Flash10a.ocx error

I’m sure this topic has already been addressed and I
apologize for starting another thread but as luck would have it
every time I do a search I get an error message (perhaps related to
my problem.. who knows).
Anyways my problem is that anytime I try to watch a video in
a web browser, flash always crashes…. Doesn’t matter
the site, the content, length or the browser (Firefox, Chrome,
Explorer or Safari) I get the same error with all. On average I can
get about 2 minutes of perfectly fine video and then out of the
blue it crashes.
I have tried to uninstall flash using adobe’s flash
uninstaller, and reinstalling multiple versions of flash (older
flash 9 and 10) and still get the same result.
As well I have noticed thousands of posts all over the net
describing the same issue, but so far no one I have seen seems to
have the solution, so I am sure this is a common problem. Any input
would be appreciated.

Hi Friend,

  • Flash10e.ocx Error!

    Hi,
I recently installed a software that uses Flash Player in it. However, I'm having trouble starting the program as it crashes with the following message:-
    Run-time Error 339:
Component 'Flash10e.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
I tried manually installing the OCX file but with no luck. Can somebody tell me what's wrong?

I navigated to the folder you mentioned but I can't find the Flash32_15_0_0152.ocx file that you are talking of. Instead, I have the following list of files :
    FlashInstall.log
    flashplayer.xpt
    FlashPlayerPlugin_15_0_0_152.exe
    FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe
    FlashUtil11c_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil11c_ActiveX.exe
    FlashUtil32_15_0_0_152_Plugin.exe
    install.log
    mms.cfg
    NPSWF32.dll
    NPSWF32_15_0_0_152.dll
    NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe
    plugin.vch
    uninstall_plugin.exe
    By the way, I'm using a 32-bit PC so I don't have the "SysWOW64" folder. Instead, I have a "System32" folder.
Thanks for trying to help! I really appreciate it.

  • Error: Can't write: C:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10e.ocx

When i install Flash 10, there was a error message showing "Can't write: C:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10e.ocx". I chose to ignore, installation can be completed but i still can't view any Flash file. I tried every steps showing in  Adobe Flash Player Support Center to troubleshoot the issues, but i can't go any where. Will anyone know what's the problem and how i can install the Flash player on my laptop? I am using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer. Thanks heaps!

    Is your Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?
Can you try to download this installer http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe, save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer - do you get the same message?

  • Games keep shutting down-error code Flash10e.ocx... PLEASE HELP :)

Hello there.  I'm having problems playing some online games, that I never had before.  I'm not too computer literate, but I'm not a complete moron either, lol.  Anyhoo, here's the deal.  The game will run for approximately 7 minutes or so, then it will freeze and a window will pop up and tell me that it adobe flash player has encountered a problem and needs to close.  It gave me the error code Flash10e.ocx, if that helps at all.  I've even uninstalled the flash player and re-installed it and that didn't help at all.  If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it, as this is getting quite annoying.  Thanks

Hi Sunny, OCG started his own thread and I just replied to it.
It is always helpful to post your operating system and browser(s) and versions. Also since the 64bit is out more than before that info also. Whether you are using the 32bit or the 64bit.
    Thanks,

  • Flash10a.ocx problem, causes IE to Close. HELP!

I have been getting this message frequently:
Internet Explorer has experienced a problem with an add-on
    and needs to close.
The following add-on was running when this problem occurred:
    Add-on Name: Flash10a.ocx
    Company Name: Adobe Systems Incorporated
    Description: Adobe Flash Player
The message pops up, and it then closes and restarts Internet
    Explorer.
What is causing this, and how can I fix it?
    Thanks so much!

