Flash video presentations

I've put together a number of multi-screen flash
presentations using stills and flash transitions and effect but I
have a 3-screen display to do which features full screen video on
each screen. I suppose the question is: Is Flash a viable way to
deliver at 800 x 600 30 fps high motion video or should I stick
with either DVD or some way to present 3 separate quicktime movies
simultaneously?
Flash works great on the 4-plasma screen display I have done
before, but that doesn't use video. Any thoughts? Much
appreciated.

I wonder... if some of the systems have Autoplay disabled? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-autoplay-settings#1TC=windows-7

  • Flash Video Presentation Help!

Hi all, how's it going?  I've been wanting to create a flash presentation similar to the one on the page of this website.  This is NOT my website by the way.  Does this require actionscript?
    http://cmonato.myprimosite.com/tour/the-product/
Is there anyone that can direct me to a good, professional tutorial that I can use to learn to create these types of presentations using flash?
I know it will take some time to learn and develop and I'm willing to put in the time to learn.  I just would like to learn from a professional tutorial and not some random, generic looking tutorial that doesn't really teach a thing.
If someone here can show me I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance and take care,
    Les

The flash in the web site mentioned below has a few concepts that needs to be understood.
Considering that you are a newbie to flash, I think the best and most professional help for learning flash comes from adobe itself.
If you need to know what flash is capable of doing and how to get comfortable using flash professional, I suggest you visit this link
    http://tv.adobe.com/product/flash/
If you want to directly jump into creating small animations and understanding the terminologies, I suggest you look into the following link
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/flash-in-a-flash/episode-1/
If you want help using action script 2 or 3 I suggest you use search for adobe flash live docs in google. Its similar to MSDN, but its for Flash and action script.

  • How do you handle global security settings so everyone on the network can view a desktop app with flash video?

I have written a desktop application that allows a user to view a flash video presentation.  I would like to put this application on a network drive so that everyone can view the presentation at their leisure.  Is there any way to do this without having each each user enable the location in their global settings?  Basically, if the location is not listed, then the video player I am using fails to play.
Thank you for you help in advance.

    I figured it out.
It's under the pop-up window. Select edit locations to select confirm.

  • Importing a Flash Video created from a DVD file into a presentation

We have a DVD recording that we converted to various formats, including SWF, AVI and FLA/FLV.  We want to use our LMS to track who has watched the video so we hoped to use a Capitvate Presentation and the SCORM feature.  I created a new presentation and used the Insert Flash Video feature.  The Flash object appears on the screen but it won't play neither after publishing nor will it preview in Browser.  I can play it in a plain HTML file, so I'm pretty sure it's not a problem wth the FLV file itself.  I also tried using the Insert Animation with the SWF version and it just hangs up Captivate and still nothing happens.  Clearly I am missing some critical step for importing video and while I've scoured the forum, I just can't seem to find a solution.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

What version of Captivate are you using ?

  • Interactive video presentation no flash

    Hello everybody,
I am a Visualization Artist and I used  to work long time ago doing website(I am a graphic designer too)  I been aproached by an old client asking me to develop a "Interactive video presentation" of a product for Engineering purposes.
The final output should be Web and CD to be used a promotional media.
My first option was Flash but he questioned that because he want people that uses Ipad and other tables be able to see in a web interfase.
The main idea is play a short video demostrating the produc and funcionality, then the user should be able to stop and play repeat a chapter or jump to other charpter of the presentation.
I own Creative cloud and some 3D softwares so I think I should be fine software wise, but my question is if there is something New in Adobe that I can use instead of Flash to produce something like this?
Can I do everything at once or I need to prepare a video for Web in Flash an other for a CD and some App for tablets everything separated?
any gidance will be much apreciated.

