Flash videos do not play.

I am using Windows XP Media Center Edition and IE7. I have Flash 10.0.32.18 installed and JavaScript is enabled. I have seperate logons (screen names) for each member of my family. Flash videos will play under the administrators screen name, and when using Firefox under any screen name. When logged on as one of the other screen names, flash videos do not play. In Youtube, this message appears: "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player." As stated above, this is not the case. It looks to me to be a permissions issue, but I don't where to change those permissions if that is the case.

maybe, you can check the "tools-option" on the internet explorer toolbar. and then enable javasript.

  • HD Flash Video does not play smoothly on brand new Mac Mini

I just bought a new Apple Mac Mini (2.5GHz model with discrete 256Mb AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics card, OS X 10.7.3). One thing I bought it for was watching HD video on the BBC iPlayer site here in the UK, but I found that it won't play it smoothly. It drops frames, particularly noticable as the camera pans. I'm using Safari and the current 11.1 Flash Player, but I've tried the latest release candidate too (11,2,202,221). The videos are 720p 50Hz, H.264 encoded, 3.2 Mbps, and use 80% - 100% CPU, so it seems to me that I don't have hardware acceleration. Enabling or disabling hardware accleration doesn't seem to make a difference.
I'd like to test it with other HD H.264 Flash videos, but I can't find any. Can anyone point me to some?

Not all video will have full hardware acceleration (stage video) enabled.  Can you try the following link?
    http://youtu.be/SHZFsJKlsuA?hd=1
I just gave this a try with Chrome on my Macbook Pro (15", mid 2010) and Flash used between 8% - 25% cpu, the average being somewhere below 15%.

  • Flash Video will not play anywhere.

In my hunt to solve this problem, I've come across a lot of
posts where people have embedded FLV files in HTML documents and
can play them fine on their local computer. But once posted to a
    server, they will not play.
Well, my problem is similar except it won't play on my local
computer either. I'm using Dreamwever 8 and Sorenson Squeeze 3.1 to
compress my flash video. I have followed the steps outlined in this
    tutorial,
and the end result just displays a white box where my video should
be. You can view my test
    here.
The thing is, the tutorial's flash video works perfectly when
tested locally and on a remote server. And since all my code is the
same as the tutorial (and all the .swf and .js files were created
normally), this leads me to believe it has something to with my
.flv file. I have tried several configurations and compression
settings in Squeeze, but still nothing.
The FLV also works fine when linked into a SWF file using the
Media Component as you can see
    here.
So is Sorenson Squeeze 3.1 out of date? Is there something in
the way it encodes the flash video that prevents it from being
played this way? Or is there some other (preferably inexpensive)
    solution?

I should have mentioned that I'm working on a mac, so an
encoder that would work on OSX would be prefered. Also, i tryed
that Riva program on a PC and it crashed on the first try and on
the second, it gave a warning that my source file would not work.
For now, I've worked around the problem by using Flash 8 and
embedding the .swf that links to the .flv file. But it would have
been nice to get dreamweaver's FLV player to work and bypass Flash
    all together.

  • Flash Player is enabled, ActiveX Filtering disabled, yet Flash videos will not play in Internet Explorer 11

I have enabled Flash Player in add-ons for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1. I also disabled ActiveX Filtering as instructed while trouble shooting... Yet, videos still will not play on webpages shown in Internet Explorer. How can I fix this, since I have already followed instructions from Adobe completely? Flash Player is supposedly already be installed in Internet Explorer 11, but it is NOT working.

Long story short, the video site is probably going to need to change their content before it works in IE11+.  I'd need some links to affected pages to tell you for sure (and even then, the complexity of websites these days makes debugging pretty painful).
In the meantime, you might just want to use Chrome for the sites that otherwise don't work.

  • Why are my Flash Videos now not playing for customers outside my Domain?

Hi folks. Please help me out here. I'm using Adobe Connect v.
6 Presenter to develope technology enabled learning. I've published
several Flash Video files to my TEL server, which hosts Connect
v.6. They were able to viewed by students outside my USGS domain
and since about the middle of March, the videos will not start for
them. What the heck? If anyone can help me, I'd be much obliged as
I am do to start beta testing on a Presenter TEL course on May the
    8th! Yikes!!
Also, my server is in an Active Directory structure where
Windows Downloads and patches are automatically loaded at a certain
time in the early morning. Not sure if a security patch is doing
this or not, but I would gratefully appreciate any assistance.
    Thank you!!

    wolfeyes...
Not sure if this is the case...but, by chance, did you change
the videos to a different version of flash? Say converted to flash
8 versus flash mx. I know that in prior versions of connect, you
had to have MX as Flash 8 video wouldn't play...If they're the very
same video files that suddenly aren't playing...then I have no
    answer...
    Peace.

