Flashing BIOS (not using liveupdate)

hi, i wanna flash my BIOS, but my question is after downloading the BIOS update zip and burning that to a cd..
can i use a cd to flash a BIOS?
or can i used a USB thumbdrive to flash BIOS?
i dont have a floppy drive anymore...
i have read that my board K8NGM-V supports booting up in the USB.. is that the same for flashing a BIOS?

if your system is stabile then you no need to flashed it as it may causes instability of your system.. I would preferable used the cd or floppy to flash it. BTW create your own rig in details including PSU and bios revision so others can help you. Gd luck.
P/s: why must you flashed your bios? is it stabile?

  • Flash BIOS not working

Hi all, Ive been having issues for the past few days with my GT70 and a Clevo 770m, which I cannot get to install the drivers without crashing.
Ive been recommended to flash bios to x51. Im using the tool provided in the forums, with these files
    https://mega.co.nz/#!20IQHLCC!uae78FT4EEG2Fl4TzI3m4txIKnlF7iR3ceh4PtC yqqE
The USB boots just fine, but it stays stuck at BIOS flash is in progress... and never goes anywhere. The file has three folders , ACHI - EC - RAID.
None of them have a rom file...
I assume Im not supposed to use the raid folder to build the USB, but the other two I should. What am I doing wrong?
Does anyone have the ROM file for 51x?
    Thanks!

    UPDATE:
I was able to flash BIOS to 51x and EC to T24.
    vBIOS is 80.06.54.00.11
NVidia drivers still crash after installing them. Any ideas?

  • FYI: Flash BIOS without using a floppy! Use a bootable CD-ROM!

My K8N Neo2 Platinum is still dead as a doornail but at least I found this.
    http://www.nu2.nu/bootcd/
I was able to make a bootable CD-ROM containing the latest BIOS and flash it without using those pesky floppy drives/disks. Whole process took like 5 mins. I don't know who Bart is but hats off to him in a huge way!
    Hope this helps someone!

No, im serious. I have 4 computers here and a ton of floppys, my camera uses floppies so im using them alot "when they work" but these damn things are terrible.
I can have one disk work on all 4 pc's, bring it to another place not work at all,  have another not work on all my computers but work somewhere else. All different brands of floppies all different brand of Floppy drives. I have a better chance winning the lottery then getting this floppys to work right. LOL

Yes there s a third party tool to send mail directly from
    flash. I forgot its name..
But my Suggestion is to use either ASP/PHP to send mail
Why BCZ. to send mail u need Net connection. If netconnection
Exist u can use ASP/PHP. U can access it from your desktop also. So
Use a ASP/PHP function to send mail.

  • Fireworks/Flash Integration Not Useful

I’ve begun experimenting with Fireworks and the vaunted
integration between FW & Flash seems to be mostly hype.
(I’m speaking of the big deal Adobe makes about it in the CS3
Video Workshop.) So far I’m finding that the limitations of
what can be transported through round-trips between the two apps
render the purported integration largely useless.
Some of the most useful effects, like those commonly applied
in the provided Styles, don’t survive the import into Flash.
E.g., for Plastic Button 009 the Hue/Saturation filter
doesn’t make it into Flash. Without the HS filter, you
don’t get any color in Flash.
And even when the needed visual properties do make it intact,
the update mechanism doesn’t seem to work. For example, I
created a new FW file, drew a rounded rectangle and applied the
Chrome Reflective 006 Style and saved the file. I imported it into
the Flash library choosing the maintain appearance options. I then
went back into FW and applied the Chrome Misc 003 style and saved.
Then, in Flash I right-clicked on the bitmap in the library and
chose Update but when I clicked the Update button it just said 0 of
1 items updated and displayed a little question mark. I’ve
had similar problems importing PSD files/layers into Flash and
    trying to update.
I tried another test, this time choosing the “keep all
paths editable” option when importing into Flash. However,
this lost some of the desired effects and didn’t even provide
the option to update (grayed out).
So, as far as I can tell, I have to create each image as a
separate file in FW and then just import it as a regular GIF or
JPEG into Flash. FW can still be useful as it provides some nice
styles, gradients, textures and other features that can help in
creating web graphics. But integration with Flash seems to be all
but non-existent. Am I missing something??
    David Salahi

