FlashDVD.swf to FLA for better interface (full screen...)

Does anyone know how to edit the FLA for FlashDVD.swf so i can add features like full screen and stuff? Posably decompiling?

They don't bother me, but I know how those little things can be sometimes... and respect your opinion that they bother you.  I don't think anyone would be adversely affected if they were toned down a touch or two (i.e. made darker, but still visible).
To take it a step further, I actually may see an opportunity for the developers to add some value to these markers (regardless of whether or not they make them less obtrusive or not):  position them according to the center-lines of the image being viewed (rather than the center-lines of the monitor, as they are currently).  In their current implementation, they provide useful information (i.e. a quick and easy way to see the center of each axis) only if no panels are visible, or if both the left- and the right-panels are visible and also identical in size.  If one side panel is taken away (as in the screen-shot you posted above), the top and bottom arrows no longer provide useful information, as the center of the image is now shifted towards the side without a visible panel.
It's a small detail, but perhaps and easy one to refine...

  • Time for a True "Full Screen" Mode

    Instead of using Shift-Tab and "L" and "F" to achieve something resembling a reall Full Screen display and editing mode, it is time to implement the ability to simply hit a single keyboard stroke and go to a display mode that truly displays images bounded by the edges of the screen with no surround.  And then have the ability to invoke editing with a single key stroke.  The amount of fiddling we have to go through currently is just nonsense.

    I strongly support this request, and it really should have been a feature in the beta (tried to look for similar requests in the mentioned forum, but the search function there is useless - "lightroom fullscreen preview" returns 2221 hits and none of the top hits are relevant).  Anyway: All the cool and brilliant features of LR 4 aside, photo management is above all about viewing and it baffles me that state of the art software like LR doesn't provide simple and real full screen viewing. Why on earth isn't the Bridge solution (or an improved version of it) implemented in LR: ONE keystroke to get a fullscreen fit image preview, ONE click to zoom to 1:1, simple trackpad gestures to move around, ONE key to get back again, ONE key to get to develop mode.
    The unneccessary convoluted juggling of keys we have now is one thing, quite another is that "fullscreen" still only uses 80% of the available real estate. This is a show stopper to me - even more so when I'm working on a laptop.

  • Exporting 16:9 for use in full screen 16:9 iDVD

    Using a Panasonic DVX-100B video cam, I shot footage in the “squeeze” mode at 24p. I captured it in FCP 5.1.4 and edited it. I used the same settings for capturing that I had used before when using an older video cam with no 24p and only 4:3. Picture appeared in both "viewer" and "canvas" with bars on top and bottom and in the correct aspect ratio.
    I exported to Quicktime. When I transferred the QT video to iDVD, the widescreen template still had bars at the top and bottom and appeared stretched. Looking at it in the 4:3 template produced a picture that was correct in aspect ratio but had bars at top and sides.
    My goal is to capture, edit and produce a DVD with full screen 16:9 appearance from a "squeezed" video source.
    I’ve tried many variations but can’t seem to make it happen. I also checked that the scale in Quicktime was 853 x 480 and that "keep aspect ratio" was unchecked.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    There is a lot of conflicting information in your post.
    I believe you shot LETTERBOX and not squeeze on the dvx.
    One bug/feature of the DVX B model is that it will display SQUEEZE footage the same way as it does the LETTERBOX -- with bars top and bottom... giving you no quick way to make sure on the camera's display screen.
    By you saying that both the viewer AND the canvas show black bars top and bottom leads me to believe that indeed you didn't shoot squeeze. If it was just the canvas, ok - you had settings wrong. But the VIEWER shows you exactly what the video is straight from the source. Black bars there? Black bars on the file.
    SO - what do you do?
    Coupla options.
    1) re shoot everything (hee)
    2) Leave it alone and stay 4:3 with black bars.
    3) Create a new sequence that is DV/NTSC and click the ANAMORPHIC button. Drag the old finished sequence onto that and you should see video in a 'black box' -- bars left and right and bars top and bottom. Then click on the sequence inside the sequence and hit your ENTER (num keypad, not RETURN) this will send it to the VIEWER. CLick the MOTION tab and resize to 133.33. Yes, you'll loose quality... but hey, it's dv - not the greatest quality anyway.
    Then - export that file (will be 're-squeezed') as self-contained current settings QT Movie and drag it onto this:
    http://homepage.mac.com/sith33/FileSharing34.html
    Will create a file iDVD will recognize as 16:9. Add to iDVD build and burn.
    Done.
    Good luck,

  • Does Safari for PC have full screen view option?