  • Streaming flash video will not play automatically. Must move the mouse off the link

I have 4 computers, all running Win7. On every one, Internet explorer. 2 have firefox 3. 2 have firefox 4. When clicking a link on a website that has live streaming video (flash) - the stream changes to the next one and the video feed begins right away. Works fine on all 4 computers in IE, and in both Firefox 3. The video starts when the mouse is clicked, or when the screen is refreshed. On both computers with firefox4 - the mouse click loads the new feed, but the video hangs on a white screen until the mouse pointer moves. same problem when the feeds are set to auto-rotate. they load every 30 seconds, but unless I physically move the mouse, no video plays (or click the 'next feed' button again, which gives a split-second peek at the video feed I am navigating away from), I need to monitor many security cameras, and this is excruciating. Safe mode does not help. I have the newest versions of everything. please tell me this is a bug and not someone's bright idea

  • Certain Flash Videos Will Not Play (e.g. uStream live)

I'm having trouble getting certain videos to play. None of the live feeds on www.ustream.tv work. Nor do the videos on www.mtv.ca, nor those on www.kelbytraining.com. They all used to work just fine. Now, I just get a perpetual loading graphic. They all work fine in IE.
I've read the other threads relating to this and no luck. I've cleared my Macromedia and Adobe Flash Player caches in the %appdata% folder, cleared everything using CCleaner, disabled hardware acceleration in the flash player settings, disabled all of my plug-ins, permitted all inbound and outbound connections in my Panda firewall, disabled Panda firewall entirely, updated my flash player, updated firefox...and nothing seems to solve it.
Can someone please use your witchcraft to make it work again?
    Thanks

You can try to check in a [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles new profile]. Additionally, please also deselect '''Use hardware acceleration when available''' in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''Advanced''' > '''General'''. If the new profile is okay, you can later [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile?s=profile&r=1&e=sph&as=s copy the needed personal data] from the old profile. A new profile would have the default Firefox settings ('''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window '''Options'''], and [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config about:config] ), and usually would also be empty of any '''Extensions''' and themes ('''Appearance''') in Tools > Add-ons) and their settings. You can try to compare the three systems' performance here: http://pingtest.net/
Not sure, but if Panda uses LSP, possible LSP corruption can hit network performance. • Flash videos won't play under one id

    Hi,
I've looked thru many of the discussion here and am drawing a blank.  I'm running Lion 10.7.1 on a MacBook Pro (older 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2G RAM) and have tried the following to get flash videos to work under my ID (e.g. NFL.com, Yahoo, YouTube).
         Repair disk permissions
Uninstall and reinstall Flash (currently at 10.3.183.7)
         Latest software updates applied
         Reset Safari
Also tried Opera, Firefox and Chrome and videos do not play there either.
System settings, Firewall, System Preferences and Safari Preferences all seem the same under both ID's.
         ClamXav security shutdown
Flash videos will not play under my ID.  Now if I switch to a guest account these same videos will play.
Under my ID I get the loading circle on Yahoo and nothing more.  On NFL.com I get the commercials but not the videos.
So clearly something under my ID is blocking this but I've got no clue what this might be.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Flash storage was not at zero so that was not it.  I'd checked those every time to make sure wasn't getting reset.
BUT...things have taken an interesting turn.  After using 9.0 xxx versions trying to find a combination that would work on ESPN.com, NFL.com, and YouTube videos and finding that 9.0 r xxx would work on some but not all, 10 would not work on NFL.com, then finding ESPN stopped working (it had been for me previously) I started to look around a bit more.  After many installs of different versions, reboots and so on, I now have all things working.  The latest today was trying to install an older version of 9.0 r 115 as being requested by YouTube.  The .dmg file was in a zip and I started it with a terminal window.  When running that it displayed several error messages pointing to ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia which had a couple of directories dating back to 2008.  The items there were
         #SharedObjects
         macromedia.com
         www.macromedia.com
While I admit that I was pretty much giving up and was not as methodical about doing things as I had been previously (removing one thing, retrying, then doing the next), I ran the Flash uninstaller to remove the 9.0 r 115 verision, then removed these three directories, restarted my machine and then reinstalled the latest version of Flash.  YouTube, ESPN and NFL videos all now work.  I'm almost afraid to restart my machine.  But I appreciate the help that all have offered and I while I cannot pinpoint the correction to removing the above 3 files, that seems to have done it.  One thing to note too, was just prior to doing the above I checked the Guest account that was working on NFL.com and YouTube was not working today.  I've not checked it again after getting my primary ID working but will do so and if an issue will post back.
I am happy that I'm able to finally see videos on the sites that I hit!! Yay!!
(of course I was close to convincing my wife to allow me to buy a new Mac, but alas....) :-)
OK - just checked the guest account and all three work there as well.  So back to a good place.

