FlashPaper2 Tries To Reinstall

Whenever starting Word or any software that has FlashPaper2
integrated - the install notification window opens - it opens and
closes 3 times then disappears.
I have tried to uninstall it but it states there is a file
missing - so cant uninstall. I get a fatal error when I try Repair
from Control Panel too!
Any clues on how to fix this challenge?

The backup could be corrupted .. try using the disk utility to verify and to fix it.
See A5 http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
You can also try restoring the whole backup to an external drive.
Pondini has a number of methods listed here.

Do not restore by wireless connection.. isolate the TC and use ethernet only.

  • Trying to reinstall OS 9.2 with Tiger

I recently reinstalled Tiger on my Mirror door G4. When I booted into Classic, it was missing many Control Panels and Apple Menu Items, like Mouse and Network Browser, and god knows what else. I'd like to boot into a complete version of OS 9 because I want to network to my old faithful G3 beige tower which is running OS 8.6. When I tried to reinstall OS9 using the disks that came with the Mirror Door, it said installation was complete after only 1 of the 4 disks and still missed critical components. Annoyingly, these disks do say that OS 10.2 needs to be on the hard disk running the installation disks. (Was the design of these original install disks really so short sighted?)

It turns out, according to Apple documentation, that you have to reinstall OS10.2 in order to install the OS9.2 on the original installation disks, and then reinstall Tiger. This sounds disastrous. Instead, I swapped out a system folder from a backup from before the last time I did a clean installation (which was in June). This seemed risky and potentially stupid, but not as stupid as reinstalling OS10.2. It turns out so far it's worked ok, although I did spend some time in Disk First Aid.

Hold the home and power button down until your phone restarts. If that doesn't work, backup and restore using iTunes.

The first thing you should do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. I suggest you install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. If you don't have the media, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able toauthorize it under your ID. In that case, contact iTunes Support.

I get error 7 (windows error 193) when trying to reinstall itunes on all my devices: computer, Iphone, Ipad Air.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I need a little help.  I changed the name of my imac to reflect it's new location, but inadvertently, when I saved the change, the system unchecked the "allow this account to administer the computer" so now I can't make any changes....  I tried to reinstall the OS, but it wants me to go online while installing and use my apple id, but this is not my iMAC, so I don't want to use my account.  Also, I am working in a building that will not allow me network access until I authenticate, which can't be done unless I open the browser first.  So I'm stuck at this point.  I can't even restore a time machine backup that I have because it gives the error message that the system encountered an error.  Any suggestions?

Hello everybody. I am trying to reinstall my Quicktime 7 Pro after having my MacBook OSX 10.5.8 cleaned out following a hacking. I have Quicktime player and I reregistered with the purchased registration code for Quicktime 7 pro. It seems to be successfully registered with "Quicktime 7 Pro" appearing under the inserted registration code but it is not showing in Applications folder and I do not know how to access it or what to do. Thanks for reading this. I hope you can help me. Aidan from Dublin, Ireland.

I am trying to reinstall Dreamweaver CS3 from the CD after having computer issues.  Now getting error "You can only install one Adobe product at a time.  Please complete the other installation before attempting to install ......."  There is no other Adobe product installing.  I have used the Adobe Cleaner Tool many times and uninstalled other Adobe Products but neither has worked.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled this CD version of Dreamweaver several times when changing computers and after having computer issues. A google search of the problem suggested it may be an error related to the number of times I can reinstall this product due to licensing issues.  Please help.

A google search of the problem suggested it may be an error related to the number of times I can reinstall this product due to licensing issues.
Absolutely not. You are misinterpreting things. The activation check never happens when just running the installer, only much later. It means what it says - there is another "install" pending/ active on your system, meaning somewhere there is an (invisible) process still blocking things. Either way, since you haven't provided any real technical info, we can't advise specifically. if you are on Windows, you may want to check your task manager and terminate any setup.exe and msiexec.exe processes plus potentially may need to manually fix/ delete some registry keys. For anything beyond that you will have to be much more specific.

  • I am trying to reinstall Snow Leopard on my iMac (Spring '08)...

I am trying to reinstall Snow Leopard on my iMac (Spring '08) and part way through the install my screen shuts off and does nothing but my computer is still running. I've turned it off, unplugged it and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I turn it back up and hold down "c" to boot from disk and the install screen pops back up. I do a disk check and it passes so I try to install again, which it says it can restore the last install's process and then begins installing again. After about 10-15 minutes my screen shuts off and goes to sleep, my mouse and keyboard will not wake it up. All I have plugged in is the mighty mouse and keyboard. This is getting frustrating...

    Reset the SMC

  • I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop CS4

I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop CS4 after I had a computer repair. I have my key and I downloaded the 2 files on the adobe dl page for CS4, There's a _LS1 file of 1,200 KB and a larger _LS2.7z file of 796M.  But when I double-click on the LS1 files, which says it's an application, I get an error message that says I need the 'other file', to download the 'other file' and make sure it's in the same directory. But I do have both LS1 and LS2.7z files in the same directory. Any suggestions?  Do I need something to extract the files?
    Thanks in advance!
