Flash web radio help!

I have been able to create a little flash based radio that
would pick up music from flash media server. Now what i want to do
is that create a small tab at the bottom of the screen that would
be dedicated to this little radio. as far as i know i can do this
with my flash pages without my radio restarting every time i click
on a link and go to a different page but i have other pages such as
aspx and regular html pages. Is there anyway i can still keep my
radio at the bottom of the screen and not have it restart every
time i go to a different page? I would really appreciate the help.
i have been looking at different samples all over the net and all i
see is a pop up window done through javascript but i really don't
want a second window to be opened mostly because i want the useres
to lose the radio as soon as they leave my website.

as far as i know broadcasting live audio is very difficult.
the way i am doing it is from audio files that i have already
converted to flv. i remember working with flash media server and
there was a third party software that would capture video and audio
and feed it live to media server. media server is an expensive
software and would be really hard to setup correctly. i would
suggest converting your mp3 to flv and then do progressive radio. i
have one that i made myself but there is also a free one out there
that was really good. i just didn't have time to go around and redo
its playlist but if you are interested i will check into it and
find out what website it was on.

  • Flash Web Gallery HELP

I decided to create a website to showcase some of my graphic
design work and I have been stumped for over three weeks of how to
insert a flash web gallery. I bought this gallery from Entheosweb
awhile ago and have been trying to correspond with their customer
service but to no avail. I created a basic layout in photoshop with
a simple header and footer and a body thats at least 840 x 490
(dimensions of the gallery). I've been using dreamweaver to upload
the files to my web host and when I exhange the code of the gallery
for the image (body) code it is uploaded but cannot be seen on
    http://www.al-burke.com. You
can actually right click the gallery and press play and it will
appear. Will this happen for all visitors to the site? Also, I am
not sure where to put the images and the important files of the
gallery in my root folder. Thanks for your help.

I tried access the URL provide, however, it appears you've
    emptied your root directory.

  • Flash web gallery NEED HELP

I have no clue how to program these flash galleries....My
site www.al-burke.com contains a flash web gallery that I purchased
online and I have been able to upload it to the site but its says
movie not loaded. I have all the neccessary files in place I
    believe (gallery.xlm, main.html, main.swf) all under a folder. Can
anyone please help me out? Thanks

Does it work when you test it from your local drive? If it
does, but doesn't work when you post the files to the server, you
may not have uploaded all of the parts correctly. If it doesn't
work when testing from the files on your harddrive either, then
there is a linking issue - have you moved any of the files after
the gallery was created...? (If so, the links will be broken).
You also reference a file named "main.html" - this isn't the
name of the file that's posted - if you created a file named that,
then changed the name to index.html without updating the links when
prompted, that will also break the links...
    Hope that helps...

  • Help: Controlling transitions in flash web galleries from CS4/Bridge

    Hi all,
Is there a way to control the transitions from one image to the next when generating a flash web gallery? I'm using CS4/Bridge on WinXP.
The fade out/in from one image to the next is very chunky, no matter what the file size.  And that's on my local copy before I've uploaded it to the web.
I also haven't found a way to generate web galleries from within CS4 itself (looked at file/automate, as well as window/output, but nothing obvious in either location).
    Many thanks for your help!
    j

Your procedures are correct. The pertinent features have been moved from PS to Bridge. You can use the old method by finding the respective scripts on your install DVD's Extras section (or downloading them). Regarding transition performance and speed I don't think you can do anything. that is solely determined by the Flash template used for that and if you have no way of creating your own ones, there doesn't seem much point in even worrying about things you may not be able to change. Use it or loose it, if you allow me to put it that way. You can however certainly find enough other gallery tools on the web, they may just require you to change your approach and learn some basic web design stuff...