Let's see now..."Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
with an add-on and needs to close..." for "Flash10a.ocx". This
    occurs on Windows 2000, Windows XP SP1, SP2, SP3, can't confirm
Vista, but others do here as well and on IE6, IE7 and IE8 and not
on Firefox and ver9 caused no such issues.
Ver10 included very important security updates...apparently
designed to crash your system(s) and cause your company money in
wasted IT time. No comment or fix at all in over 3-months now.
I plan to talk to IT at my company and see about reverting
all systems to 9.x and/or blocking all flash related content at the
hardware firewall level as we do Bittorrent and other crap. Let's
see how they react when their partners are informed that over
20,000 people can no longer see their advertisements and if we can
get it to cascade to other companies and if they fix it before
their customers lynch them for eliminating or pissing off their
    customers customers or target audience.
Never thought I'd see the day when Adobe is so lazy and
sloppy and insensitive that they make M$ look like a saint.
Unrelated I am also sick of their stupid Adobe Reader eating up
tons memory and crashing itself or the system...on a 4GB
workstation (3GB available). Do you guys have any programmers left
that know anything or did you outsource them are are partying on an
    island with AIG execs?
Fix it or prepare to feel it in your bottom line...I've had
it with you lazy software companies that for upgrades that cause
    more issues than they resolve!

UPDATE: Apparently Flash10b aka Flash Player 10.0.22.87 was
released on Feb24, 2009 to pretty quiet fanfare...if you look
closely you will find it VERY hard to see any mention of actual
FIXES besides critical security enhancement...until you dig deeper
and find the actual change log which lists
The following issues have been fixed in Flash Player
    10.0.22.87:
    • Flash Player 10 crashes in IE7 due to the use of a
dynamic TextField as a mask on another display object when the
field set to anti-alias for readability. (FP-1238/2256938)
    • A sound stream error #2032 will cause the playback of
a separate stream to stop playback. (FP-910/2251944)
    • Japanese text mojibake (garbled) at Input Text in
    Flash 5 swf. (2223727)
    • Ming created file does not play in Flash Player 10 in
    any browser. (FP-769/2217038)
    • FileReference.save() can save invalid Windows
filename like "sticky." so users are never able to delete.
    (2202963)
    • Setting bitmap width/height before super() crashes
    player. (FP-760/2216975)
    • Audio is scratchy with static/streamed with sample
    rate greater than 44kHz. (FP-862/2216961)
    • Seeking H264 video on the first few frames causes IE
    to crash. (FP-913/2216957)
    • Fullscreen in Flash Player 10 hangs with Flex 3
    horizontal slider. (FP-812/2216948)
    • Matrix3D AS3 class implementation is difficult to use
    for general math. (2216936)
    • The Origin header should be put on the banned headers
    list. (2202975)
    • Using drawingAPI2 in certain conditions when the
Shape is not yet on the displayList can crash. (FP-761/2202966)
    • Adding 2 vectors with float4 input and output
    produces incorrect result. (2202964)
    • Attempting to install to a non-C:\ drive results in
'lack of disk space' error. (2202957)
    • Fix AS APIs' inconsistent handling of NaN parameters
    on different platforms. (FP-612,FP-903, FP-964/2200454)
    • SampleDataEvent playback in IE7 window crashes
browser when new Flash window displayed. (FP-985/1935068)
    • When receiving multiple speex audio streams, audio
    may be garbled. (1934243)
    • When the end of a video is reached at certain
websites, IE crashes instead of showing the next frame.
    (FP-1123/1932362)
    • UIA mistakenly over-enforced in previous release.
    (2262898)
    • Japanese characters are mojibake when they are
entered into an input text filed on the Mac Player. (FP-40/2269305)
Yes I'm sure 6 IE related Crash fixes are all "security"
related;) Geez...you guys must also think we are only in a minor
economic downturn too. The supidiest thing is that if you go here
    for support:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/
It IRONICALLY claims that, "SUPPORT ALERT Do you have
problems installing or running Adobe® Flash® Player for
Internet Explorer? Most of these problems can be attributed to
Windows Registry permission issues. See our technical documents on
Flash Player and Windows Registry permission errors."
    REALLY...REALLY?!?
Is that why sys admin and hackers (original
definition...computer whiz types) gave detailed issues on
IE6/IE7/IE8 conflicts everywhere including here many times and then
suddenly you sneak in 6-IE related fixes and add such a silly claim
to your support page. Look at the forum message here for some
reality check and PLEASE stop having MARKETING or THE LAWYERS write
all you documentation. Most of us just want stuff fixed and to know
when stuff has bee addressed or fixed....OK!

