, the audio is so low....I can hardly hear it. But when I view the same videos using Google Chrome, the audio is very good.

Did you check the volume setting in the Flash player?
Do those Flash players have a volume button that opens a slider?
Clear the Flash cookies and settings.
    Flash Local Storage - http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html
The Flash object on that page shows the local storage on your computer.

I have a tablet Android v4.0.3 and I installed Firefox 15c - Aurora via the downloaded apk file

  • Video not working when using Airplay.

When I mirror my iPhone to my Apple TV to watch vibe TNT app why does the sound come through but not the video? The video came through at first but stopped working. When I shut the app down my phone screen shows up on the tv again.

If it is a website or a 3rd party app not all are enabled for video airplay. Each one is responsible for implementing the update.

  • Iphone 5 video, not smooth when played back in iPhoto?

Why are my videos all 'stop start' when played back in iphoto? Is it something to do with the size of the file it seems to be happening on video shot on 1920 x 1080 which is when I got my iphone. Are hey going to be ok when i place them in imovie?

Sorry, maybe I don't understand or I didn't explain my problem properly.
(I'm doing this project as a hobby so can't really afford external resources)
The demo involves filming industrial equipment, which is being monitored by a PC.
As the equipment runs, graphs and results are produced on the PC.
I managed to capture this, but when importing it into FCP AND playing it back, the picture is not clear. but when I forward frame by frame, each frame is nice and very sharp.
Could it be frame rates or?
I've seen many educational videos that show computer screen shots and I am prepared to pay for software that captures these shots, if that would help.
I don't really know how a "scan" would work.
Or maybe I'm dreaming that I can do this relatively easy.
    Thanks for your answer.

  • When using Firefox certain videos play but the image is green and distorted.. help?

Firefox 3.6.8 and 3.5 (I downgraded to see if that would solve the issue)
    Windows 7
    Intel Core i5
    Flash Player: WIN 10,1,53,64
When using Firefox certain videos play but the image is green and distorted. The image turns into lines and sometimes it half of the screen of the video. Examples are streaming MLB.tv video and some vimeo videos. The odd thing is that it isn’t all Vimeo videos. Is this a flash issue?
The issue does not happen with Internet Explorer which leads me to believe this is an issue with Firefox. I downgraded to 3.5 and the issue still persists.

There are a few reasons why youtube might be broken:
    * An extension may be causing the problem: try the steps at [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * ''Bad item stored in the Browser Cache'': Follow the steps at [[How to clear the cache]].
    * Firewall software is blocking some resources on the page: see [[Firewalls]]
If none of this works, let me know if Flash video from other sites work. Here are a few you can try:
