FlashMX problem in Windows7

I have been using FlashMX  since about 2003 and have produced hundreds of movies and web sites. I recently upgraded from WindowsXP to Windows7. What a nightmare - Windows 7 that is. It as created havoc with many files.
My FlashMX authoring program runs slow - for example if I select a symbol to edit it, a marquee forms around the element and slowly expands to fill the stage - this can take 5 seconds where normally next input would be instantaneous - after editing -in return to the main scene the same marquee operates in reverse taking more time. This is making the whole creative process a pain to say the least.
I am also running a trial of Flash CS5.5 and find I am totally lost - everything I would normally do seems forbidden or is such a roundabout route as to make creation a prolonged battle of wits and is frankly making me think of using Swish. Adobe do offer a lot of help n the form of tutorial videos - these will take me months to view, time I haven`t got. The earlier editions were much more intuitive to use in my opinion.
Like many advances in technology, so called improvements or enhancements just complicate issues to the point of making them virtually useless.
My  question here is does anybody know a cure for the Marquee problem?
Any suggestions welcome
Thank you

Hi, since reporting the above problem I have resumed working in FlashMX for a fairly large project. I have tried a trial version of Flash CS5 but really do not like it and do not think it is worth paying all that money when the old software does the job - when it runs! Strangely, I was started using MX a week ago and it crashed on opening. I spent a day trying to get it to work with mounting frustration. I tried reverting to WindowsXP by changing the boot disk choice on the bios. Weird, Windows 7 will not relinquish control and other than unpluging the Windows 7 drive my system defaults to W7 (!?!). 3 Days ago Flash started working ok and I enjoyed some creative time. This morning Flash MX will not start again and I have spent another few hours trying all sorts of things. Here is the error message:

  • Adobe Photoshop CS4 (x64) problem on Windows7

Hi, everyone. I have a problem with Photoshop CS4 (x64) running on Windows7 (x64). When I try to launch x64 version I get message "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." It was working fine before and only today it have broken. By the way, Photoshop CS4 (x86) works perfect, I can't launch only x64 version. Have you any idea how to solve this problem?

  • Nf750-g55 problem installing windows7 home premium 64bit

so i am attempting to build a htpc for a friend. got all the parts in the mail and started assembling the thing. installed the the m/b, cpu, hard drive, DVD drive, and power supply into the case and hooked up a old VGA CRT monitor and PS/2 keyboard and mouse. attempted to load the OS (specifically Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM)(purchased from newegg) which is where my problems started.  pardon the length here but i will try to be as detailed as possible to describe the issues.
initial boot, everything powers up goes through the MB splash screen and it asks for bootable media.
i put the install disk in the DVD and reboot, it comes up and boots from the DVD and brings up the windows install desktop. copies files, expands files, installs features and updates then auto shuts down to reboot.
on reboot it brings up the desktop and starts flashing the 3 little dots next to the words completing installation. it does this for approximately 2 Min's then the computer crashes and app 20 seconds later the monitor led turns from green to amber for loss of video signal.
computer reboots with MB splash screen then brings up the windows shut down unexpectedly screen "what do you want to do?"
if i start windows normally it brings up the windows splash screen with the 4 fireflies that turn into the windows icon, blinks once then black screens. few secs later the monitor led goes amber and the system reboots.
if i start in safe mode it will go Through the windows splash screen to the desktop and gives me the message "cannot finish installation in safe mode please reboot"
as of this time i have swapped the memory out for the smaller module listed in my Sig. i started with a 4GB module of gskill ripjaw but have read that windows7 sometimes doesn't like more then 2 GB installed so used a spare i had laying around. i also tried another harddrive, i have run memtest86 as well as a harddrive diagnostic on the installed drive. i have swapped the drive sata cables around a bit. currently have hd in sata1 and DVD in sata4.
i reflashed the bios from v1.3 to v1.5 with no change in the symptoms.
i also unplugged everything from the front panel of the case except for the power/reset switches and power/hdd LEDs. no overclocking. insured the overclock dips on the MB were set in the off position.
i also have tried to install both 32 and 64 bit versions of 7 ultimate. both fail in the exact same way. however a copy of server2008 32bit installed just fine.
i made a tech support ticket with msi and hit the highlights in my post there, the response was that this type of concern is typically caused by memory issues but since i had both swapped in another memory module and run memtest that it was likely a MB issue and i should contact my reseller for an exchange.
before making an rma request i wanted to touch base here and see if anyone might have a solution that wont require me waiting another week or so to get this thing up and running. it almost sounds like i may have a driver type issue that is causing things to wig out on me, since it boots OK in safe mode but not in normal mode. but i really dont have any idea on how to test that theory.
in advance thank you for any suggestions