    >>If all is correct then something else would be causing the problem.
Eidnolb, I am puzzled as to why you are dismissing Flash ocx as the problem when you have this error message. Can you explain how you arrive at that conclusion?

  • Access violation in Flash10e.ocx (10.0.45.2) !!!

I have got access violation error in Flash control:
    address: 0266C772,
    module: Flash10e.ocx,
    read of address: 00100372,
    OS: WinXP SP3 x86
    IE8
How to reintroduce: create simple IWebBrowser control and go within in into the site: games.mail.ru
Then load one game, close it, then load another, the click anywhere on the web page.
This bug only in usage with IWebBrowser control
What support can help with this problem?
    Thank you.

Hi HPN, thanks for the reply. One reason it is always best to start your own thread, is that you don't get so many different posts with different OS/browsers and problems.
I understand the message that you get on some sites. You may want to check your Java versions, the latest being
JRE 6 update 18. Another thing to consider is that the websites that are giving you that message may or may not have
updated their websites to work with the latest version. It may also be that they have their website post a "generic" message. In other words if your FP doesn't match theirs, they just post that generic message, assuming the user has not updated. I have never heard of a website that has NOT updated their site, say, well we have not updated our site, but we see you have the latest. LOL
Just something to consider as to the reason. A lot of variables involved.
When you installed FP using IE, you did remember to Reboot?
You could also check your Add/Remove or Program files on the Java. If the sites that give you that message work with the other browsers, then I would suspect an add on in IE that is conflicting.
Check out your Java first, then we can take a look at the add ons in IE. Some conflict with IE, and also with each other.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb
P.S.  Please clarify: Do you or do you not have the Shockwave Flash Object ActiveX Control installed in IE add ons, whether "currently loaded" or "have been loaded?" Preferably it should be Flash10e.ocx (as I previously explained to MerryMort on her own thread). If it is installed and lists Flash10e.ocx and is Enabled, then I see no problem. The # the IE7 tab says does not rule. The Flash10e.ocx rules since this works with the FP files that are installed in the Flash folder.
I hope this clears up this, "the tab" says. LOL

  • Flash10h.ocx error 80004005

Flash10h.ocx inserted as an ActiveX component in a vb6 form (Windows XP service pack 3, IE 6 sp3, VB6 sp3) works during execution but won't let me save forms anymore with error 80004005.
And I can't install Flash10e.ocx from a saved version because it still reinstalls Flash10h.ocx.
I URGENTLY NEED A Flash10i.ocx update to correct this (or a fix solution, of course)
    PLEASE.
    (Is anybody reading this forum?)

It's good to know that 'm not the only old fart that still uses VB6!
I've got hundreds of thousand lines of code in VB6 and porting it over to .NET would be very un-economical in this stage. Flash is only a small part of my software, but it kept me awake... I kept loosing projects and had to revert back to backups until I found out that the .frx file is the only one affected.
It is the first time EVER that a control crashes a whole project and the honour goes to Adobe...
Hope they'll fix it soon or else I will have to incorporate a web control that shows the flash, not the most elegant solution, but at least that works well...
    Greetings from The Netherlands!