  • Index file missing from flash web galleries

    Hi All,
I usually make a flash web gallery for my clients to view and select from online. For some reason now I can't get the web module to work correctly. It is acting a little funny from the start but mainly when I export it creates the file without the index file in it. I have version 1.4.1 and 2 beta. The problem is the same in each.
I am on a Mac Pro quad core 2.8GHz with 6GB ram and two hard drives with lots of free space. I hope that is relevant.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,

  • Newbie with flash web gallery

    Hi all,
Yes, I am very new at the whole flash process. I am a
photographer who is trying to set up a private link for a flash web
gallery (made in photoshop) for sending at my discretion. I have
successfully made the gallery in photoshop, and now it sits all
nicely in its folder on my desktop. My question is really quite
elementary, as well as embarrassing, but which of those files
within the folder do I send to my potential customer? Do I zip it
all and send via email? Do I have to upload each individual file
from each folder to my server? There has to be an easy way to do
this, I just dont know how.
I would prefer to have it set up on a lone webpage through my
site, but at this point, email would be great to.
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks.

You need a hosting service for your site, you may already have some space from your ISP. Whoever provides your hosting service will provide you with the log in details you need to upload a gallery using the in built FTP client in LR. See LR help (F1 in LR) here

  • LR Flash Web Gallery Colors are too "rich"

    Hello everybody,
I am not even sure anymore that this is a LR only question, I apologize, but I encounter my problem while using LR.
If I create a Flash LR Web Gallery, the colors of the pictures are way off when viewed in the browser. They are too warm and very saturated.
First I suspected my browser, but it color managed (Firefox). If I go and open a single image directly in ~/bin/images/large with the same browser, I get what I expect (and what I see in LR).
But if I run the flash presentation, I get the overdone colors.
Can anyone help with a hint?
    Thanxx, Peter

No, because LR's Web module is currently based on ActionScript 2, so no 3rd party Flash web engines are colour managed.
If you have some skills with Flash, SlideShowPro for Flash is one option. Coupled with their Director content management system, which comes with a LR export plug-in, you can have a smooth workflow and colour managed Flash output. Of course, remember that your visitors must also have Flash Player version 10, and most still don't.

  • Customizing Flash Web Gallery in Photoshop

Hoping someone can help me... I'm at my wits end.
I am doing a Flash Web Gallery in Photoshop, the second kind where the images "morph" into horizontal/vertical shapes.
I need to make a couple of customizations to it:  First, I would like the TITLE of the image (or description) to appear the whole time on the gallery, NOT just when you hover over it with your mouse.
I need to make the text larger for the titles.
I would like to make the little Controller images on the lower right corner BIGGER, they are so small one can barely see them.
I was able to download the flash source file but my Flash expertise is limited and it looks like all they are are movie clips, you can't acutally MANIPULATE items in there.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
    Thanks!

My advice is to get a 3rd party gallery creation program.
Many are free and most are better than Adobe's half-baked offerings.

  • Flash Web Gallery large photo border erratic behavior

In Lightroom HTML Web Gallery one can define border styles for the displayed photos. I cannot find a similar future in the Flash Gallery however. Is there one??? In any case, the first 6 photos in my Flash Web Gallery appear with a black border around the main large displayed photos. The subsequent photos do not have any border. In either case, it would be nice to have the border appearance consistent and preferably user definable.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi John,
Thanks for that. A bit more digging - preview in browser is fine and export to harddrive then runs in browser OK. I tried HTML gallery and got the same error (No 2 says a file was truncated) so I chucked it all at another server and it seems to be OK. Looks like an ISP problem.
    Those unconnected problems were:
Despite repairs I still can't burn to CD, it still says it's been disabled. I don't miss the feature but I like to think my installation is fully functional.
I still seem to have a memory leak in that if I crop, edit and export 46 images as jpg it falls over, very politely - sorry for the inconvenience etc but this is repeatable, yesterday it crashed at 46 and 92 images. I wonder if my 2.3 install was OK and this was behind the second part of my question.

  • Flash Web Gallery Loader Background

    Greetings all,
I am placing a LR Flash Web Gallery in an inline frame of an html page. The page background is 75% Gray.
When the page is displayed, the loader swf appears to have a white background, causing an annoying white flash on the page until the slideshow loads.
Once the slideshow loads, the page looks fine.
I've played with the .xml files, but haven't found a tag that affects that background yet. Anybody experience the same problem?
    Many thanks for your help,
    Jeff

    Hi John,
Thanks for the info and the link...
I read your blog and instead of using an inline frame, embedded the sideshow directly in my page.
Works fine, except now I have to "click to activate control" (Windows curse), which apparently was overridden by a script in LR's generated index.html page.
However, thanks to your suggestions, I used my own overide scripts and embedded the page anyway. A much more elegant solution.
Great blog and thanks for the inspiration.
    Best regards,
    Jeff

