  • Flash no longer works with YouTube

I updated Flash, Firefox, and Windows 7 on 12/10/14. Since that time I am no longer able to use Flash on YouTube. I get a black player and the message: "An error has occurred. Try again later." I'm using Firefox version 34.0.5 and Flash version 16.0.0.235. If I disable Flash the HTML5 player works. This is a real pain because I'd rather use the Flash player and several other sites I visit require Flash. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I don't know if the problem is with Flash, YouTube, or Windows. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I'm having problems with Flash Videos (Youtube and ESPN)

I have been having this problem for the last couple of days now and it is really annoying. Whenever I watch a flash video like on youtube or espn my computer freezes up and the audio will make a loud buzzing sound. I have attached a video with the post so you can see what happens. I don't have problems with anything else except this. I also get this error no matter what browser I use. I have system restored my PC as far as I can go, and I've ran a ton of scans and driver update checks and nothing seems to work.

merci a tous pour les nombreuses réponse. j'ai dû mal a les lire vue que je ne lit que le français. je vous remercié encore une fois amicalement. Blanchette 2.

I recently had to alter my Flash Player settings for a widget and discovered that you have to go here to do so. I assume that the problem is going to be with Flash and you will note on the page that it states you can alter the settings for 'the use of the camera and microphone installed on your computer'
Just a guess but I am willing to bet that this is where you need to go to get it working.

  • Problem with youtube and other video websites

I have a problem with youtube and other video websites:
Everything is up to date (flash, FF, my plug ins..) but i keep getting freezes when the video loads. I can hear sound but i can only see the first frame of the video.
I've reinstalled flash/firefox or tried updating them again for about 4 times now and my cookies/cache has also been errased which i usually don't do. If i enter FF's safe mode it also freezes.
I hope someone could help out, i've searched for answer on google before and tried everything i saw but it didn't helped.
    grts,
    agrash

Hmm, so that person had a conflicting plug in.
Problem is that whenever i enter firefoxes safe mode which disables every plug in, i still have the youtube freeze/crash

  • I have a problem with youtube...i can't watch some videos from youtube! They stop after few seconds of playing!! what can i do to fix it?

I have a problem with youtube...i can't watch some videos from youtube! They stop after few seconds of playing!! what can i do to fix it??

Try loading the same video in different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer are your best options). If the issue is across all of them, make sure you've downloaded the latest version of Flash at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If it's still stopping after that...Do the tried and tested method for everything: reset your router.

  • Flash with wmode="transparent" doesn't work with non-US keyboard (like FF)

Safari has the same issue as FireFox (which they are finally fixing) :
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347185
If you use Flash with wmode="transparent" then it treats all keyboards as if they are US keyboards.
    For example try G.ho.st http://G.ho.st/vc.html with a non-US keyboard

I too am having issues. I am using Shockwave Flash 11.4.402.287 on Firefox 16.0.1. I am running on Windows 7 Enterprise. Disabling the plugin allows me to load pages quickly, but I am not able to view videos or play games. Firefox freezes upon loading a page that uses Flash. It remains frozen for an unacceptable length of time, then it will unfreeze on its own accord. The freeze affects the entire computer. I cannot interact with the desktop or the Windows start bar, and can only close Firefox by forcibly ending the "firefox.exe" process via Task Manager.
This is not the first version of Firefox that has displayed this problem to me. Firefox 15 also froze upon using Flash.
I had hoped that the latest Firefox update would solve this problem, but apparently not. Until then, I am forced to use Chrome, which is quite inconvenient for me as I am not at all familiar with that browser and am constantly clicking the settings button when I want to to go to my home page.
These freezes are incredibly frustrating and annoying. If Mozilla wishes to build a better Internet, they should try to make their browser a program that doesn't tempt me towards rage-quitting YouTube.

  • What's up with Youtube?!

Since the last update I have some serious problems with youtube. I am running an Oct 2013 macbook pro, os x mavericks. Nearly every youtube video does nothing but a black screen with the loading circles. It will sometimes play the advertisement then as soon as the video is intended to play nothing. Black screen, loading circle. I've tried Firefox, and Safari. Everythings is up to date. Java. Flash.  It's really annoything.  I can stream netflix and amazon, but it seems to be limited to youtube. Thanks.

My wife has a intel i5 macbook pro from late 2011 running os x maverics and she is also having the same problem....

  • My iBook Flash and Youtube Tips!