I love Fireworks + Flash integration, it's what originally
got me using Fireworks, actually. But there are some bumps that you
need to be familiar with, as you've found. It also takes some
understanding of the Flash platform and how it differs from the
freedoms you get in Fireworks, so hopefully I can help there:
Filters - Yep, Flash only supports a small subset of filters.
This might change in the future with the announcement of
    Hydra/Pixel
Bender, which is really exciting, but for now you are stuck
with only a few filters in Flash. Open up Flash and get familiar
with them. And be glad we aren't having this conversation a few
version ago, when there were no filters at all! Once you are
familiar with the filters and blendmodes that Flash has, when you
are working in Fireworks and intend to go to Flash, remember what
filters you can use. The rest will have to be avoided or flattened
before importing into Flash. Yes, it's technology limiting your
creative freedom, I hate that, but if you understand the limits you
can still push it very far. BTW, Hue/Saturation actually does make
it from FW to FL for me.
The Update option is really intended for Bitmaps linked to an
external bitmap image file, like JPGs or GIFs. When you went to
update your bitmap you probably noticed that the Path field was
blank -- this is because Flash doesn't have it linked to an image
file, and it can't pull it out of a PNG source file. That would be
a really nice feature, and one I've requested:
    http://adobe.com/go/wish/
When you choose "keep all paths editable" then all filters
and effects you used which are not supported in Flash are stripped
out. There are other features which Fireworks has that Flash does
not, like pattern/texture fills, some of the gradients, etc. They
all don't exist in Flash so they don't come through. Again this all
comes back to understanding what Flash can do, and making sure your
    Fireworks design is compatible.
Sounds like you had a jarring experience trying to integrate
between FW and Flash, but the problem is understanding the huge
difference between what you get on Flash's canvas and Firework's
canvas. Flash is generally limited. The reason Flash is limited is
because it's a runtime canvas optimized for web. When you make
something in Fireworks you have unlimited freedom because in the
end you'll just export to a static pixel image. But in Flash, you
are dealing with a whole different beast -- interaction. The Flash
canvas is rendered at runtime... you can think of the Flash Player
as fulfilling the role of Fireworks running in the browser, so of
course it has to be in a much smaller scale.
Anyway, once you get used to how Flash works and how that
differs from Fireworks, integration will make a lot more sense. The
way you describe of exporting each graphic/layer as a separate JPG
and importing is basically the way it used to have to be done with
Photoshop, but I definitely recommend trying to get familiar with
how Flash works and getting a hang of the design to import process
    of Fireworks to Flash.
In case it helps, here's my workflow of Fireworks to Flash (I
create a lot of Flash content so this is very battle tested for
    me):
    1) Design in Fireworks, with both knowledge of what Flash can
do, and a bit of reckless abandon because I'm a designer, I'll make
it look the way I want even if it takes extra work in Flash ;)
    2) Once the design is final, I create a duplicate Fireworks
    page
    3) I go through my design and make it as Flash compatible as
possible. This means flattening anything that needs to be
flattened, sometimes converting text to paths, redoing some
    graphics in vector, etc
    4) Import into Flash
    5) Cleanup anything that didn't come through right. At this
point it's just small stuff, like dotted strokes come through
solid, so I have to make them dotted again
    6) Animate or rig up with ActionScript
    7) For small changes, I make my change in Fireworks, then I
copy/paste only the changed elements back into Flash and replace
    them
    Hope that helps. Good luck!

