Flash won't play audio

OS: Windows Vista (32-bit)
Browser: Mozilla Firefox 4.0.1
Flash version: 10.3.181.26
I've runned into a bit of a problem here which i've ultimately narrowed down to Flash, which while still playing video, has lost the capability to playback audio. My speakers work perfectly and i'd figure that my audio codec/software is just the same considering it works on everything but Flash playing websites. I've tried Flash on both Firefox and Internet Explorer to no avail, even after updating both browsers to see if that had any effect whatsoever. Missing.reg'ed it as well.
In addition, i've uninstalled, disabled and then re-added multiple programs (Flash, audio software, and even Java for some reason) to see if it did the trick and nothing came of it.
Googled the hell out of the subject and not a single method has worked for my PC. Anyone else have some good tips?

Make sure plugins are enabled.
Press Command , (comma) to open Safari Preferences then select the Security tab.
Make sure: Allow all other plug-ins is selected.
Quit and relaunch Safari.
If you have ClickToFlash installed, that can prevent Flash content from loading.
Either as an extension: Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Or HD > Users > Library > Internet Plug-Ins

IOS 6.0.1 Safari won't play audio files. Error: "Cannot play audio file."

I recently updated my iPad to iOS 6.0.1, now Safari won't play audio files in any format. Error: "Cannot play audio file." Previously, it worked fine. I tried downloading and using GoogleChrome and Opera Mini, and these also won't play audio. What's up??

Solved the problem. It seems that once iOS 6.0.1 installed, it caused all of my browsers to mishandle audio files. When I reset the iPad, that cleared up the problem.
Before upgrading to iOS 6, my browsers would "autoplay" the sound files. After iOS 6, "autoplay" is disabled so you have to manually click play to play them.
Nonetheless, everything is working fine again except for "autoplay," which I can live with.

MacBook won't play audio/video

My MacBook won't play any audio or video. It also won't open iMovie and when I try to open a photo in iPhoto/Preview, it goes blank. I have tried updating it, reinstalling the flash, using firefox/google chrome etc. I have no idea what is causing this. Is there a way to fix it without having to actually take it into the Apple store? I would appreciate any suggestions! Thanks in advance!

Flash won't play a particular site in IE or Chorme

I can play you tube videos, flash videos and advertisments however there is one site that is flash but won't play. Sometimes in the past I was able to play these videos and certainly in Chorme but something has happened that I can not play in either. In chorme the play button appears but is not downloading, in IE I just get the triangle.

I'm not sure what's going on with Chrome here (I'd suggest opening a bug report here: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/entry), for IE, it appears that the web page code isn't setup to display the video player properly. I was able to view these videos using Firefox.

Elements 11 won't play audio mp3 from within slide show

I've created a slide show and have attempted to insert an audio mp3 file. Audio file shows that it has been added to slide show but it wil not play.
I've added the mp3 multiple ways, by using the add media -- audio from element organizer as well as by add media ---audio from file but it won't play
MP3 plays fine when I click on it from the organizer.
I've tested the mp3's that came with elements 11 and they play fine. What's the deal?

Is it from within the iTunes library? Try deleting album art and then adding the track again.

ITunes won't play audio with mp4 or mov video

I have wasted many frustrating hours now trying to get iTunes to play mp4 and mov videos but can't get any sound. A few months back it was working fine. Tried ALL the suggested fixes like uninstalling, updating and checking all the MIME/File boxes. When I went back to QT 7.5 and played the files independently of iTunes everything was fine. Quicktime 7.6, 7.67 & 7.7.1 do not play the audio independently or under iTunes and of course iTunes won't play video with QT less than 7.7.1. The same mp4 videos uploaded to my iPOD work fine. I currently have iTunes 10.5.3.3 installed on a Windows XP SP3 on an e-machines pc. Ideas please!!

I got this problem as well. Seems as soon as I moved to version 7.6 it stopped playing my video audio. My music plays fine, but my video audio is non-existant. It's not the file itself because I can play off my iPod (though not off my iPod through iTunes) just fine. I've done all the suggestions above and NOTHING has worked. Is there anything else we can find???

QuickTime 7 Audio Issue (Won't play audio in certain video clips)

I'm having a problem getting audio to play with clips in QuickTime 7, and it doesn't play at all in iDVD when I drag a clip in to burn a DVD. I'm also having problems getting Final Cut Pro to play audio from time to time. Is this being caused by a recent Apple security update or is there something else going on?

