FlashPlayer problem

Please help.  I cannot get the latest version of flash player to work. I am using IE8 -- windows 7 -- it is 64bit.
I have uninstalled flash player and reinstalled it.  I can see it under the control panel -- under programs, but it still won't work.  I bought my computer in March of this year.  Everything was working fine until the other day when they came out with the latest version of flashplayer.
Please help.
Thank you.

flash10h.ocx
flashinstall
flashplayer.xpt
flashUtil10h_ActiveX.dll
FlashUtil10h_ActiveX
FlashUtil10h_Plugin
NPSWF32.dll
I went to manage add ons and everything is enabled:
Shockwave Active X control - enabled - 11.5.6.606
Shockwave Flash object - enabled -- 10.1.53.60
I don't see the shockwave named the way you listed it.
It is still not working so what do I do next?
Thank you for all of your help this far.

  • Installing Adobe Flashplayer problem

    Hi
I am trying to install Adobe Flashplayer for use with IE11
I click on the Install button and the Initialization graphic starts. Then after a few seconds I get a message saying "If you are having problems click here".
But the actual download stops or stalls.
Could it be the Norton Firewall stopping it. If so I have search Norton for a way to allow the download and cannot see what might be effecting it.
    I use Windows 7
    IE v11
    Norton 360 Premier.

Two bugs, one affecting Apple's Mac platform and another attacking Microsoft's Windows, exploit certain Flash player vulnerabilities to install malware onto users' systems, reports ArsTechnica. While users of other operating systems like Linux have yet to report attacks, Adobe's advisory notes the exploit affects all platforms.
Designated as CVE-2013-0634, the first vulnerability targets the Safari and Firefox Web browsers running on OS X, and is also being used as a trojan to deploy Microsoft Word documents containing malware. For Mac users, the flaw affects Adobe Flash Player version 11.5.502.146 or earlier.
On March 1 Apple again blocked Flash Player for Lion and Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5660
The Adobe Flash patch can be found on Adobe’s website, and users can visit this page to check if their software is the most curent version.
You should uninstall any previous version first, and repair permissions after installing the new version.
If you still get a ‘plug-ins blocked’ message:

  • Adobe Flashplayer problem

Whenever I go to use something that requires Flashplayer (YouTube, Live Nation, etc.) on Safari, I am getting the error message to download the latest version of flashplayer. I have done this and redone it multiple times, but the videos, etc. still won't work on Safari. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted the computer, made sure that Java Script is enable, but am still getting the same message. I then checked to see if I had the same problem while using Google Chrome, but it is working just fine. I like Safari as my primary browser. Any suggestions on what might be going on?

I suspect your User Permissions may be off.
Run the #6 Step here and also the #12 OnyX cache cleaning routine for good measure.
Make sure to run all the OnyX cleaning and maintenance steps.
Step by Step to fix your Mac
Also read this, it might help clearing it's cache first, then uninstalling it, then reinstalling it once all the permissions have been fixed by the above steps.

  • FIREFOX 5 FLASHPLAYER PROBLEMS!

OMMMG this stuff is really irritating me i uninstalled flashplayer then tried to download it again and nothing worked! When i try to download flashplayer it says i have insuffiecient permission or whatever after where it is located as such C/WINDOWS/system32/Macromed/Flash then it says i have insufficient funds or whatever, this is reallly irritating and i need help fasst!!!!

Ok, I understand now.  Try the following
    download the FP uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html (save to disk);
    download the FP plugin installer from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html (save to disk);
    close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller;
    restart Windows;
    go to C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash and delete anything remaining in that folder;
    now run the downloaded installer.
If you still have problems, please post the contents of the FlashInstall.log file in the install folder.

  • Q? and Flashplayer problem amount to squat viewing online. Help!

I have been having an on going problem with Flashplayer, in that I stupidly, manually deleted version 7 (dragged the icon to the trash instead of uninstalling) and 8 will now not install (it installs from 15 items down to 4 items and then just stalls). Nor can I uninstall/re-install 7. (And of course I haven't heard back from THEM directly; an auto-response and 4 requests later...nada).
Then after updating to Quicktime 7.0.4, most/all? websites using QT come up with the Q?
I've looked at other discussions and tried a few things like deleting certain plug-ins, etc. but I don't want to screw it up further, and as you can probably tell, I don't know what I'm doing.
    Please this poor, not-so-joyful, sodette!

