Flash videos aren't playing properly
For some reason flash videos freeze constantly on firefox. I don't use IE but I have no problems with Chrome.
I tried to update firefox, update flash, disable all "un-necesary" pulgins, disable hardware acceleration and reset firefox. Nothing seems to help. The sound of the videos is oftenly played smoothly, but the picture updates only once in 2-5 secounds.
Having Win7 on my laptop. Hardware: Intel i3, 4Gb DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 3000.

Youtube videos do not play properly
I appreciate any suggestions with this problem. I have a Mac G4 laptop (PowerPC) running OS 10.4
Most web videos do not play properly on my computer, especially if they use Adobe Flash Player. (QuickTime videos play fine.)
I have had my internet connections checked by my provider, and the speed is very good, and the configuration is OK, so they do not understand why I am having trouble. When I try to play YouTube videos, I get a slideshow, with a new frame every 2 or 3 seconds. I have tried using my computer on my friend's internet connection, and it has the same problem. My friend can watch the same YouTube video perfectly well on his own computer, even though his download speed is much slower than mine.
I have already tried the following fixes several times:
complete uninstall of old versions of Flash Player
reinstall of the latest version of Flash Player. (My computer does recognize that the player is there, as I said, it just plays the video as a slideshow.)
Repairing permissions and restarting
resetting Safari, manually clearing cache, cookies, etc. (Although I also have the same problem in Firefox)
Downgrading to Flash Player 9
Trashing QuickTime Plugin.webplugin
Trying to trash all DivX files (I don't have any, it turns out)
making sure audio midi settings are for 44.1
trashing the Macromedia preferences folder
None of these things have helped me. Thank you in advance for any other ideas of things to try.Rogerskth,
Sorry, I wasn't clear. My computer NEVER played flash videos properly, with any version of Flash. Considering that Flash is maxxing out my CPU power (as measured by the Activity Meter) I suppose that slow CPU speed really IS the cause of my problem. Since you have a faster computer, and your computer used to play the videos OK, it seems likely that your problem is SOME OTHER mysterious problem.
Bungee33,
You might be pleased to know that in English we have the same expression as the German which you quoted
"we in Germany say, that a horse given as a present must not be critizised by judging the teeth in the mouth of the animal"
In English, we say "don't look a gift horse in the mouth." -
I have reset Firefox, completed all the steps in "flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites". And the video still won't play in full screen. It will play, but frequently stops or sound continues and picture freezes. I have noticed that if I continually move my mouse, it plays fine. All these videos play fine in IE and Chrome.
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
# Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
# Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
# Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
# Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know. -
i need help guys mi karaoke videos aren't playing anymore how can i download some drivers for it ?
Drivers? You need a program to run them such as K-Jams. Then you will need to check your connections from the laptop to the monitor and make sure your settings are correct in System Preferences.
Good Luck

Video will not play properly [audio plays well video hangs ] in Adobe Photoshop CS6 running on a Win7-64 machine equipment with a quad-core processor. Video plays properly in Lightroom 4 and Bridge CS6.
What is the solution?Hi Bill,
In addition to the material I supplied to Curt, the processor I'm using is an Intel Q 6600 running at 3.15 GHz. On the Windows experience Index which runs from 1 to 7.9. Both my CPU and RAM score 7.3. I am shooting video with a Canon 5D3 which uses the H.264 codec with a .mov file format. But my hardware does not seem to be a problem.
Yesterday I shot some video using the "IPB" compression method, and today using the "ALL-I" one frame at a time compression method and both ran perfectly fine in CS6. The video that will not play I shot in Europe with the same camera using the IPB compression. The file appears to load correctly, but if you try to move the time slider or press the diamond "start" button, the file-load Curly-Q appears and nothing happens. If you try to move the time slider, that too will hang. After some period of time, the time slider will jump forward, a new frame will appear and the file will freeze again. I did mix stills on the same memory card and subsequently corrected the "date created" time for the six-hour time difference between Europe and the US. That is the only thing that I can think of that may have caused some sort of problems. What are your thoughts?

Flash videos do not play.
I am using Windows XP Media Center Edition and IE7. I have Flash 10.0.32.18 installed and JavaScript is enabled. I have seperate logons (screen names) for each member of my family. Flash videos will play under the administrators screen name, and when using Firefox under any screen name. When logged on as one of the other screen names, flash videos do not play. In Youtube, this message appears: "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player." As stated above, this is not the case. It looks to me to be a permissions issue, but I don't where to change those permissions if that is the case.
maybe, you can check the "tools-option" on the internet explorer toolbar. and then enable javasript.

