'flashing' screen during capture

hi all,
i just downloaded FCPX from the app store onto the mid 2011 mac mini using 2.7 g intel core i7 with 8GB 1333 MHz DDR3 and Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB on the OS X 10.9.4 (13E28).  what's happening i've never seen before so am wondering what to do.  during the capture the Media Import screen is importing but the screen is 'flashing' as if it's stuck on an earlier part of the footage (which is flashing over the capture from the camera.)  the capture is continuing and it's only flashing on the import screen.  i haven't taken the time to look at the captured footage in the timeline yet so don't know if it's like that there.
should i scrap this download and download this version of FCPX again from the app store?

  • Flash screen during load of lvdaq.dll

    I'm trying to load a "Labview" dll into a Visual C++ DLL that is later loaded in a Visual (6.0) C++ application. The labview DLL is reading I/O from the PCI-6503.
    When I see the application graphical interface a loading window for the lvdaq.dll is flashing on the screen.
    The labview.dll and lvdaq.dll is explicit loaded in the C++ DLL. If explicit loading is not used it will be a memory error in NT.
    One way is maybe to load the lvdaq.dll
    in the application instead for the DLL. But I rather dont want to that.
    lvdaq.dll is neccessary to get the functionallity of PCI-6503, right?
    Where is the lvdaq.lib file?
    How to I get ride if the flashing window?
    Regards

    You should be using NI-DAQ32.dll rather than lvdaq.dll. Lvdaq.dll requires LVRTE to be running, and it calls into lvdaq-32.dll anyway.

  • Appear flashing line on the screen during work

    I bought Macbook Air since 1st July 14. I found the flash line appear on screen during work but it's just shot line at the first and It appears just few secs. So I thought it's not too serious to me. Till now the line is seem more longer and appear frequently. Then I decide to take it to Service centre. They said my screen is not in its position. It's just a bit, If you don't look at it exactly, you won't notice it. I don't know what happen. It's usually as it was on fist day I bought it, never be fallen it. It's still in the good condition.  They fixed my problem by re-fit my screen but after I use it again I still found that flash line. what should I do? Now my air got the scratch on the screen edge from re-fitted it.  I really disappoint.

    I'm assuming by "flash line" you mean there's a horizontal or vertical line randomly appearing on your screen? If that's the case I've seen that on laptops before. If its an intermittent issue try to move the screen forwards and backwards on its hinge to see if you can find one spot where that line almost always appears. You should have an issue with the cable connection to the main logic board, or the cable itself could be malfunctioning.
    Also what exactly did they do when they "re-fit" your screen? Did they simple check the connectors, or actually dissemble the computer and resemble it? Either way if a cable is bad then it wouldn't have made a difference. You may be looking at a warranty replacement solution on this one.

    I have FCP version 5.1.4 . I am using OSX 10.6 snow leopard (Macbook Pro). Have captured and edited without any problems. All of a sudden I am getting an interference during capture. This interference comes in the form of a bright red color which suddenly fills half my screen from corner to corner forming a right angled triangle and hiding half of my picture triangularly. it flashes and then remains. Anyone know what the **** this is and how I can rectify it?
    I would be EXTREMELY for any help anyone can give me. Thanks in advance.

    This is happening to me today as well. Has it got something to do with 10.6.7 I have just updated and now I seem to be having the same problem

  • HT3986 i get a black screen during windows 7 installation on bootcamp 5.0.1

    i get a black screen during windows 7 installation on bootcamp 5.0.1 , it wont install

    Hi wb2009,
    I haven't found that the TV would be an issue, but did find an article that states to not have extra USB devices connected.
    Boot Camp: Windows installation boots to black screen with blinking cursor
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4536
    The Windows installation may boot to a black screen with a blinking cursor. This can occur if you use a USB optical drive or USB Flash drive for the Windows installation and another USB device is also connected to the computer.
    There's another article that mentions Windows XP or Vista that may apply.

  • I5 17''MBP  gets blue screen during install windows 7 32 bit

    Hello all:
    I heard that quite many people get classic windows' "blue screen" during using windows , whatever Windows XP, Vista or 7. But now i face the "blue screen" during install Windows 7, which means I even can not complete installation.
    I bought my Macbook Pro i5 17'' one month ago, and I'm trying to install Windows 7 but I face the problem during the installation. After finishing first 4 steps the computer would restart and start to "finish installation", but at this time it gets "blue screen" and shows "error: 0x0000009c" and stuck there. I have to shut down the turn off button and interrupt the installation.
    I don't know if there's any one else face this unlucky situation. I searched on the net and it says the problem could be from memory, graphic card (too new), or even overlocking the cpu,whatever it must be the problem of hardware. I thought it might be the problem of compatible.
    If anyone knows how to deal with this problem??!! I do need to use some software under Windows system!

