Flash8b.ocx problems with IE

I've been looking at the various forums but no idea how to
fix my problem.
When playing a particular game on the internet it frequently
crashes and comes up with the error that it's a problem with
Flash8b.ocx add-on. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash8 but
with no joy.
Anyone help?

Just a quick update on the Problem Record (8543494).
Whatever is causing this must be pretty major or difficult to
track down.
Last Friday (29/04) I received a pretty standard looking
email from the support people asking if the problem had gone away -
it hasn't. They then asked me to follow through what looked like a
list of diagnostics :-
1. Try using another browser to test if it's a browser issue.
Flash and Shockwave player are also supported on Netscape and
Mozilla so these are good browsers for testing purposes. Test out
any rich content site on these browsers and see if you get the same
errors. If no, then it's an IE issue and you'll need to
repair/reinstall the program. If the same problems come up even on
other browsers, then it's a system issue.
2. For system issues, it can be any of the following:
a. Conflict with other software- there might be other
applications that use the same sound channel (for audio) and video
card resources.
b. Outdated or corrupt device drivers- Old sound and video
drivers may not support the Flash player, so it is recommended that
you update your device drivers. These are usually available from
your device manufacturer's websites.
c. Hardware acceleration is a setting for the video card
driver which allows it to interact with some of your system's
resources in rendering the screen display. By default, hardware
acceleration is set to 'Full'. Turning down this default setting
(one step at a time) often resolves display problems and audio
issues. The steps for changing this setting are:
i. Right-click in a blank area of the Desktop.
ii. The location of the hardware acceleration control may
differ for your video card driver.
In Windows XP and 2000, choose Properties > Settings tab
> Advanced button > Troubleshoot.
Turn your hardware acceleration down one level and then test
your browser with Flash movies.
I had already tried most of these actions without any joy. I
hadn't tried the hardware acceleration. So I tried it and found it
didn't help.
I've replied to support to tell them the results of the
diagnostics and that the problem remains.
I'm hoping for some inspired problem resolution from them
soon.
Simon.

I tried to run a MXML app in FB2 b3 but it kept complainting
    that Flash 9 is needed.
I installed Flash 9 and Flash 9 was installed when FB2 was
    installed too.
How can I have the builder reference to Flash 9 instead of 8?
BTW, there was no Flash Player 8 in my list of programs
    available for removal.
    thanks

This is the second time I have heard of problems like this.
    Do you have any
idea what the actual problem is? Is this a commonly discussed
    problem on the
message boards? (I only come over here to the forums once in
    a while, and the
Flash player's installer is certainly not my area at all, so
    perhaps other
Adobe people are on the problem already, but I just thought I
    would ask.)

  • ¡URGENT! Problems with OCX in "runtime mode"

Hello everyboy, I have a problem with OCX. When I am developing, I have no problem inserting the OCX, but when I run the application, the OCX disappears, not exists.
I am using the Forms Builder [32 bits] Versión 6.0.8.25.2 ...
Ah, in the previous version Forms [32 bits] Versión 6.0.5.35.3, it worked
    Do I need any patch?
    ¡Thank you very much!

It's hard without seeing your specific application, but what
    you need to do
    is the following -
    1. Add a recordset to the page
    2. Place fields from this recordset into the cells of a table
    as desired
    3. Wrap the row with these cells in a looper/repeat region,
    so that the
recordset is incremented from beginning to end as the records
    are being
placed in the table and the page is built step by step

  • IE shuts down with message problem with flash10e.ocx

I have a dell Dimension E310. I keep it in top shape. But recently my IE(7) either freezes up and eventually kicks back to desktop or sometimes it comes with a message that IE has encounted a problem with flash10e.ocx and must shut down. I have been on the phone for the last 3 days with Dell Tech Support and they are no help. Can someone on here please help me. This is driving me insane!!

    Hi,
It seems that you are having issue with Crystal reports Java SDK's.
Post your question in [Crystal Reports Java SDK forum|SAP Crystal Reports, version for Eclipse;.
That forum is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there. Also, all Java SDK queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
    Thank you for your understanding,

  • Problem with ie7 crashing with flash6.ocx and mootools?