well i tried out a diferent dvd and cable today and no go on a resolution that way.  and yes the ram module is in the dimm1 slot
as a hail mary i stuck my HD into my other computer and installed the os that way and then ran the msi driver disk as well before parking the HD back in the other case. amazingly the thing booted up just fine and loaded a bunch of drivers. everything seemed ok until i rebooted and got a bsod during loading into windows. at least now i have a direction to go with. the minidump info listed the nvlddmkm.sys driver as the fault. from a quick websearch this seems to be a issue with the nvidia driver sets. i am currently attempting to locate a stable driver set version. will post back with either success or failure results

  • Ideapad E570 nVidia GeForce GT630M driver problem under Windows7

    Hi Folks!
I'm using the above mentioned notebook with Windows7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit. I tried to use the GeForce card with the latest dirver (8.17.12.8590) found on Lenovo's support site. Even if I tried to access the 3D settings in nVidia control panel (it should to display the rotating 3D nVidia logo), Windows will occur a "blue death" (exeption error). Same situation when I try to run a 3D applicaton like 3DMark...
The situation is same with the latest driver from nVidia.
Please, give me an idea how to fix this.
    Cheers!

  • Paging file problem in Windows7/HP Memories disc

I found that the HP Memories disc causes an inability to set a paging file in Windows 7. An error messge appears every time on start up. I was advised by Lenovo to re-install Windows 7 but that does not cure the problem. Only not using the HP disc did so.

Ok, well, I called the tech support here in athens greece, and what did the guy told me? that I have to get the recovery cds as long as I deleted the recovery partition and did not make any recover y cd before deleting it. Fair enough I told him, I can understand this, but, I told, are you sure I am going to be able to actually install an os on this computer, cause I've already tried to install windows vista home premium, but the same thing happens, it return the same error as with windows 7 and xp! He said, yes, you're going to succeed, so I told him, ok, that means that there must be some kind of block inside the computer, most probably inside the bios, that prevents the installation of anything except the exact copy of the os that was preinstalled, and he didn't know exactly what to tell me, but more or less he told me yes, there is! Is that right, could the bios be blocking the installation of any other os? I can see in the bios that it says "preinstalled os: vista" something I've never seen in any other computer, but, can they do it? And why is this guy so sure the problem is that I was not using the recovery cds with the pre installed version of the os, couldn't be a cd/dvd drive problem? I have to pay for those recovery cds, what if it gives the same problem with those too?
Also I wanted to ask if someone knows how to make a bootable cd with the bios update, I mean which files should I extract from the exe, where and with what do I have to put them, etc., if someone coud please help me at least updating the bios, I could try installing the os from a usb key, so that I could tell for sure if it's a problem of the dvd drive.
    Thanks.

  • Num Lock problem after windows7

    Hello
since the installation of windows 7 home premium on my HP Pavillion dv9040ea Notebook, it is not possible anymore to use the numbers of the Number Block together with the letters on the Main Keyboard block. It means: when I want to type numbers with the help of the number block on the right side, I need to press the button NUM to switch it on. Then the numbers there work. BUT therefore, the letters of the main keyboard block do not work! ( I live in Germany by the way and use German ). There are some letters where when I press them there does not appear this letter but a number on the screen. when I presse NUM again to switch it off, the letters work perfectly again but the numbers of the number block don't - there instead the page down/up etc is activated.
How can I get it back that I can use the numbers on the right side while using the letters of the main keyboard?
I've tried through execute OSK.exe and regedit initial keyboard indicators, no success. In BIOS I don't find any option for NUM lock.
    Thank you all!

I don't think it is serious enough to return it. I have problems with my num lock and caps lock keys also, but I think it is a problem with the PMU firmware. Quite a few people are having an issue, so I don't think it is a hardware problem.
There are also people having other problems related to the PMU, such as the coloured lines at startup. I suspect we will see a firmware update at some point that can hopefully fix it.
My advice would be try resetting your PRAM with command-option-p-r at startup (until you hear the second chime). Or resetting the PMU by turning off the 'book. disconnecting power and taking battery out, then pressing power button for 5 seconds. Then turn it all back on again and it should be ok.
Stay away from 10.4.7 too, it's just trouble.