This may not be the most efficient way to do this, but you could have the mouse click incriment a counter, and on the last frame of the loop have a statement basically saying if the counter is greater than 0, then play the second loop, and set up another mouse event to incriment a second counter if loop2 is playing, so on and so forth.  Not exactly sure how you're planning to organize this, and what version of actionscript you plan on using so I can't really give you too much help in terms of the specific coding.

  • Flash Video Arrives in Adobe Acrobat 9

Adobe has released Acrobat 9. The newly released version now allows Flash Video contents, which makes it more powerful for business presentation.
Actually, the concept of using multimedia files in PDF documents is nothing new. In the previous versions of Acrobat, you are able to embed QuickTime video and other formats into a PDF file. But you need an external media player installed on your computer for playing the video. Now in Adobe Acrobat 9, video can be played within a PDF document with no need to have any media player installed. Thus makes it more convenience to share.
This is a challenging feature which will affect its surroundings. As we know, the similar program for business presentation, PowerPoint, now only supports video and SWF import. If you want to import an FLV file, you must convert the file to WMV, AVI, or MPEG, etc. which can be perfectly done with our product, Moyea FLV to Video Converter Pro 2.
The following passages are some notable features related to video import:
The powerful business version Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended provides more favorable features.
Deliver a compelling branded experience using PDF Portfolios
Create interactive, on-demand presentations with Adobe Presenter
Easily share video in PDF files
Share 3D designs and PDF maps
With Acrobat 9 Pro, you can insert FLV or H.264 video for direct playback in Adobe Acrobat® and Adobe Reader. New Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro even enhances Creative Suite 3.3 which is the indispensable toolkit for professional design and print production.
The Extended version provides even more powerful functions:
Easily adding audio, video, and quizzes to your PowerPoint slides and create rich, interactive presentations with Adobe Presenter (included)
Convert a variety of video formats to FLV for playback in PDF
Embed video in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint and convert to FLV in PDF
Convert 3D content to PDF for cross-platform sharing and collaboration
Combine multiple CAD formats in one assembly and save as PDF with Adobe 3D Reviewer (included)
Convert 2D and 3D designs from major CAD applications to PDF for use by extended teams without expensive CAD or viewer software
Create PDF maps by importing geospatial files that retain metadata and coordinates
In a word, Adobe 9 will totally change the communication and association of electronic files.

  • Is there a way to create either a flash video or wmv from Keynote?

I have a file that I am sending out to a group who are Windows users, and have included effects and audio. There is a good chance that none of them have quicktime and I do not want them to need to download it. Can I somehow create a flash video or other format that will play the presentation and not reformat out the effects, transitions and audio?
    Thanks!

You might check these guys out...
www.sorensonmedia.com They have a product called Squeeze for Flash, that converts any Video format into .swf or flv... And they have Demo's so you can try out their software before you buy... so try that...
Also, you can try importing the .MOV into your FLV directly (either to library or to stage) and export as a .swf and see if it works (in theory it should work without any "coding", simply import the mov into a new Flash Document and export MOVIE (.swf)... Then open the swf and see what happens...

  • Cp4 - Retain more than 1 Flash Video in slide to view independently

I have 3 rollover slidelets that each have a Flash video in each.  The slidelet that contains the flash video is 'not visable' - (options properties).
The concept:  The user hovers the mouse over one of three buttons.  When finding the one to play the button is clicked to displayed the slidelet and flash video.   The user then clicks on the video playbar to run the video. I 'loop' the video so that the video stays within the slide. I now want to select another clip, so I pause the open video and then click on another button.  What happens is that this action closes the slide and moves onto the next slide.
I want to allow the user to select any video clip and play them at any time without closing the slide and moving to the next slide.
Slide 1 showing the positioning of the buttons and rollover slidelets containing the flash videos
Slide 2 shows the published slide ready for user activity
    Kind regards,
    s9500aol

    Hi there
When you insert a Rollover Slidelet you get two objects on the stage. Just click OK on that dialog you posted and you will see. One object is the area your user mouses over. The other area presents what the user sees. The slidelet area has its own Timeline. You click the Slidelet area and it gains focus. You then insert the objects into this area.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Flash (video) results in kernel panic/unresponsive UI