I noticed that my site has a very poor conversion rate for users using ie7. It is about 1/2 the conversion rate of ie8 and ie9.
I setup a brand new fresh install of windows XP SP3, and installed ie7  to do some testing.
When I go to my site, 2-3 pages in ie crashes completely. I removed my  reference to mootools (1.2.5) and I don't have the crashing issue.
I then added mootools back and disabled the Flash6.ocx addon that  comes with ie7, and everything was fine.
My stats show a very small percentage of our users are using Flash 6, But the overall ie7 conversion rate is really low.
Any thoughts on what could be causing the problem with the Flash addon?
I was thinking it may have something do do with page unload, since it  never happens on the first page load.  If I refresh the page, it always crashes 1-2 loads later.

Moved topic from FAQ to Flash Player Usage forum.

Fisrt of all, thanks for your reply Sandra.
I wrote the following commads in cmd.exe
    --------> Compiling <--------
    $:> g++ -c examp_1.cpp -I "C:\Program Files\Oracle\Berkeley DB 4.5.20\include"
and all did corectly i get my examp_1.o object file.
    -------> Linking <--------
    $:> g++ -o exampl_1 examp_1.o -L "C:\Program Files\Oracle\Berkeley DB 4.5.20\lib" -I "C:\Program Files\Oracle\Berkeley DB 4.5.20\db-4.5.20"
but i still get the same error.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
As i understand without know enough about linking it's impossible for g++ (MINGW) to understand in linking step the .lib file which is Berkley DB's library for C/C++ API. The only that g++ tackles is .so or .a libraries and no .lib.
If you don't aggree with this I want to know your opinion.
As a result the only way to link correct an DB application with g++ is to Build the Berkley DB again with g++ something that is not so easy for me.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I Builded DB in Fedora 6 Linux Distribution. I did the make and the .libs directory inside the build_unix directory was created.
But I have similar problem to build my DB application.
I do the following 2 steps:
    1. Compiling
    g++ -c example_1.cpp
and I get the example.o object file. I don't understand why g++ didn't complain to include the .h files that demands Berkley DB.
    2. Linking
    g++ -o example example_1.o -L my_path/build_unix/.libs
And I get the known messages the same i get with MinGW's g++.
What does it happen in Linux environment? what arguments i don't give?
And one last question how s.o could find the default path that a linker automaticaly include its libraries? Is this standar for all GNU linux distibution.
I am writting this cause in Fedora there is in old DB distribution and i found it in /etc/libs (db-3XX.so) so I don't know what happens.
Thanks for your help and for your support I really appreciate it.

  • How i resolved my problems with FP 8.0.24

    Hi guys,
(first, sorry for my awful english, i'm french <g>
I'm lurking in this forum for few days now and i see there is
always problems with 8.0.24 for many of you. I'll describe
how i resolved my two problems with FP 8.0.24 on 2 computers
(XP Pro SP2 Full retail and XP Home SP2 OEM) :
First problem (appeared on 2 computers) :
    On limited account, no flash.
Solution : easy, just follow :
    http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=624850b5
Second problem (just on XP Pro, certainly because i tried to
    uninstall + re-install
the product while trying to resolve the first problem) :
Few days later, i noticed that some Flash don't work on
some website (i.e. : youtube : no video), but works on some
    others ???
(and also that install page on macromedia website was looping
    endless)
After hours, i noticed that during 8.0.24 re-install, some
    errors (mainly
"access denied") occurs (thanks to regmon utility) and i
    found the problem :
On the 4 keys (and sub-keys + values), some permissions was
    denied to
    "everyone" group :
    http://cjoint.com/?eqdmhPGYwN
    -red circles added-
(it's important to remember, in the following explication,
    that "DENY" have
    always priority on "ALLOW"...)
And what's the problem with "everyone" ?
    Oh, nothing really important <g>...
    "Everyone", is just... everyone !
    If you set :
    1) DENIED write to EVERYONE
    and
    2) ALLOW write to ADMINISTRATORS
then administrators write permission is... DENIED
Then, how do i corrected this ?
(works for first and second problem)
Simple, for each of the 4 keys in
    http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=624850b5
(don't use [advanced] authorization stuff) :
    1) i deleted "everyone" line (to clear rights)
    2) i added "everyone"
    3) i allowed "read" for "everyone" (don't touch to deny, nor
    allow write)
    the result (in french) :
    http://cjoint.com/?etsyFBJyxd
And now i registered flash8b.ocx (or flash8a.ocx) like this :
    regsvr32 %windir%\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash8b.ocx
reminder : if you reinstall FP, check this rights again.
    Cheers
    ~Jean-Marc~

