  • Illustrator and photoshop 2014 work perfectly, while Indesign crashes the entire operating system (mac osx 10.7)

    Hi all,
Recently updated to CC 2014, and while both Illustrator and Photoshop run perfectly, every time I launch Indesign it crashes my entire operating system, forcing me to restart the computer.
I'm running Mac OS 10.7. Should also mention that clean unistall/install did nothing to fix the issue.
Anyone else having the same issue? Please help.

    Hi Sumit
Why can’t I have any answer from Adobe? I bought a licence and now I can’t work with the software.

  • Flash video crashes on multiple browsers

    Hi all,
    My specs:
    eMachines notebook
Intel Core i3 CPU 2GB RAM
    Windows 7 64 bit
Browsers Installed IE8, Firefox 4 and Chrome
    AVG Free Edition installed
Shockwave Flash 10.3.181.4 installed for FF
Graphics Driver Intel HD Graphics Driver version 8.15.10.2119
I'm accessing the internet through wireless internet
I have been having a problem where playing flash video has crashed all the browsers I have installed. This issue has happened on multiple websites including Youtube and BBC iPlayer. It started happening out of the blue on 25th May 2011. There doesn't appear to be any microsoft updates added at that time and I did not install any new software on that day.
In Firefox the issue happens 100% of the time. After watching for a few minutes the video starts to buffer and then the browser completely freezes up before the frame greys out and the option to send crash report appears. When I reload the page the same thing happens again. Sometimes the audio will start to repeat itself with a delay of a few seconds before crashing.
In Chrome, the same thing happens except the built in plug in becomes unresponsive and the browser then freezes and reports the error.
IE crashes too although I hardly ever use it to be honest.
The things I have tried to fix this so far (without success) have been:
    Manually uninstall all Adobe products
    Uninstall all browsers
Delete folders and reg entries for flash and delete folders for browsers
    Reinstall software and flash
Run Malwarebytes (no warnings or bad files).
Run a registry cleaner. Nothing reported that seemed to be relevant to Flash or media playback.
    Uninstall Flash
Revert back to Flash 10.2 (I actually noticed a slight improvement when using  10.2 but cannot access embedded video in Facebook etc so wasn't a viable option for me).
    Disable AVG and try playback
    Unistall AVG and try playback
Uninstall AVG and Windows Firewall and try playback
Check for new video driver updated (there were none)
    Untick Enable hardware Acceleration
Allow flash to store content in Global Settings
I have not done a system restore and do not really want to do that if possible.
The only other thing I have noticed is that it has been difficult to install exe files from the web since this issue started (when trying to reinstall browsers etc). Windows was corrupting the installers for chrome and firefox as well as the Malware Bytes.
I have spent almost 12 hours of my life now googling and trying out different conditions to get this working and it really has me flummoxed! I really hope a kind samaritan can help me with some advice here. Thanks K

Hi,  You may want to go to this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/. Right click on the Flash logo, Settings,
then UNcheck the hardware acceleration in Display Settings.
Then make sure that in IE you have the Security Setting for the Internet Zone set to Medium.
    Hope that helps,
    eidnolb

  • How much space on the hard/flash drive does the Operating System use on the macbook

I Would like to buy a MacBook but the actual space on the flash hard drive is quite minimal. How much of this small space does the operating system use?

In order for Yosemite needs to have at least 10 GB of free space for the use of OS X and the things it does. If you have less then that the performance with start to degrade until eventually OS X will freeze up.
If you think you will be getting close to that you might want to consider getting and external disk drive where you can store some of your file such as music, videos movies and photos.

  • Flash Video Crash Frequency Becoming Alarming

I know that there is a final push to get FP 9 out the door by
the end of the month. However, I have to say that the frequency
with which my browsers are crashing, predominantly when the content
is Flash Video, is giving me some serious cause for alarm. In a
browser like Firefox, where there is one process for every window
you have open, losing multiple windows worth of work is immensely
frustrating. I have submitted this same issue via the Wish Form
several times as well, so this isn't the first I'm noting this.
    Here's my (seemingly standard) setup:
Windows XP Professional with SP2, fully patched
    Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519
    Firefox 1.5.0.4
Flash Player 9, beta 3 (IE: Version 9,0,0,296, FF: Version
    9.0 b296)
Major commercial sites where the browser tends to crash:
    CNN.com
    ESPN.com
In both cases, it is almost invariably any time one of the
Flash Video ads for Apple's new Mac campaign appears. Further, I've
noted that it gets to the point where the video looks to be done
loading and is about to play back. I went to a second machine that
had FP 8 installed, and the video played fine.
I'm a huge fan of the improvements that FP 9 is offering for
developers, but if I can't achieve stability accessing very common
web sites, I can't ask my customers to upgrade so that they can use
    my Flex 2 apps....that just won't fly.
I certainly don't mean to sound alarmist, but I know the
release date is near and so far I'm not

The Apple Ad Played in Quick Time for me and the CNN video
did not crash. Do you have a specific path to a specific video you
    can send as an example?
    Thanx,
    -Ken

  • Timeline for Flash with 64 bit operating systems

Has there been any timeline for when Adobe will put out a version on Flash Player that works with 64 bit operating sustems? I looked around the site and forums and couldn't find anything on it other than the fact that it was going to come out after Version 10. Approximately when might that be?

i thought the 10.1 version (beta 2) was to support  64 bit browsers..  Even on Windows 7 and windows vista.  Many Computer manufacturer's are now pushing the 64 bit versions of the microsoft operating systems which come equipped with the default internet explorer 64 bit version.
When will this version be available for download on windows 7 64 bit?
And if it is available (even as a beta) where can I download the flash player for 64 bit operating systems and browsers.