I have a MacBook 4,1. Watching flash video (it is neither site nor browser specific) sometimes results in a kernel panic with associated message, and everything stops responding. Most of the time the screen instead freezes but the sound continues to play. I am able to move the mouse around, but not click on anything. No keyboard shortcuts work, though the caps lock light will go on/off.
One of these situations always presents itself within 30 minutes (of continuous, or very nearly continuous watching). I am yet to see the problem occur in any other situation. I have tried a full uninstall and reinstall of flash to to avail. About 2 months ago, the stock 2GB RAM was swapped our for 4GB. The Apple Hardware Test (inc. the more thorough diagnostic) reported no problems, though I can't find the original 2GB to compare to. I have Windows 7 installed under bootcamp and very rarely get BSODs or complete OS locks when using it.
To rule out overheating, the fan was forced to a constant ~6200RPM. The highest temp was on the CPU, which was still always below 62 Celsius (mostly in the high 50s), and the crash/lock occurred as before.
Any suggestions as to the cause? Or further troubleshooting techniques? Either would be greatly appreciated!

  • Can anyone tell me how to embed a flash video stream in html5

Can anyone tell me how to embed a flash video stream in html5. I have a video stream but would love to be bale to get it to run on ipads so would like to know how to embed the flash video stream in html5 http://www.ravedance.net

    Gary, thank you for responding:
    1) I know my "profile" indicates I'm on Mountain Lion.  I have not figured out how to update that.  I am using Yosemite and Keynote Version 6.5.2 on a 15" Macbook-Pro  (tell me how to update my profile, please - nothing I click on opens any kind of "edit" options)
    2) My 20 sec video does play in Quicktime.  I find nothing in the Quicktime Inspector about deselecting "start movie on click."
    3) in my slide presentation I can insert the video on a slide okay and if I click on it can get it to play, But I cannot seem to get it to play after a transition automatically.  Maybe it cannot be done.  Obviously I would like the entire presentation to play automatically without clicking on or between slides.
Again, thank you for you kind help!

  • Flash Video with DVD-like motion menus -- Is this possible?

    Hi all,
I just joined this gropup. I have some SMIL 2.0 presentations
with synchnorized multiple audio (several languages supported) and
video as well as DVD-like still and motion menus. These are
semi-transparent menus and actually are super-imposed over main
playback area (root layout in SMIL).
Can Flash Video has menus in it?
Can this type of a/v synchronization and menuing be done in
    Flash Video?
I don't want to write as SWF with menus since clips and # of
menus on screen and placement might be different from video to
video. These are for some training videos.
To give a background, in SMIL I have an application server
(Jboss) which is dynamically creating SMIL based upon database,
user inputs and menu selections. What is basically sent back to the
browser is SMIL page markup including playlist of clips up to next
menu point. Once all clips are watched and user selects menu button
to continue then a new SMIL is generated and processs repeated.
I am thinking off porting this over to Flash Video because
currently clients need RealPlayer (has SMIL 2.0) support to be
downloaded and installed. Another local app to manage!
    Any ideas or recommendations?
    Thanks and kindest regards,
    -Mark

You can build interactive DVDs with video and audio, but no Word documents (at least not as part of the interactivity). DVD SP can certainly be used to create interactive DVDs. The advantage is that interactivity will extend to DVD players, not just computers.
If you want very rich interactive content, with Word docs, PDFs, etc. Then the best program would be Director. However there are some caveats with Director.
    1) The learning curve for Director is extremely steep. You would be better off hiring a freelancer who already knows the program, then spending all the time learning all the ins and outs of the program.
    2) Director is essentially a dead program. Since Adobe acquired it a couple of years ago, they have made no upgrades of the program. Nor have they made any announcements on continued development.
    3) The content you develop will only be playable on computers, not DVD players.