Spoke too soon. It didn't work, it just works for longer
    periods before it crashes.
I was able to insert images into a number of pages after
recreating the cache but got to some library files that it crashes
on every time still. But other library files and other site
profiles work fine when inserting images.
Also, the other solution suggested above to disable visual
themes did nothing to resolve my crashes.
Also, I heard from someone else in another thread they
thought it was due to using the cache in the first place. Although
I use the cache on all my site profiles.
After turn off the cache and restarting DW, it still crashes
while inserting graphics. The crash isn't exactly at the same time
every time. Sometimes its immediatly upon clicking the okay button
on the image browse dialog box, sometimes it inserts the image into
the page then terminates, sometimes it terminates a few seconds
after the image is inserted. But it's always related to using the
    insert image dialog.
It's back to using XP now.

  • Problem with flash in InternetExplorer 7

Hi, previously I had a lot of crashes in IE 7 and it was
caused by Flash10a.ocx. So couple of days ago I uninstalled and
reinstalled the newest version of Flash player. Today the same
problem occured with the following error message:
Program error in iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6001.18000, time
0x47918f11, modul with error Flash10b.ocx, version 10.0.22.87, time
    0x4987a6c3, exception code 0xc0000005, offset error 0x00041a7a,
    prosess-ID 0x1730, start time for program 0x01c99e2d5f0be50e.
So as you see the problem still persist in this version as
well, any suggestion how to solve this?

there is some problem with i tunes 7(the7.0.1 patch also) in that any artwork found by i tunes is visible whilst viewing tracks in your library if you transfer said tracks to your ipod then the artwork is not transferred, also it you use album artwork as your screensaver then artwork found by i tunes is not used. i can only think that something is not beeing written to the id tags of the tracks. any artwork found by yourself and dragged into the relevant box on the track or album information screen(called up by apple+i)is seen on itunes and by the screensaver. i have spoken to apple support and they assured me that they would get back to me as they had to investigate.that was a month ago. if the problem really bugs you then you can drag artwork found by itunes onto your desktop and then back into the tracks id screen. this remedys the problem but is tedious to say the least. hope this helps

  • I have some real odd problems with flash

Right, I have sort of had two problems with adobe flash player 10, so bare with me, I need to tell you the ‘back story’ before I reach my current issue:
Back story; latest version of flash been running normally for a while until it tries to update. When it wants to update it goes to 100% completion then comes up with a message saying ‘Unable to complete because Adobe Flash Native Control Panel is open. Please close the Adobe Flash Native Control Panel and please try again‘
After this, my pc and adobe website (and other websites) will report that I have no flash. At all. So I try to update/install/uninstall again (after rebooting computer each time obviously) - and no luck. I either got a message like the one above or this one: ‘The Flash Player Settings Manager is currently open. Please close the Flash Player Settings Manager and try again’.
So I find that I have no flash, yet I have flash and I can’t upgrade, install or uninstall. I have found a solution to this in other forums by going into my System32 folder on my C drive and using the freeware program ‘Unlocker’ to delete the file ‘C:\WINDOWS\system32\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl ‘upon restarting. After that I can uninstall flash properly and reinstall to the latest version.
I’ve had to do this twice now, after each attempted ‘update ‘and each time I have to completely uninstall flash in the way stated above and then reinstall it properly.
So that is the first issue- now to my current problem:
After doing the following I tried to install the latest flash from adobe’s website...but my computer seems to ‘eat’ the executable file and then not actually install the latest flash. It downloads and opens fine but as soon as it starts to install, the actual executable file vanishes. It doesn’t go anywhere, not the recycle bin; it just...vanishes. Then nothing happens. According to Task manager, there is an ‘Install_flashplayer’ in the background using 8000 k or so memory and seeming doing something, but it’s not on screen and it does...nothing. I’ve waited almost a good hour and nothing happens despite memory usage dipping a bit.
So first problem of mine is this Adobe ‘Flash Native Control Panel ‘and ‘Flash Player Settings Manager’ seems to be causing problems with my flash every time it needs to update (and subsequently makes adobe flash player thins it Schrödinger’s cat being in a state of installed and uninstalled).  I want to know how to stop thins form happening each time I need to update. I can't seem to find any information on how to actually 'close' these programs.
My second is getting my PC to actually install the latest version of flash as opposed to eat it and make it a ghost program like my PC is pacman and the excitable file is a blue ghost.
I currently have Flash player 10,3,183,5 installed and it is working fine (until the investable update issue is bound to come along).
    My system is Vista 32-bit.
My main web browser is firefox 3.6.18
Ask me if you need more specs, and sorry for the bad analogies.