You might try downloading the Flash plug-in installer again just to make sure the last one wasn't "bad". Then if needed, restart in safe mode (hold down the shift key as the Mac is rebooting and keep it down until it says "Safe mode" on the startup screen) and try installing again.
If it still doesn't work, as a test, try a different browser such as Firefox ( http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ ) to see if it has the same result...
In which case, you could try pulling the Flash plug-in from the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder to the Desktop, re-install it and quit and launch a browser again.
You might also check to see if you have anything in your user home folder's Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder.
And then head to Apple menu > System Prefrences > QuickTime > Advanced > MIME settings and make sure the Flash media checkbox is off in "Miscellaneous" and that most other boxes -are- checked so that QuickTime will handle those media types.

  • Flashplayer problem in Windows 7 Pro.

I am trying to get the latest Flashplayer on a Windows 7 Pro laptop, running IE9. Several sites I visit tell me that I have an "old version". I deleted all Adobe files and cleaned the garbage from my laptop. When I try to get the latest version of Flashplayer, Adobe tells me I have no version on my computer. In the downlaod, Adobe then states " a newer version is already installed on this computer". The download is stopped at that point. No installation is done, either.
How can this be? Adobe, after doing a check of my system, shows nothing for Flashplayer on my laptop.
    What is wrong here?

    Hi,
There seems that the Flash Player is not uninstalled completely. Firstly click on the below URL and on that page, under "2. Find the version of Flash Player installed on your computer" check the version that shows. You may need to install the latest version that that.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Secondly, if this doesn't work, you may probably need to uninstall and delete certain files, follow the below link to completely uninstall:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315
After clean uninstall, restart the computer and install the latest version from the this link: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Revert back if you have any further queries.

    Thank you...

Hi Pat.  Thanks again for your response.  Called the Geeks, and they tell me the reason I can't download Flashplayer is because my suspicions were correct; I have to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Snow Lion, then download will proceed smoothly.  Thanks again.  It's SO helpful that non-tecnhnical people like me can receive answers on forums like this...

  • Novice with a flashplayer problem

When I try to dowenload Flash Player on my wireless laptop
through internet explorer, it prompts me to 'agree and install'.
When I do this it then says a message box will appear and a video
but it doesn't. This is stoppping me doing loads of stuff on my
laptop. I'm a complete novice when it comes to anything technical
so any advice would be good.
    Thanks Della

Assuming that the files you get from that service are actually legit mp3 files and not some sort of proprietary protected format, you can click File -> Add Folder to Library, and just browse to the folder on your harddrive the files are being stored in, select it and hit okay. The files should then appear in your library and then on your iPod once you sync it.

  • Flashplayer installation problem

Using Win 7 64 and Firefox.  Don't have latest Flashplayer.  When I try to install latest version Flashplayer, exe screen opens but is totally black.  Can't complete installation.
    Anyone able to help?

Your post is helpful inasfar as I can download Flashplayer, but...
The problem I am having is that Firefox wants the latest version to show vids embedded in websites.
I learned from elsewhere on this forum (FLASHPLAYER PROBLEM) that the latest version of Flashplayer has problems with Firefox.  And, though some say I need the latest version of RealPlayer to work, that hasn't worked for me.
It seems either Firefox needs to upgrade, or Adobe needs to work with Firefox to resolve.
But, it seems more like Adobe as now I'm finding the most recent Skype install won't work as it's linked to the latest Flashplayer.
If you can come up with solutions, that'd be great.
    Cheers

  • Windows 8.1 and Desktop IE11 | Youtube fullscreen mode crashing on Flashplayer

    Hello
I have problem with flashplayer on desktop IE11. When i try to toogle between normal size mode video on youtube to fullscreen my IE11 crash on flashplayer problem.
I have flashplayer add-on enabled and ActiveX filtering too.  And even your website wrote me that i dont have instaled flashplayer on my system or in browser (tried from desktop IE).  I tried download solution for windows 8.1 on your website but it doesnt work cuz its only system update and i already have it. And others doesnt work too cuz i have integrated flashplayer for Metro IE in my system from updates.
I want to use my desktop IE instead of metro IE. Can you help me pls? In metro IE it works normaly.

