Flash won't load in IE

I'm not a techie so this may be a simple fix. I've downloaded
and installed the latest flash update several times but it still
doesn't work. One of the downloads I actually included the toolbar
which worked but still no luck with flash. When finished it says
that the installation is complete but every time I access a site
that uses flash it doesn't work.
I'm currently running IE 7.0.5730.11. Is there a setting that
I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is likely the website in question.
Many websites use flash player detection scripts. When a new
version of the flash player comes out after the script that is
being used is created, the script often breaks, and continuously
tells you that you don't have flash installed, or that your flash
is too old.
But, it could be a problem with your activeX controller as
well. To fix this, delete the following folder:
C:/Windows/Downloaded Program Files. This folder contains all of
the activeX controls that IE uses as you browse. By deleting the
folder (or at a minimum the Flash controller inside the folder -
typically denoted as Shockwave Flash Object or some such) you force
IE to redownload the activeX the next time you browse. This, for
me, always fixes a corrupt activeX control.
I would try the activeX controller fix first, and if you
still have problems, contact the website in question about their
detection script.

  • Flash won't load xml generated from coldfusion

I have a swf file that used to load in xml files. It worked
perfectly fine. However, I then realized it would make more sense
to have the flash load a cfm file that creates xml on the fly.
My cfm page is creating perfectly fine xml but the flash
    won't load it. WHY!?
Here is the path to my xml...

In my flash file I load the cfm the way I used to load the

look for links for player installation troubleshooting.
Also make sure that anti spy ware / ad ware and other that

  • Flash won't load from creative suite..

I downloaded a trial of Flash from the Adobe site 5 months
ago. I recently purchased Creative Suite 3 w/ Flash included.
Every program from my newly purchased CS3 disks load up and
activate except for Flash. When I tried to reinstall from the
disk it tells me that Flash is already installed, but when I look
in the application folder it's no where to be found. I trashed the
old expired trial version and tried to reload - still no success??
    Any suggestions...?

  • Flash won't load. Please help?

Flash player won't load and when I right-click it says movie not loaded. I have windows 8 64-bit and the latest version of Flash Player. Can you help?

It works OK for me in Firefox.  Which browser(s) have you tested it on?
Flash form scripts may be conflicting with banner scripts.  I don't know.  Also, you have some validation errors on the page.  Start by fixing those.

every site, youtube, etc are all OK. But myspace videos for some

Now another site won't load them:

What is unique about the flash on these sites that makes them
not load? I have the latest version and I've tried the little fixes
I've read here, but those are mostly for when flash doesn't work at
all, but it works just some sites don't for me. Please help!

Have you installed any new software on your machine lately? I
recently helped someone determine that they had a new firewall
application active that prevented Flash Video from playing on some
    web sites. Here's the thread:

  • Flash won't load, just says 1 item remaining

    Hello,
I have severals flash movies on my website that work fine. I
used the exact same move and swapped out the symbols and placed it
on the site. I can see it in IE 6, some of my co-workers can see it
in their IE 6, but other co-workers with IE 6 get a "1 item
remaining" at the bottom of their browser and it never loads. I've
republished, renamed the swf and sometimes it works for me and
other times it doesn't. Any ideas?

  • Upgraded  to mountain lion and Adobe Flash won't load any suggestions

Upgraded to Mountain Lion 3 days ago. After 30 min determined I needed the newest version of Adobe Flash. After going to the site I attempted to download the lastest version and for a moment it looked as if it was downloading but would never pop up "install". No download appeared either. Going thru the trouble shooting guide I changed my preferences to allow 3rd party cookies and the eliminated all references to "flash" in my library. Still no results. Geez, I have spent 2 hours on this new upgrade and was doing better before. Any help out there.?

Download Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265. Open the disc image to mount. Double-click on the installer and install Flash.

  • Adobe flash won't load

I want to watch a video and surf sesamestreet.org

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
    Puffin
    SkyFire
    Photon Flash
    Browse2Go
    iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • Adobe Flash player not loading on most websites but loads fine on youtube.

