FlashPlayer installed, videos won't play

The site tells me
You have version 10,1,102,64 installed
Yet when I go to some sites like ABC News or Qwiki, videos do not appear. I briefly get a message that says I need to install the latest version of FlashPlayer, but as you can see above, it's already there. I've uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I'm using XP with service pack 3. Tried to visit Qwiki.com many times with IE, Safari and Firefox--no go on all counts. I'm suspecting a setting, as my other laptop with SP3 has no problems whatsoever. Any advice?

Hi, check with IE, Tools, Manage addons and make sure Shockwave Flash Object is listed and Enabled. With the non-IE browsers, look in plugins for Shockwave Flash (SWF) and make sure it is listed and Enabled.
If that isn't the issue, then I would Uninstall and Install again. Sometimes a glitch happens.

Just recently, videos won't play in any browser...Safari, Firefox. etc. It seems to happen with .wmv files. I reinstalled media player, but still have the problem.

First, check that Windows Media Player is set as the correct plug in - in Safari, go to help/installed plug ins. There should be a section marked 'Windows Media Player' showing 'application/x-mplayer2' and listing wmv files (amongst others).
Sometimes these arrors are caused by DNS failures. Ensure your system is fully up to date, and enter your ISP's DNS server IP addresses (usually two of them, sometimes three) in the 'DNS servers' box on the TCP page of the Network preference pane.
The DNS server IPs are usually supplied with the ISP's initial set up documentation, or located on the ISP's help page.
The reason it could be a problem is that in many iterations of MacOS X, the system is extremely sensitive to how quickly a DNS search responds. DNS is the process whereby a user-provided URL is converted into the correct IP address for internet lookup, so if the video source is held on a different server and the DNS process doesn't return a valid IP address in time, you would then get an error of the sort you describe.

I'm reinstalling mine, and seeing how that goes, cause I read on another thread that fixed a similar bug. I'll let you know how it goes.

It will play, but frequently stops or sound continues and picture freezes. I have noticed that if I continually move my mouse, it plays fine. All these videos play fine in IE and Chrome.

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

Certain youtube videos won't play in Firefox

Firefox 20.0.1, windows 7, flashplayer up to date.
Certain youtube videos won't play. The advert beforehand plays, and then the video just displays a black screen, no loading, trying to skip to a later time in the video doesn't work. It seems to be certain youtube users whose videos won't play, users whose videos I was able to watch only yesterday. The featured video on the user's channel is watchable, but not when opened separately.
IE won't show the affected videos either.

In addition to these symptoms, I've noticed that I can view these troubled videos on my cellphone just fine, but neither my XP or Win7 machine, which have all software updated can view. So if it was on youtubes side, it wouldn't work on my phone either.

I think it's your specific browser player problem. It works
here on every IE
in my Office. No problem at all...

I have video's and music video clips in itunes that will not play properly. there is audio. but green and orange lines on visual??I have synchronized with my ipod and these video's play perfectly . but still not in itunes????

Video playback can be messed up by a lot of different things. That article covers a lot of them.

Videos won't play after upgrading to ios7.1

Everything worked fine under ios7.0.4 and previous ios versions but videos won't play on YouTube or Facebook since upgrading to ios7.1. This is true for my ipad 4 and my wife's iPad mini. I have tried resets and reboots but did not help. May try to reinstall 7.0.4 unless someone has other ideas. All help appreciated.

You won't be able to install 7.0.4.
I have no problems playing YouTube videos on my iPad 4 or iPhone 5 using iOS 7.1.

Videos won't play on CBS, Fox, or NBC

For the last 48 hours I've been trying to watch Gotham on Fox.com from my iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2010)...no good. I was just watching it earlier this week, and for some reason when I try now it only has a black window (no error message). Videos won't play for me on NBC.com, Fox.com, or CBS.com on neither Chrome nor Safari nor Firefox. Randomly, ABC.com DOES work across all fronts.
Here is what I've tried:
-Restarting computer
-Refreshing constantly
-Reinstalling Chrome / Firefox
-Making sure Flash was updated
-Clearing all website data / caches / extensions
I even right clicked on the blank Fox video page, selected "Global Settings," and cleared all Local Storage Settings for Flash. NOTHING! I'm even starting to wonder if my roommate sabotaged my computer...that's how desperate I am on ideas.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

M2ts videos won't play

I just installed PSE 12 on a new computer and my m2ts videos won't play in the organizer. They do play in my pictures folder.

Now I have a new problem. Once I removed and re-installed Elements 12, I now get a message that my trial period has expired. What do I do about that? Now I can't even use Elements.
Based on prior history with this type of issue, there should be an option to "license this product" on the message. You say that there is not. There are 3 possible routes to take
1. Contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat who specializes in product activation. You would click on the following link

Once the link opens, click on the statement in the link "I still need help" in order to bring up the Adobe Chat.

3. You could go through the uninstall, ccleaner, reinstall drill again, with the reinstall with anti-virus and firewalls off.
We will work on the Elements Organizer 12 when the above is resolved.

Videos won't play in powerpoint when connected to projector

I've tried to find a solution for my problem online but haven't come across anyone with the same issue. I often work with powerpoint presentations with many videos in it. The videos play just fine on my laptop and also when hooked up to an external monitor, which I use when at work, both in slideshow mode and when previewing my animations. However, when I hook up my mac onto a projector the videos won't play - not on my laptop screen nor on the projected screen. I've tried rearranging the displays by draggin the menu bar to either display and also switched from mirror screens to presenter's view within powerpoint but nothing helped solve the issue. The only solution I found is to play the presentation on my windows partition - which is not really what I'm planning to do for long term...
I'm using Powerpoint 2011 for mac and this problem has occurred using multiple projectors.
Any help on how to solve this issue is highly appreciated!

I had the same problem today in front of an audience with 300 people (MacbookPro OSX 10.10, Thunderbolt-VGA adapter, PPT 14.4.6).
Here what I figured out so far:
1. It happens when you have PPT open and connect to beamer afterwards
2. You can resolve it (in my case) by quitting PPT and launching it WHEN connected to beamer
3. Yet, make sure Mac does not go into sleep mode or you get a lock-screen in the waiting time. if you do so, you get back to square 1. quit PPT again 2. restart it.
4. Also.... in one case I had to hit the volume control once to get the sound back even though movie was playing
So in short: Connect to beamer first, then launch PPT
I know it is only a symptom fix but it worked for me

It's for my mum, honest. Firefox 25, java and flash uptodate but the Mail Online videos won't play unless I start Firefox in safemode. A large white rectangle appears but nothing else.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