Well, if you're an IT guy, then you should know..
IE is a Microsoft product - Adobe can't fix it. Only Redmond can, and they've given NO indication that they're in a hurry to do anything about IE11, which has caused widespread problems with Yahoo, Facebook, BBC, CBC, ESPN, NBA and NFL websites to name just a few.
IE is the ONLY browser left on earth using ActiveX controls (circa 1993) which EVERYONE else abandoned twelve years ago - they cause more problems than they solve - Adobe can't fix that.
Microsoft modifies and embeds the Flash Player plugin for IE in Windows 8 and 8.1. Adobe writes the base code and does collaborate with Redmond on updates and fixes, but the Win 8 plugin for ActiveX is Microsoft's baby once it goes into the browser. If they screw it up, it's gonna be their fix.
Most of the web will be using HTML5 for video by the end of 2016. YouTube has already converted the majority of exisiting pages, and the code's already in place for new uploads, to automatically determine if Flash is installed and switch to HTML5 if it isn't detected. DailyMotion and Yahoo are doing the same, but not as fast or far along as Google. With the majority of web user on smartphones, Flash will see less and less use as time goes by. Adobe is aware of this. Knowing that aside from games, Flash will be almost non-existent in two years, just how eager do you think they are to develop new and better versions of it? They've dropped Linux development except for security fixes. Android dropped support last year, and Adobe ended security developments for Android Flash Player in September.

  • Minor individually, but overwhelming in fact, problems.

Recently I have been suffering minor but very irritating problems on my Mac Mini. I fully appreciate that they may, or may not, be connected but I am unable to decide this or resolve them. This is a plea for help by someone more knowledgeable.
1.Firefox is very unstable on starting (Version 3.0.4) Simply trying to open the Home Page causes it to hang, it then usually goes "blue screen, the Desktop opens again after a few seconds. Crash Reports have been sent to Mozilla. It usually, but not always, performs properly thereafter for that day.
    2. Using "System Services - Shut Down" sometimes doesn't function. Generally no message opens, just no Shut Down. Occasionally I get a message box drop down saying roughly " Mirror Agent prevented Shut Down. Please close Mirror Agent and try again". I have no idea what Mirror Agent does or where it is in the system ( I have searched via FIND and SPOTLIGHT without a successful outcome, and am obliged to switch off the power to overcome the problem.
    3. There have been other oddities like the Firefox Icon in the Dock suddenly changes to become the HD Icon - Icons become fractured into abstract forms, multi-coloured versions of the Desktop lozenge.
    4. I have been a subscriber to a Crossword facility with the Daily Telegraph newspaper for over a year without having any trouble accessing and printing the puzzles. For the past three days their webpage has failed to fully open. It gets 98% of the way, then reverts to a white screen, blank page mode, hangs with the beach-ball displayed, then into "Not responding" mode requiring Force Quit action. This is true with any of three Browsers, Firefox 3.0.4, Safari 3.2., or Camino 1.6.5. I have consulted with the Daily Telegraph, they are able to access my account by logging in as me and could only suggest Flashplayer problems as a cause. Installed the latest version Fp 10, no change.
    5. Have run Disc Utility - Verify and Repair Disc Preferences, the only thing of any note was this line entry: "parent directory./Users/Shared/SC Info does not exist".
My apologies both for the length and dim-wittidness of all this, but badly need help and guidance if possible. Thank you.
    Brian Hope

    Hello again Barry,
You may want to reconsider your final paragraph. You refer first to the Software Instal Disc, I have the Mac OSX Install DVD and the Mac mini Mac OSX Instal Disc. Do you mean the former only? I tried this yesterday and found that apaparently if I clicked on Install it would proceed with that task, which is what I was afraid of. Clarification would be appreciated.
Having failed there, I followed Rachel's advice to install the 10.4.11 Combo update. That happened o.k. but of course it demands a restart, I said o.k. and then had the blue screen of death. Absolutely nothing showing, no reaction to the mouse or other keys, nada. Obviously only had the switch off option and tried this three times with no change. Left it for an hour and tried again and that worked, to my immense relief. Scary, but it has remained steady ever since, other than the Firefox problem which caused it to crash again this morning. Was able to Shutdown in the proper way last night so some good seems to have come from it. Need to be sure of what I'm doing on the next effort.
    Thanks
    Brian.