  • IDVD8 slows entire operating system - Normal?

    TIA
For some reason I am noticing > much more than before < that when using iDVD, during the whole processing periods, the operating system slows to a crawl, email, Finder actions, everything. When I try to use anything else, spinning ball of death runs and runs.
This used to be only with the Encoding Audio part.
I have 173 gig free space on my HD available
    4 Gig Ram
In the activity monitor it is using 220%+ of the CPU
My iMovie files are on one of my additional internal drives, and usually write the ready to burn final file to my desktop.

  • Why is Flash CS5 crashing on my system?

    Hi,
Just finished building a new pc (16GB RAM), installed Flash CS5, and it's randomly crashing.  I imported a bitmap and traced it into a vector image, making the file 198.9KB.  It is only one frame long, two layers (one is a guide, the other is the vector image).  If it's crashing now, I imagine it won't be able to handle much further ahead.  Why is this happening?
I tried looking into forums, saw discussions about scratch disks, cache amounts, all of which are supposedly available in the Perfomances option under Preferences, but I can't find any such option.
If someone could please help me out, that would be great.  Thank you.

In my experience CS5 was very stable. Chances are if you're only experiencing this after a full system upgrade (of which you almost certainly installed a fresh OS) then I'd bet on it being software corruption (OS or Flash, probably the latter), or some hardware you seated isn't playing nice.
If it's software corruption on the OS, other apps will be crashing as well. If it's specifically Flash then that install may simply be corrupted and a quick reinstall would solve that.
If it's hardware, that's a bit harder. It's very tempting to grab gobs of cheap (G.SKILL, PNY, etc) unmatched RAM these days. Even tried and true brands that are cheap are overlooked (Corsair XMS). In my experience (hundreds of systems built), RAM or an overheating CPU are almost always the culprit. A very distant 3rd and 4th place are motherboards and power supplies.
If I were to throw a dart at a possible hardware problem, I'd choose RAM that isn't playing nice together or CPU thermal grease that isn't performing well (CPU overheating causing crashes). Luckily both are easy to test, grab a copy of good ole' Prime95 and torture test your system. If any part of your RAM, CPU, FSB or PSU are acting up then it will fail tests. Then you know what the problem is:
    http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/
Don't sign up for the team or allow it to run while your system is idle. Simply uncheck all of that and ignore the team request. When you run it, if the torture test doesn't spawn a dialog to start, run Options->Torture Test:
Leave it at the default Blend test and verify it counted your cores correctly (I'm sure it did). For me, this old dev rig is an old i5-2500k which does not have hyperthreading so it only has 4 cores. If you have hyperthreading then you'll see double your cores (4 for dual core, 8 for quad, etc):
Click OK and leave the system alone for a while (hour or so). If your RAM has any issue you almost always see it error out within 10 minutes. Open your task manager to see it utilizing all available CPU and gobs of RAM while it tests.

  • Flashing Question Mark - Lion Operating System

I removed my hard drive and then put it back. When I boot the computer I get a gray screen with a flashing question mark.  Info I found requires an op disk, but I have lion and it is downloaded, what do I do to get my computer to boot?

    Try this:
    Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • Why does an update for iOS 7 require the entire operating system to be downloaded again? (over 1gB?)

Hi, i just got a message stating my recently downloaded iOS7 needs updating. When I go to do that, it begins downloading a ridiculously large 1.2 Gb file, but I thought it's only an update, seems ridiculous that one would be required to download such a huge file, especially when one is on a data plan with limited amounts of data......!?

Yes, I have. My system was completely cleaned of everything and I'm just now RE-INSTALLING CS2 for Windows2000 XP from the Adobe site that gives you versions to select for your OS. I have successfully downloaded disks 1,2 and 3 and I can INSTALL disks 1 and 2, but it FAILS at disk 3. I REALLY need to resolve this today because I need to submit some work by tomorrow and the troubleshooting isn't helping!
Can you advise anything else . . . anyone? Thank you!

  • I completely erased the operating system on an old macbook pro. Nothing is left, not even the base system. What to do?

This was stupid, I know. I didn't mean to do it that way, but the laptop (Macbook Pro intel core2duo 15 in) would freeze, was slow to load, and wouldn't let me partition the drive. I kept getting : unable to unmount when partitioning, or some other partition error. I didn't have much on it, so I know that the harddrive wasn't full or anything. I just had it fixed a few months back to boot with a whole new harddrive and motherboard.
I'm getting these same issues on my newer macbook pro come to think of it. this has all started happening to both laptops this month, only the older macbook pro was running snow leopard and the newer one is running mavericks. Nothing else other than my apple id is in common. i was able to erase macintosh HD and reintall mavericks safely without an issue on the newer laptop, but when i tried doing the very same with the older one, the entire operating system went missing.
Anyway, back to the old laptop. I tried loading linux mint onto it just to get it operational. I read on these boards to use rEFIt to load it. The laptop now has rEFIt when it loads, but it won't install anything or run anything else. Not linux mint, not ubuntu. Nothing.
I do not have any of the original disks. I know i can order them from apple, but I don't want to do that if it isn't going to load it anyway.
So i guess my question now is can I get this thing working again without having to take it to a repair shop for hundreds more? I'm trying to save money and have an extra computer for all of us to share. I'm working on my masters myself and the kids' schools are all about macbooks lately.
Please be gentle with me, I'm only trying to get answers and not insults.
    Thank you,
    N.

If you're wanting to put Snow Leopard back on your old laptop and you don't have the original DVDs, you should call Apple Support (800-MY-APPLE   USA) and order the version of SL that came with your MBP. You'll be charged a small fee.

In the event of a restore you reinstall OS X & then migrate the Time Machine backup into the new OS. The OS is returned to the same state.
