"Flashing" Screen as if a photo is being taken???

I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.8  there are a few issues. . .
Since installing it a few weeks ago I get this strange single “flashing” of the screen  every few minutes, almost as if someone is taking a photo. A bit creepy, actually.
I covered the camera eye just to see if it would stop. Nothing!
Naturally, I have used Repair Permissions, etc.
Anyone have any idea what is going on?
How about a Third Party repair program? I’ve used Disk Warrior and Norton in the past. Any new/better one’s that you could suggest?
Thanks for your help.
Tek

Thanks, J.C., but the "flash screen" box is not ticked.
Sorry about the font size folks. No idea what is going on. Can I eliminate or edit that post now? Can't see anything as to how to do it.
I did download an ad blocker program. It looks as if the problem is no more.
Like I said, creepy. I just wonder want that flashing was???
Thanks for the help.

Why does my caller I.D. photos show as a small thumbnail in the upper right corner and not full screen? I have used both photos I have synced and photos I have taken, yet others have full screen photo I.D.'s. I have looked onlime at several threads and there are no real answers as to what I need to do or am doing wrong.

I am also having this issue.
I've just spoken to someone in the Apple Support Centre who advised me that since the product is in beta, he is unable to assist. I wanted to find out whether someone was able to delete the data for me, or 'reset' the photos app somehow. This apparently cannot be done. He suggested I provide feedback via the feedback page, which I will do, but to be honest doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence in the issue being fixed.
I also deactivated the service and waited the 30 days for the pictures to be deleted - this should have been completed in mid-January. Instead, my iCloud.com Photos page is now showing the photos that should have been deleted as grey squares, just as you described. I am also unable to delete these photos; every time I try, I get the same message about a server error.
I am also unable to disable the service by enabling and then disabling it on my iPhone. Each time I have tried this it hangs on uploading for several hours, with the progress bar not moving at all. When I disable it on my iPhone, the web app remains unchanged.
If anyone has had this issue and has managed to fix it, PLEASE share your wisdom. I am out of patience!

  • No FULL SCREEN option for slideshow photos?

When creating a new project in iDVD, there only seems to be two screen size options: 4:3 ratio or 16:9 ratio. Is there not some way of selecting FULL SCREEN? As all my digital photographs are 4:3 ratio, that is what I selected.... but there are big chunks of black screen all around all my slideshow photos in the finished iDVD. Very annoying!!!!

Turning off the TV safe area is to prevent parts of the images from being lost, which is not the issue here. The problem I'm having is that there there are black bars around the entire displayed image. I believe this is called windowboxing. Letterboxing has black bars at top and bottom of screen, pillarboxing has the black bars at the left and right of screen. It's all to do with the ratio of the photographs.
My photos were all taken with a digital camera and are 4:3 ratio. I want the images to display FULL SCREEN. They are not doing this - not on a TV monitor - and not on a computer monitor!!! Is windowboxing hard-wired into the iDVD themes? This can't be right. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • Photo's being blurred

I got some help before on this same project: Tapping the * key on every beat of a tune being played in the back ground, this was a success. Much thanks.
However as soon as the sequence is played the quality of the photos are reduced to a blurred mess. We have been through and changed the resolution of the photos to all be the same, we have matched the photo's res to the res of the video, we have tried using the anti flicker thing in the motion props. Nothing seems to work.
We started the project again in Flash, the quality of the photo's was not reduced in any way, but there is no way of putting markers on the timeline.
Completely at a loss here. I've searched the forums and the help but there doesn't seem to much on this.

The Program Monitor in PrPro is but an emulation. Jim's suggestion on Qualtiy>Highest will likely help greatly. I also view at a Magnification setting of 100%, in lieu of Fit - same fly-out menu.
The only way to get better display is to feed out via FW to a calibrated CRT monitor, or use Jim's suggestion to view via the intended devlivery system, i.e. a DVD to set-top player, hooked to a TV if that is your intended delivery.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Can we show flash screen over the loaded HTML5 page in StageWebView for IOS?

    Hi Guys,
I want to show flash screen(let say abc.mxml) over loaded HTML5 page in StageWebView. But unable to show it. Even I want to interact with both pages ( flash and HTML5) bidirectionally.
Can anyone help me out of this StageWebView issue?
    Thanks,
    Mamta

Okay. I guess it's not possible?
Seems like the closest way to get there would be the UIwebview Native Extension. But the examples on the website are pretty vague as to it's use. (at least for a non-C coder like myself)
Anybody use that particular ANE? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Again, just need to set a simple property here...

