Flash video performance poor in Firefox 3 and other newer Gecko-based browsers; fails to detect mouse movement in full-s

Regardless of configuration, I have found Flash video
performance on Firefox 3 to be severely sub-par. Numerous visual
lags occur throughout a typical Youtube video as it cannot seem to
manage to maintain a steady frame rate. When in full-screen, mouse
movement is not detected, forcing me to click in a full-screen
Vimeo video in order to display its controls when I should have
only needed to move the mouse. I was informed that the technical
explanation for this is that Flash isn't triggering MouseEvents
other than MouseEVENT.CLICK.
In my tests, this behavior also occurred in Flashplayers 9
and 10 as well as with recent versions of other browsers that also
use the Gecko rendering engine, namely Camino, Flock and Songbird,
but not in Firefox 2. I was told by a Mozilla employee that this
issue can only be solved by Adobe.
This has forced me to use the Safari browser as my only
available work-around. I implore that these issues get resolved as
quickly as possible.

guys, im exactly experience the same issue here.. any
solution guys? tks in advantage..

  • No animation or videos will play from Firefox, but other browsers still work fine. I have checked plugins and even updated to the Firefox 14 beta - no fix

As of yesterday no animation or videos will play from Firefox, but other browsers still work fine. I have checked plugins and even updated to the Firefox 14 beta today, but this did not fix the problem.
this problem started yesterday; before then there was no problem.
I have updated everything I can find, and ran a system restore and disc clean.
The problem still persists. What am I missing here?

This happened to me too. This problem started suddenly with no changes made on my part. I had 11.2 Flash version with Firefox 13. I tried updating to the new Firefox, same problem, then updated to Flash 11.3. I even uninstalled RealPlayer.
I read a solution on another forum and it was as easy as clearing my cache. Everything works fine now (even after reinstalling RealPlayer and allowing the download button function).

  • Does CRM supports firefox and other browsers apart from IE

    Hi,
can you pls share if CRM supports firefox and other browsers apart from IE. are their any specific settings to enable other browsers?
    any documentation would be helpful.
    thanks
    RH

    RH,
From The PAM choose the link SAP Application Components->SAP CRM.
Then pick your release of CRM.  Then in the release detail information,  choose the web browser and/or web browser platform tabs.
I.e. I did this for CRM 4.0 and found that basically only IE was supported for IC webclient.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • How do I uninstall Firefox and other related files from a Mac laptop computer?

I want to remove Firefox and other files that may not be removed from my Mac laptop computer. How do I do this?

Firefox also stores personal data in the Firefox profile folder in two locations (main profile and cache files, see about:cache).
    */Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/
    */Users/<user>/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/Cache

In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.

  • Poor Flash Player Performance in Mozzilla Firefox

    Hello!
I have recently noticed that Adobe Flash Player has very bad performance in Mozzilla Firefox. The most common issue is with 4K YouTube videos. I have a GTX 770 graphics card, so there should not be any problem with these videos, and there is not any problem in other browsers. But for some reason, I get very low framerates in Firefox while watching 4K videos. I tried to reinstall Flash Player, but it did not help me. I have the latest stable Nvidia drivers.
What can cause the bad performance?

In all my systems i put that mms.cfg file; regardless of whether crappy flash thinks my GPU is capable or not!

You did not supply much information with your question:
#In Add-ons > Plugins, do you see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''"? If not, Flash is not installed for Firefox; see below
#You can test Flash on this Adobe page: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only and a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
#'''Using Firefox''', go to the following direct download link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)

  • Video runs slow on firefox and out of sync with audio with abode flash 12.

Ever since I installed adobe flash player 12 my videos run slow and out of sync with the audio it is like it pauses for a couple seconds and starts back working and keeps doing that.

    Hi jth10,
The troubleshooting steps provided by Adobe can be found here: [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_For_Windows_users]
    * Are there any settings in the Flash settings manager that changed when you updated? [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html]
*These are the recommended settings for specific resolutions [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/poor-video-quality-flash-player.html]
You can also try to disable hardware acceleration in the Adobe settings menu.

  • I can no longer get video to work on FireFox and this happened just after my update to version 13. Is there a way to fix this?

I went and downloaded FF13.0 and now I can no longer view video. At first I was able to view flash, mp4, etc video, then I went to see about updating Real Player and then every stopped working. I at first thought this was just a problem with FF13, but after trying also Internet Explorer I found the same problem. Is there any way pf fixing this problem?

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox 13 are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

  • Flash video is just awful - starts and stops

10.6.8 iMac 4Gb ram.  Main browser Firefox.
Flash video has gotten progressively worse with Adobe updates over last 3 months.  Used to run youtube smooth as glass.
Now yt video runs for a 30 sec then stops, restarts after 5seconds, runs for 15, stops for 5.  If you rerun the same video (see wrchd.com for Argentine Rally preview video), it stops and starts at the same spots.
I have Little snitch running a you can see a nice buffer load of data come in to start the video, then there is a period when there's no activity until it stops.  It sort of like Flash gets carried away watching its own display and forgets to get more info.
    Same results watching dailyshow.
I've tried turning hardware acceleration in Flash off and on with no change in performance.
So why does Flash fail now?
    Thanks for any advice.

