Flashing & disappearing folders

I was attempting to backup some docs on my Mac to a Western Digital Passport HD when I started getting problems with folders disappearing when I would click on them. Now I also have two open folders on my desktop that constantly flash. I already ran disk utility -- the disk as verified and permissions were updated but I still get the flashing folders. I cannot do anything on the Mac because the flashing seems to have taken over. I was able to boot into Win XP on the same machine (bootcamp)to find you guys. Hope you can help.
Thanks.

Sorry, I have OS 10.4.10 -- Thank you for the feedback. I hope,
though, that I can get a solution that doesn't cost more money.
Thanks.

  • Flash disappeared on Chrome

So I'm using Google Chrome and one flash disappeared. (and I have windows xp) Now I only have 2 flash. (disappeared Version 11.3.31.232) Now I can't download anythink and shows that all torrent files are broken. Is it because of this flash? Why are all torrent files broken? Please help me to fix it!!

    Hello,
You'll need to update Chrome for the built-in Flash Player version to be updated.  If you have Chrome set to update automatically, you may need to relaunch Chrome for the new version to load.

  • Disappearing folders created by 10.8 client on 10.5.8 server

I have a bizarre problem where a client (running 10.8.n) creates folders on a 10.5.8 server which then disappear for that client. All other clients (running 10.5.n to 10.6.n) on network can see these folders and access them yet the creator cannot. Can anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks Rob

Thanks for your help. I was not on-site when I made the inquiry. It turns out that the Mac client was connecting to the server via an SMB share. This was the root of the problem.

    Hi,
Adobe Flash Player is a plugin that allows browsers such as Firefox to display Flash media on web pages.
Open your simulation in web browser, if there is any flash content , it will display in that.
I hope, I was able to answer your question if not then please provide some more information on this.

  • Flash disappears when template upadated

For some reason, when I update a template and save the
changes globally, my Flash .swf disappears in the pages based on
the template, even though it works just fine in the template? What
    gives? Are .dwt files buggy?

    > When I detach from template it works fine again, so I
    guess it's no problem
But now it's detached. That's not a reversible process.
    A guess-
When inserting the .swf file in the template, use a Site Root
    Relative path
for it. (pulldown at the bottom of the Browse to File dialog
    box)
If that doesn't clear it up, url address to the uploaded page
    please.

  • Portfolio help - disappearing folders and headers.

I've noticed 3 issues that I'm having trouble with in a portfolio using Acrobate 9 Pro ver. 9.4.4
    1.  Once a portfolio is uploaded online the folders disappear.
    2.  When adding a header with an image the image will rescale back to the original size once you leave edit mode.
    3.  Header disappers when file is reopened.
    Thank you!

The header disappearing is likely a known issue, see the thread at http://forums.adobe.com/message/3491158#3491158 and see if this matches what you are seeing. In particular, note the workaround posted by Josh_Corey toward the bottom.
Regarding the other 2, please provide more information and/or screenshots. Some information that may be helpful, for example:
Image scaling (what header layout are you using, what image format, how are you scaling the image, how much you are scaling it, what accordion is expanded when you close the edit panel, etc). Did this work as expected prior to the update? The header does dynamically adjust some, so closing the edit panel may cause some shift as will resizing the portfolio window, but I wouldn't expect it to snap back to the original size.
Folders disappearing (does this happen with specific layouts, do you see the folders if you switch to list view while viewing the portfolio in the browser - the 2nd button in in the portfolio toolbar)  Did this work as expected prior to the update?

  • Why does my adobe flash disappear?

I recently updated my adobe flash to the new version 11.9 ...(yeah whatever ) and i want to use it to make cartoons and stuff but i can't find it I mean the instalation went well everything was fine and it just disappeared I'm not sure if before I could open it but I really need it so I read about those problems and uninstalled and installed and restarted my computer and oh by the way my computer is windows xp 32bit and I mostly use Mozilla firefox I think 25 but it just does not appear.. Please tell me something easy to do (like delete every adobe thing I have and reinstall it or I dont know what..) So yeah thanks :))

Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as" or "Save Link as"
    Flash Player Uninstaller
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLERs to remove all instances of Flash Player and Shockwave.
    Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Lastly, run the Installer for other browsers.
Once Flash Player is installed go to: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp
Download BOTH files, the one on the right FIRST by right clicking and selecting "Save target as"... the other by clicking and following the steps to download the FULL ActiveX installer.
If you're developing Flash Content (like cartoons) and you want to "test" them, you should use the Flash Player 11.9 Projector. It's a standalone version of Flash Player for just that purpose.

