Flash video problems
Hello,
I have a flash video that i'm trying to place in my flash
webpage. It works fine on my computer but for some reason it wont
work online.
I thought it was because the program didn't know where to
look to find it but for the life of me i can't figure out how to
change that. If that is the problem at all....
So, if anyone else had that problem and knows the solution
i'd appreciate the help.
Thank you.
without more specifics or a url - same troubleshooting
applies. make sure all nevcessary files are
uploaded - all paths are correct and no illegal file names
are being used.

Flash Video problem on Adobe Connect 9
Hi Folks
having an issue I am hoping to get some light shed on - I am downloading content from an Adobe Connect 8 server and uploading to Adobe Connect 9 server in a seperate domain. All has been working fine except for Flash Videos - anytime I upload a flash video (FLV) format and attemt to access it eitehr directly on the server or remotly get a grey screen. Is there any particular add ons required to enable flash video to work with Adobe Connect 9 , using Flash 10, OS is Windows 2008 R2
thanks in advance
Paul CNope. Looks good though and glad you got it sorted.

For the last couple of weeks i have run into a problem with both U-Tube videaos and yahoo vodeos.
In the middle of the videao a pop-up comes on from either of two entities s.ytimg and d.yimg.
There is a lot of dialogue about this (per google search) but I still don't know if it a virus/malware, or an intrusive adverising site.
Adobe has very vague info on this (they disclaim having anything to do with it) but to me it is unreasonable for U-tube (google) or yahoo to actuallyendorse this .
I never click allow, but the thing is insistant and does not go away.
Any help? Thanks for the added information, but that doesn't alter the fact that Firefox is seriously crippled -- that is to say, useless -- as a medium for web video.
I don't know whether the assertion that Flash 11.3 is "buggy" and it is Adobe's fault is more true, than to say that Firefox 20+ is "buggy" with regard to Flash 11.3.
It seems both developer teams are pointing in the other direction to claim "It's their fault, not ours" and using that as an excuse not to fix the problem.
Since it is unlikely that the complaints of Firefox users is going to move Adobe to "fix" Flash, it seems to me much clearer that it is the obligation of Mozilla to fix Firefox so that it works with Flash.
Again, this problem has gone on for sufficient years, anyone would conclude that Mozilla should have fixed it by now.
What is even more annoying, is the way that Mozilla representatives who should know better, send people who report this problem and quite reasonably ask for a solution, off on 15 dozen different kinds of fools' errands for "solutions" that don't address the problem that anyone with any experience realizes is a basic conflict between Flash 11 and any FF version much beyond 18 or so.
There needs to be a consolidation of all the many different threads addressing this problem with a top-level advisory that all the proffered sub-fixes (blaming this or that setting or plug-in) is really NOT going to solve the fundamental Flash-Firefox video incompatibility.
We FF users are left with the unacceptable choice of abandoning access to Flash videos if we want to continue using FF for all its other capabilities and special features -- or we have to constantly be uninstalling Flash 11, installing Flash 10, watch our videos, then uninstall Flash 10 and reinstall Flash 11 to do anything else.
This is ridiculous.
When is Mozilla going to acknowledge and fix this problem? -
Flash Video problem on one particular website.
I am trying to play Progressive Download video on a website.
I do this
at least 20 times a month .. no issues. This one site will
not show up and
I have redone the page approx. 20 times with no results in
any browser.
The page is in my root .. the FLV is in a folder called video
.. the script
is in the Scripts folder. The ProgressiveFLV and skin swfs
are in the main
folder.
I use an identical configuration on other sites on the same
server with no
problem. It tests perfectly in localhost. But nothing shows
up on the
server.
and YES .. I DID FTP the scripts folder. I solve this problem
for people
every day of the week .. but I can't get this site to work.
Any thoughts?
http://www.otglifestyle.com/video1.html
On the last attempt, it actually crashed Firefox .. anyone
know what is
going on here?
Thanks!