  • Videos will not play when Adobe Flash is installed

I have always used Adobe Flash, and never had a problem with it.  When I installed the lastest release several months ago, I discovered that videos would not play at all. It's not just You Tube either; it's whatever site I visit. Six months of dealing with that was too much, so I uninstalled it, went online to look for an alternative, and guess what? The videos play just fine at MOST sites.  Others say that I need to install Flash Player.
This is confusing, especially since I have no idea as to why this is happening. At the moment I do not have Flash installed, but I do need to resolve this. Any help would be appreciated, as far as ideas, recommendations etc. Thank you.

YouTube is almost finished with the transition to HTML5 (MP4). The reason thay've done this is to be accessible to phone and tablet viewers who can't use Flash. Javascript in their pages determines if a browser has Flash Player, and if it doesn't, the page will display video in HTML5. THAT's why you see what you do there. NOT ALL websites have done this though. Yahoo is working on it, as are Hulu, Dailymotion and others. NetFlix has switched to SilverLight for playback which causes its own problems if you don't have THAT installed.
Add to this mix, Microsoft released (without any "real world" testing) IE 11 almost two months ago (October 18) and it's been a nightmare to say the least. Pages/Sites don't recognize it because they screwed up some code in it, and... if a page or site can't recognize the browser, it certainly won't recognize any plug-ins it uses. Not a problem for HTML5 video which doesn't require the Player, but Facebook games, Pogo, and many other Flash sites DO require a browser and plug-in that the code recognizes.
Is IE11 your browser by chance?

  • Video in Flash player does not play in C6

I have purchased Nokia C6-00, but in this phone videos do not play in Flash player. It gives me warning message that flash player required to play this video. On flash player site, it is mentioned that android 2.2 is required to install Flash player on your mobile.
How is it possible to play video in flash player on Nokia C6-00?

Symbian anna (new software version) update is available for C6-01 and C7 but there is no software update for C6-00 (with QWERTY keypad).
I am eagrly waiting for software update for C6-00. At least to provide support of FLASH LITE 4.0 so that flash video can be played on C6-00 handset.
I am facing one more problem with Skype utility on C6-00. I have installed latest Skype version on my mobile but even with 3.5G network speed, Skype login does not work.
When ever I sign-in on Skype, it will become idle in between signing process and nothing is happened and after frustration I have to close Skype application.

    Hi,
Try a clean installation of the flash plugin/activeX as follows.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows, open your Download folder and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.
If the above doesn't correct the issue, then try the following.
First of all, download and run the Shockwave uninstaller on the link below.
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/uninstall/win/sw_uninstaller.exe
After this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has fully reloaded, download and install the latest version of Shockwave on the following link.
    http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
Again, after this installation, restart the notebook.

  • Unable to publish projects with inserted video - error message The Flash video can not be loaded

I've created a project in Captivate 6 with two slides that have inserted videos in them
Both the videos were created in Captivate 6 by publishing those projects as mp4 videos
They play fine in the previews but when publishing I get the error saying the Flash video can not be loaded for both of those slides and in the output files the area for the video is blank.
I have checked that the videos are not open anywhere else as I saw on a previous post this was the issue but the only place they are in use is in the project I am trying to publish.
Below are my settings and the error message
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your screenshot indicates you are publishing to a folder on a network drive.
    Have you:
Verified whether or not the video file exists at the published folder location? (It should ideally be sitting in the same folder as the SWF that calls it.)
Verified that the folder location is set up as a trusted location in your Flash Global Security settings?

  • Why video does not play when embedded in a PDF when viewed in Windows 8?

I have a situation where video must be embedded within the PDF document and it was working for us using older versions of IE and on 32 bit machines and using acrobat X. When the same file was tested on Windows 8 it looks good and behaves well except the embedded video does not play. The same video (.mp4) will play on the new OS if it is not embedded in the PDF.
Is this because the PDF is looking for a 32 bit flash player? Am I doing something wrong and/or is there a fix for this situation?

Are you watching the pdf file from Adobe Reader?
Windows 8 by default has a diferent reader for pdf files that does not support rich media elements.

Not exactly sure what you are doing, but it is obvious that some part of the program you are running does not support multibyte characters like Unicode.
If you are developing that application, make sure it is Unicode enabled.  If it is Flash (or Flash Player) that doesn't understand it, then you may not be able to do anything about it.
What I would try if I were to encounter the situation, I would try to use the DOS (8.3) path names, like C:\Documents and Settings would normally be C:\DOCUME~1 or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users would be C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1 etc.
Use the DIR /X command to find out what the DOS folder names are.
