Flash won't save to a network mapped drive

We upgraded a RAID5 disk array that we map from a network
share recently. The original disk was 1.8TB the new one is a GPT
disk that is 3.6TB.
Now when we try to save files from FLASH CS3 we get errors
concerning the file or disk is read only, make sure another program
doesn't have the file open..etc..etc...
All the permissions on the disk are fine. Photoshop CS3,
Dreamweaver etc..all play fine with the large GPT disk. Anyone else
have this problem or know of a solution.
I know the first release of Encore had this problem even with
TB drives. If it was over 1,000MB it did the same.
thanks for any input.
PS: I have let the adobe updated get all the appropriate
updates for all products.

Hi and welcome to Apple Discussions,
Did you get the flash drive from a reliable source. There are some available on the net that show a large capacity but are only 512 mb. or 1 gb. drives that have been altered to display a much larger capacity.
Good luck,
Alan

    Hi people,
I've spent a lot of time with windows indexing on mapped drive. But without result. I've tried install hotfix, but nothing happens, Add-in works only for 32bit system, but I use 64bit. Using of symbolic link in library is without result too. I don't know,
why MS released add-in only for 32bit. Could you help me, how to solve this problem?

  • Watched folders and network mapped drives

Using watched folders feature, If I select one of my network mapped drives, PSE7 display a message saying the path is wrong :
Any chance it could work ? Thank you ...

You gave us no details on how your clients are configured.
If you are runnning Windows clients, then you need to enable machine authentication ON THE WIRELESS CLIENT and on ACS. Since you are using TLS, you also need to have a machine certificate on the computer.
Machine authentication will allow the wireless computer to connect to the wireless network BEFORE the user logs on. In this way, login scripts and drive mappings will take place the same way they would with a wired connection.
I believe you can search Cisco.com for an article that talks about the ACS and client settings for machine auth.

  • File share, network mapped drives

Simple network.  One Server and two clients.  For a year the network was great.  File shares operated perfectly.  Last Tuesday windows automatically downloaded and installed security updates and the network connectivity went down.
I have discovered that if the firewalls are turned off the mapped drives will connect.  When the firewalls are turned back on the mapped drives drop and communication goes bye bye.  I have tried so many things.  Adding new rules, opening ports
and still the network will fail when the firewalls are turned back on.  If anyone has any suggestions I need help.  The OS on the server is Windows Server 2008, the clients are running Windows 7 professional.  The only other software on the
pc's is AVG business security edition.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  Thank You.

  • Coldfusion Cannot Detect Network Mapping Drive

I am using CFdirectory tag and want to use mapped drive in
the directory attribute. and ColdFusion is unable to detect the
    mapped drive.
Coldfusion is running as a System service.
My question is how can i create a mapped drive , so that
    Coldfusion can detect it.
    Thank you

Starting from Win2003 (or it happened earlier?), drives are
mapped per user (info kept in user profiles). Therefore, if you
mapped a network path to a logical drive, as, let's say,
Administrator, the service running under another account cannot see
    it. Options:
    1. Run service under specific account.
    2. Use UNC convention: \\server\share\path

  • Help! Logic Express 9 won't save projects to external Firewire Drive...

In our studio, we use Logic express 9 as an editor. I used 5 copies on 5 different Macs without problem. I installed a new copy on a Mac Book pro 17 but when I open a project and "Save As" my firewire 800 drive doesn't list as an option to save it. The disk works perfectly, it's formated Mac OS extended, I records externally with the other studio macs. It shows on my desktop and I can play files fine, it just doesn't show as an option in the Logic Express 9 "Save As" menu on this particular mac. I've searched the forums, but can't find this exact problem. Anyone know how to make it show as an option in the "Save As" menu?