    It is good to see that it is indeed a USB2.
    The support software on the USB is used in the Pre-boot environment setup and provides drivers for Apple specific hardware, GPU, BT, Mouse, etc. You can verify that by looking at the USB contents. The DVD contains generic drivers when hardware is not recognized as defaults to use. Apple does enough 'secret sauce' to make them different. The following does not explicitly state the USB2 need when using the DVD Installer and mentions W8 (not W7).
    From Boot Camp: Creating an ISO image from a Windows installation DVD - Apple Support
    Insert a blank USB 2 flash drive that is a least 16GB in size into a USB port on the computer. Boot Camp Assistant uses this drive to store the Windows 8 install media and support drivers during installation of Windows.
    Note: This flash drive needs to be formatted for the FAT32 file system and must use the Master Boot Record partitioning scheme. Use Disk Utility to check the format of the flash drive before proceeding, and partition or erase the flash drive if necessary.
    I suspect the GPU is not getting the correct driver and the Installer fails. The Generic VGA should work. From the OS X side, can you see files in your BC volume? If yes, can you look for logs in the BC volume at the following locations.
    ./Windows/Inf/setupapi.dev.log
    ./Windows/Inf/setupapi.offline.log
    ./Windows/Inf/setupapi.setup.log
    ./Windows/Logs/SetupCleanupTask/setupact.log

  • Why can't I Apple+H hide Final Cut during capture anymore?

    I used to love hiding the big screen while it was capturing footage and I could get on with other stuff and see my desktop!
    For some reason it doesn't hide anymore?
    Anyone know about this?

    Now, there is a problem though, now Apple-H doesn't hide it! I just don't understand why this would happen all of a sudden? I can live with it but I preferred hiding Final Cut so I can see my desktop.
    Alex
    Hi Alex, very interesting. What version is your OS? Did this happen after an update to the OS? I can certainly understand your frustration when a function all of a sudden doesn't work as it use to, especially when it's a function that is suppose to work.
    Personally I don't do too many other tasks while capturing, but I will often switch over to check my email or something not very demanding upon my system. Yet, I have at times run some pretty heavy applications without any problems with my capture. So, I suppose it has a lot to do with installed memory and your processing power + fast drives. In any case, I understand what your asking here and will be anxious to see what other solutions you are offered.

  • Laptop won't start up past the flash screen.

    I have a HP G72 laptop, and every time i try to start it the flash screen come up and than turn black and says "insert bootable disk and press any key". I have tryed to use Norton  360 to recover my pc but I get all the way to using  the advanced recovery scan  and it tell me it is unable to access the disk. please help

    Sounds like the hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If not a retail laptop SATA hard drive can be used. Just be sure to get one of at least equal capacity as the original in order to use Recovery Discs. It can be larger, but not smaller capacity.For instance if you have a 500GB hdd you could use a 750GB hdd but not a 320GB hdd.
    You might first try reseating the hard drive to ensure it has a secure connection. In rare cases the drive can be jostled loose during transporting.

  • Another Black Screen on Capture issue!

    Hi, Note with interest I am not the only one to be confronted with this issue. I have a Sony HDR HC7 HD (HDV) camera and on intial set up of my installation - used this camera and through Easy Set up chose the Apple codec 1080i50 for PAL video capture and every thing was hunky dorey.. Indeed great stuff.. Subsequently I needed to video edit some SD video taken by another Sony camera DCR PC330 PAL and reset the Easy set up to accept SD video. It worked -and is still working. The problem I now have is try as I might - by going back to Easy Set up and reconfiguring to the original settings for the HD camera I am confronted by a black screen on capture. Everything else seems to be fine.. the camera whirrs and starts up but there ain't no flaming picture!! Help!