    Welcome!
I noticed that a lot of people are having problems with Youtube/Adobe Flash, and I have managed to get it working at a fairly decent speed by doing the following things. This thread is just for the tips that I have gathered, and those of anyone who has something to contribute or say. So, here is what I have found.
    Youtube:
For Youtube videos, I have found that using html5 really helps playback.
To enable it, go to this address in Safari:
    http://www.youtube.com/html5
(It will not work in any other browser at this point in time) and click "Join the HTML5 trial" at the bottom of the page.
Only some videos (those without ads) will work in this trial now, but you will notice how much more smoothly and how much more quickly the videos load in the trial.
Another option is a Youtube video downloader like MacTubes, available here:
    http://download.cnet.com/MacTubes/3000-2139_4-204278.html
    Flash:
The best way I have found to use flash is a Browser developed by Mozilla, called Camino (Developed by the Firefox people at Mozilla, but only for Mac. You can go into preferences and disable flash entirely (you can view the flash item by clicking the little icon in the middle of it).
You can also block webpage ads which speeds up webpage loading a TON!
    Get Camino here:
    http://caminobrowser.org/
Thanks for reading, and I hope that this helps!

  • Problems with youtube

It isnt only an issue with youtube, which makes me think that it is a safari problem. whenever i want to see any videos online, the place where they should be on the page is just blank. also, i keep "installing" a flash player, but it keeps telling me nothing is installed.

I guess I don't have 3G just ordinary internet my mobile operator provides, but I have a subscription plan with 3Gb of included data which I can't use because my cell stops working after 5 minutes. That means if the video is longer than 5 minutes. I can watch though as many videos as I want if they are shorter than 5 minutes.
I don't know if my Nokia isn't good enough for more than 5 minutes of youtube, because my sister has HTC and with my sim card in it youtube on my sister's cell worked without any problem.

  • Crackling/substandard sound in flash videos (YouTube etc) regardless of video quality setting.

    Hi all,
I hope you can help! Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, I'm struggling to find the best place to put this.
    1. a summary of your issue
Crackling/substandard sound in flash videos (YouTube etc) regardless of video quality setting.
    2. the type of computer you use—Mac or PC?
    Desktop PC.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, all updates installed.
    3. steps you've already taken to troubleshoot
The problem occurs after installing Adobe Flash Player 15 Plugin to any browser (I mainly use FireFox). It's listed as Adobe Flash Player 15 ActiveX when I installed it for Internet Explorer.
Before installing it, I can hear the videos fine but I am limited to a maximum of 720p quality on YouTube.
I removed my sound and graphics drivers, after restart Windows 7 decides it will install them again but as the generic/universal ones. No change.
I've heard that because I have the Windows Aero theme activated, I need to disable hardware acceleration - tried this in various ways:
    a) Generic PnP monitor Troubleshoot tab - Change Settings button is greyed out (whether or not I have the real/generic/universal graphics drivers installed). Can't find a way through nVidia control panel to do this either.
    b) Disabled hardware acceleration in FireFox - no change.
    c) Found on your forum here that I can go to a page which will check my Flash version, in theory I could right-click it, hit Settings and disable hardware acceleration there - no "Settings" option in right-click menu. Seems the page has changed.
I can't seem to find a way to interface with Flash directly to disable hardware accelerattion - if this is indeed the solution.
Regardless of Windows Aero theme, I've got it on basic theme now and still the same problem.
I recently reformatted and re-installed my PC, it was working fine before I did this (maybe I had an old Flash release installed?).
I'm at my wit's end... please help!

Sorry, it's all sorted now. After re-installing the sound drivers, decided to tinker with the settings one by one. I had my Creative sound card in Game Mode, thus it was assuming 2.1 speakers aka headphones. Put it in Entertainment Mode and it recognised all the 5.1 speakers for flash videos. Doh!

  • Problem with Youtube videos loading...

I have had problems with Youtube since I have gotten my new Mac in November. (My old Mac would play them fine.) The videos will start loading and then stop. If I want to continue trying to watch a video I have to move the button around on the bottom to the right, and then back to the left. This does not always work though. The thing is, though, that it works at my school's campus. Just not at my house. However, I can watch Youtube videos on my mom's Sony Vaio. What can I do?

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
YouTube streams some video content using the Flash Player plugin. Try uninstalling then reinstalling a new copy of the plugin.
    Uninstall Flash
    Install Flash
    Then Disk Permissions
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and *restart your Mac.*

  • Firefox is awfully slow with YouTube?

For the past four days Firefox is awfully slow with YouTube. Video buffering isn't affected, however every page takes twice as much to load than it did before. I just upgraded to Firefox 14 but it didn't solve the problem.
I have the latest flash version and use Windows XP. YouTube runs just fine on Chrome, but lags with Firefox. I really don't feel like switching over to Chrome. Any suggestions?
I cleaned my registry a few days /before/ this started happening. Could it be relevant? The lagging didn't start right after I did that.
    I'm desperate. ;o;

Truth is I had Flash 10.1 when the problem occured because by computer doesn't seem to want to co-operate with any other. In the middle of watching a video it would freeze out with any recent version and I would have to restart. So yeah, when the lag kicked in, I thought to upgrade to the latest one but that didn't fix anything. So now I'm back to Flash 10.1