  • Flash 9E OCX Errors

While trying to view or dowload webcam picture. I continue to
get iexplore msg with a problem with
Flash 9E OCX error reports. What needs to be done to correct
this problem. Thanks for your help

Ok, since this is at the top of the list in google searches,
I'll put down what I found worked to help out other people :).
Below is a transcript of a tech support question I posed with
MSN for the same problem. It may help you but you must do
    everything in proper sequence.::
"Thank you for writing to MSN Entertainment Technical
    Support.
This is Philippe and I am sorry to hear that you are unable
to view videos as you keep getting prompted to download the latest
Adobe Flash Player (formerly Macromedia Flash Player).
The issue you are experiencing is due to a lot of causes, as
such, solutions vary. Per our experience, the most common causes
    are:
    - Corrupted Flash player.
    - Spyware/Adware programs installed on your computer.
    - Microsoft Internet Explorer security setting is set too
    high.
    - The ActiveX controls are disabled.
To help you with your issue, please follow the steps below:
Note: Make sure you have the proper permissions to change any
settings on your computer. Please make sure that you are the
Administrator of the computer. If you are on a corporate network,
please contact your system ! administrator for more information. If
you are on a home network, login with an account that has
administrative permissions. If you cannot get administrative
permissions, get a person who can perform the changes for you.
    I. Uninstall your current version of Adobe Flash if you have
    installed it already:
    a. To uninstall Flash using an uninstaller follow the
    recommended steps from Adobe.
    1. Go to
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowled...fm?id=tn_14157
    2. Download the appropriate executable and follow the steps
    in the wizard.
    b. If the automatic uninstall did not work, try a manual
    uninstall.
    1. To manually uninstall Flash Player ActiveX Control on
Windows, follow the recommended steps from Adobe. Refer to:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowled...fm?id=tn_12727

IV. Please check if there are spyware/adware and other
deceptive software on your computer. These may conduct certain
activities on your computer without notifying you and getting your
permission first. These activities may include displaying pop-up
advertisements, changing Web browser settings, and collecting
personal information including your password. There are a variety
of tools that can detect and remove unwanted software from your

    - Script ActiveX Controls Marked Safe for Scripting
    i. Click "OK". A "Warning!" dialog box appears.
    j. Click "Yes".
    k. Click "OK" to close the "Security Settings" box.
    l. Click "OK" to end.
VII. Try to view videos again by visiting the link below:
    http://video.msn.com
You may also want to try a few troubleshooting ! steps that
have helped resolve similar issues in the past.
    I. Clear temporary Internet files and cookies. Temporary
Internet files store the information your computer exchanges with
the websites you visited. These files facilitate the communication
between your computer and the websites. As time passes, these files
become cluttered and can adversely affect the communication.
Therefore, we have to clean up the clutter to ensure seamless
    communication. To clean up:
    a. Start Internet Explorer.
    b. Click "Tools".
    c. Click "Internet Options". The "Internet Options" window
    appears.
    d. Click "General" tab.
    e. Go to "Temporary Internet files".
    f. Click "Delete Files" to delete the cache. The "Delete
    Files" dialog box appears.
    g. Select "Delete all offline content".
    h. Click "Ok" to dele! te files.
    i. Go to "Temporary Internet files". < BR/> j. Click
"Delete Cookies" to delete the cookies. The "Delete Cookies" box
    appears.
    k. Click "Ok" when prompted to delete cookies.
    l. Click "Ok" to close the Internet Options window.
II. Clear temporary files stored in your PC. Windows Temp
folder also acts like the temporary Internet files. To remove
    Windows Temp folder:
    a. Click on Windows "Start" menu.
    b. Click "Run". The "Run" dialog box appears.
    c. Type in "%temp%" (without the quotes) on the space
    provided.
    d. Click "Ok" to open your Temp folder.
    e. Click "Edit" menu.
    f. Click "Select all" to select/highlight all files in this
    folder.
    g. Click "File" menu.
    h. Click "Delete".
    i. Click on "File".
    j. Click "C! lose" to close the folder.
Note: If you are not able to delete all files, this is normal
behavior especially if the file is being used by an application
    that is open.
III. Empty your recycle bin folder.
    a. Right-click the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop.
    b. Click "Empty Recycle Bin".
    c. Click "Yes" if you are prompted to confirm that you want
    to delete the files.
Furthermore, please make sure that the Adobe Flash Player
add-on for MSN Video is enabled on your Internet Explorer. Here's
    how:
    1. Start Internet Explorer.
    2. Click "Tools".
    3. Click "Internet Options".
    4. Click the "Programs" tab.
    5. Click the "Manage Add-ons..." button to launch the Manage
    Add-ons window.
    6. Choose “Shockwave Flash Object” from the list
    of add-ons.
    7. Click “Enable” radio box under
    “Settings” option box.
7.! Click the "OK" button in "Manage Add-ons" window.
    8. Click the "OK" button in the "Program" tab.