Detail.  I Attach my camera and the fields where the photos usually show up are empty and at the top of the screen it says all photos from camera are downloaded. But they are not. They can't be.
I fixed the problem somewhat myself by removing the miniSD and manually inserting it. It did not populate automatically. I had to open iPhoto and then it populated only the most recent photos I had taken which fortunately were the only ones I need. No error messages this seems to be a new occurrence.
Is there a way to just turn iPhoto off and download my photos to the folder of my own choosing?

Sure - in the iPhoto prefercences set action when a camera is ocnnected to Image Capture

  • Photos are being added to my iPad, without choosing any events in iPhoto or having them sync with iCloud

Photos are being added to my iPad, without choosing any events in iPhoto or having them sync with iCloud
I just upgraded to IOS6, and now my ipad is full of pictures I did not choose to sync.
I cannot delete them without deleting them from all sources.
Actually, the message is when I go to hit EDIT, select a picture, and then choose DELETE: "This photo is used in an album. Do you want to delete it everywhere? Delete Everywhere"
Does that mean "Everywhere" on my iPad, or everywhere including whatever place on my computer it found the photos to begin with?
    PLEASE HELP
    Ps:
    I've already done this:
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

You can still sync the photos and keep the photos that are already on the device. You have to include all of the albums or events in the pictures folder that you sync from. If you are using iPhoto, select that in the Sync Photos from drop down menu and then select all of the albums or events that you want to sync. Make sure to check Selected Albums, events, faces and automatically include (no events). Using that option will allow you to choose exactly which albums and events to sync.
You have to remember that all photos must be included in every sync so you cannot sync photos from iPhoto today and then try to sync photos from another folder tomorrow, or you will erase all of the photos that were synced from iPhoto. You need to maintain one main Photos syncing folder for the photos that you want to transfer to the iPad. You can have subfolders within that one main folder and you can selectively sync those subfolders. You just have to place all of the photos that you want to sync into one main iPad syncing photos folder.
There are WiFi transfer apps that allow you to transfer photos to the iPad without having to sync with iTunes. I use this one. This app (and others like it) will allow you to use multiple computers to transfer photos.

  • Flash Screen

I am looking to replicate the flash screen alert option as found in the System Prefs > Universal Access "Hearing" pane but can't figure it out. I did find a script that will press the keyboard combo to invert the colors and back...
tell application "System Events" to repeat 2 times
    key code 28 using {command down, control down, option down}
    delay 0
    end repeat
...but that's not the effect I'm looking for. Any ideas? I did also find a cocoa command called FlashMenuBar ( http://cocoadev.com/index.pl?FlashScreen ) but I'm not sure if this is something that can be called via Applescript.
Any ideas? I don't want to UI script the pref pane to click the flash screen button. I'd like it to be a standalone app.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Oops.
The error message means Perl compilation failed because the specified Perl module Mac::Menus could not be found...
The posted Perl code works fine with MacPerl 5.6.1r2 under OS9.1. However, it seems it won't work under OSX.
(The Perl code simply invokes MacOS's Toolbox function 'FlashMenuBar(0)' twice in sequence, as explained in:
    Toolbox Essentials >...> FlashMenuBar
or in Carbon Menu Manager Reference (pp. 52-53 of pdf):
    MenuManager/menu_managerref.pdf
    Menu_Manager/index.html
As far as I've searched briefly, this route via Perl (currently) won't lead you to the goal under OSX. Although there exists a Mac::Carbon module in CPAN, Menu Manager routines seem not implemented (yet).

Open Activity monitor in Utilities, go to the CPU tab>All Processes, and note any process that would appear to be related to importing photos, such as iPhoto, and use Force Quit. This may only be a temporary fix, as it may start all over again when you reboot. If that happens, we need to do some more investigating.
Also, close all open Applications, then open Terminal in Utilities and copy/paste and hit return, then post the output of this command.
    lsof -l +L -R -V | grep /

  • Photos are being imported to the photo library... nothing being importe

I am trying to to upload my photos from iPhone4 (6.1.3) to iMac with Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6, but it's always the message "photos are being imported to the photo library" pop out without any photo being uploaded. (That forced me to force-quit iPhoto even when the phone is detached from iMac.)

Try the Image Capture application that comes with every Mac. It gives you a little more control over the import process.

  • How to exit Full screen view to same photo

How can you go back to same photo that you viewed in Full Screen instead of the first photo in the file. Each time I use Full Screen or Compare 2 photos, when I exit, Elements goes back to 1st photo in the file. Then I have to scroll back to where I was viewing photos. There was no problem in Elements 9 on these features.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Are you still having a problem?
I'm assuming that you are using PSE 11.
Which operating system are you using?
In the organizer, if you select an image, switch to full screen and the exit without doing anything, does the selection stay in the same place or move to the start?
Does it matter what type of image it is?
Are you using the Esc key to exit full screen mode?