  • Flash video, .4fv files in particular won't play in Firefox - Any one have any suggesstions? I already updated my Flash player and plays in Internet Explorer and Chrome

If you look at this page in Firefox, http://www.vpi-corp.com/Empower-Demo/index-iframe.asp, you will see that the html portion of the page loads, and if you right click in the white area in the middle, the Flash is present as well. I can view this page correctly in Internet Explorer and Chrome. I have tried to export the movie as far back as Flash 7.0, but will not resolve. I have also been able to see this video for a while in Firefox, but then mysteriously went away. Any help would be appreciated. I suspect some patch to the programming on this page will be necessary.

That f4v file is send as text/plain, maybe that is causing it

  • Inserting a Flash video and the Bandwidth Monitor

I am new to Captivate, and I want to be sure I'm following
some practical guidelines for inserting Flash video in my Captivate
    slides.
I know there are quite a few variables relating to practical
bandwidth usage--basically, we are creating elearning presenations
that will have "talking head" videos embedded within. These
presentations will be available for download via our LMS site, both
    within the US and overseas.
I have utilized Captivate's Bandwidth Monitor to gauge the
bandwidth hit each video slide is responsible for. However, I don't
believe the numbers I'm getting back: because I've set each
embedded video to "Pause slide till end of video", all the slides
are reporting the same length in seconds, KB per sec and Video KB
    numbers.
Can someone suggest a practical method for setting up the
videos such that the Bandwidth Monitor can interpret them
correctly? Can you also suggest a rule of thumb for maximum length
for each slide with an embedded video (320 X 240) in it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Carl

  • Buffering Problem with Flash Videos

We are having problems with the buffering of newly published FLASH videos (rendered using Premiere/Flash CS6 and using Windows 8 and explorer/firefox/chorme).   Non-Flash Videos appear to buffer fine.
An example of this problem can be seen at http://healthwatchusa.org/HWUSA-Presentations-Testimony/20130215-KY-House/20130214-kavanag h.htm

1.Default of bufferTime is 0.1 seconds. Try to set the value higher and see if that solves your problem.
2.If you set your component to autoplay, you could get rid of it and start the player if the VideoEvent.READY is fired
3.If you have any code inside your swf that tries to communicate with other domains you should set the "allowScriptAccess" value inside your html container from "sameDomain" to "always"

  • Flash video with cuepoints and skin does not work

Hi guys, i created a SWF file based on the template available
    here
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/vidtemplate_mediapreso_04.html
Basically the movie has navigation buttons on the left side
of the video display to enable users to jump to predefined sections
(topics) within the video. It also has the video controls under the
    video.
I imported my video as well as the sample provided in the
webpage above and the clip does not work in Presenter. I can see
the skin but the buttons flash and we cannot see the video. I'm not
a Flash or Presenter expert. Just wondering if anyone can help
troubleshoot this. We would really like to embed a swf with
navigation buttons into Presenter. is this possible? ideas
    appreciated.
    Thanks

I'm sure someone will post a workaround for you (there are about 4 or 5 different workarounds people have posted at various times). But I wanted to thank you for your post. My experience as a very recent PC to Mac convert has been frustrating, mostly due to Keynote. When I first started using Keynote I was amazed at what it could do. I spent a lot of time working on a project (several days) only to spend another several days trying to figure out why it wouldn't Export. I finally logged onto the forums and see that people have been posting about this problem for MONTHS. It's been very frustrating to say the least and is a major flaw.
Your note is the first indication I received that Apple is truly working on this issue. I feel for people who posted months ago waiting for an update every day. Like them, I sent a support email (not answered).Your note shows both hope and progress. Apple could really convert a lot of people if it got software like Keynote to work correctly. I'm still blown away by its power. But it's like owning a Ferrari with now wheels. It has a lot of power, but there's nothing you can do with it until you get wheels.
    Cheers!