Flash videos won't play under one id
Hi,
I've looked thru many of the discussion here and am drawing a blank. I'm running Lion 10.7.1 on a MacBook Pro (older 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2G RAM) and have tried the following to get flash videos to work under my ID (e.g. NFL.com, Yahoo, YouTube).
Repair disk permissions
Uninstall and reinstall Flash (currently at 10.3.183.7)
Latest software updates applied
Reset Safari
Also tried Opera, Firefox and Chrome and videos do not play there either.
System settings, Firewall, System Preferences and Safari Preferences all seem the same under both ID's.
ClamXav security shutdown
Flash videos will not play under my ID. Now if I switch to a guest account these same videos will play.
Under my ID I get the loading circle on Yahoo and nothing more. On NFL.com I get the commercials but not the videos.
So clearly something under my ID is blocking this but I've got no clue what this might be.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.Flash storage was not at zero so that was not it. I'd checked those every time to make sure wasn't getting reset.
BUT...things have taken an interesting turn. After using 9.0 xxx versions trying to find a combination that would work on ESPN.com, NFL.com, and YouTube videos and finding that 9.0 r xxx would work on some but not all, 10 would not work on NFL.com, then finding ESPN stopped working (it had been for me previously) I started to look around a bit more. After many installs of different versions, reboots and so on, I now have all things working. The latest today was trying to install an older version of 9.0 r 115 as being requested by YouTube. The .dmg file was in a zip and I started it with a terminal window. When running that it displayed several error messages pointing to ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia which had a couple of directories dating back to 2008. The items there were
#SharedObjects
macromedia.com
www.macromedia.com
While I admit that I was pretty much giving up and was not as methodical about doing things as I had been previously (removing one thing, retrying, then doing the next), I ran the Flash uninstaller to remove the 9.0 r 115 verision, then removed these three directories, restarted my machine and then reinstalled the latest version of Flash. YouTube, ESPN and NFL videos all now work. I'm almost afraid to restart my machine. But I appreciate the help that all have offered and I while I cannot pinpoint the correction to removing the above 3 files, that seems to have done it. One thing to note too, was just prior to doing the above I checked the Guest account that was working on NFL.com and YouTube was not working today. I've not checked it again after getting my primary ID working but will do so and if an issue will post back.
I am happy that I'm able to finally see videos on the sites that I hit!! Yay!!
(of course I was close to convincing my wife to allow me to buy a new Mac, but alas....) :-)
OK - just checked the guest account and all three work there as well. So back to a good place. -
After automatically updated to Firefox 3.6.15 videos won't play properly
Recently when firefox was automatically updated to 3.6.15 suddenly videos won't play properly anymore. Vidxden videos used to play really well but now they don't load properly or not at all. All the other videos take forever to load and don't seem to be compatible anymore. I usually go to the same video sites and those don't work like they used to. I've noticed as well that hotmail is really slow and many pages won't load at all including windows live web site. It doesn't appear that 3.6.15 is very compatible with video play or msn sites.
Since automatic update to 3.6.15, I am unable to play videos on abc.com, and even on my News Feed page in Facebook. The error message says the video is being blocked by an ad blocker in my browser. I have not changed my security settings, nor have I updated any other software recently.
By the way, I did check the same videos (at abc.com and on Facebook) with Internet Explorer (same computer) and they played just fine. -
Why are my Flash Videos now not playing for customers outside my Domain?
Hi folks. Please help me out here. I'm using Adobe Connect v.
6 Presenter to develope technology enabled learning. I've published
several Flash Video files to my TEL server, which hosts Connect
v.6. They were able to viewed by students outside my USGS domain
and since about the middle of March, the videos will not start for
them. What the heck? If anyone can help me, I'd be much obliged as
I am do to start beta testing on a Presenter TEL course on May the
8th! Yikes!!
Also, my server is in an Active Directory structure where
Windows Downloads and patches are automatically loaded at a certain
time in the early morning. Not sure if a security patch is doing
this or not, but I would gratefully appreciate any assistance.
Thank you!!wolfeyes...
Not sure if this is the case...but, by chance, did you change
the videos to a different version of flash? Say converted to flash
8 versus flash mx. I know that in prior versions of connect, you
had to have MX as Flash 8 video wouldn't play...If they're the very
same video files that suddenly aren't playing...then I have no
answer...
Peace. -
HD Flash Video does not play smoothly on brand new Mac Mini
I just bought a new Apple Mac Mini (2.5GHz model with discrete 256Mb AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics card, OS X 10.7.3). One thing I bought it for was watching HD video on the BBC iPlayer site here in the UK, but I found that it won't play it smoothly. It drops frames, particularly noticable as the camera pans. I'm using Safari and the current 11.1 Flash Player, but I've tried the latest release candidate too (11,2,202,221). The videos are 720p 50Hz, H.264 encoded, 3.2 Mbps, and use 80% - 100% CPU, so it seems to me that I don't have hardware acceleration. Enabling or disabling hardware accleration doesn't seem to make a difference.
I'd like to test it with other HD H.264 Flash videos, but I can't find any. Can anyone point me to some? Not all video will have full hardware acceleration (stage video) enabled. Can you try the following link?
http://youtu.be/SHZFsJKlsuA?hd=1
I just gave this a try with Chrome on my Macbook Pro (15", mid 2010) and Flash used between 8% - 25% cpu, the average being somewhere below 15%.