  • Firefox is constantly freezing up, and I can't get it going again until I close pluginscontainer.exe which, when freezing, is quite large (sometimes even as big as 300MB). What is causing this? It seems to happen on pages with Flash.

I have already tried reinstalling Firefox, using both the BETA and Stable releases. I've cleared all of my plugins and started over with them, reinstalling Flash multiple times as well. After an uninstallation, I even went as far as deleting Mozilla from my Appdata folder on my user account and from Program Files to assure complete uninstallation.
This crash happens multiple times in a day, I can't go 20 minutes of browsing without this happening.
Also, there are multiple instances of plugin-container.exe running (right now, 5).
Thank you so much for your help, this issue has been driving me up the wall and I just could not get it to stop.

There is a known issue where multiple instances of plugin container open if history or cookies are cleared. Are you, or some utility clearing firefox cookies or history, that could be the reason. This problem continues even if plugins are disabled in Firefox.
*Are you opening multiple instances of Flash Player ?
    * Is the problem reproducible ? <br/> for instance does it always crash the plugin or cause it to hang if you use a particular site ?
If you get the FlashPlayer plugin crashing use the option to submit the crash reports, it is then possible to follow them up. It is possible to stop the plugincontainer opening, but that could result in a firefox crash. Of course the firefox crash can also send crash reports out, and that could be useful.

Sometimes using Firefox 3.6 is a workaround that helps with FlashPlayer problems, if you wish to experiment with that consider installing firefox Portable and using Firefox 3.6.23 (or soon 3.6.24) for tests with flash player, whilst keeping firefox 7 for day to day browsing.

  • I have been using extensions with V8 for several weeks and with last Firefox update this morning all are gone and I can't get them going again!

I installed V8.0.1 several weeks ago (or what I thought was V8.0.1) and got Awesome Screenshot (A.S.). Although it was stated that AS was not compatible with V8.0.1 I installed it any way and it worked. I have been using it every day until this morning. Another Firefox update came down this morning. Although I clicked the “Update Later” box, it updated at that time anyway. (This has happened every time I received an update in the past and clicked “Update Later” box, but that another problem; not the issue today.) After today’s update completed and I restarted Firefox. I check the version and it still was V8.0.1. All of my extensions were gone. I followed the instruction for re-enabling. All of the extensions were marked “disabled”. Only two of them had “enable” buttons (Garmin Communicator and InvisibleHand), both of which I didn’t load nor use. All extensions had “Remove” buttons. Is there any way for me to get A.S. working, I use it often. If not, how about “Screengrab”. That’s better than nothing.
I am using Windows XP Professional SP3.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Advert does not display in Virginmedia Homepage with IE9

Flashplayer is installed and seems to be working but in Virginmedia.com Homepage there is a blank space where there should be an advert using IE9. Using Firefox the advert displays as it should. If I open Ancestry.co.uk in IE9 I get one of those yellow warning bars telling me "Add-on for this web site failed to run" and once again there is a blank space where there should be an advert that again displays as it should in Firefox.
The odd thing is that Flashplayer seems to be working and is enabled in Manage Add-ons. I really don't want to have to use Firefox and all my settings in Internet Options seem to be OK. (My daughter doesn't have any problems with her computer and we compared settings that seem to be the same).
Could this be a Flashplayer problem or does anyone have any suggestions please?

Hi Judesman, I'm late getting on the Forum today. Are you saying that there are that many addons from SpywareBlaster in your browser?
I have researched SpywareBlaster and have a very negative opinion on it. It is very intrusive and would never have it on my system nor recommend it to anyone.
Microsoft Security Essentials is a free Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware program. It does not install any addons into the browser and is very light on resources and easy to use. It does not contain a Firewall, but Windows Firewall works well.
I would go here and download it but SAVE it to your Desktop.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security_essentials/default.aspx
Then I would go to this website which is very good and follow the procedures to Uninstall SpywareBlaster.
When it is Uninstalled, then Reboot(restart) your computer.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/uninstall/2208/SpywareBlaster-v3.5.1.html
Then I would Close all browser windows, Run to Install MSE(Microsoft Security Essentials) when it is finished Installing I think it will update and run a scan. If not, you can do that from the Home page.
This will give you good protection along with your IE browser.
If you have any questions, let me know. Keep in mind that this is just a suggestion on my part. I use MSE and it has been able to prevent malware and also removing it.
    Thanks,