Hello,
I am having problems publishing flash video in a http server.
I am streamming video from a server using a MediaPlayBack
component. All works well till this point. When insert the swf in a
html file and play it using the "http path" (
http://..../dilo.htm), the swf
doesn´t play the video. Altought .swf and .flv files are in
the same directory. But if open de html file using the IP path
(10.12.134.../dilo.htm), it works.
Can anybody tell me why is this happening? Any solution?
ThanksPlease work through the video troubleshooting guide.

6-15-2012 upgrade and browser flash video problems.
The 6-15-2012 upgrade for flash player v. 11.3.300.257 causes flash videos not to load in the firefox browser.
What can I do to remedy this situation besides rolling back to a previous version or disabling protected mode
permanently?
Flash content does not appear at all in my browser (firefox v. 5.0), and I do not have realplayer installed.
There is no crashing, error message, flash video content does not even appear. Changing browser settings and
preferences or disabling addons does nothing. This problem has never occured before the 6-15-2012 update.
The operating system is W7 64 bit.
Troubleshooting methods outlined on page http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#4468493 do not work.
Quote
"Finally, if these problems are blocking you from using Flash Player we recommend, as a last resort, you either
revert back to Flash Player 11.2 or temporarily disable Protected Mode. We strongly recommend that
Protected Mode is manually enabled once this issue is resolved." If I cannot resolve this issue then I
cannot manually re-enable protected mode. Again, is there any solution that does not involve rolling back to
an earlier version or disabling any sort of protection?RE: "We strongly recommend that
Protected Mode is manually enabled once this issue is resolved."
If I cannot resolve this issue then I cannot manually re-enable protected mode.
What they mean is when Adobe resolves this issue. So far, there's nothing the user can do if the protected mode is what is causing the problems.
If you look over the dozens and dozes of posts about this, you'll see that some progress has been made. The bug causing Firefox's "silent crashes" or crashes upon close-out has been duplicated, and according to some sources, has been "resolved," but so far, no patches or formal announcements have been made.
Since there seems to be a host of problems associated with Flash Player 11.3.300.257--conflicts with Real Player; constant crashes; excessive memory/CPU usage, etc.-- I'd imagine that Adobe will try to (hopefully) fix as many as possible in the next version.
In the meantime, we'll all have to wait it out using the earlier version or the new version that we--ourselves--have had to hack to disable "protected mode." Not knowing how vulnerable Flash Player is without the Protected Mode, I'm staying away from sites with Flash Content as much as possible. Unfortunately, since most of my browsing involves business related activities, and since many, many business related sites have some Flash content, this can be a challenge.

Hi all,
I know this question has been asked before, but I've tried
all the solutions offered and none worked.
I am using the command "Insert -->Flash Video" to insert a
video on a web page (using DW8). Plays locally, but not after
upload. Scripts folder and both the skin and
FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf file are uploaded to the appropriate
places. I've tried on multiple computers and in multiple browsers
and can't figure why it won't work.
Here it is on a
test page. Should play in box and flv file is only a little
over 1MB.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated. I'm ready to pull
my hair out.
Thanks in advance.Guessing here but, is there supposed to be a blabla .flv file
on the server
or in your code?

Flash Video problems on MAC OS X
I am trying to export a video from Flash CS5 and when it exports there is some artifacting. I discovered this issue in another disscussion on Adobe Flash Forums I had about Flash and After Effects, and someone using the same settings exported the video just fine (they were using a PC however). According to them I may have some interference from another program or video codec on my computer like ffdshow. I looked up ffdshow and most of the hits I got were PC related and didnt find it on my HD. I already went to Apples forums but know one responded. So is there a video codec that is responsible for this on Mac or this some Flash CS5 for Mac OSX unique issue? Is there a fix for it? Any MAc uers with FLash CS5 please repsond.
Thank you.
Here is the Swf of the Flash animation(from Flash CS5 everything works fine, the problem is in the resulting video export):