  • Digivox micro HD problem with Windows7

    Hi,
After succesefull installation of driver and ArcMedia software I could see atached device, but no available channels it could found. I used coaxial cable (have a Cable TV). Then I've tried with Media Center on my Windows7, and I couldn't configure it properly, because it couldn't download some settings for my zone. After that action my pc doesn't even recognize tv tuner. The first question is do I need Media Center for watching TV if I already have ArcMedia software? And the second one, why my pc doesn't recognize DigiVox tv tuner, and is it compatible with Windows7?
    Best regards, Uros

Yeh I've just tried using a signal booster but still no luck.
Tried moving the aerial around but it still doesn't receive them.
The aerial signal receives a perfect signal for the freeview box so I don't think it is the signal that is at fault.
    Thanks for helping

  • PSUS4 - problem with windows7

I am receiving the following print port setup error when trying to connect – AddPort Fail.I have a home network using a Linksys wag354G router , I am using the print server with a canon MP610 printer , two laptops with XP, one with vista & a new one with win7. The XP’s work fine, the Vista & win 7 recognise the printer, but tell me it’s off line when trying to print a test page.Any ideas please!
(Mod Note: Edited due to formatting concern.)

I have the same problem I found the solution
    1/Setup your PSUS4 with a fixe IP
2/install you printer divers on the client
    3/setup the printer port manualy
Open Control Panel in WIndows 7 and open the "Printers" folder. Right click on the "Printer Name" and click on Properties and below you need to click on "Add Port" and click on Next and in the next screen, click on "Create a new port". At the "Type of Port" prompt, use the drop-down and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click next.
Under "Device Type" use the drop-down and select "TCP/IP device". The Hostname or IP address for this device will be the address assigned in the Protocol tab on the administration web page. Click the box that will allow the O/S to query the printer for the appropriate driver and click "Next".
The "Additional Port Inforrmation" screen should open. Click on "Custom" and then "Settings". Protocol = LPR and LPR settings are: Queue Name = LP1 and check on "LPR Byte Counting Enabled". Leave "SNMP Status Enabled" unchecked. Click Ok

  • USIM APDU Problem on Windows7

    Hi,
i have a strange problem with "usim" command class on windows 7.
i make a software for reading data from sim cards (SIM and USIM) and before reading data, i check if the file 2F00 (EFdir) exist with GSM11.11 commands (A0 A4 00 00 02 2F 00).
if the file exist, i assume that is an USIM and switch to GSM31.102 (CF ETSI TS 102 221 doc).
    example of command/answer in XP:
    -> A0 A4 00 00 02 2F 00 #select 2F00 in gsm11.11 command
    <- 9F 0F # OK
#the file exist so i switch to gsm31.102 command
    -> 00 A4 00 04 02 3F 00 #select MF in gsm31.102 command
    <- 61 29 # send get response with 29 as P3.
    same commands in W7:
    -> A0 A4 00 00 02 2F 00 #select 2F00 in gsm11.11 command
    <- 9F 0F # OK
#the file exist so i switch to gsm31.102 command
    -> 00 A4 00 04 02 3F 00 #select MF in gsm31.102 command
    <- 6E 00 # class not supported
i don't know why it doesn't work in seven.
if the card doesn't support command class change during session why it work in XP ?
i was thinking about reseting the card before changing command class, but it seem that i need to wait about 10sec before reconnecting to the card or i still get 6E 00 error.
any idea about the problem source ?

    yes.
windows seven knows what a card is, and winxp does not.
when a smart card is inserted, win7 tries to load a driver for it, believing it's an auth card. This driver sends apdus, which conflict with your command. 6E00 is the reply from the command sent by windows (that obviously fails because the class is incorrect).
I had the same type of problems with opensc in firefox that scans all readers for cards, and prevent anyone from using a card from another program in the system. I lost 2 days on this before realizing that closing firefox (or removing opensc-pkcs11) made it :-)
You have to prevent windows seven from looking at cards. This may imply stopping a service. I don't know precisely what to do then.
    Anyone?