  • Can't get past OCX error when installing ODAC 11g on Windows Server 2003

I have been trying to install ODAC 11g on Windows Server 2003 and can't get past the OCX error when registering oravsdbgeng11w.dll. I've read every message on this forum even remotely related to this problem and tried every solution offered. I have done a clean install into a new Oracle home, and made sure Instant Client is always included. All service packs and automatic updates have been installed. For what it's worth I have successfully installed ODAC 11g on Windows XP Pro.
If anyone out there has been able to get this up and running and would care to share the wisdom that would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Michael, as you already noticed, every time I have seen this issue it has been because ODT was being installed into an Oracle home where no client exists, or perhaps installed into an old oracle home where the client was an old version (eg Oracle10), or the client was broken. Usually though, the user unchecked the instant client checkbox during the ODAC install.
So you say you checked instant client and you still got the error? That doesn't add up...
Are you using 32-bit windows? If you are using 64 bit windows be sure to tell us.
Why don't you try avoiding using instant client at all, in case it is somehow not getting installed properly.
You can do this as follows:
    1) Under the download links on OTN, go to the database download page.
    2) Download the Oracle Database client 11g for Microsoft Windows
    3) Run this installer and Install ODP.NET 1.x and 2.x into a new Oracle home from this client install, but nothing else. If ODP.NET is not listed there (it has been a long time since I looked at that) than just install a minimal Oracle client install.
    4) Close the installer
    5) Go back and install ODAC and this time choose "Oracle Server" radio button during the install (rather than the client install)
    6) Install ODT and ODP.NET at least and be sure they are being installed into the Oracle home created in the first steps above.
This will avoid use of Instant Client and will hopefully avoid the OCX error. Let me know if this solves your problem.

  • Why does Flash10e.ocx cause IE7 to crash?

An associate is having a problem when a website attempts to run Flash10e.ocx in Shockwave Flash Object.  Internet Explorer 7 is the browser being used on a computer running Windows XP Professional SP2.  I've updated to Flash Player 10.0.45.2 but the problem persisits.  I've disabled the add-on but would like to find a solution.  Can you help?

My problem is similar.  It began right after I allowed an Adobe update to run.  (Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.45.2 is recorded in my Registry.) Now every single website I try to open triggers a window (see below) and repeats many times.
It makes no difference whether I "Allow" or not.  I think it runs this window for every flash object on that website.  It is occurring while I enter this post!
It makes using the Internet MOST challenging.  Surely this is causing major problems for everyone.
I have IE8 on Windows Vista.
Here's the text from the message:
"A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer.
This program will open outside of Protected Mode. Internet Explorer's Protected Mode helps protect your computer. If you do not trust this website, do not open this program.
    Name:  Adobe Flash Player
    Publisher: Adobe Systems Incorporated
(Checkbox) Do not show me the warning for this program again.
    buttons:  Allow         Do Not Allow"
Should I appeal to Microsoft or Adobe for a solution?  Is is possible to install the previous version?
    Thanks for any wisdom.

  • Flash10e.ocx version 10.0.45.2 or 10.0.42.34?