FLash video problem with flvs?
Hello I am having a problem with the 4 videos on
http://www.websconsult.com/cuthbert/site/case-profiles.asp
SOme, but not all, videos do not have the little playback
triangle underneath the seek portion, where you can scrub through
the videos to the part you want.
THey are swf files, into which flvs have been imported, with
the progressive stream option and the the built-in Flash skin
selected for them. I am using the latest FLash CS3. THe flvs were
converted from quicktime mov files., which I had brought in into
Final Cut Pro and edited some of the frames and then re-exported as
quicktime files, which were then encoded with the FLash CS3 Encoder
app.
Any ideas? THanks!Installed flash lite 3 onto my n95 hoping to watch porn from
my browser!
I guess that isn't possible yet coz it aint working or do i
have to replace the flash lite 2 i already have on there.
I say this because it was installed into applications, next
to the existing version , rather than overwriting it...
Will it just not work yet coz the phones aren't powerfull
enough (with or without FL3) or have i just installed it
incorrectly?? -
Hello,
I've just got my first MacBook Pro and I have a weird problem with Flash Player. I have Snow Leopard 10.6.4, everything up to date, and I have a problem when watching movies. The problem is current in both Chrome and Safari, but only with 10.1. I have tried several 10.1 versions and they all do the same thing: from 2 to 2 minutes, the video pauses for 2-3 seconds while audio keeps on playing normally. Version 10.1.103.19 in Chrome does the same thing, 10.1.102.64 same, but 10.0.45 is working perfectly.
I appreciate any help on the matter as nobody seems to know what the problem might be, and nothing seems to fix this.
Thanks.Try to disable Hardware Acceleration (Flash Player Settings).
If that does not help, as I know nothing about Mac OS, all I can do is point you to the troubleshooting page http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html -
I am trying to determine if I have a Flash Media Server
problem or if it is an issue with Captivate 3. I have a 22 minute
video that I am streaming using Flash Media Server. Some but not
all users are reporting that the video will be playing and then
suddenly stop and restart from the begining. There does not seem to
be a recurring time in the video that this is occuring. Anyone have
any ideas what might be causing this.
Thanks
BrianHi Brian
I would think one simple way to test would be to provide
simple access to only the video using a means other than Captivate.
I'm not sure if one may create a link from a web page, but if you
can, I'd try that. See if the same affected users see the same
issue. If so, you have effectively ruled out Captivate as a
potential suspect and you know it's probably related to either the
video itself or the streaming software.

Hello all,
I am consistently running into the following problem, across all browsers. Upon inserting a .flv file, no matter what skin I choose, I get only the skin buttons-the video will not load, despite the path being correct. It seems to work fine on a Mac-the problem is on PC XP.
(see attachment).Hi - I'm not sure why it doesn't preview locally the way it should... I seem to have the same problem. My only fix for the short term is to upload the files to the server to preview, and it should work for you. I think it has something to do with the settings for the flash player - there are instructions to adjust the flash player settings in the settings manager to allow certain URL's to display properly... instructions for that are at the following link: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04a.ht ml
Hope that helps...

I can't get this page to work. As far as I can tell, the
procedure I followed was correct. When I preview the file in my
computer, the browser plays the video, but it goes to a temporary
file in my computer. When I upload, everything seems to be in place
and the links are correct, but all I get is a white space where the
video should be. This is my first attempt at including an flv on a
page. I call myself having followed the procedure on Lynda, but
have gone obviously gone wrong somewhere, Now it is time to punt.
Any help is deeply appreciated,
Thanks,
JoeIf you browse directly to the loader swf,
http://www.jdcdemo.com/BLF8/FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf,
nothing happens.
This implies that there is a problem with that file....

I'm using DWCS3. Could someone take a look at the source on this page and hopefully give me some idea why the embedded video won't show, much less play, on IE and Firefox? It displays and plays fine in Chrome and Safari. All the scripts and everything else have been uploaded to the server. I'm stumped.
Hi Larry,
there is no problem with your video in my IE8, see my screenshot:
Maybe you just have to wait a little bit longer, so that your processor can show the video. If you want to correct something (my IE8 shows it in this manner), maybe you can increase the contrast of your text a little bit.