  • After FLash, won't save CMOS settings, trys to boot from network

MS-6712 board, flashed BIOS, now 7/29/03 v1.9, with AMD XP 2500 Barton.
Win XP, plain old home computer on dialup.
I flashed BIOS, now it will not let me enter BIOS by pressing DEL key.
It boot to screen that says "Press to display network boot option
If you ignore, it says "Try network boot first, then local drives" and goes to a screen CMOS settings wrong. F1 to enter setup, F2 to load defaults"
If you SHift-Tab, it says press R for RPL, P for PXE, any key to load local drive.
No matter what you press, it comes to the CMOS Setting wrong screen.
I flashed BIOS, CTRL-HOME back to old BIOS - same message, so then and back to new one again, etc.  I did a FIXMBR and FIXBOOT in windows XP.  No luck. The problem is that even after setting up BIOS to boot from hard drive, etc, ad save changes and restart, it won't remember the settings.  The battery is also testing at proper volt.  I did just replace bad RAM after upgrading to AMD 2500, but it was fine before I flashed.  PLEASE HELP!!!!  By the way, I can understand technical instructions and PC terms (I think)

  • Flash won't save or test run my files

Hi, I guess this might have already been posted before, most
    things I post have....
When I have copied my fla files over to my laptop so I can
take work home with me, I can't then test movie, publish or save
    the files.
How come? I just get this message:
    "Error creating Flash Movie File.
Be sure the destination file is not reed-only or opened by
another application. Also, check that the file name is not too
    long."
None of the files are reed only and it only happens when I
    move them to my laptop.
I really need to get this work done this weekend but can't if
they don't run on my laptop.

Not sure which OS you're using, but if you use Vista or Win7, the first time you launch DW, right-click and run as Administrator.  Set-up your site definition settings, extensions, browsers and other preferences from this elevated mode.
    Hope this helps,

  • How do I get windows 7 to Index a network mapped drive?

I would like to change the location of my lobraries in Win 7 to a network drive but every time I change the location, it says it cannot be used because it's not indexed, so how do I get a network drive to be indexed or if there is a way around it I'd accept that too.

