Flash Video not working; only get audio

i.e. I go to NFL website.  click on a video clip.  Commercial runs fine.  When the clip starts, black screen, only audio.
This started only recently.  I checked YouTube, video runs fine there.
I get the same problem, either IE 10 or Chrome (latest version)
Samsung laptop, Windows 7 Home SP1
followed some tips on Adobe website.  Deleted some Cache folders, etc, and still nothing.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Damon

I forgot to mention that I also tried to disable the 'hardware accelleration' in the settings of the player. Again, this did not have the desired result.

  • Ichat video not working only to one person

I've read most of the post on "i chat not working"; but has anyone had it to not work only to one individual. This is my case. I can video i chat with my son in FWB FL. with no problem. He has an Apple also. I can take my laptop to his location and video i chat with my sister-in-law in Jefferson Ga. But, I cannot video i chat with my sister-in-law from my location, Valrico, Fl. to her location in Jefferson Ga. I have had a 3 way phone conversation going with Apple, My internet provider and her internet provider and no one can solve the problem. Does anyone have any assistance they can provide. I'm not computer savy; so be patient and go slow and detail with me; thanks. Norm

More often than not this is about the way a modem or router or combo at either end use NAT.
    NAT is Network Address Translation.
It is the way a device shares an Internet connection with several devices/computers.
However NAT means different things to different devices and not all devices therefore are doing what is called NAT the same way.
See here for further mind boggling
So what you may have is a device at either end that does not or will not play nicely with another device.
This can be particularly the case if the device has to use Port Forwarding or Port Triggering or is using the DMZ to open ports.
Using UPnP reduces the problem in many cases.
    http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/page15.html#CertainBuddy
Telling us what devices in the way of Modems and routers each end is using may help us pint to what can be changed.
Makes and models please with what they are doing to open the ports for iChat.
As Defcom has pointed out with certain connection it can be the Speed difference in the Internet connection both up and down that can be a factor.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

  • Iphone 4 flash light not working.but getting a click flash only once

my iphone 4 with ios 6.0.1 led is not working even if i turn on in settings but it is working once if a picture is taken and is not working in videos eventhough it is turned on...
and gps navigation is not proper..can u help me
    thanks in advance

Sorry but I dont have a solution. I do however have a similar problem in that my microphone has stopped working since upgrading. Well at least it doesnt work when making calls, voice memos or skype calls. I have to speak directly into the mic for the person I am talking to, to hear me - and even then it is very feint. I dont think its a hardware problem as when I record video the sound it perfect. Although I have seen that some believe the video recording used the noise cancellation mic. But, I downloaded an app which is used to measure sound power which I confirmed that the bottom mic is working properly.
So this post is to add my voice to your concern really.
The worst part is, I did not save a SHSH blob to be able to downgrade to 5.1.1 so im kinda stuck.

  • Flash videos not working, show green screen

In all of my browsers (firefox latest version, chrome latest version, IE 8) flash videos on sites like Youtube and others will play audio but will only display a green screen (no video). I have updated flash "successfully" several times.
Also, I have tried uninstalling flash player several times but it never actually uninstalls, despite saying that the uninstall was successful. I have tried uninstalling on a clean reboot, with no programs running. What do I do?
EDIT: More info: On the adobe.com/software/flash/about page the flash video plays and the little box says "You have version 10,1,82,76 installed" so flash is definitely still installed. I also tried rebooting multiple times between uninstalls.

Hi, glad you solved your own problem  On the Uninstalling, removing it from add/remove or control panel/programs & features doesn't do it. In your case, glad it didn't since you ran the test, and Flash Player is working fine now(without the h.a)
If you ever need to Uninstall Flash Player, be sure to use the latest Uninstaller from Adobe since it changes each time a Flash Player Update is released.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
You can always find the latest Uninstaller just be looking at a few threads here on the forum.

  • Flash Video Not Working in LMS

    Hi,
When I preview my project, the flash video I inserted into the widget plays fine.  When I publish the project onto our Learning Management System server, the video plays fine.

    Works for me...
Are you doing player detection? Which player are you
    targeting?
Maybe those people did not have the correct player...
    This is what I do:
    1. I downloaded the player 7,8 and 9 player installers, the
    player
uninstaller and always have them handy
    2. Uninstall the player and visit the site to see it my no
    player
installer detection is working and what happens
    3. Install like the player 7 and see what happens
    and so on...
this way you cna debug your player detection and give the
    users the
option to either install flash or upgrade but never get a
    blank video box

  • Flash video not working after upload

Hi I have a simple flash site using MX8 pro with a small
imported medium res video clip. Works fine locally but not via the
site. I have confirmed its not a cache issue because I can see test
alterations to text colour. the content is all in the same
directory as per local content? Please advise! regards Mike

I have fixed this now, the reason was my host service
provider had to enable .flv extension in MIME settings on Windows
Server 2003; you would have expected that with all the automatic
updates pushed by Microsoft that this would have been sorted. I
guess it gives internet hosting service providers the choice to
allow steaming or not, the only problem is that many service
providers might not be aware of the issue. I got the answer from an
    adobe tech note via google.