    I am new to Mac (better late than never and am trying Safari on my old PC. Have not yet found a full screen view function in Safari. Explorer toggles from regular screen to full using F11 (and the top slides into view with the pointer, like the Dock on a Mac). Cheers,
    Tom, Berkeley, CA

    Hi! The little icons in the upper right hand corner (minus-square-x) are the screen resizer buttons. Click on the square and it goes to full screen, click on it again and it's back to its smaller size, the minus puts it to the bottom of the screen and the x quits the app. All is just like windows users are used to. Position the window to the upper left and then drag the little triangle in the lower right corner allows you to set the screen size to how you want it to be each time you start the app. Tom

  • Loadmovie for flash mobile full screen?

    I tried using flash mobile full screen with flash lite 2.1.
    How do I load a movie?
    I tried to embed a FLV, but when I tried to publish it I got
    an error.
    It said :
    WARNING: This movie uses features that are not supported in
    the Flash Lite 2.1 player
    Scene=Scene 1, layer=Content, frame=1:VP6 Codec requires
    Flash Player 8 or higher
    I tried it by creating the video as an swf, then using
    loadmove to play it but that did not work in
    the windows browser, using flashplayer 9. Would it work on a
    mobile phone, or
    is there something else I have to do.

    Hi Travistee,
    You can load a movie with a embed video using
    movie_mc.loadMovie("file.swf").
    Did you try to encoding the video with Sorenson Spark video
    codec? The error was the video encode feature.
    Try this sequence:
    1. File > import video
    2. Press Next
    3. Select the video
    4. Press Next
    5. Chose embed video in SWF and play in timeline
    6. Press Next
    7. Press Next again
    8. On encoding step click in 'Show Advanced Settings', select
    the video codec Sorenson Spark.
    9. Press next and finish.
    You can find video playback issues on the QTek 8310, 9000,
    9100 and i-Mate MP5 devices.

  • Any solution for flash 10 full screen crashes?

    I have a Win7 64-bit system with ATI 5770 board, latest ATI drivers.  Since installing Flash 10, any full screen display of Flash content leads to blue screen, while in window content runs fine.  I've turned off Flash hardware acceleration and it makes no difference.
    I've downgraded to Flash 9 and full screen content runs correctly, i.e., w/o blue screening, but, of course, this means that some Flash 10 content isn't available.
    All other full screen content--Real, DVD, Windows Media runs fine.
    Any solutions?

    The current version out works fine with Lion.

  • Interface Full screen border

    This is a little that irritates me on Lightroom. it's the Grey Border that goes around the whole screen on fullscreen mode and the little arrows that are in your faceon the edges when you have tabs hidden. For Most of the Phototogs we've been using this for a while and we know that the tabs are there and can access them by mouse over. Do we need to have the arrows make up that space or we could just get rid of the along with the border around the whole thing. I want to focus on the photo i'm editing and not anything else.

    They don't bother me, but I know how those little things can be sometimes... and respect your opinion that they bother you.  I don't think anyone would be adversely affected if they were toned down a touch or two (i.e. made darker, but still visible).

  • A smarter full screen interactive

    It would be great if the full screen interactive mode was smarter. It gets very tedious when within a single app/game the user is constantly switching back and forth full screen mode,
    There must be a way to make it smarter and less tedious without compromising security.. I am throwing out some suggestions:
    1. Provide an option to 'Always allow Interactive mode for this site' (or domain).
    OR
    2. Provide a checkbox option to 'Always allow Interactive mode for this session'.
    OR.
    3. Within a single session automatically allow the interactive mode for the current swf if the user already accepted once.
    To see what I mean try it here at Lee's website:
    http://leebrimelow.com/flash/fullkeys/
    Go to full screen mode. Accept. Esc to leave full screen mode. Try going to Full screen mode again. Why is does it need to ask again for my permission? It already asked me once.
    I added a feature request a couple of months ago and it was withdrawn.
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3366434
    I am starting this dicussion again, because I am certain that the runtime folks can improve on this..
    ..and a last point. For reference, Chrome solves this in a pretty elegant way. It provides a pull down menu with 2 options. 'Ask by default', 'Always allow on this site'