here's a solution... that indexes the contents of a folder on another networked computer - WITHOUT MAPPING THE NETWORK...
I don't like to spend a lot of time screwing around with the "mindboggling" os conflict stuff of Microsoft with Windows 7, Vista, xp-pro, etc.
THIS WORKS FOR ME... but since I'm just an "average user," I can't always explain the "intuitive" computer solutions to problems that I come up with in a sequential "step like" manner...
This SOLUTION may be useful in resolving other networking conflict issues when you are using various hardware and software.
The TWO computers I'm using for this example:  a gaming Windows 7 x64 laptop, and an XP-Pro desktop.  (I also have a Vista laptop, and another desktop with XP-home... but I don't use those that often - so I don't really care if this "solution"
    works on those, etc.)
Anyway, I'll tell you the steps I did, though, I don't really understand "how all this works" - it just does.
Some points first, before I give you a "step by step..."
    1.  I can always access ALL NETWORK LOCATIONS AND FILES from my "Windows 7 x64" laptop.
    2.  I often can't access all network locations, etc. from my XP-Pro desktop... sometimes I can, but I don't know what I have done to cause this... and it's not to important to me... as long as MY MAIN LAPTOP can access everything on the network all
the time. (This probably has something to do with WIN 7 being "backwardly compatible" with previous hardware/software like XP but NOT THE REVERSE, etc.  So, whenever I'm doing something "involving my network" ... I try to work "top-down" from the superior
    WIN 7 system, etc.
OK... here's what I did... "experts" can figure out "if this is useful to you" and whether it has "other potential uses, etc."
here's a rough sketch of the "problem I was having" and the solution.
I often jump between two computers on my network... the win7 laptop and the xp pro desktop... and I wanted to have a "notepad file" that I use as a daily "do list," and I wanted to have it's contents change and be in sync, no matter which computer I had
updated the notepad file on.  Now, I know THAT CAPABILITY is simply a matter of having it shared on the network.  Now I originally created the notepad file on the xp desktop.  Then, I went upstairs and found the shared folder I had put it in
from the desktop... and, of course, I could "change the contents of the file in sync" between the two computers...
Now, the problem came in when (from my laptop I could NOT INDEX the "shared folder on my desktop.")  I tried MAPPING the network drive, and IT WOULDN'T do it...(some kind of issue between win7 and xp, etc.)
ANOTHER COMPLETELY DIFFERENT APPROACH occurred to me... AND THAT WORKED...so here's what was involved... and it INDEXED THE "SHARED FOLDER ON THE DESKTOP COMPUTER" without "mapping the network."  ...why this works... YA GOT ME... BUT IT DOES!
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:  (all below is for WIN 7 X64 networked with older systems like XP... this method may work in other cases, too)
    1.  I created a "notepad" file on my xp desktop.  (called the file "bingo.txt")
    2.  Created a "folder" and named it "bingo" also.  (made this a "shared folder" and put the "bingo.txt" file in it)
    3.  Did a "network locations" search for this folder and put it in with the other shared folders/files in the "desktop network" location.
    4.  Went upstairs to my "win7 laptop"
    a.  pressed the Start button and entered "favorites" (without the quotation marks) into the little "search" rectangle that appeared just above the Start button.  The "Favorites" folder appeared at the top of the list.  I clicked on it and
the Favorites folder opened... then I "right clicked" on the "Recent Places" folder and created a "shortcut" on my desktop.
    b.  Now, whenever I click on any folder or file including the "shortcut to bingo.txt (which is on my win7 laptop for quick access)...well, the NETWORKED FOLDER:  "bingo" suddenly shows up in "Recent Places" as a shortcut.  THESE SHORTCUTS
CAN BE DELETED since that's all they are ... JUST BE SURE you are still in the RECENT PLACES FOLDER.  For example:  I clicked on a "shared network folder" and almost deleted it by accident... NOT REALIZING THAT I WAS NO LONGER IN THE "Recent Places"
folder...so, make sure before you delete.  It's of course OK to "select all" and delete all the shortcuts that accumulate over time in the "Recent Places" folder, etc.  Also I set the "sort" on the Recent Places folder to date/time, so that the "most
recent" place I have been "is always at the top of the list.
    c.  So, far - and this is interesting - ONLY FOLDERS SHOW UP in the locations you visit then look for in the "Recent Places" folder.  So, for example, when I click on the shortcut (on my win7 laptop) for "bingo.txt"... and then later check the
Recent Places folder... well, only the "shared network folder BINGO appears there!"  (not the bingo.txt file that's in it... I didn't click on the actual folder, just the bingo.txt shortcut, but what appears in the Recent Places folder IS ONLY THE NETWORK
    FOLDER)
    d.  Now, the mystery: (my win7 computer was "indexing" in the background all this time) WHEN I DID A SEARCH FOR "bingo" ...the "bingo.txt" file was at the top of the list... I "right clicked" on it to check the properties (thinking the index has just
located the shortcut on my desktop maybe)...BUT THE PROPERTIES ...showed the "networked location" on my desktop downstairs.
    e.  IN CONCLUSION:  I now have the capability to INDEX folders/files ON OTHER NETWORKED COMPUTERS from my "win7 x64 laptop" WITHOUT HAVING TO MAP THE NETWORK DRIVE!!!  (maybe because the index catches the "bingo folder" being CURRENTLY ACCESSED
INDIVIDUALLY when I pull up the "Bingo.txt" by clicking it's shortcut on my laptop....
you guys can play around with this... DON'T KNOW WHY the "index" didn't show "bingo.txt" (residing on my desktop downstairs) until I placed a "shortcut" to the "Recent Places" folder on my laptop desktop screen... might have something to do with the "complex
index parameters" of Win 7, etc... but I don't have the time to try an trace it down, or test it, etc.
... The win 7 indexing system MAY INDEX ANY SHARED FOLDER from another networked computer WHEN IT'S BEING ACCESSED LIVE on the win 7 computer... is probably what's happening... so I didn't have to "map the network drive" but I did have to "BE ACCESSING A
FOLDER from another computer" for it to INDEX THAT FOLDER... now I don't, for example, know whether the INDEX system of my win7 laptop (running in the background) might not index a folder IF IT WAS DOING SOMETHING ELSE IN A BRIEF TIME that I was accessing
the folder from the other computer.
Win 7 index, from my experience, does seem to give some preference to INDEXING files you have recently or are currently accessing... if that helps.
    anyway,
    hope this helps some
flashrob (my website:  dimestop.com if you're interested... probably put some of my fixes there, more permanently, etc.)