  • Flash Plugin not using Firefox's proxy settings

    Hello there
after observing that we cannot watch some videos (for example
    <

    or <
    http://news.zdnet.com/2422-13569_22-204568.html>)
behind our company's proxy and firewall, I talked to our network
admins and they showed me that on some websites (not YouTube or the
like) it seems like the Firefox Flash plugin doesn't use the proxy
settings from Firefox but rather tries to directly connect to the
respective server, which of course times out. Using Internet
Explorer works perfectly. Has anyone had this problem and knows of
    any work arounds or fixes?
    Hope someone an help me/us.
    Greetings from Germany
    Michael

I am facing a similar issue with the flash content on my website (appnina.com). Any flash content is not displayed on my website.
The problem is because of using flash plugin in Mozilla Firefox (21.0 - updated). The flash plugin does not get activated by default. That is whenever opening the site, the flash content is not displayed. It asks to click the activate button. This activation should be one time, however it always asks to do so whenever opening the site.
I just checked and found that this flash problem is not specific to my website but in general (youtube as well).
Let me put the screen shot of the same.
Any permanent solution to this. Let me check if I can delete the old plguin and download it again to solve this issue.
The problem seems to be because of compatibility problem of firefox with flash.
PS: Let me know if I need to start a new discussion thread on this ?

  • Flash player not using full capacity. (11.7/8)

I have been attempting to play an extremely resource-heavy flash game: Madness: Project Nexus. I have a gaming computer with a 670M GTX gpu and a i7 Quad Core 2.7 Ghz, with 12GB of DDR3 RAM. OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. Browser is Firefox Aurora 23.0 Alpha 2. Exact Flash Player version is 11.7.700.224.
However, flash player doesn't use enough of the processor or the RAM.  At most, I've only experienced a 30% RAM and a 25% processor usage. How would I increase the parameters to allocate upwards of 8GB of RAM and 100% max processor usage for Adobe Flash?
It isn't the computer slowing me down; Flash player doesn't use enough of it. That's why I need help.

First thing to check: do you have the "kill-bit" for Flash Player set (e.g. by some malware): http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If you have, don't fix it manually (unless you are very confident using the Registry Editor); just post back, and someone will post an easy way to remove that "kill-bit".

  • Flashing bios + ME ofZ87-G45 Gaming Mainboard from 1.5 to the latest 1.9.

I  have been reading and watching a lot of videos on the subject..including the general threads here.
So my understanding has become ...  do not use  liveupdate 6 (mine can't even tell what I have installed).  M-flash is the official way to flash bios and it works well if you choose uefi + ME.
I want to flash my bios because my USB 3 front ports have always been flaky and hoping for a bit more system stability (4 cpu hardware corrected errors since put together system in march) and in ultra rare case  system will become unresponsive. Plus, will have room to upgrade to new cpu in future.
I did not enable the overclocking in the bios, but it is enabled.  From what I have read ..is it then true that I must disable this before flashing?
I have also downloaded the 1.9 bios for my Z87-G45 Gaming Mainboard and placed it on a USB 2.0 flash drive that must be plugged into a back usb 2.0 port (though mouse and keyboard are in the legacy ports).
My understanding is that I simply have to boot into the bios ...with the usb stick plugged in ..  disable the overclocking and then choose upgrade uefi bios + ME.   choose the file  listed and wait.  When it is flashed, it will reboot and then flash ME.
My question here is .. how will it flash ME?  does the bios file also have the ME information?
And after the bios is successfully updated  and set back to how it was set before the flash ...  the last step, I understand ..is to install the ME driver package ...  I have the ME10  zip of 75 meg ready.
Do I understand this correctly ...  other than needing to know how ME gets flashed from the one bios file (which is E7821IMS.190)?
Is there anything else I need to ask to make this update foolproof?
    TIA for the help )

To make it foolproof follow the below, it will update bios and ME firmware. After flashing ME driver needs to be reinstalled in Windows too.
    >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
A.) Download the attached archive (E7817IMS_660.rar.rar) and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress.
B.) Download and install the Forum flash tool.
C.) Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick.
D.) Make sure that all win 8 options are disabled. (Fast Boot etc) Also make sure the legacy USB is enabled.
E.) Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive.
         F.) Boot to the USB
G.) Now follow the directions and let the tool flash
H.) After flashing reinstall ME drivers in Windows:  http://download.msi.com/dvr_exe/intel_amt90_mb.zip

  • Flashing BIOS without floppy?