Here you go, hopefully this is the right thing and will help:

  • Problem with App-V 5 in Xenapp 6.5 Feature Pack 2 /PVS Server 7.1 Environment

Hi I hope someone can help me. We are pretty desperate right now.
At e customer of mine we are Using App-V 5 SP2 RDS Client together with a Xenapp 6.5 Feature Pack 2 /PVS Server 7.1 Environment.
The Golden Image for PVS gets built with SCCM 2007. We “Install” the App-V Packages local with Powershell with e Install Wrapper.
The Wrapper uses for Example the following command to “install” the Package during the Task Sequence.
    Add-AppVClientPackage -Path "C:\_SMSTaskSequence\Packages\I010012B\x86-GE\001\Biella-Dominalprint(V)-2.0.appv" -DynamicDeploymentConfiguration "C:\_SMSTaskSequence\Packages\I010012B\x86-GE\001\Biella-Dominalprint(V)-2.0_DeploymentConfig.xml"
    | Publish-AppvClientPackage -Global | Mount-AppvClientPackage -Verbose >C:\Windows\Logs\Install\Biella-Dominalprint(V)-2.0_001.LOG
The Package was Sequenced with SP1 Sequencer.
The Package contains e SystemX86 folder
    C:\ProgramData\App-V\5D8F5879-923B-4401-BE13-F6E120F6569C\83FF2A00-5D2A-4A3B-82FD-3238D786BEE3\Root\VFS\SystemX86
In This Folder are a few Files. One of them is the tdbg5.ocx
The Package works without a Problem after the Installation of the Server has finished.
But when the Citrix Department does there Magic with PVS and they provision the VHD to another Server the Package is no longer Working. When we start the App we get an Error that it is Missing the tdbg5.ocx
But when I Use ACDC 2.0 to start the App or modify the Shortcut with the command /appvve: 5D8F5879-923B-4401-BE13-F6E120F6569C_83FF2A00-5D2A-4A3B-82FD-3238D786BEE3 it is working. Also when I remove the Package with Powershell from the provisioned Server
and reinstall it again it is working Again.
We have this Problem with two other Apps and both of them have files in the Root\VFS\SystemX86 Folder.
We also have e Virtualized Java Package. We have a Shortcut like this:
    C:\ProgramData\App-V\1A971C0F-1C0F-430F-A2E2-2DF8487E6FF0\80A50994-7B30-4FC3-9DA4-1CE8B979B337\Root\VFS\ProgramFilesX86\Java\jre1.6.0.38\bin\javaws.exe
    http://whatever.ch/zpv/webstart/zpv-prod.jnlp
If I start that link on the provisioned Sever Java Launches but it’s not downloading the App to the Cache. But also here it works perfect after the installation with SCCM, and it also works when I remove the package on the provisioned Sever and “install”
it again with Powershell. But here the /appvve workaround doesn’t work.
I know that we should ask that in the Citrix forums, the Citrix department of the Customer is opening a Case with Citrix and one with MS Support.  But we are I a big hurry because the customer needs to start testing the Apps, because they need to start
the pilot Test very soon. So I hoped that someone in the community can help me out with this.
    Thank you for your answers
    Pascal

Another alternative, if  you dont want to use the Shared Content Store, is to have your PackageInstallationRoot pointing to a non-provisioned disk (non-PVS).  In our environment we had the same exact issue.  Each of our Citrix servers have
a D drive thats non-provisioned that we use for Logs.  Once I pointed the PackageInstallationRoot over to this location everything started working.   The key here is to have a script run at server startup that deletes the PackageInstallationRoot
since the provisioned non-persistent disk will reboot to a fresh image each time.   This way you wont end up with stale content out there as applications are updated and/or removed.
There are other things that also have to happen for this to work in these types of environments (related to roaming profile exclusions) that I can provide to you if you need them.
Let me know if you want/need more details.