  • CS3 Won't save Droplet on FAT32 formatted drive. (leopard) [solved]

PS CS3 doesn't want to save a droplet on my mac (Leopard).
I'm getting a message when I hit "save droplet" as follows:
"Could not create the droplet file [path/filename] because this volume format is not supported."
It turns out the answer was that the drive I was saving to was a FAT32 formatted drive. Apparently you can't save droplets to FAT32 drives.
Sometimes I wish I had my PC back!
Just posting in case somebody else runs into the problem.
    Susan

Well known fact. Fat 32 is not supported.
You couldn't use that drive as a scratch drive either.
Drives MUST be formatted to Macintosh HFS+ Extended (Journaled).

  • When using a personal dropbox account, is it possible to use the mapped drive without downloading all my dropbox files to my hard drive as well?

When using a personal (not business) dropbox account on my mac book pro, is it possible to use the mapped drive only?  Currently I have dropbox mapped to my computer but it is also saving a redundant copy of the data on my hard drive.  My goal is to pull, edit and save files on the mapped drive only without having a redundant back up of all my dropbox files on my computer wasting valuable storage space.   Any advice out there?  Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't believe that is accurate, but maybe I am missing something (I am not a Windows user).
Looking at 2 explanation of how to map a Dropbox as a drive…
    http://lkeng.org/wp/?p=147
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d8uvseVr5A
Both of those are linking to the 'local copy' of Dropbox. It is not a true 'network' drive as far as I can see (it still requires the local copy on the PC).
Another video suggests using another service to mount the Dropbox, but that is not using Dropbox anymore, it is going through Otixo…
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAIpm2qmglU
Dropbox does not provide easy to use URL's to mount as a network disk so I don't think this is possible on OS X.
    Dropbox's forum has this too…
    https://www.dropboxforum.com/hc/communities/public/questions/202133795-How-to-ma p-dropbox-as-a-network-drive-on-Mac?loca…
You may need to examine the Windows computers carefully - if they have Dropbox installed & running then all the files are stored on the local machine in addition to the 'mapped drive'.
It looks to me like people are 'redirecting' the local copy to appear like a remote disk just so they can address that path on other machines - each PC is being setup the same. You could create aliases on OS X, but it doesn't help move files off the machine.
Hopefully someone else will contradict me, but I don't think this is how Dropbox works.

  • Files Uploaded using Mapped Drive (UNC) to SharePoint Document library Putting a copy in Recycle Bin , odd SharePoint Behaviour

    Hello All,
One of my client reported a strange behaviour.
Client mapped SharePoint document library to local share(UNC, NetWork Map Drive). Opened MS Word on local machine ,saved it to the share on his local machine. The document is saved successfully to SharePoint document library. But at the same time he can
see a file with same name in Recycle bin and the size of the document in Recycle bin is <1k.
Does any one know whether it is expected behaviour, why SharePoint putting this 1k file in Recycle bin?
I tried the same thing on my Dev Environment for both SharePoint 2010 and 2013, in both environments the behaviour is same as my client experience.
I have seen in forums some other people also experiencing this odd behaviour, but no one knows why.
any info on this much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
i tried in my environment for 2010 and 2013. The issue doesn't occur.
    Here is what i did.
1, Create a new mapped drive(\\servername\DavWWWRoot\Shared Documents) for document library
2, New a Word doc and input some string, save in the mapped drive.
3, The doc exists in the document library, but no file in Recycle Bin.
    Did i miss something?