First I had used the flash uninstal tool from adobe and successfully removed the older version of flash player
I thought I downloaded flash player 10 version 10.0.45.2, but when I go into my browser IE7 and look at the manage add ons,
I see Shockwave Flash Object as an Active X Control File Flash10e.ocx
But when I check the version tab in the manage add ons part of IE7 it says version 10.0.42.34
Now when I check elsewhere on my computer I see the following:
Under the Vista version of add/delete programs I only have
Adobe Flash player 10 Acyive X  version 10.0.45.2
    In C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash I only  have
    Flash10e.ocx and FlashUtil10e.exe
    In C:\Windows\DownloadProgramFile  I only have
    Shockwave Flash Object 10.0.45.2
When I go to www.adobe.com/software/flash/`about it says
"You have version 10.0.45.2" and the little animation thing shows successful
So why does the "version" in IE7 Manage add-ons show Active X Control Shockwave flash object as Flash10e.ocx but with version number 10.0.42.34?

The # the IE7 tab says does not rule. The Flash10e.ocx rules since this works with the FP files that are installed in the Flash folder.
I hope this clears up this, "the tab" says. LOL

  • Adobe Flash 10c.ocx error message?

Well, my sister and I are REALLY getting angry at whatEVER this flash thing is.  I run my business on the road -am gone a LOT.  Tonight when I got home, I had a very important eMail letter to send.  Three other windows were open -NOTHING PERTAINING TO ADOBE!!!  All of a sudden, it wiped ALL of them out, shut them down and left me with this little number above, "Adobe Flash 10c.ocx" error message, to which crap vista windows informed me, "Internet Explorer has encourntered a problem with an add-on and needs to close."  No warning ... just the whole letter and ALL the other pages, GONE!
If I want to do something with Adobe, I'll do it, otherwise I expect it to sit quietly in the background and keep quiet!  I have enough problems with this vista "system" -WORST ever invented.  Just what vista needed, something else so it can cause more headaches!
I found this forum, and I HOPE this will be fixed VERY shortly.  Thanks for letting me say.
Thank God I have almost total recall when such a thing happens, but I really do not appreciate it happening in the middle of a message so important!

    1. Download & use the flash Uninstaller from here: it
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?ext...
    2. Reboot to clear out any left over ocx files.
    3. Rescan using Secunia PSI - if there are any insecure Flash elements left what is the path to them? U should not proceed to stage 4 until all U clear any problems found.(The overview page may look a little odd because it uses Flash for the pictorials) you can download it from www.secunia.com it's a easy tool to use just follow the commands
    4. Reinstall the latest Internet Explorer Flash Player from here: ( make sure you copy the link below and open internet explorer and paste it into the address bar and press enter then download the file and it should install fine.)
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/
3A.If U are also using Firefox, Opera and other Gecko-based browsers U need this link as well: ( If you are using this browser just follow the same commands as above just copy the link below and paste it into the address bar and press enter then download the file and it shold install fine)
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_fire...
    5. Go to add/remove & double check Adobe have not installed the useless Adobe Download Manager - if U see an entry remove it.
Hope it helps for you i had the same problems took me days to work out what was wrong, let me know if it fix it. Melissa

  • OCX error during install of 8i personal ed on win 98 OS

I continue to get an OCX error during the installation of the personal edition that was downloaded from the site. I read some workarounds like the following:
    1. Obtain patch 1507768 from Oracle Support Services via Metalink.
See Patch readme for patch installation details. [I can't get the patch because I am using the free download version]
    2.
    a) Copy the content of the Installation to a temporary folder on the harddisk,
rename ALL copies of file 'symcjit.dll'
    b) Go to folder \install and edit file 'oraparam.ini' (attention: write
protection) and change parameter JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS to
    JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms16m -mx32m
    c) Start the installation again
[I made the suggested changes to the above files and that didn't work.  Any ideas of what I should do?]

I've made a little progress ... after downloading and unzipping the 8i files, right click on the setup program's icon, select properties, then select the compatibility tab, and choose Windows98/ME. Then, go to http://jcay.com/symcjit.zip and download this later version of symcjit.dll and replace the existing symcjit.dll. After these steps, the setup program started and I got about halfway through the installation when I got "Warning: JIT compiler "symcjit" not found. WIll use interpreter."
I have no idea what to try next??????