  • Problems with flash in vista - Not IE RELATED

Just got a new laptop yesterday with:
    vista home premium 32 bit
    amd 64x2
    1g ram
I like to play poker (just play money) on carbon poker and
    poker.com
I installed the programs and went to play on them. The
program loads fine, functions fine in the menus and game lists.
But when I join a game (i.e. there are moving symbols-cards,
chips, chat bubbles) the game window freezes within 5-10 secs,
basically as soon as something on the table moves.
At this point none of the buttons in the table window work.
However, I can go into the lobby (no moving symbols) and exit the
    program.
After exiting the program I get an error stating:
"this program requires a missing windows component" blah blah
    the details state:
"this program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included
    with this version of windows"
The solution tells me to install the latest version of flash,
    which I did.
    Same problem.
I have tried uninstalling flash and installing full version
(separate file, not browser based install) - no luck
I have tried installing flash 7 and 8 - no luck
I have tried copying flash9.ocx and renaming it flash.ocx -
    no luck
I have tried setting program to run compatible with win xp
    sp2 - no luck
I have searched every forum, google search string, adobe, and
    ms sites - no luck
I have tried installing a version of carbon poker from vista
    downloads - no luck
As far as I can tell, this program needs flash to function
properly in the games. I don't know if there is a problem with
where vista puts flash and the program is looking elsewhere for it
    or what.
Can someone please help me figure out how to get these
programs to run? They are not browser based, they are separate
    programs run from an exe.
    Thanks in advance.

Tech support told me the problem could be caused by flash
unexpectedly terminating. Is there any way to prevent this from
happening? The laptop is a Compaq and came with shloads of garbage
software on it that could be causing the complications. Any
suggestions on where to start? Thanks in advance.

  • ActiveX problems with 3.0.F.2 (fwd)

This is the message I sent to tech support. Has anyone else seen this
type of thing? Any suggestions (even half-baked) would be appreciated.

    Subject: ActiveX problems
    Product: Forte
    Version of Forte: 3.0.F.2
    Server OS: HPUX
    Client OS: NT/Win 95
    DBMS: Oracle
    Reproducible(?): Yes
    Brief description of issue:
I have experienced problems using ActiveX controls. I have tried several
    controls, including:
    o Microsoft Forms 2.0 SpinButton
    o Microsoft Forms 2.0 CheckBox
    o Microsoft Forms 2.0 EditBox
    o AddSoft Gantt/OCX
    o Sheridan MonthView
    o Sheridan DayView
    o Sheridan DateCombo
    o Microsoft Calendar Control
(specifically mentioned in a Forte technote)
I have experienced problems with all of these controls. With the Sheridan
DateCombo, the Forte environment crashes when I attempt to drop the
control into a form using the "Insert Control..." button. Before the
environment crashes, I get a series of informational and error dialog
    boxes as follows:
    o error: unexpected exception -10737415717
o error: The Error Manager stack is empty (repeated 3 times)
o information: the workspace is now read-only because the
    repository is disabled.
o error: Exception escaped from terminating task CW.Display
o ERROR: TMgr.Terminate: fatal error terminated partition
With all the other controls I tried, the ActiveX support appears to work
properly until I attempt to bind an instance of the olegen-generated
class to the control itself in the window's Init() method:
    --- MyWindowClass.Init() ----
    super.Init();
    myActiveXControl = new();
After this has been done, the Forte environment may "hang" when I interact
with the control at run-time. For example, each time a generate a mouse
event inside the control, I risk hanging the Forte environment. I might
be able to interact with the control 50 times before the environment
hangs, or it might hang after a single mouse click. Until the crash/hang
occurs, the ActiveX support appears to work properly: I am able to trap
mouse events, and interact with the control using the provided interface.
Any help or advice you can offer would be appreciated. I would be happy
to provide any additional information you may require.

I don’t recall any problems importing to “selected item’ which I always use so I define where it goes and what it’s called.
Do you have Aperture’s Activity Window open so you can see where it is hanging up? Is it just busy generating Previews etc.? I know it sounds more serious than just ‘busy’ but would be interesting to know what it’s doing then.
After these problems, assuming that previews and thumbnails are generated correctly, it may be a good precaution to restart Aperture while holding down the OPTION and COMMAND keys so you can Repair Permissions or Repair the database. Even rebuilding the database is fairly quick if those first two options are ineffective.