    While we get that the full-screen notification is annoying in the context of some games, it's there for your protection (and as a response to actual real-world security incidents that happened over the years in various products, including Flash).  You'll see similar behavior in other browser plug-ins and HTML full-screen content.
    Imagine this grossly over-simplified scenario:
    - You go to a game site supported by ads from a third-party ad network
    - A malicious actor creates and injects a malicious ad into the ad network, and it shows up on your game site (again, real-world example)
    - You're playing your game, and your phone rings.  It's your cellphone provider and you forgot to pay the bill.  They want to take a payment over the phone before they turn it off.
    - You tab out of the game and fire up your bank's website to check your balance.
    - The malicious ad noticies that you've gone to yourbank.com, and quickly fires up a full-screen window that looks exactly like your browser, displaying the homepage of your bank's website. (That the ad "notices" this action without some other bug in play is a stretch, but useful for illustrating the point.)
    - Everything looks normal.  The SSL lock icon is there, and the address and website look sane.  You type in your credentials.
    - Instead of going to your account info, you get a "we're sorry, but we're down for maintenance" message.
    - Some kid in the Ukraine gets a new dashcam and a jet-ski.
    In reality, there are layers of mitigations along the way that would make this really difficult -- but the motiviation for displaying the full-screen window in Flash is because there's no way to know 100% for sure that the full-screen content is going to be legit.  It's a security-in-depth measure.
    So that dialog exists basically to say "Hey, if this looks like your web browser, something is very wrong.  Hit Escape to get back to reality.".
    The best way to get around this would be to encourage the game publisher to also offer the game as an Adobe AIR application.  It's basically a desktop version of the Flash game.  This removes all of those concerns about what crazy stuff third-party sites can do, because you're operating in the context of a desktop application (where the content you encounter can generally be trusted) vs. the open web (where you should trust very little).

  • Make Flash player window full screen automatically, when it's opening

    Hi, all.
    It's today I joined Adobe forums so, I don't know much about community guidlines and functionality here. So, pardon me if I do any mistake or something.
    This is my problem...
    I'm creating an interface with Adobe Flash Catalyst and I want it to be written to a CD and distributed to clients.
    When I publish swf, I cannot find an option to make flash player full screen.
    I want my SWF file to be opened in full screen mode when the user opens it.
    To the best of my knowledge, I think, I cannot do it with Catalyst as it doesn't have coding facilities.
    I hope Flash Builder is helpful with kind of times. But I know nothing about FB. Do you know how to do it with Flash Builder ?
    ( I mean, open my Catalyst project in Builder, then make the edits or something to make Flash player full Screen when opening )
    Thanks a lot,
    Tharindu.

  • Full screen playback in PE9 garbled - anyone else see this?

    I mentioned this in a general post but I'll make it a specific question now -
    When I click on the "full screen" button near the top right of the interface, full screen playback has a corrupted area which corresponds with where the timescale is on the normal interface.  Sometimes the playback cursor "breaks through" as a black vertical line too.
    Does anyone else see this?
    I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed.  Windows XP Pro SP3 Q9300 quad core PC 2GB memory.
    Thanks for any observations.

    It's very obvious if you do have the problem - a wide strip of the video (horizontal, matching the timescale hidden beneath the full screen display) gets shifted sideways somewhat (flickering on and off), so that any vertical object in the footage gets displaced sideways at that point in an obvious juddering fashion.  I tried to do a screen grab but simply doing that makes the problem change - it is more evident when the footage is running than when frozen.
    Anyway, adjusting the Windows Display Properties "hardware acceleration" slider, moving it to the left till it is set to the point where the message beneath reads "Disable all DirectDraw and Direct3D acceleraions.  Use this setting to correct severe problems with DirectX accelerated applications" seems to fix the problem.
    Graphics card is a GeForce 8600 GT, in case that's relevant.
    At least I know how to work around the problem.  Let's see if others come across the same problem in due course.  Maybe it's just a local issue.

    file - publish setting - html - dimensions:
    set it to 100% x 100%
    Now all you need is edit the html and set it's margins to
    zero so
    there is no while border around the full screen movie.
    html example:
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
    charset=utf-8" />
    <title>some title here</title>
    <style type="text/css">

    margin-top: 0px;
    margin-right: 0px;
