Flash will not play in Mozilla/Firefox
I just can't seem to figure out why my flash movie will not
play in Mozilla/Firefox,
Here is a link to the page
http://www.z1multimedia.com/Demo/CassaItalia/site_flash/index_1A.html
It plays fine on Safari
Perhaps if you actually looked at your html you would see
that you have
stuffed up your SWF file names .. you've got different urls
for the swf ie
tries to play vs what firefox/mozilla tries to play. Its just
very basic
common-sense checks .. like spell checking a document.

Windows Media Player will not play embedded in Firefox
I'm puzzled over the sudden inability to play embedded Windows Media Player files in Firefox. Everything was working fine, then suddenly yesterday with no changes made by me and no updates or other changes to the system I am aware of, suddenly it will not play.
I can right click a link and save it, and it will play in the regular Media Player. However, when the content is embedded in a website, it loads the page and just sits there. Won't play.
I'm using:
Windows Vista Home Premium
Windows Media Player v. 11.0.6002.18311
Firefox 3.5.5
I went to this page:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206213
And when I type in about:plugins, I cannot see the DRM files. Am I supposed to? I tried using the Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox (wmpfirefoxplugin) to repair it, but that hasn't helped.
Any advice? Please keep in mind that I am practically retarded when it comes to tech stuff, and working several jobs and in school full time, so I really don't have the ability to spend hours and hours researching this. I need a concise, quick fix. Thanks! Why are you using such an old Firefox/3.5.3 version from 2009 (Gecko/20090824) as shown in the user agent and haven't updated Firefox for such a long time?
See:
The Firefox 3.5.3 version that you currently run is no longer supported with security updates.
You should at least use the latest Firefox 3.6.x version if you do not want to switch to Firefox 4+ versions.
Your plugins list in the system details list shows the WMP plugin (np-mswmp), so that plugin should be working.
Do WMP test pages work?

Published as Flash, Flash will not play in PowerPoint
I have published a Captivate Movie as a Flash file. When I
click on the Shockwave Object in the folder I saved it to, it will
not play. I have Flash and Shockwave installed on my computer.
I need to import that Flash file into a PowerPoint.
Help!Hi mmmurphy1 and welcome to our community
When you click it from Explorer, do you get the generic
Windows prompt where Windows is asking you what to do? If so, just
try pointing at Internet Explorer and clicking the check box for
using it always for this option. See if that helps.
Hope so... Rick -
I am using Windows XP. I downloaded Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.7 and installed it on my computer. I opened Mozilla Firefox 27.0.1 and went to youtube to watch videos. I clicked on a video to watch and received the following information:
The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback.
Get the latest Flash Player.
I opened Control Panel on my computer and saw that Adobe Flash Player is indeed installed. So why is Firefox not recognizing it?I opened Firefox, clicked on "Tools", clicked "Add-ons", and noticed there is a "Shockwave Flash 12.0.0.77" listed. Is that the adobe flash player?
Yes, it is.
It is set on "never activate" - because when I have it on, I get a computer page stall from time to time, and a little window pops up saying, "Warning: Unresponsive script, A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete."
See: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/warning-unresponsive-script for a few suggested solutions.
BTW, "script" errors are not the same as Unresponsive plug-in errors.
The former are caused by javascript, ASP script or PHP scripts (in the page code) malfunctioning or "locking up".
The latter are caused by a defective plug-in (like Flash Player). -

It switches to the Classic view but not the new view which I really like.... My laptop has Google Chrome and it has not problems with this new view of Windstream only with Mozilla Firefox 5, the other version never had any problems either...I had 3 and had no problems till I up graded....
The longer this thread continues, the more ancillary comments you throw in that aren't directly pertinent to your problem with your DVR software not working with Firefox 4.0. Sorry, I don't intend to continue with this discussion.
I do agree that ''something'' needs to be done better with regards to plugins for Firefox, but I do disagree with you as to whose responsibility that ''something'' is. -
I receive e-mails from Quilted Paradise. People post pictures on this site, but, they will not display. Internet Explorer, they will display. Also, the reading area is way too small.
If I save the page as a web archive and then open it MS Word - I see the following text at the bottom:
<div class="noscript"> To use wikis, enable JavaScript.</div>
JavaScript is enabled - via Tools / Internet Options / Security - the checkbox for Active Scripts is set to enabled. -
I have added a <object> section to a web page to play
.swf file but can not get the file to play from "localhost". I am
running IIS version 5.1 on a laptop with Windows XP.
I am using Microsoft's VWD 2008 and Microsoft Expressions ad
my page development tool. When I view the page via the built in
server for either of these development tools, the .swf file plays
fine. When I load the exact same page via IIS as a "localhost" page
or link from another page, the .swf file does not play.
I made sure that IIS has .swf defined as a MIME type and I
checked my browser to make sure that it would allow files to
play/load from my local machine (I am running IE &). Again,
loading the exact same page via the development tool plays fine. I
only have a problem when I try to display a site/page via the
"localhost" environment.
Hope someone can point me in the right direction to get the
file to play so I can show my managers the site with the embeded
.swf files working correctly without having to load the darn
development tools first.Well, it took forever but I finally found the IIS setting
that was blocking the content. Under the Directory Security tab in
the IIS console for the web site, I did not have the Integrated
Windows authentication box check under the Authenticated access
panel.
So, if anyone else runs into this problem, checking that box
allowed the .swf file to play on my localhost. -
Adove TV Will Not Play Movies In Firefox and Safari
For those at Adobe developing Flash, I wanted to post and let you know that I cannot view any Adobe TV videos in Firefox and Safari. I AM able to view videos in Google Chrome. I was able to view them a few months ago without any problems. The web pages for Adobe TV load just fine, but the area where the movie plays is solid black, and there are no video controls (play, pause, volume, etc.).