  • Flash-Web Photo Gallery

I am trying to create a flash web photo galler using the Automate>Web Photo Gallery in CS2.
I want to mix the features of the 2 existing options.
In Flash Gallery 1, the thumbnails are listed as small icons in multiple lines and are magnified when the mouse hovers over them, like the dock in OS X.
In Flash Gallery 2, the meta data listed in the xml file is displayed only if you explicitly click on the info button, and it is below the picture.
I need these 2 options together. The rest of the options are not a problem I can go either way.
Is there another Flash Gallery that will combine these two options?
    If not:
Is there a way to modify the flash file to accomodate this?

Google "Flash Gallery Templates", you'll see 2.4M links.
Back to levonk's original question... sounds like you're trying to do what I'm trying to... alter the Flash files used to generate the Web Photo Gallery Flash Gallery 2.
Here's my question, similar to yours:
How do i open the "gallery.swf" file to alter Photoshop Flash Web Photo Gallery?
Built Web Photo Gallery in Photoshop CS2's Automate. It turned out OK, and I made adjustments in the "index.html" and "galleryconfig.xml" files in a text editor (BBE).
Now, I'd like to alter the template's .swf file but can't open it as it's "protected".
It would be nice to be able to set up a new template that does exactly what I intend, without altering the other files. But I can't open the protected "gallery.swf" file to make changes. Can someone help? Does Adobe have an unprotected copy of that file I can fiddle with? Is there some "trick" to open a copy of that file? I could learn a lot and make it easy to repeat results for a site. Any assistance most appreciated!

  • Flash CS5 Button Help

To start, I'm a total newbie in Flash, so I'm sorry if what I'm asking is ridiculously primitive, but I was literally thrown into this blindfolded and I'm using google and several forums to help me out.
What I'm doing:  redesigning a website.  At the moment, the website has a flash file that introduces it's logo and subcategories of its' website on the top of the page.  What I wanted to do was make sure there was a hyperlink on the logo that would bring anyone back to the homepage, very basic stuff.  The issue I have run into is that the logo is actually a flash movie.  Different parts of the logo appear at different times, and I think this is what is specifically causing me issues.
The logo that I want to hyperlink has several layers, and what I've done so far is select them all and create a button (F8, select 'Button' and rename it).  When I did that, I noticed the layers significantly changed and when I tested the movie, it looks terrible, choppy and not how it originally looked.
I know the step after that is to go into behaviors and insert the url to which I want it to be hyperlinked.  The only thing is that I don't want to show a terrible flash movie to my boss even if it's hyperlinked to the homepage.
Anyone understand all that gibberish I wrote down?  Or does anyone see a flaw in what I'm doing?  I'm not 100% positive if the steps I'm taking are correct, I've been to several different sites, all of which tell me to do different things.
Initially I tried coding it with ActionScript, but I was having terrible issues with that as well.
If it helps, the file I'm working on was altered a while back.  Could it be that the file is not compatible or proper for Flash CS5?
    Help!!!

    ... how do I give that shape/button a url?
Since it is a button, it is already a self animating object that will react to mouse interactions, but only visually at this stage.  The first thing you need to do to make it useful code-wise is to assign it a unique instance name.  So you drag a copy of it out to the stage from the library, and while it's still selected, you enter that unique instance name for it in the Properties panel... let's say you name it "btn1"
In AS3, to make a button work with code, you need to add an event listener and event handler function for it.  You might need to add a few (for different events, like rollover, rollout, clicking it, but for now we'll just say you want to be able to click it to get a web page to open.  In the timeline that holds that button, in a separate actions layer that you create, in a frame numbered the same as where that button exists, you would add the event listener:
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btn1Click);
The name of the unique function for processing the clicking of that button is specified at the end of the event listener assignment, so now you just have to write that function out:
    function btn1Click(evt:MouseEvent):void {
       var url:String = "http://www.awebsite.com/awebpage.html";
       var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
       navigateToURL(req);
... how do I know it's properly placed on the correct area?
What area?  If you place it where you want it, that should be correct. (?)
... how do I make sure it's invisible...?
If you can't see it when you test the file and you know it's there and your cursor turns into  a hand when you are over where it should be, it's invisible.
...how do I see the other objects in the flash file I'm working on?
Select Edit -> Edit Document to get out of the symbol editing mode and back to the file editing mode.  If you doubleclick an object on the stage, rather than clickingit in the library, you open it up in editing mode on the stage, but the stage and everything else will still be visible behind it in a faded tone.