I read as much articles about this as I can. I cleared my browser cache, deleted cookies, disabled fire-fox addons, disabled Kaspersky, uninstalled and reinstalled Flash using the uninstall tool from adobe website, deleted that cpl file and exe programs from macromedia folder.  its all gone. reinstalled Flash, still same problem. Updated to the most recent version, autoupdated, still nothing.
Flash won't load on websites like Gametrailers, ign, BBC, livestream, CNN and msn websites.
I can only see video, perfectly, clearly and very nice only on youtube. It wont even load on any other website, it just shows a black screen where the video would show. It doesnt ask me to update either. I try tinkering with the settings like hardware acceleration but whenever I switch it around, it reverts back to being on. I check global settings and delete all I can on that and still nothing. It just seems like my flash player is out to piss me off.  I've had this problem for a good 2-3 months and I'm thinking this problem will just go away but of course that's a dumb idea.
I'm upset. I dont know what to do.

Can you try to disable Hardware Acceleration to see if the problem goes away; see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/891337
If it does go away, update the device drivers for your display adapter; see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765

  • How can I fix my App Store on my iPod. When I go to the App Store and click on updates then click on purchased it won't load up the purchased apps. It says its loading then it flashes black and goes to my home screen. How can I fix it

My iPod has a glitch in the App Store. When I go to the App Store and click on updates then click on purchased it won't load up my purchased apps it says it is loading then it flashes black and goes to my home screen. How can I fix it??

Have you udated to iOS 6.0.1?
    Otherwise
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

However Skyfire, Photon, iSwifter and Puffin Web Browser will provide limited Flash capability.

  • Flash website won't load in IE since installing Wordpress

I have a flash website that's been running fine, but since I installed Wordpress on that server, the SWFs won't load from Internet Explorer. It still works fine in Firefox on both the Mac and Windows platforms. The Flash website is not associated with the WP blog at all, but it exists along side. I tried moving the blog folder up a level, farther away from the Flash site, but it didn't help. IE will see the index page, and the html elements, but no longer will load the flash. It's was working fine before. I should mention that there is also a b2 evolution blog installed in another directory on the server, if that makes any difference.
Has anyone else run into this issue? Thank you for any suggestions!

Sorry for posting, I'm an idiot   I made some edits to my index.html file and forgot to save out that pesky .js file that IE needs. It's just coincidence that I happened to install Wordpress the same day. Oh well, everythings OK now!

  • Flash Pro v 11.5 won't load graphics from saved .fla

I have downloaded the latest flash pro cs5.5 package and installed it on 3 different windows XP machines and I get the same bad result.  This is Flash Pro 11.5.0.325 on  XP SP3.
I made a small slideshow swf consisting of two jpeg images and nothing else.  No music or other bells or whistles.  Just 2 images converted to symbols, some keyframe/tween definitions with altered alpha channels.  The slideshow runs perfectly and as I expect.
I save the slideshow as a .fla file.  I need to add some more functionality from this plateau to show that the product can do what we need to the boss.
When I later load this .fla file,  I don't see my graphics on the stage anymore.  I right-click on the images and click on the option in the dialog to update the images.  I see that the white stage now has the image I expected.  When I close the dialog that lets me update the image flash pro abends and I get the crash dialog from microsoft.
Why can I make this slideshow and have it run perfectly, save it successfully (so I think) and then it won't load properly or let me work on it after one save?
I physically called customer support which would not help me.  I must have gotten Nancy Pelosi for support because they wanted to make me buy the package so I could find out what was in it that was causing the problem.  I think my boss would have some sharp instructions for me if I had the company spend close to a grand for something that does not work in the first place.
I have updated the software when the system  tray tells me to,  I have installed the software multiple times on one of the machines.  No matter,  I get the same result in every case.  I thought the software was a full version for 30 days trial but I am now wondering if it is a lameware version that needs purchasing before it will work completely.
Can anyone help me?  I searched the forums (and the internet) and could find no mention of this problem.  I find that hard to understand when I get it so consistently.
    TIA

    Hi Max,
We are currently working on a way to handle these type of images better in Flash. In the mean time, please see below on how to fix these images.
    1. open the JPG in Photoshop.
    2. re-save as a JPG with a different filename.
    3. import the new JPG.
These steps correct the JPG header bytes and allow Flash to correctly read them from XFL files.
In your case specifically, after step 2 you should use the bitmap properties dialog in Flash Library panel to reimport the image. After importing you may or may not see a change on stage. Please save the file, close, and reopen the file. The images will appear on stage correctly.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and thank you for the quick response.
    Quynh