  • Flash video not working in IE

I’ve been making a couple of websites that need to
stream a little bit of Flash video. So I put together a little
Flash video selector swf using the simplest code (it has nothing
more than go to and play commands on the buttons and stop commands
    on the timeline).
I’m also using the standard Flash wizard to stream the
video files using the low quality pre-sets on the transcoding.
I’ve used this method before and it seemed to work, but now
when I’m testing these sites in IE the Flash element seems to
crash all the time and freeze up the whole browser or the video
just doesn’t display. The weird thing is it usually plays the
first video but when you click the button to move to another it
    crashes.
Here’s a couple of sites that it’s happening on
    http://www.virtual360.org/v360/1.html
    http://www.virtual360.org/video.asp
    – they work fine in Firefox, but not in IE. Has anyone
seen this problem before? Any help would be much appreciated…

Thanks. I'm not clear where you're referring to. There are currently two object tags. One has <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash"...> like you describe. The other has a different format.
I'm not clear on what/where I'm supposed to change.

  • Flash videos not working on sf.tv

SF is the Swiss national TV channel. Their website has a main news portal and a video portal (http://www.videoportal.sf.tv). My problem is with the news portal.
They often embed flash videos into their news, but none of them will show up and play. I just get a blank space where the video should be. I'm mainly using Firefox, tried it by disabling add-ons like Adblock Plus or Noscript, without success. Same with Chrome and Internet Explorer. I played around with the Flash options, even used Adobe's deinstaller and reinstalled Flash, checked my firewall and antivirus software, my .hosts file, but the videos on the news portal still won't work.
Other websites like Youtube work without problem, as do the videos on SF's video portal.
My system is WinXP SP3 with an Intel onboard graphics card. I have no clue if the problem is on my side or if it's the website. Any suggestions how I could solve it?

    jklwcnflkasdjfnasjkf wrote:
The website isn't on the block list, I even added it as exception. I have Downthemall installed since ages, long before the problem with sf.tv started. As for Avast I already tried with deactivating all the functions, to no luck.
The reason I asked you whether you've been using DownloadThemAll for a while is because it resets certain network values in Firefox. You need to reset those back to their defaults if they've changed. To check, do the following:
In the location bar where you normally type in a URL, type about:config and hit Enter. (If you see a warning message, click "OK, I'll promise I'll be careful" to proceed)
In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following: network.http.max-connections
If the entry is in bold type, right click it and choose Reset from the menu.
    Repeat the same steps for the following: network.http.max-connections-per-server | network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy | network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server
Close about:config and then try and play your videos again.
If the problem persists, do the following:
Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL to open the Clear History manager. (See screenshot)
Checkmark all the boxes you see in the screenshot.
Change the option to "Everything" in the dropdown menu at the top.
Click the Clear Now button. It might take a minute or two to delete everything, so don't worry if nothing appears to be happening.
I should warn you that running this utility will delete site preferences and active logins. If you have a cookie manager installed - I use CookieMonster - all your cookie settings will be deleted, but the cookies themselves will remain in place. This means that on a site where you expected a cookie to be enabled, it will appear to be disabled the next time you go there. You simply have to re-enable it in your cookie manager. The data within the cookie will remain the same.
Running this utility can resolve many issues though and yours might be one of them.

  • Flash video not working on website

I created a Flash flv file and imported onto a web page. When
I tested it locally it worked fine but when I uploaded it to my
server the video was missing, as was the skin. Any ideas?

This is prob what you already know but i had this and this
helped. You have to make sure the flv file and the skin swf is in
the same directory as each other and make sure they are relative to
    the web page.

  • Buffer time in flash video not working

I am trying to give some videos in my site at least a 7 to 10
second buffer in order to prevent pauses. I set the time (7 or 10)
for the buffer Time in the Parameters box (it is also set to
autoPlay (yes) however, when the page is pulled up on the web, the
video starts almost immediately. What am I missing? (I don't have
an instance name on the video, would that matter?)

first, you need to end that onEnterFrame function, because as
of now, it is executing the function at the rate of you fps.. so
    start with
    _root.onEnterFrame = funciton(){
    _root.attachMovie("movie", "neoMovie", 1000);
    neoMovie._x=200;
    neoMovie._y=200;
    delete this.onEnterFrame;
i'm not 100% positive that will resolve this, as i've never
tried loading a flv into a movie clip that is attached to the stage
using the attachMovie method.. but that is a start..
p.s. make sure your linkage id is correct.

Just saw your thread, and it looked like a candidate for the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce Roll Back the Driver issue. If your computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card, then the following applies to you. You do not want to update the driver. Rather you want to roll back the driver version, probably to about May 2013. For your convenience I have done a copy/paste of the forum announcement which gives all the details and fix of the matter.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
A February 2014 overview of the situation as well as how to use the older NVIDIA GeForce drivers for the driver roll back can be found
    http://atr935.blogspot.com/2014/02/pe10-nvidia-video-card-roll-back.html
This matter has been very specific to the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce card user. So, if your computer is using other than a NVIDIA GeForce card, it is likely that the message does not apply to you, and we can then explore other troubleshooting possibities.
Looking forward to your follow up. Do not hesitate to ask for clarification on anything written here.
    Thanks.