    I found that at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI
    Set up the BIOS in EFI or Legacy mode
    Some recent computers (>2011) allow to set up the boot either in UEFI mode or in Legacy (not-EFI) mode. The way to carry out this setting depends on the computers, but generally this setting is located in the "Boot order" tab of the BIOS (to access the BIOS screens, it is generally necessary to press a key during the PC startup).
    Note: Some BIOSes (e.g. American Megatrends' "Aptio", found on the Asus vivobook series) call Legacy mode "Compatibility Support Module" or simply "CSM".
    So if that applies to your machine, you might be able to boot Windows7 with UEFI mode and Arch+Nvidia with Legacy BIOS mode, without changing anything to the installation (the BIOS boot loader seems to be compatible wih GPT partition table, but there is to configure something for it to work see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GPT#BIOS_systems).
    If you can't do that and you really do not want to use the nouveau driver, you have no other choice than to wait for Nvidia to release an UEFI compatible driver, and not to work in tty console mode.
    You can also try to search how some has succeeded to use the efifb frame buffer with the nvidia driver, with special configurations.
    But, apart from the BIOS switch between boot loaders,  the two easiest approaches for you are either to use the nouveau driver or to not work in tty console mode when using the nvidia driver.
    Maybe you could find something better but it will be more complicated, I don't know if you have time and motivation to go this way...
    Nvidia will surely release a UEFI compatible driver sooner or later...
    Regards.

  • Crash during capture with Kona

    I have an odd problem with video capture. During the capture, if I click onto another app or even just the Finder, Final Cut crashes. It actually looks perfectly fine: video continues to be displayed in the capture screen and disk activity continues. However, FCP doesn't come back to being the front application and I have to force quit it.
    If I don't click on another app during capture, everthing is fine.
    Yeah, yeah: if it hurts, don't do it, right? However, I don't think FCP should crash just because I've switched into another app (particularly when it's just the Finder & no other "real" app is running). I just added a Kona LHe card and I think this crash has started since then.
    Details:
    * Quad G5
    * Kona LHe
    * OS X 10.4.6
    * FCP 5.1.1
    * external SATA array
    * latest Aja drivers
    Has anyone else seen this?
    Regards,
    fh

    I finally got around to calling AJA on this. They said it's to be expected. I should have realized but the problem is caused by the switching of control of the Kona card. There's a whole bunch of information about this in the Kona manual and it sounds insanely complicated, so now that I think about it, it's no surprise that switching during a capture might be bad.
    AJA tech support (Rudi, I think) was, as always, fantastic. I love that company.
    thanks,

  • Audio echo during capture CS3

    During capture I get this terrible audio echo.  If I go into the Windows mixer panel and set a slider called Premiere down to zero that will stop it.  But if I then wish to hear the audio (from Premiere) after the capture I have to turn it up again.  Sureley this is not the correct way to do it.
    It seems as though the input audio is being monitored and the delayed Premiere output at the same time.  This will only happen when the capture screen is open.
    Anyone any idea how to stop this without constantly playing with the mixer?
    Very annoying.

    Problem is only while the capture screen is being used. The delay is very pronounced.
    So, your Captured footage does not exhibit this echo. Is that correct? Obviously, you have a latency issue. What are your Audio playback settings? I would also wonder about the Matrox card, as these have caused all sorts of Audio issues, though I do not recall any with Capture.
    If the first statement is true, then your footage is clean and good, and all you have to do is adjust the necessary settings during Capture.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Crashing during capture

    Lately I've been having trouble capturing HDV video from my Canon HV30....FCE keeps crashing during capture. This problem has just recently started, even though I haven't changed any settings or done anything differently from the past. I'm using a 2x2.8 quad core Mac Pro, 8GB ram, OS10.6.2, FCE 4.01 and I'm capturing to a dedicated Western Digital scratch drive (640 gb, about 200 gb free). I'm capturing via Firewire, and I don't have any other firewire devices attached during capture. Any ideas why FCE has suddenly started crashing, and any ideas for troubleshooting? Thanks.

    I have had the same problems attempting to capture from a Canon HV40: whether I shoot at 60i or 30P, the result is the same: Capture will open a window without any playback controls and start to play the footage (that is, it starts the camera playing) but if (a) I stop playback from the camera, or (b) the shot ends and the tape is now blank, or (c) I press ESC to end the capture as per the instruction at the bottom of the capture screen, in all instances FCE 4.01 crashes. And when i restart it, there is NO list of shots captured, nothing. But if I go into the scratch disc, they are there. I cannot get these files to open in QT, either!

  • IPhone 5 flashing screen

    iPhone 5 flashing screen between Apple logo and other colours.  Any advice to attempt to save the phone?
    Update did not work, will try restore next but hoping to save stuff as iCloud hasn't updated for awhile.

    Howdy jr02yc,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    Take a look at the article linked below, it provides troubleshooting suggestions steps that can help you resolve the issue with your iPhone 5 not starting up past the Apple logo.
    If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
    If your device gets stuck during startup
    When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
    Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
    Put your device in recovery mode.
    When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
    Take care,
    -Jason
