Flashplayer 11 in windows 8

I just bought new computer with flash player built into windows 8. I am unable to play games on pogo.com because it tells me I do nto have updated flashplayer. I have made sure player is enabled and have tried both in windows 8 view and desktop view and oth give me same message. Anyone have any suggestions?

Windows update is supposed to update the Flash Player for IE10. Personally, I don't use IE because it's 100% garbage disguised as a browser.
You can download an offline installer here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header
Me? I'd download Firefox and the Flash Player for it, and give up IE. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches by using a more sensible browsing application.

  • Adobe Flashplayer via Windows 8.

    Hello,
I need to install Adobe Flashplayer on Windows 8, but I cannot find the options Windows 8.
The higest options is Windows 7 64 bits en Windows 7 32 bits.
Hope someone has a solution for this.

For what web browser?  Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8 has Flash Player preinstalled; you don't need to (and cannot) install Flash Player manually.
For other browsers download the installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header

  • Installation flashplayer with windows 8.1 and IE 11 does not work

I have installed Windows 8.1 64 Bit and i am using IE 11 and flasplayer version 11.9.900.170.
All updates from Microsoft are installed.
Flashplayer videos are not displayed. If i switch to compatiblity mode in IE 11, the videos are displayed correct.
The tests of flashplayer with adobe website delivers different results as follows:

This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation (as you've seen) is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Flashplayer on Windows 8.1

I have Windows 8.1, IE 10 and Flashplayer 11.9. I was playing a game on Facebook and it kept freezing and had to be recovered. I decided to look around to see if I could find a problem. I checked my list of add ons and found Shockwave Flashplayer there, but it showed as disabled. I followed the Adobe instructions to click on enable and close. I check Active X to be sure it was unticked. I went back to try the game and now it will not load and tells me I need to install Adobe Flashplayer. I went back to my add-ons list and now the flashplayer add-on info has moved from the list of add-ons I am actively using to a list of all add-ons. I cannot get it to enable there or move back to the actively using list. Now all of the games I try to play on Facebook tell me I need to download Adpbe Flashplayer. Please help if you can.
Yesterday, it appeared on the add on list, but today it has moved back to the currently active add-ons, but stll diabled and games still saying i need flashplayer.
I have fixed mine. Evidently because I did not follow instructions exactly (I am old a tech disadvantaged) it did not fix the other times I tried. So follow Adobe instructions and all should be well. Thanks to all who read my message and possibly wanted to try to help.

    Try using Compatibility view: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

Save the file to your Downloads folder.
Open your Control Panel and click Uninstall A Program under Programs and Features.
Uninstall the Flash Player plugin from the list.
Close the Control Panel, reboot and run the installer from your Downloads folder.

  • Unable to download flashplayer on WINDOWS 8 Firefox v 18

I have set up a new Windows 8 64bit  Desktop with 2 Users.
    Both use Firefox.
One User - the administrator has no problem watching YouTube/ News videos etc.
The other User can click on videos but nothing shows or the video window flashes on and off.
A search shows Flashplayer is not available on the 2nd User's side.
Trying to use Firefox/Google to down load Flashplayer on the 2nd User side - the download works and the installation works up to 47%. I then get a message to close Firefox -  but Firefox is already closed. I stay in this loop of being told to close Firefox until I hit finish and cancel the installation.
I've tried this a couple of times
    Anyone any advice ?
    thanks

    Hello,
Just want to double check, 2nd user account got Administrator rights ?
Use Flash Player uninstaller to remove Adobe Flash Player completely (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html).
Download Adobe Flash Player and install it again (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer)

  • Won't Install on Windows XP Pro

Oh my gosh, I have tried everything! Flash Player simply
    won't install. What's the alternative?
The problem is on my Dell Inspiron Laptop. I am able to
install and use Flash Player on the other user accounts on my
laptop, but not on my user account. I have set all users to limited
and only me as the administrator. I have uninstalled all spyware
but McAffe, and I have stopped it from running. I have set all my
internet options to enable everything to the point my computer is
completely insecure. I have uninstalled Flashplayer, checked
Windows/System32/Macromedia to see it is gone. I have restarted my
    computer.
I have checked the registry key in Windows. It doesn't have
anything listed under permissions. But when I sign on as the other
user that Flashplayer downloads and works, the registry key
permissions are identical...empty. I've stopped every process,
every application possible. I've downloaded unsuccessfully,
uninstalled, restarted, and completed the process over and over
    again.
At this point I am completely compromising my computer just
to try to get Flashplayer to work.
Any ideas? This is so frustrating!

As suggested, I unistalled PSE 7; paused Kaspersky Internet Security program (I am not running any Norton/Symantec programs); and reinstalled from the original CD. The installation process (again) completed with apparent success. Nevertheless, the program will not load. It generates the same error messages as before:
    Error Signature
    AppName: photoshop elements 7.0.exe AppVer: 7.0.0.0 ModName: adobelmlnhr_libfnp.dll ModVer: 11.5.0.0 Offset: 00090804
Viewing "technical information about the error report" takes me to a lengthy screen and a reference to "C:\DOCUME~1\David\LOCALS~1\Temp\4f46_appcompat.txt" That file is very short:
    0 Photoshop Elements 7.0.0.0 Log (5) started 2009-01-06 20:16:05.950
0 (+ 0) Windows OS Version as reported by Qt: 0x30
    47 (+ 47) Desktop Resolution: 1024 x 768 Depth: 32
    47 (+ 0) RegisterConnect matched
The "Error Report Contents" lists "information about your process [that] will be reported." Unfortunately, I cannot copy and paste it into this message. The "Exception Information" is quite brief, however, and I re-type it below:
    Code: 0xc0000005 Flags: 0x00000000
    Record: 0x0000000000000000 /addressL 0x0000000001770804
I am running Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 3. My CPU is an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ = 2.21GHz. SysInfo reports 2.93GB of RAM.
    Any other suggestions?