Is the video starting and stopping or just the audio?  What OS, browser, and Flash Player Version are you using?  Can you also provide us with a URL to try out?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Flash video not loading in IE and Chrome

    Hi,
I have published a simple flash video page and uploaded it to my website.
It works fine in Firefox but in IE and Chrome it seems to load the first 10 seconds i.e the loading bar goes grey for a small section, Then the buffering comes up and the video doesn't load.
I've upgraded my flash player to the latest one. Cleared my history and opened my browser again.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks

i see the same problem with all three browsers:  that video won't play unless the an initial portion has already been cached.
to remedy, play and pause your video.  after a 3 seconds * bitrate of your video has cached, play your video

    Ref :
    http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/forum/Setup-Problems/9372/Hot-Link-Protection-Problem -With-FireFox

This is the most reported problem this week. Here's an entire thread of solutions that may or may not work:
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/776670
Looking through the thread, it seems like several different problems all manifesting themselves in the same way. Some people had to disable hardware acceleration in Flash, others had to delete their profile, and others yet just had to clear their cache... makes no sense.

  • Flash videos playing weirdly in firefox - malformed

I have had this problem for a long time, running through all versions of Firefox 3 (including the latest 3.5 preview releases).
I am updated to the latest version of Flash, and am running Windows XP (also fully up to date).
All flash videos play fine in IE8.
On some sites, while videos are playing, the picture flicks quickly between a normal picture and the effect shown in the screenshot - the usual image tiny, with weird blurred lines around it. This continues through the whole video, flicking very rapidly, and making the video effectively unwatchable. The effect remains even when the video is paused. I've attached screenshots below which should make the nature of the distortion clear.
I have experienced the problem most on Youtube (as I use this more than other video sites). The only other site I have noted the problem on is facebook video. Metacafe, Google Videos, Dailymotion, Vimeo and BBC iPlayer did not exhibit any distortion.
On Youtube, it is sometimes possible to play videos properly by switching to high quality, but usually it does the same thing, but flicking to a much larger picture, so it only seems to be blurry around the very edges.
I should also mention that embedded YouTube videos play fine on other pages.
My computer is pretty old - with an AMD Athlon Processor 996 MHz and 752 MB of RAM - but definitely has the capacity to play these videos, as it manages on Internet Explorer.
I created a thread on the firefox support forums before I came here - not much progress was made, but I should mention a few details of the only other reported case of this problem.
"Matt" seems to be experiencing the same problem on Firefox, also with a pretty old computer, but on Windows 2000, not XP. He reports the same problem on Opera also on his computer; I haven't tested this on my system.
Personally, I am at a complete loss with this problem - I have no idea how it can be caused, or fixed, and it's a major obstacle to casual web browsing. (I have to load Internet Explorer just to watch a youtube video!)
I really hope someone is able to shed some light on this issue; please ask if you would like any more details on my system.
    Thanks.
    (Ben)

    Hello all,
Yes to follow up Ben, I'm experiencing the exact same problems as him. I changed browser to Firefox 3.0.11 a couple of months ago and hence downloaded the Flash plugin for Firefox. I noticed the issue straight away in Youtube, but not on other sites. As I attributed the problem to Firefox, I then downloaded Opera 9.64 - but experienced the same problem. This led me to believe the issue was the Flash plugin, as both browsers are served by the same Adobe plugin for 'alternative browsers' to IE.
I then tried IE6 again in youtube and it didn't have the problem on standard view, however the problem was (and still is) occurring in full screen view. I'm nearly 100% sure this problem didn't occur before I downloaded the Flash plugin for Firefox / Opera. Regardless of whether that is the issue, the problem was definitely not happening on my system in IE6 earlier this year.
As Ben said, my computer is fairly old but well managed and up to date. OS is Windows 2000 SP4, system is AMD Athlon 900 (slot A), 512 Mb RAM, 16Mb Voodoo 3 graphics, m/board MSI MS-6191.
I've also tried removing the Flash plugin for Firefox/Opera and for IE6 and reinstalling it but had no joy there either. I would try an updated version of IE too but IE6 is the last version compatible with Win 2k.
    Any help appreciated, thanks.
    Matt

  • Flash Player constantly crashes on Firefox and Chrome, works on Safari

    Hello!
This is my first time posting here. I've been working on this all day and have made NO progress.
I'm on a Mac OS X 10.9.3 (this was also happening with 10.9.2, I applied the 10.9.3 update today hoping it would make difference).
ANY version of Flash Player I've installed today has worked fine on Safari, and not worked on both Chrome and Firefox. I've uninstalled reinstalled both Firefox and Chrome many times. Both browsers are up to date (Chrome v34, Firefox v29). There are no logs or anything ever.
The plugin runs for a little bit then dies. I've tried reverting to version 12, and version 11, neither made a difference. I've done the whole disable the pepper plugin with Chrome and had Chrome using the other one I had installed. No difference.
I'm OUT of ideas and can't find any other information or help with this. PLEASE HELP!

Your issue is distinct from the original poster's issue about a crash on Mac.  I've branched this out to a new thread so that we're not confusing everyone.
Firefox on Win8 isn't very stable.  We're collaborating with Mozilla on improvements, and my test results with the daily development builds are really promising, but it will be a few more weeks before they actually make it to production releases.
In the meantime, you're way better off using IE or Chrome.
