i got a major virus attack.downloaded kaspersky and super
anti-spyware to fix it. i have tried to download flash and player
and it says flash loaded but won't play.the media player,zip. tried
shutting off kaspersky to do downloads,uninstalled and re=installed
both flash and player and they won't work.any suggestions on what
else to do to get back flash and media player?

What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? what has changed since it worked? How are you trying to open it (clicking on the icon in the Dock, double clicking on the application in the applications folder, ???)?
Anything else you can tell a total stranger who can not see you or your computer to let them assist you?

Flash won't work on after updating

When I went to play Boggle Bash or Mahjong Garden on POGO.com. , a pop-up came up and said that my flash player was out of date. After updating 3 times, I still cannot play my flash games on POGO. The same pop-up shows up stating that my flash player needs to be updated. I checked the current version and it is the latest one, 16.0.0.305 for Firefox and Windows 7 . Why isn't this update being recognized? I have gone through the list of trouble shooting to no avail. What should I do to get my games working again. Thanks

IPhoto won't install/download after updating Maverick

Good afternoon,
I have updated my OS from ML to Maverick since Apple released the new update. Bundled with the OS updates, there were a few other apps update which includes iPhoto, iMovie etc. I have successfully updated every apps except for iPhoto and everytime I press on the update button on App Store, the updating process freezes there and it does not update.
Now that I have tried deleting iPhoto and re-initiate the iPhoto installation from app store again, the update process still freezes and I get a 'blue' bar at the Launchpad icon whereby it does not state the 'Downloading - x MB of xMB, neither can I launch the grayed-out iPhoto app in the launchpad. Can someone please help? I need to retrieve photos from my iPhone for my assignments and this process is obstructing my progression.
I created a iPhoto backup on the desktop and deleted the initial iPhoto from the applications folder and opened up my app store again and this is what I got:
Restored the backup copy from desktop to Applications folder, still not working.

Read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data.
Quit the App Store application if it’s running.
Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
Caches/com.apple.appstore
Caches/com.apple.storeagent
Caches/storeagent
Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist
Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.appstore.plist
Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.storeagent.plist
Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist
Leave the Library folder open. Log out and log back in. Try the App Store again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
Step 2
If you still have problems, quit again. Go back to the Finder and move the following items from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist
Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
Test. If the App Store now works, delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, quit again. Put back the files you moved, overwriting the newer ones that may have been created in their place, and continue.

Why won't Silverlight download after 10.9.1

My Early 2013 Retina Macbook Pro updated itself to OS X 10.9.1 last night and since then, I couldn't access Netflix. Netflix support said this was probably a Silverlight issue, so asked me to re-install Silverlight. Unfortunately the MS Silverlight site does not recognise my machine as a supported platform and the download never starts. I have tried the latest versions of Safari, Chrome and Firefox all to no avail. I used to have no problem before with Silverlight or Netflix. Has anyone else come across this ?

Since you are using Mavericks/iTunes 11, you will have to consider using iCloud for syncing.
iTunes 11 for Mac: Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad explains this option.
I find iCloud convenient and reliable for Calendar syncing. Since you appear to have the required equipment and software, I recommend that you consider using it.

Why the flash player don't work after installing the video downloader add-on?

I've installed and uninstall the Firefox mobile app several times to try and fix this issue. Every time I add the video downloader add-on the flash player won't let me tap to play videos anymore. I've tried to completely enable the flash but still didn't work. I've used this add on for a few months and it worked fine up until the last Firefox update. Without the add-on the flash player works fine but after I've added the video downloader add-on I would have to uninstall and reinstall the mobile spot to get the flash to work again. I really love to use this add-on that's the advantage that Firefox mobile app has over other web browser. Please tell me how I can fix this issue. THANKS

About your problem , have you tried to clear your privacy/browsing data? And see if flash works?
And you can try to disable the add-on, if you don't want to use it . and enable it again if you want to download a video .

I have problems with Adobe Flash Player 11 NOT working after several attempts to download, then uninstall, & re-install.
I uninstalled the previous versions of Adobe Flash Player from my computer PRIOR to attempting to install the new 11 version, so now I'm unable to view videos, etc.,
I'm using Windows Vista 32 bit, Internet Explorer 9.0 (which I closed when I got error messages during Adobe Flash Player 11 Installation. I've disabled my AVG -Virus also during the installation of Flash Player 11.
FYI, I'm not computer savvy so the YouTube video by Adobe Tech was too complicated to follow AND I'm unable to view (DUH!) it since I have no Flash Player program installed (doesn't make sense!) .

I live with Adobe. At work we have 6 fully Adobied LR4/CS5 & 6/InDesign workstations. I'm a photographer using nothing but Adobe products and quite frankly I feel this is the worst treatment you have ever given your customers.
Please stop the CYA and just fix the damm thing! I realize you didn't write it Chris but surely you can get Adobe management to address this instead of just trying to get their users to try and debug it for the airheads that released it. Has anyone stopped to consider the financial damage being done due to videos not playing the ads that support the sites and no doubt stream revenue to Adobe? These guys have rolled the online experience back 5 years minimum and Adobe will probably pay the price for it. Re-issue a working version and go back to the drawing board!

Have you run the iPhoto Library Upgrader? You need to direct it to the location of your old iPhoto Library by clicking the "Choose Library" button in the lower right corner of the panel you are seeing when the upgrade starts.

Problem solved. It helps to use CS5 to open a CS5 document. When you use the right key, the door opens. Lesson: Don't store installation discs of inactive versions with installation discs of current versions.

This FAQ should describe the issue - you need to be using Adobe Reader (free) or Adobe Acrobat to fill out the PDF, Preview on the Mac breaks the PDF so it is no longer usable: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2653
