Flash Videos do not Operate
To begin with,
The computer is WindowsXP Pro SP2, with fresh NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT drivers version 295.73, and fresh directx version 9.0c
Firefox is a fresh new install, version 35.0.1 downloaded 2-4-2015 and virus checked
There have been no preferences modified with about:config
The user profile is new, all previous have been abandoned
Adobe Flash has been uninstalled, then reinstalled to the latest version.
All plugins are disabled except OpenH264 1.3, Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.305, and Java SE U75 10.75.2.13
Video players partially load, but video never even begins to play.
I can load up Avant Browser Portable and they work exactly right, on the same computer.
I can load Firefox 35 or 27 or whatever version on a different WindowsXP computer, and then the videos will work.
It is just the XP-Pro system that will never play videos in Firefox. I've tried all that I can think of besides reinstalling Windows itself.
How do I fix this problem?
Hi blebadef,
Thank you for the description and the troubleshooting steps in your question. I understand that Flash video partially load, but do not play, and it only happens on one operating system on the latest version of Firefox and Flash.
On the XP pro computer are your WebGL graphics drivers up to date?
Is the plugin set to click to play? ("Always Ask" would be the setting on the page)
Does it happen when Firefox hardware acceleration is turned off?
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
* [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
* [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.

Unable to publish projects with inserted video - error message The Flash video can not be loaded
I've created a project in Captivate 6 with two slides that have inserted videos in them
Both the videos were created in Captivate 6 by publishing those projects as mp4 videos
They play fine in the previews but when publishing I get the error saying the Flash video can not be loaded for both of those slides and in the output files the area for the video is blank.
I have checked that the videos are not open anywhere else as I saw on a previous post this was the issue but the only place they are in use is in the project I am trying to publish.
Below are my settings and the error message
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Your screenshot indicates you are publishing to a folder on a network drive.
Have you:
Verified whether or not the video file exists at the published folder location? (It should ideally be sitting in the same folder as the SWF that calls it.)
Verified that the folder location is set up as a trusted location in your Flash Global Security settings? -
Using Captivate 6, when I make any changes to an already published project that contains flash video, upon republishing I get a pop up stating "The flash video can not be loaded. The output may not be proper." It only happens when I make a change to a previously published project. Every time I encounter this problem, my only fix is to delete each flv and re-insert the video, and republish. Any ideas?
Hi there
You say it's intermittent. The bane of any troubleshooting.
Have you asked your server peeps to get involved?

Flash videos do not play.
I am using Windows XP Media Center Edition and IE7. I have Flash 10.0.32.18 installed and JavaScript is enabled. I have seperate logons (screen names) for each member of my family. Flash videos will play under the administrators screen name, and when using Firefox under any screen name. When logged on as one of the other screen names, flash videos do not play. In Youtube, this message appears: "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player." As stated above, this is not the case. It looks to me to be a permissions issue, but I don't where to change those permissions if that is the case.
maybe, you can check the "tools-option" on the internet explorer toolbar. and then enable javasript.

I've already published this particular project with multiple videos embedded with no problems in Captivate 6. I had to change one video and went to re-publish the project. Upon completing the publish, I receive an error message on EACH slide that has embedded video:
"The Flash Video Can Not Be Loaded. The Input May Not Be Proper"
There wasn't any issues with the project until changing the one video that needed to swapped out. I also tried publishing this in Captivate 8 to the same results.
Specs:
Windows 7 Pro
Captivate Version 6.1.1.240
Intel Core i5 25-20 CPU @ 2.5 Ghz
4 GB RAM
32-Bit Operating System
If anyone knows why this issue has presented itself and how we can get around it, much would be appreciated!
Thanks,
JonHi there,
Thanks for reaching Adobe Community. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.
I am a little confused here. Are you getting this error while inserting a FLV video through Insert option or inserting a video through Video > Insert Slide Video or inserting a new slide?
Re-linking means reinserting the video file. If you have already tried reinserting the video file, then have you tried inserting a different video?
Also what operating system you have on your system?
Thanks!