Recently, I've flashed my 875P BIOS from 1.7 to 1.8 & am unhappy with the performance from the new BIOS. I would like to reflash it back to 1.7, but my floppy drive is no longer working properly & will not read data correctly from floppy disks. Is there a safe way to flash BIOS without using a floppy disk, such as through Windows? I've looked at LiveUpdate 3, but it only shows the current BIOS 1.8 that I can update from. Replies are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for the quick reply, DOS. I've figured out another way by putting the three files from LiveUpdate(MSISetup, AMIFlh, IftwInst.Tag) & 1.7 BIOS file together in a folder & flashed in Windows from there by clicking on MSISetup. The three files mentioned are always included during the LiveUpdate download along with a BIOS file for whatever version. Just make sure to remove the BIOS file you don't want & put in the one you do want along with the three files mentioned. Honestly, I held my breath during the flash process, but I'm glad it went okay without a hitch. So, for those who feel comfortable flashing in Windows(or DOS, since you have a choice during the flash process) to whatever BIOS version, this is an easy way of doing it. I don't know if this is good enough for a sticky since I know others are looking for ways of flashing there BIOS. Good luck!  :D

  • Using OSX 10.8 DW CS6 when I click "live" it says "flash plugin" "not found".

Using DW CS6 when I click "live" it says "Flash Plugin was not found. To view Flash content in Live View install the Firefox Flash Plugin from www.adobe.com."
My default browser is Chrome. DW uses Chrome as the primary browser. (FFox is secondary.)
I do have Firefox and do not have Flash on it. I open Flash content Chrome, and I installed an HTML5 video viewer add-on in FFox (but haven't tried it yet).
I also have the Dreamweaver HTML5 Video View add-on, so why am I getting that message? Furthermore, the HTML code doesn't have any Flash objects. (The code is the source HTML from www.google.com page, without any changes.)
How do I make DW display the "Live" view of the code without giving me an error? (My end goal is to find out what google does when you enter something in the search box and hit the Enter key, actually, I'd like to see why the result of the search is displayed the way it is - default should be Web view, but Image view shows instead. I want Web to show!)

"Why would anybody paste Google's source code into their own web page?" To learn from it.
I'm sorry Phil, but you can't learn much from Google's source code because search engines are dynamically programed with behind-the-scenes code and content from databases that you can't see.  You're just spinning your wheels here.  If you want to learn how to make a search engine, I'd be happy to point you to some relevant PHP & MySql tutorials.
The issue still remains that DW is giving me the error (flash plugin not found)
When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW

    Hi All,
I am trying to display a flash file using ADF trinidad component for one our project but not able to display when embeded inside the code.
However I am able to directly access the flash file using http://localhost:7101/test/pages/test.swf

    Hi Ramandeep,
I tried that option early but did not work. Not able to understand why.
    Below is the code snippet.

  • My website is telling users to install a flash/shockwave plug in but my site does not use either.

Like I said in the title we are getting the pop up bar asking users to install a flash plug in but there are not any flash objects on our site. I did an experiment and I found when I disable the shockwave plug-in on a machine that has it installed I get the pop-up and when I enable it on a machine that has it installed the pop-up goes away. I think I might have pin pointed the problem to a tracking script because when I remove the script the website does not ask for a plug-in. I contacted the people who made the script and they told me their script does not use flash in anyway. Does anyone have any idea why our useres are being asked to install the plug-in?
    Here is the pop-up:

Do you have any advertising on the site that could be using shockwave? If not the script you mention must somehow be using it somehow, you have even confirmed this removing it and there is no prompt.
What happens if you try it using another browser such as Firefox?
    regards
    Mike