  • Problems with flah player i found a clue to solve

Well, for everybody that is not being able to install flash
player(including me) on internet explorer here is my history :
I'm having problems to install flash player on internet
explorer since adobe bought the company, i read a lot of posts from
all kinds of forums without a clue on how to solve the problem, the
adobe support for flash player is a joke, i tried everything on the
support page and none of the solutions solved the problem, than i
downloaded the full installer of flash player version 7 to try to
install it cause i thought that the problem was the version, but
before i tried to install version 7 i tryed to install the version
9 on firefox; the result it worked(thanks god), i use firefox and
ie on the same computer on the same user. I was intriged why flash
installed on firefox and not on ie. Well than i tryed to install
version 7 on ie but on the installation screen the installer only
recognized the firefox browser, than i clicked on the button other
browser to manually search ie, and for my suprise the installer
wanst able to reach the file iexplore.exe, intriged by that i
opened windows explorer to check if the file was there and it
was!!! So i figured out that i wanst able to install flash player
on ie cause it doenst recognized/found the iexplore.exe file. Thats
a clue to solve the problem with ie if somebody have any idea on
how to make flash find iexplorte.exe please post in the forum. At
least if i wanna see any flash content i can use firefox to do it.
And PLEASE ADOBE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, MANIFEST YOURSELF.

    ***A GOOD FIX***
I was fighting with this problem for months and finally found
a good fix. This is what I did:
    1. Use the uninstaller at Adobe's Web site following the
    instructions given here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157
    2. Empty temporary files and internet cache and restart.
    3. Download the latest FlashPlayer version 9 from Adobe's web
    site here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
At this point check and be sure that you have a file named
"Flash.ocx" in both your Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 and
Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash folders, as well as the
"Flash9.ocx" in the Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash folder. If you
do, you have a good install.
    4. Download Flash8.ocx from www.rrdownloads.net/Flash.zip
(I'm sure this file must be buried on Adobe's site somewhere, but I
couldn't find; nonetheless, this is a safe link)
    5. Unzip the active x file into your
    Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash folder
    6. In the same Windows folder, rename "Flash9.ocx" to
    Flash-9.ocx (or anything else)
    7. Then rename the Flash8.ocx (from the downloaded zip file)
    to Flash9.ocx
Restart et voila ... no more crash errors.
Also be sure you have Sun's Java J2SE Runtime Environment 5,
Update 7 installed and any Pop Up or Ad Blockers turned off ...
sometimes these will interfere in viewing flash content.
Caution: This fix has worked for me on a WinXP Pro and WinXP
Home O/S, running IE6. I cannot vouch for any others. I hope it
    works for you!

  • Image Gallery, problems with Flash player 9 and Opera 9

Hi, I'm developing a slideshow in flash (and php, JavaScript,
    XML).
I'm coding in classes and AS2.
I use the ExternalInterface class to communicate between
    swf's and html.
The problem is that the Slideshow won't work properly in the
    Opera browser,
it seems like it's working fine, but after a few click it
    stop responding.
No problems in IE and FF.
I've search and search to find a solution to this problem
    with no luck.
I've put up an example of the slideshow here:
    http://www.coldminer.com/up/sw.php?thumbs=1
The strange thing is that when I use really simplified
    versions of the code
I'm using (with no externalInterface etc) it is working fine:
    http://www.coldminer.com/ftest/
Anyone who have experienced similar problems, and can guide
    me to a solution.
    Opera version: 9.02 (8585)
    Flash player version: 9,0,16,0
    Thank you!
    ** Edit ->
I found a solution, I replaced th ExternalInterface with the
    "Flash JavaScript Integration Kit",
and all my problems with Opera was solved.

Lo stesso problema ce l'ho io. Sembra che flash player 9 non
riesca a leggere le versioni flash 5. Nell'installare un corso
contenente flash 5 ho questo errore:
Prodotto: Corso Multimediale per Photoshop 7 -- Errore 1904.
    Impossibile registrare il modulo C:\WINDOWS\system32\swflash.ocx.

  • Flash10a.ocx problem, causes IE to Close. HELP!

I have been getting this message frequently:
Internet Explorer has experienced a problem with an add-on
    and needs to close.
The following add-on was running when this problem occurred:
    Add-on Name: Flash10a.ocx
    Company Name: Adobe Systems Incorporated
    Description: Adobe Flash Player
The message pops up, and it then closes and restarts Internet
    Explorer.
What is causing this, and how can I fix it?
    Thanks so much!