I have downloaded another persons inquiry because it is exactly the problem I am having. Here is his post
"I make movies of cells and convert them to quick time and insert them into powerpoint for presentations for conferences. I never had a problem with this until I upgraded to office 2004 and now many (but not all) of my movies won't play. They seem to be there but when I click play they go white as though there is only the first image. I had saved them as cinepak and or jpeg A usually with image J or older ones from the original NIH image and I can't figure out what the problem is. I even upgraded to quicktime pro to resave them as self contained but still they don't work when I insert them. I can play them all with quicktime player and when I make new ones now in image j I save them as video and that seems to work but it would be very difficult to go back and do that with everything. Does anyone know why or how to fix this?"
My additional comments would be I used the Sample_iTunes.mov from QT and it plays like a champ in PPT. My movies are all from 2004. When I save them in the QT 7.1.3 it doesn't seem to make any difference. The older movies insert into PPT as a QT icon with 4 color quadriant. Everything including .swf are now working in QT. Thanks for your help. When I go back to 7.0.3 they work but then I can't play my videos in iTunes unless I do an erase and a reinstall to get rid of the updated iTunes. Thanks

Hi All, I'm new here so sorry if I'm not asking this in the right place.
Here's the deal. My fiancées mom bought this touch pad so she could listen to my Fiancées radio show on line.

I have two TouchPads, both have Android installed on them.
I booted the 16gb one back into webOS, and you are right - it won't play.
The other, using Android ICS as it's OS was able to pull up some of the DJ's, and I was able to listen to shows.
I suggest you check out the "Android on the TouchPad" section of webosnation.com to consider loading Android onto your device. Officially, we can't support this option here on HP's forum, so all liability will be yours if you choose this option.

Are you referring to IE in Windows or the old IE on the Mac? The old IE for Mac has been discontinued a very long time ago and isn't worth keeping on the HD. If a PC then that's a Windows or PC issue I would think.

80G won't play audio books or restore

I’m the owner of a week old 80G iPod which seemed ok till today. New up to date Win iTunes. Now I try to listen to any audio book that worked yesterday. The iPod seems to go into a auto reset operation, with the apple symbol showing, then returns to the select operation mode. I’ve tried listening more than a dozen times to several different audio books with the same results. All musical MP3s play fine. I tried manual reset with no positive results.
I tried RESTORE but constantly get a error message that it can’t connect to the server because I need to be connected to the internet??????????? I connect to the Apple store and other sites with no problem. I went to MY computer and tried a quick format and it did nothing, I probably should be grateful!
I just installed another 390Meg book which installed fine but again won’t play. It will not eject using iTunes or My computer saying it’s in use??????? I've shut it off for various times with the same results.
HELP I need some direction before I zap it totally. TYIA VIC

Captured video won't play audio

Hi, I hope someone can help! I'm very new to FCE4. When I capture digital video the audio won't play back in either the viewer or time line. The audio has captured though as I can play the clips in quick time or ITunes. Is there a setting for this or do you think it's a fault?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Make sure you have Canvas Playback enabled. From the FCE menu bar, select View>Video Out>Canvas Playback.

Hp Pavilion dv7 won't play audio through HDMI

Hi i recently noticed my Pavilion dv7 entertainment notebook won't play sound through the tv anymore. The picture is on the tv but sound is running through the laptop speakers? I never had a problem with this until now. When i open up the sound options, the ATI HDMI output says it's not connected and so it wont let me select it, but it is connected? Please help?

Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your AMD Graphics Driver package as this will also reinstall the AMD HDMI Audio driver- the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the relevant document on the link below.
Recovery Manager - Windows 8.
Recovery Manager - Windows 7
Recovery Manager - Windows Vista
After the reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook.

FCO 10.2 won't play audio. Was fine in 10.1.4, projects open fine, the meter shows it playing, made all correct connections in Inspector, but no sound to system?

Since upgrading to FCP 10.2 from 10.1.4, I'm now not able to get sound even though it shows it's playing in the meter. The clip is a .wav 48k, I have highlighted the audio, gone into the Inspector, chosen Audio, in Pan Mode I've chosen Stereo Left/Right and made sure Stereo is selected on the file in the Channel Configuration. Solo does not help nor is skimming available.
All other audio apps are fine including Quicktime.
Also, I triedstarting a new Project and Importing audio, but the same result. Please let me know what I'm missing.
Is there a way to rollback to 10.1.4 to finish this project?

Thanks Tom- shortly after I posted I read that and the multichannel change in the AudioMidi Setup was indeed the answer!
In reading through the posts, I see you have had answers to many issues so perhaps you help with this :
In 10.1.4, I had used an FX Factory effect for scrolling credits and now it won't play back on 10.2. If I highlight the clip, I have the ability to edit the text, but it won't play- any help is appreciated.
Is there a way to rollback to 10.1.4 to finish this project?
