Flash videos only play in a quarter of the screen
This problem has been going on with my MacBook Pro for months... on some sites, Flash videos in fullscreen mode only take up a quarter of the screen, with the rest black. This happens on every browser, and persists regardless of the number of times I've cleared the browser cache, history, etc. Anyone have a fix?
Usually at the bottom toolbar of the video window, there is a Full Screen button. Is it missing?
1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
Press the "Delete All" button.
Install Adobe Flash Player.
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Download it first.
The next step is important.
Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
Follow the prompts and install it.
Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Safari > Preferences > Privacy
Press the button “ Remove All Website Data”.
3. Turn off Extensions, if any.
Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Relaunch Safari.

My Apple TV is only displaying on a quarter of the screen.
When I turned on my Apple TV today, only a quarter of the screen was displayed. The Apple TV is up to date. I tried restarting it, as well as the internet connection. When booting up, it uses the entire screen, but only a quarter of the home screen / video / screen saver is seen.
It is not a problem with the TV, as all other inputs work, and I tried playing something else through the input channel usually reserved for the Apple TV without any problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks. What TV (brand and model #)?
Have you the Apple TV on another port? Used a different HDMI cable?
Are you able to cycle through the resolutions via Apple TV settings? -
Flash videos only play for about 2-5 seconds
Ever since I've had to restore my whole computer, (due to sound and airport card problems which are still unresolved) any flash video such as youtube videos or any others will only play for 5 seconds (yes I still care about videos playing even though my sound is gone) and i've re-downloaded the flash player from adobe and now downloaded again the safari 3 beta, and it still won't work. Same thing on Firefox. Any ideas?
It's probably the new 'taste filter' trying to keep you from emberrasing yourself in public. Try playing them when you're alone. If it detects no one else is in the room, it may allow you to view them.
Seriously... Do they play in iTunes on your computer? If they're in your iTunes library, un-sync them from the phone, then sync them back. -
Flash Video not playing in IE6
I have a flash video embedded in my page that plays fine in
FF and IE7, however when loading the page in IE6 the video is
absent (the "red x" is in its place) and I receive the message
"Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls
on this page. As a result the page may not display correctly."
Now, this happens in IE6 only on the default security
settings. I have other sites that embed flash video and play fine
in IE6 without warning...they weren't created with Dreamweaver CS3
though.
What is triggering this in IE 6 and can I remove some code
from my page to prevent this?
Thanks for any help to what is probably a noobish
question.> "Your current security settings prohibit running
> ActiveX controls on this page. As a result the page may
not display
> correctly."
This would only be in local preview, right?

Cant Make Flash Video Stop Playing
I am using an HTMLLoader to display a web page in a
NativeWindow. The web page I am displaying has an embedded flash
video that plays in it. That all works fine. The problem I have is
that when they close the window, the flash video keeps playing. The
only way to stop it is to close the entire app.
Is there a way to somehow make the HTMLLoader stop playing
the content?I figured it out. I found a reply that fixed this problem for
someone with a SWFLoader and it works for the HTMLLoader.
Here is the answer if you need it, where html is the name of
the HTMLLoader.
html.load(null);
html.reload(); -
Youtube videos only play properly at 240p
I've had an annoying problem for several weeks.
Youtube videos only play properly at 240p. At any rate higher, they are garbled. Audio is fine, but the video is garbled.
Any ideas?
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No luck.
This happens with IE and FF.
Thanks,.
EphTry to
disable hardware acceleration (Flash Player Settings);
update the drivers for your graphics/video/display adapter. -

IOS 8 all videos only play in landscape view
TV Shows, Movies and even Music Videos only play in Landscape view, not Portrait. Is this everyone's experience?
The Apple iOS 8 Preview site used to have the wording quoted below (still viewable in the Google search preview) but as noted in http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/12/apple-demotes-icloud-photo-library-beta/, it has been delayed

[Zen Vision:M] videos only playing first 8 seco
I just got my Z Vision:M today, when I try to play videos that I transfered to the player, the videos only play the first 8 seconds. I updated to the newest version of the firmware and am still getting this problem. How can I fix this? Thanks.
Since you have had the player for a few years you may need to replace the battery. Also having it sit for a looong time without charging it does not help keep the battery in shape.http://www.batteryuni'versity.com/parttwo-34.htm Slipping the tip of a safety pin into the reset hole while the adapter is attached (difficult but doable). Does the charging icon show it as charging while connected? BTW 3 hours is not enough time to charge when it has sat dead for a while.. If it shows that it is charging power it down & leave it til the blue light by the power switch stops pulsing & the charging icon stops blinking.

Keep hearing white noise when a flash video is playing
Whenever a flash video is playing (ie. Youtube) then I will hear white noise in the foreground and barely hear the original audio in the background. This also happens with facebook notifications and other flash sounds. I have checked my sound card and drivers and also switched the sound card over to see if this solves the problem but it seems to just be linked with Firefox at the moment
hello, maybe it's an issue with the protected mode in the flash plugin - you could try if [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-crashes#w_solution-2-downgrade-to-flash-10-3 downgrading to flash 10.3] (which is still supported) or [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071#TemporaryWorkaround disabling protected mode] makes a difference.

ime plays them with audio, however the screen is black. What is the fix?Experimental advice (in this particular context) coming up.
Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:
... and click OK. Quit and restart the QuickTime Player prior to checking to see if the settings change has had any effect. -
When I'm playing games on my Mac, I want to my viewers (from YouTube) to hear whats going on in the game, as far as I know, I can only record my voice audio, and the screen. Is there anyway I can record game audio too?

You have two basic options. One is to use a commercial screen recording app with access to system audio built into the app and the other is to add a system extension like SoundFlower that allows the QT X screen recorder to access/record the system audio. I use the former so I am not that familiar with SoundFlower but there should be several posts to this forum covering this topic. -
I have a few songs that will only play for about a min the it will stop playing how can i get the songs back to a full song
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.