Flash Video will not play anywhere.
In my hunt to solve this problem, I've come across a lot of
posts where people have embedded FLV files in HTML documents and
can play them fine on their local computer. But once posted to a
server, they will not play.
Well, my problem is similar except it won't play on my local
computer either. I'm using Dreamwever 8 and Sorenson Squeeze 3.1 to
compress my flash video. I have followed the steps outlined in this
tutorial,
and the end result just displays a white box where my video should
be. You can view my test
here.
The thing is, the tutorial's flash video works perfectly when
tested locally and on a remote server. And since all my code is the
same as the tutorial (and all the .swf and .js files were created
normally), this leads me to believe it has something to with my
.flv file. I have tried several configurations and compression
settings in Squeeze, but still nothing.
The FLV also works fine when linked into a SWF file using the
Media Component as you can see
here.
So is Sorenson Squeeze 3.1 out of date? Is there something in
the way it encodes the flash video that prevents it from being
played this way? Or is there some other (preferably inexpensive)
solution?quote:

I should have mentioned that I'm working on a mac, so an
encoder that would work on OSX would be prefered. Also, i tryed
that Riva program on a PC and it crashed on the first try and on
the second, it gave a warning that my source file would not work.
For now, I've worked around the problem by using Flash 8 and
embedding the .swf that links to the .flv file. But it would have
been nice to get dreamweaver's FLV player to work and bypass Flash
all together. -
Flash video screenshot before play
I have some flash videos (.flv) that just display a black
screen until the person presses play, how can I have it show a
still image of the actual video or define an image to be displayed
before the person presses play?
Thanks in advance.Or to put it another way:
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
It is suggested that you first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
You should also ensure that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2009-001. (N.B. Security Updates require both a restart and a permission repair.) -
Flash Videos Stall Before Playing (image)
For about a few weeks now, flash videos (specifically Youtube and Liveleak) have been stalling before they play. The video will be black for around 30 seconds before the video actually begins loading. Here's how it looks like:
Notice how all videos on the sidebars appear white as well. I have tried reinstalling flash (stops at 50% "Failed to Initialize," have to use offline installer), and playing the videos on another computer to make sure it's not my ISP. What else can I do?
Edit: Specs:
Windows XP SP3 32bit
Firefox 21.0
HIS Radeon HD 5770Using [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433 Flashblock] solves that.

Flash video won't play on uploaded site
I've seen this posted before but none of the solutions have
worked for me and I'm getting frustrated. A Flash video inserted in
DWCS3 plays on the local version and doesn't play once I upload it;
it's just a white box. The link to the page so you can look at the
code is:
http://www.crusadermedia.com/ectv/newswatch.html
There should be a video below all of the text; it does detect
that there is an SWF there, however. All of the solutions I've seen
involve making sure the script, FLV and SWF get uploaded, which
mine is. I'm thinking that it might be my file structure.
Inside of my main root folder is a "Script" folder which
contains "AC_RunActiveContent.js". The page in question is inside
of a folder called "ectv". This "ectv" folder also contains the SWF
files. In "ectv/Video" is the FLV file that got inserted.
In the code for the page, the script is pointed to
"../Script/AC_RunActiveContent.js", which is where it is relative
to the page. Go outside of the ectv folder and look in the scripts
folder. It still doesn't work though. I've tried all permutations
of moving them all to the same folder, etc., but with no luck.
I am using a DW template, which blocks the code to check for
Flash player since the head section is locked. However, I've
unchecked that box in the insert Flash video window. Plus, I tried
making a dummy page with Flash video not in a template and it's
given me the same problem.
Can anyone tell from looking at the code what's wrong?Hi.
I think the problem is the structure folders.
You said that you have a ectv folder which contain the
Scripts Folder, the
Templates folder, the Videos folder... Your pages are in the
root directory
of the ectv folder. The pages are lokking for the Scripts
folder as if they
were in its own folder. Try deleting the ../ from the
Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js to see what happens.
I hope this can help you

Win7 32bit Flash videos won't play
I have 2 PCs, both running Win7 Home Premium current with all patches as well as current versions of Chrome, IE9, and Firefox. My 64bit desktop runs Flash videos just fine with all 3 browsers. All was OK until the last day or two. Now my 32bit laptop runs Flash videos in Chrome, but will not run videos in IE9 or Firefox - they load the page where I should see that page that is white with the little puzzle icon in the middle that I can click on to start up the video, but all I get in IE & Firefox is a page that has normal stuff on the sides, but the video part of the screen stays blank black or blank white depending on whether IE or Firefox. I uninstalled both Shockwave and Flash layers, rebooted, and then downloaded/installed these two items from Adobe.com:
1 Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.268
2 Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6.5.635
And then rebooted again.
Still no progress on getting the videos to play. What to do??
Added 8/9/2012
Still wont play videos in IE9 or Firefox. Here's a link to a video that will not play (it plays OK in Chrome). http://www.revolutiongolf.com/home/video/1775566388001