My Flash Video is not working in my webpage
Could you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
I have dreamweaver CS3
I did use the Media option to insert the Flash Video content in my web page. When viewed in dreamweaver design window I can see the box, if I try to preview it http://www.stmarksavalon.org.au/public_html/pages/resources/TMPdwowk3qayn.php displays a 404 error.
I did upload to the host the .php and related files and try different browsers and does not display even the white space where the video means to appear
The original video format was MP4 I did converted it to FLV using the free software at www.dvdvideosoft.com
I did upload the encoded Flash Video (FLV) and the related files and the webpage
http://www.stmarksavalon.org.au/pages/resources/videos.php
Ta,
SoniaHi Melanie,
what I saw first is this:
That means. your *.flv-file is in your DW, ok, BUT, ist it on your server?
And are you really sure, that you did all the required DW-steps? In order you could control this I'll try to describe in detail from the beginning (translated from my German DW):
Create a really new subdirectory (not absolutely necessary, only to see/control the steps).
Create a new html/php-file.
Work in designMode --> Insert Flash-Video.
Search/browse ---> yourFLV.flv
Skin: Halo Skin 3 (min. width 280) ( it was my choice)
width 640 ( it's my choice)
height 480 ( it's my choice)
I clicked all the boxes
---> And now away with all these files below (produced from DW) to your server.
Best you have a look with WIN-Explorer into your directory, to see all the files DW has created in your subdirectory and don't forget one):
YourFlv.flv
YourFlv.htm (or YourFlv.php)
Clear_Skin_1.swf (my choice)
FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf
Could it be, that there is only the "FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" on your server?

HD Flash Video does not play smoothly on brand new Mac Mini
I just bought a new Apple Mac Mini (2.5GHz model with discrete 256Mb AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics card, OS X 10.7.3). One thing I bought it for was watching HD video on the BBC iPlayer site here in the UK, but I found that it won't play it smoothly. It drops frames, particularly noticable as the camera pans. I'm using Safari and the current 11.1 Flash Player, but I've tried the latest release candidate too (11,2,202,221). The videos are 720p 50Hz, H.264 encoded, 3.2 Mbps, and use 80% - 100% CPU, so it seems to me that I don't have hardware acceleration. Enabling or disabling hardware accleration doesn't seem to make a difference.
I'd like to test it with other HD H.264 Flash videos, but I can't find any. Can anyone point me to some? Not all video will have full hardware acceleration (stage video) enabled. Can you try the following link?
http://youtu.be/SHZFsJKlsuA?hd=1
I just gave this a try with Chrome on my Macbook Pro (15", mid 2010) and Flash used between 8% - 25% cpu, the average being somewhere below 15%.

Flash Video will not play anywhere.
In my hunt to solve this problem, I've come across a lot of
posts where people have embedded FLV files in HTML documents and
can play them fine on their local computer. But once posted to a
server, they will not play.
Well, my problem is similar except it won't play on my local
computer either. I'm using Dreamwever 8 and Sorenson Squeeze 3.1 to
compress my flash video. I have followed the steps outlined in this
tutorial,
and the end result just displays a white box where my video should
be. You can view my test
here.
The thing is, the tutorial's flash video works perfectly when
tested locally and on a remote server. And since all my code is the
same as the tutorial (and all the .swf and .js files were created
normally), this leads me to believe it has something to with my
.flv file. I have tried several configurations and compression
settings in Squeeze, but still nothing.
The FLV also works fine when linked into a SWF file using the
Media Component as you can see
here.
So is Sorenson Squeeze 3.1 out of date? Is there something in
the way it encodes the flash video that prevents it from being
played this way? Or is there some other (preferably inexpensive)
solution?quote:

I should have mentioned that I'm working on a mac, so an
encoder that would work on OSX would be prefered. Also, i tryed
that Riva program on a PC and it crashed on the first try and on
the second, it gave a warning that my source file would not work.
For now, I've worked around the problem by using Flash 8 and
embedding the .swf that links to the .flv file. But it would have
been nice to get dreamweaver's FLV player to work and bypass Flash
all together. -
Flash video will not display properly
I've followed all the instructions on the Mozilla website, but Flash videos displayed within Firefox still appear pixelated and purple in color. The same site in IE looks fine. I have the latest version of Flash installed.

http://youtube.comFlash version 10.1.d51 (shown in your plug-ins as "Shockwave Flash 10.1 d51) is a <u>'''pre-release'''</u> version (not fully tested; should be used only by developers and qualified testers). You <u>'''may'''</u> be using a publicly released version in IE (the latest as of today is version 10.0.45.2). Open IE, click Tools, click Manage Add-ons, choose "Show" and change to All Add-ons, scroll down and look for Shockwave Flash Object, look for version column.
<u>'''NOTE:'''</u> Firefox and most other browsers use a plug-in version of Adobe Flash (and other software) while IE uses an ActiveX version of Flash which Firefox does not use. See: [[ActiveX]] . When updating some products, you need to update for Firefox and IE <u>'''separately'''</u>.
If you want to remove the pre-release version of Flash for Firefox and install the latest released version, the instructions are below.
<u>'''Remove pre-release version'''</u>
Try to remove the <u>'''pre-release'''</u> version of Flash you have installed for Firefox. Close Firefox, then, using Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, look for "Adobe Flash 10 Plugin", choose Remove. After the removal is complete, it is a good idea to reboot your computer to assure that the removal is complete.