  • Can't modify image dimensions in flash web export

I need some help fixing an issue that I guess isn't a bug, it's just not what I want my output to look like.
When I export the basic flash web gallery with a mixture of vertical and horizontal oriented images, the default settings render my vertical images to the same height as the horizontals, ie if a horizontal image ends up as 800x500 (width x height) the vertical ones all come out 500 high, making them a very tiny 500x300 (or whatever). As I say, this seems to be what it's supposed to do, I just don't like it! It's a pet peeve of mine that monitor aspect ratios oblige us to display portrait smaller than landscape, and I'm determined to make the most of what little space there is.
I've tried messing with the style.xml settings, the module advanced options (which are the same thing AFAICS) and trawled the net all afternoon to find a way to get vertical image height to fill the available stage area height. I have noticed that LR seems to export from the Develop module fine (in this respect) if I set the export dimensions square, so setting 800x800 forces an images longest edge to 800px, ie the same size irrespective of image orientation. But because there's no equivalent option in the Web module (just large, small, etc) this little trick isn't possible. Am I explaining this clearly enough? By my reckoning, editing the xml file is too late: the web module has already exported the vertical images with the "wrong" long-edge dimensions.
Surely there's a way to force web output to a orientation-independent common size? Or do I have to export verticals and horzontals separately? The simpleviewer engines all manage this just fine, so I'm hopeful there's a simple workaround. I still have a couple of days (and most of my hair) left before I need to upload this stuff & would sincerely appreciate some help!
    Running LR 2.3 on a MacBook / 10.5.6.
    Thanks for reading.
    Mick.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think this has anything to do with fixed size galleries. As I say, the fact that Simpleviewer flash output doesn't constrain the height of vertical images to that of the horizontal ones suggests that it's not even a quirk with flash engines, it's something peculiar to LR Flash Gallery code. I suspect it's something missing from the <mediaPosition> section, but I'm not sure exactly what...
The Simpleviewer gallery.xml usually gives you this sort of parameter:
    maxImageWidth="800" maxImageHeight="800"
and you get vertical images scaled to the max height of the stage (even if it's never quite 800px) – that's all I'm looking to hack the LR Flash Gallery xml with. I want to know why, when I enter
    height="800.00" width="800.00"
in the <mediaPosition> section of the style.xml, I end up with the height at 600 or less, regardless of stage space.
Looking at my output sizes, LR appears to generate a set height for all images, scaling the width to fit, but not the other way around. Cue exasperation.
There has to be a way to do it. Since I posted the question I've found a couple of things. First, it is possible to force a set image height, but you also need to set a fixed image position. The default xml code is usually somerhing like
    <mediaPosition videoScale="upDown" positionType="auto" fitAtStart="true" height="264.00" imageScale="fitToScreen" x="0.00" y="0.00" width="360.00"/>
but if you change the positionType, imageScale and fitAtStart fields, giving the image area a fixed loaction (x and y coordinates) it's possible, with a load of messing on, to generate a slideshow which behaves the way I want, but the thumbnail view remains the same:
    <mediaPosition videoScale="upDown" positionType="fixed" fitAtStart="false" height="770.00" imageScale="fixed" x="180.00" y="90.00" width="960.00"/>
This might even be ok, but it behaves differenty on different monitors due to varying aspect ratios, so it's no good. I feel like I'm 'close but no cigar' here. If anyone knows better I'd love to hear it.
I also found a LR plugin that looks like it might get close enough to the LR Flash output that I want, and as it's just $35 I might have to go for it: http://slideshowpro.net/products/slideshowpro/slideshowpro_for_lightroom
I'd still much rather stick with the original engine, if anyone can point me to a solution.
    Thanks
    Mick