Let's see now..."Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
with an add-on and needs to close..." for "Flash10a.ocx". This
    occurs on Windows 2000, Windows XP SP1, SP2, SP3, can't confirm
Vista, but others do here as well and on IE6, IE7 and IE8 and not
on Firefox and ver9 caused no such issues.
Ver10 included very important security updates...apparently
designed to crash your system(s) and cause your company money in
wasted IT time. No comment or fix at all in over 3-months now.
I plan to talk to IT at my company and see about reverting
all systems to 9.x and/or blocking all flash related content at the
hardware firewall level as we do Bittorrent and other crap. Let's
see how they react when their partners are informed that over
20,000 people can no longer see their advertisements and if we can
get it to cascade to other companies and if they fix it before
their customers lynch them for eliminating or pissing off their
    customers customers or target audience.
Never thought I'd see the day when Adobe is so lazy and
sloppy and insensitive that they make M$ look like a saint.
Unrelated I am also sick of their stupid Adobe Reader eating up
tons memory and crashing itself or the system...on a 4GB
workstation (3GB available). Do you guys have any programmers left
that know anything or did you outsource them are are partying on an
    island with AIG execs?
Fix it or prepare to feel it in your bottom line...I've had
it with you lazy software companies that for upgrades that cause
    more issues than they resolve!

UPDATE: Apparently Flash10b aka Flash Player 10.0.22.87 was
released on Feb24, 2009 to pretty quiet fanfare...if you look
closely you will find it VERY hard to see any mention of actual
FIXES besides critical security enhancement...until you dig deeper
and find the actual change log which lists
The following issues have been fixed in Flash Player
    10.0.22.87:
    • Flash Player 10 crashes in IE7 due to the use of a
dynamic TextField as a mask on another display object when the
field set to anti-alias for readability. (FP-1238/2256938)
    • A sound stream error #2032 will cause the playback of
a separate stream to stop playback. (FP-910/2251944)
    • Japanese text mojibake (garbled) at Input Text in
    Flash 5 swf. (2223727)
    • Ming created file does not play in Flash Player 10 in
    any browser. (FP-769/2217038)
    • FileReference.save() can save invalid Windows
filename like "sticky." so users are never able to delete.
    (2202963)
    • Setting bitmap width/height before super() crashes
    player. (FP-760/2216975)
    • Audio is scratchy with static/streamed with sample
    rate greater than 44kHz. (FP-862/2216961)
    • Seeking H264 video on the first few frames causes IE
    to crash. (FP-913/2216957)
    • Fullscreen in Flash Player 10 hangs with Flex 3
    horizontal slider. (FP-812/2216948)
    • Matrix3D AS3 class implementation is difficult to use
    for general math. (2216936)
    • The Origin header should be put on the banned headers
    list. (2202975)
    • Using drawingAPI2 in certain conditions when the
Shape is not yet on the displayList can crash. (FP-761/2202966)
    • Adding 2 vectors with float4 input and output
    produces incorrect result. (2202964)
    • Attempting to install to a non-C:\ drive results in
'lack of disk space' error. (2202957)
    • Fix AS APIs' inconsistent handling of NaN parameters
    on different platforms. (FP-612,FP-903, FP-964/2200454)
    • SampleDataEvent playback in IE7 window crashes
browser when new Flash window displayed. (FP-985/1935068)
    • When receiving multiple speex audio streams, audio
    may be garbled. (1934243)
    • When the end of a video is reached at certain
websites, IE crashes instead of showing the next frame.
    (FP-1123/1932362)
    • UIA mistakenly over-enforced in previous release.
    (2262898)
    • Japanese characters are mojibake when they are
entered into an input text filed on the Mac Player. (FP-40/2269305)
Yes I'm sure 6 IE related Crash fixes are all "security"
related;) Geez...you guys must also think we are only in a minor
economic downturn too. The supidiest thing is that if you go here
    for support:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/
It IRONICALLY claims that, "SUPPORT ALERT Do you have
problems installing or running Adobe® Flash® Player for
Internet Explorer? Most of these problems can be attributed to
Windows Registry permission issues. See our technical documents on
Flash Player and Windows Registry permission errors."
    REALLY...REALLY?!?
Is that why sys admin and hackers (original
definition...computer whiz types) gave detailed issues on
IE6/IE7/IE8 conflicts everywhere including here many times and then
suddenly you sneak in 6-IE related fixes and add such a silly claim
to your support page. Look at the forum message here for some
reality check and PLEASE stop having MARKETING or THE LAWYERS write
all you documentation. Most of us just want stuff fixed and to know
when stuff has bee addressed or fixed....OK!