-exit Firefox (File > Exit)
-check to see that Firefox is completely closed (''Ctrl+Alt+Del, choose Task Manager, click Processes tab, if "firefox.exe" is on the list, right-click "firefox.exe" and choose End process, close the Task Manager window'')
-double-click on the Adobe Flash installer you just downloaded to install/update Adobe Flash
-when the Flash installation is complete, start Firefox, and test the Flash installation here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507&sliceId=1
*<u>'''NOTE: On Vista and Windows 7'''</u> you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). See this: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/run_as_administrator.htm
*'''<u>NOTE for IE:</u>''' Firefox and most other browsers use a Plugin. IE uses an ActiveX version of Flash. To install/update the IE ActiveX Adobe Flash Player, same instructions as above, except use IE to download the ActiveX Flash installer. -
Flash video path not working on Mac
Using the Flash Video component in Flash 8 I place my .flv in
a directory called Video and then enter the path into the component
as
Video\myvideo.flv
When it runs off my web site on Windows XP all is well but on
a Mac OS X it fails to play. If I place the video in the route on
the web server and alter the file path to just myvideo.flv it
works!
So is there a special symbol I need to use for the file
seperator to make it work correctly on both platforms?Hi, Make sure the Shockwave Flash plugin is Enabled for one thing. I'm not familiar with Webcams so can't help you with that.
If you have Installed Flash Player then test at this site to see if you can see the animation of the Flash logo and what version is listed.

Flash Video Skin Not Loading in Firefox
Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble with a Flash
Video file. I'm helping a friend out by doing some work on his
webpage. He had a video that he wanted to put up on his news page,
so I converted the video to an flv and used the flv player
component to make a video player linked it. I uploaded the skin's
swf file, the player's swf file, and the flv to the same directory.
I made an iframe pointing to the player.swf file in the news
section of the site. I tested it in IE; it works like a charm.
Video loads, skin loads, and it plays etc... but in any version of
firefox, only the video loads and just sits there (autoplay is
off). What can the problem be? Link : (should work in IE, not

Once you can recover from the reporter's amusing slack-jawed mug,
please help me out!Actually, this occurred to me later this afternoon, but I use Gentoo, which normally builds from source (cuz I am hardcore like that). I uninstalled the normal build and reinstalled the prebuilt binary and everything works. I am happy again and just need to play around with the source build options, which I can do later.
Thanks! -
I can play flash videos, just not the ones on AdobeTV
I'm running 64 bit Windows XP, service pack 3. I downloaded the Flash CS5 free trial, and decided to look at the getting started videos. I can watch any flash video I come across on any other site, but for some reason the videos at http://tv.adobe.com/show/learn-flash-professional-cs5/ will not load. I already thought to update my flash player, but I have the latest version and the video still does not play. It shows the buttons at the bottom of the video, and it shows the three dots in the middle of the screen like it's loading, but it just stays that way forever without actually loading!
My bad, I thought the picture would show in the forum. The menu says:

So I have a problem loading pretty much any flash videos in
both Firefox and IE. The video will load to a certain point and
then stop, and nothing I do will get it load further, not even
refreshing the page. I have to close out of the browser and get
back to it to have any chance of watching more. On YouTube, I can
sometimes click further on to make it start loading from there, and
even that stops working eventually. It's really, really annoying,
and I'm pretty sure it's something with Flash and not Java. Anyone
else have this?Uninstall Flash
Download OnyX and run all the checks, maintaince and cleaning aspects and reboot at the end.

Flash video seeking not working properly
I reinstalled Arch, and I have a problem with seeking flash videos. I'm using the latest offical Adobe Flash player. When I seek (i.e. make the video jump to another point in time) a flash video, the video frame freezes. The playback continues though and the audio works fine. The problem occurs on both Firefox and Opera. The problem does not occur in all flash video sites. Youtube and YLE Areena are affected, Dailymotion and Vimeo are not.
There have been several posts recently about this. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=114594
edit: I didn't read your post correctly, sorry.