Flash will not install when using firefox 34.0.5
I have installed Firefox 34.0.5. I've tried everything to install flash but it still do not work. It says it installed fine, but when I check, it has not been installed. It's not even in the add-on list. Please tell me how this works. Thanks.
I am sorry to hear that you are having this problem with Adobe Flash in Firefox. I would be happy to help you get this problem taken care of. First in Firefox go to the [http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer Adobe Flash Player website] . Then instal it, after that close out Firefox just to make sure that it will apply. Then check to see that it is listed in the add-on list.
This should take care of any problems that you have been having. If not let me know and we will work from there. If it does fix the problem please mark this answer as the solution to the problem. -
All videos require reload of Adobe Flash & will not play after reload
ALL videos ask for an Adobe Flash update reload but do not allow the video to play. Firefox plug-in menu shows Shockwave Flash 10.1.82.76 installed & enabled. What more can be done?
This seems like a problem with Flash. Have you contacted Adobe about this?

Flash will not play on Youtube only (black box)
Installed "ClicktoFlash" (program that disables flash on a page until you allow it) the other night and after having an issue getting videos to play on YouTube I disabled and uninstalled it using the built in uninstaller. Now I cannot get any YouTube videos to play no matter which browser I use- and I've tried them all. All I get is a black box. Strangely enough the flash (assuming) advertisement at the top of the page plays. Also plays fine on other websites.
Tried uninstall and reinstall Flash, selecting 32 bit mode, doing all the requisite updates and every other trick in the book. Turned on HTML5 and that gets some videos to work but not all so definitely not a solution.
I have to think that it is ClicktoFlash that caused this mayhem. The timing is too perfect to be anything else. I've searched for left over components but don't see anything obvious.
Any ideas?Hi Tim
if it was a Click to flash extension - just remove it or turn extensions off in Safari-Preferences
if the 'plugin type' -
check there's no ClickToFlash.webplugin file in Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins (the usual install location) or HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
Restart any browsers & no more click to flash.
Assuming it's gone (which very likely it already has, since yours sounds like the common recent youtube problem... you restarted Safari after the 32 bit change ?
tried a different user agent ? (Safari-Develop-user Agent) -
I cannot play videos from many sites. Everything was fine up until a few days aago. You tube works fine but others will not. I have firefox 16.something and latest versions of flash. All plug ins are there and enabled. Have read through many support threads and nothing is working. This happens on chrome and ie as well.
You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Firefox will not play flash videos
Firefox 3.6.12 will not play flash videos. I see many people have this problem so let me list everything that I tried or thought of:
1. Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash and Firefox
2. Flash works on IE- and i do have both versions of flash installed for IE and Firefo
3.Adblock plugin is not installed
4.In Safemode, videos still do not play
5. Other issues with firefox started when I installed Webroot Desktop Firewall so I uninstalled it and am using windows firewall -
A powerpoint uploaded on OneDrive will not play in Firefox
I have uploaded a powerpoint on OneDrive that I want to share with others.
When one clicks the link it brings up a message that says
"this video can't be played in this browser. Try using a different browser or downloading the video and playing it in a video app"
Yet the previous video did play. Same system to create the video, same computer, same type of video.
It is NOT practical to tell me to go make adjustments on my computer, as those contacts that I am sending it to, will not go through all the trouble to do that, nor will they download it and use a video app.
I have tried both a powerpoint show as well as a windows media video.
I have tried to down load the firefox PowerPoint plug in.
I am not committed to using OneDrive if you can suggest another way to massively distribute a PowerPoint show
of how to put it on a link on a website.
Thanks,
RaydaThis does not help because I have the very same type of video posted a few months ago that plays fine. Plus as I stated, the people you send it to are NOT NOT going to go to Mozilla support and see why it don't play they are simply going to ignore the video and not watch it. Kills the reason to send it.
It is a marketing PowerPoint and is going out to people who don't have a solid relationship or reason to watch it.
It simply need to come up and play and not have a dozen excuses from FireFox why it don't play. Or several steps to go through to get it to play.
The original one still does play.
www.raydaroundy.net
Yet this new one does not play
www.epxyes.org
same computer
same Powerpoint system
same way it was recorded and saved
Same way it was uploaded on OneDrive
Same version it was saved as
yet Firefox will not play it, it will not play on my computer
and not on 3 other team members computer
Chrome will play it fine
So what did FireFox change so it is no longer compatible?
It should NOT need to be a fix that every person has to go fix something with their FireFox to get it to play. That is not going to happen.