  • My Adobe Flash disappeared from my pc and not my program Flash! Helppp

    This question is Not Answered.
    Good Morning,
That I do not really remember or look for a solution, so I tell myself that it is perhaps a forum that I did find ..
I work on a project with Adobe Flash CS4, consist of several sequences with animation, script, sound ect.
Yesterday I try to Launch the movie and I got around to indicate a message saying: That I was unable to load all the sequences,'' then'' that my file had been damaged''
Following this I was worried and I was getting a check in my paper to see if my file was still there, and although it's not as if he estab delete it, it does not appear anywhere in my pc, put in my flash off is to remain open and on which I can still modify items so that is not blocked.
Now he tells me to reinstall Flash ..
Is that if I close Adobe Flash, will I lose my project?
It has been two and a half months I'm on it and I must make my exam tomorrow ..
Big panic, if you know give me a pipe or anything Thank you in advance!

There may be a problem with your project file(s), or there may be a problem with Flash. Your project files are stored outside of the Flash application. The original saved Flash files will have an extension of .fla. You should be able to search your computer for that file extension. If you are using separate Actionscript files, those files will have an extension of .as. You can also search for those files, if you think that you have any.
Before you reinstall Flash, read all of the information about reinstalling Flash at Adobe's web site.

  • Disappearing Folders (and the files within.)

I have a client whose running a Dual Processor XServe. The clients attaching to the server use InDesign, QuarkXPress, Photoshop and Acrobat Distiller. I've seen a trend that's a little disturbing. They are reporting that folders (and their contents, of course), will spontaneously disppaer from the server.
(Oh, and the server is running Server 10.4.5, with 1G RAM, and attached XRAID.)
Sometimes it happens during the day, sometimes it happens overnight.
We run a nightly backup, and have been able to recover most of these issues, but it seems to happen intermitantly, but not any longer than 2 weeks between events.
Has anyone else seen this behavior, and if so, what's the corrective action for it?
    Thanks!

  • Disappearing Folders

I've updated my Macbook and iMac (latest model) to OS X 10.7 Lion and have "lost" the Library folder in my User account on the iMac but not on the Macbook.
I used Tinker Tool to try to confirm that it exists - it does but I can't seem to make it "visible" -  before the whole OS corrupted and needed to be reloaded, so I'm loathe to use that again.
How can I see the foder again as it contains some information that is not available in tne system Library folder - information relating to specific programmes in my user account which wish to access.
I don't understand why it is visible/accessible on one machine and not on the other.

The folder is hidden now, to open go to your finder and click the go menu item then click go to folder type in  /Library it will show in the finder.

  • Disappearing folders from shared mailboxes

We have this ongoing problem and just can't find a solution for it.  We have a number of users that have a shared mailbox.  They frequently get into the situation where one person can see a subfolder but others can't.  The folder is actually
where it should be but only some of them can see it.  All permissions are wide open for them.
So we disable their cache.  Then outlook goes right down the tubes; searches take forever, outlook frequently locks up and spins... it's either one hell or the other.
What can we do to fix this?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Please confirm the mailbox permission between the problematic users and his shared mailbox.
If these users have full access permissions to the shared mailbox, the subfolders should be available to these users. Pease create a new Outlook profile to have a try:
    http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us
If the problematic user just has Owner permission to the Inbox folder in the shared mailbox, the new created subfolder may not be visible to other users. We need to add folder permission for the new created subfolders.

  • (GT683) disappearing folders?

    Hey!
I bought an MDI GT683 a couple months ago, and had no problems with the computer itself, until yesterday.
two days ago, i decided to clear off some games i had on an external harddrive that broke. (clearing broken shortcuts etc)
when i turned my computer on yesterday, i decided to play some other games, and noticed that my "Games" folder was missing. not the content of the folder, but THE ENTIRE FOLDER!
i decided i could try to run a System Restore, but i had the games on my D drive. seemingly i cant run recovery on that drive, only C.
does anyone know how i can run a 50hour complete restore on my D drive? it would suck having to re-install and download around 70GB of games.. for the 4th time..

I am facing the same problem -- quite frustrating -- almost like the other Operating System.
I'll try the reco and hope that it works... you are right that we should not have to remember that extra step.

  • Iphone folders disappeared

Any idea why I woke up this morning to find all contents of my folders gone and all contents dumped onto new pages?

Unfortunately, the disappearing folders seems to be a continuing issue with the new iOS.  My iPhone 3GS, running iOS 4.35, lost all of its folders sometime last night for no apparent reason.  It was connected to the charger, not the PC, throughout the night.  As others have shared, this has destroyed hours of work that was put into creating folders and arranging icons.  To make things worse, the icons that were once neatly arranged in these folders are now randomly scattered thorughout the 20 pages of icons.  As everyone knows, the iTunes interface does not lend itself to quick and easy file/folder manipulation.  Guess this will take many more hours of work, but what is to prevent it from happening again?
    Now what........

  • The folders   the emails disappeared in both yahoo and gmail, the folders   the emails disappeared in both yahoo and gmail

my mails disappeared in the fokders in both yahoo and gmail julius,
    also what does "never" mean
Cani make the screen stay on all the time
    <E-mails Edited by Host>

    Hello,
On the disappeared folders, try this first...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
On the screen issue, do you have System Preferences>Energy Saver>Sleep, set to Put Display to sleep in xx minutes?
