Flashplayer & Reader via internen Update Server

Hallo liebe Community,
Configure the server
1.In your server root, create the following path structure:/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/fp-major-version/, where fp-major-version is the current major version of Flash Player (for Flash Player 11.4, the major version is 11).
USD_GOE

Try rebooting your router and or cable modem. Unplug it/them for about 30 seconds and then plug back in. See if it works then. Reboot your iPad as well.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Your issue is completely different. You are running Snow Leopard. There is no download for Windows Support software for Snow Leopard, hence the error you see. Snow Leopard Windows Support software is on the Snow Leopard installation disk.
You need the Snow Leopard installation disk or a replacement for it.

The iphone software update server could not be contacted" - error message recieved when i try to update to 5.1.1 via itunes , what can i do ?

    Dear Lawrence Finch:
If you're still around I hope you see this message, as you're the FIRST person (after reading every link, thread, other sites, apple support articles, etc.) to mention JB may be causing this iTunes popup window to REPEATEDLY occur:
"The iPhone software update server could not be contacted."
No, I did not hack anything (are you kidding?  Grannies don't hack!), but I unknowingly bought a 3Gs iOS 3.1 from ebay that was not advertised as JB.  Since it is like brand new, I was going to keep it (because my old backup is iOS 3.1.2) & was trying to simply restore & update, which (I thought) would remove the JB (that's what everybody says at forums, etc).
Instead, after "erasing all settings/content" (inside phone's Settings to get the prior person's name out of there), it is now stuck in White Apple Mode.
Put it in DFU/Recovery Mode & connect to iTunes but that stupid above message keeps appearing & I have already read/tried EVERYTHING to get rid of that message, starting with:
    1.  OLD phones (3Gs) with OLD iOS 3.1+ should work FINE with OLD Mac (iBook) with OLD OSX (Tiger 10.4.11) with OLD iTunes (9.2.1[5]).  So that can't be the problem.
Here's all the other things apple & others say to check which I already checked:
    2.  USB ports are FINE, both work FINE, so that's not the problem.
    3.  No "extra USB devices" are connected, ONLY a mouse, & then the phone (yes, I tried it w/o the mouse connected but that didn't help).
    4.  No "usb hubs."
    5.  Latest iTunes for this OSX has already been DL'd (iTunes 9.2.1[5]).  If you know of a newer one for this OSX, please advise.
    6.  No antivirus software.
    7.  No security software.
    8.  No routers; only 1 comcast modem, period.  Wired Ethernet.
    9.  No wifi gadgets, no wifi at all.
    10.  No firewalls, except what is on iBook in the SHARING/System-Prefs. section.  It's turned OFF.
    11.  Did the hosts/terminal thing sudo nano whatever it was.  There were only 3 lines, NO gs.apple.com:
    xxxxx local host
    xxxxx broadcast host
    xxxx local host
Oh, & btw, ATT officially unlocked this phone (after I filled out their online forms) but I can't finish the process via iTunes to get their Confirmation that "Device is Now Unlocked," so I can use T-Mo.
So that's it.  If you have any other ideas of what to do from here, since from your comment, maybe it's the stupid JB on this phone that is causing the problem (???), please advise.
    Many thanks!

  • Deploy reader updates and install/uninstall reader via GPO ???

    Hello,
Got a couple of questions on install/uninstall via GPO and how to deploy reader updates.
    1) How to uninstall older version of readers via GPO?
    2) Is there an ADM file available for installing the latest reader via GPO?
    3) For reader patch updates, can it be deployed via GPO?  If yes, any docs. I can refer to?  If no, what is the minimum priviledge I must grant to domain users to allow them to run the update function w/in the reader (or assign to a specific file path)?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Directing to internal update server via overrides file

    Hi all,
I have my internal update server up and running, and am now working on creating an AAMEE built .pkg installer for my organization. One of my goals is to use an internal update server, as defined by an override file indicated during the AAMEE build.  I've read over the AAMEE Guide V3.0 pg 121-122 a few times, but I'm still having trouble translating the example code to my world.
I'm having trouble translating 2 things:
    1) in the example, it's --root="/serverroot/updates/Adobe/CS"  This does not mirror the serverroot of my AUSST folder hierarchy. I have /serverroot/updates/oobe .  Should this concern me?
    2) similar issue with --url="http://serverabc.example.com:1234/Adobe/CS".  In my serverroot, there are 2 folders: updates and webfeed.
What's the bottom line goal of the overrides file- to point at the /documentroot/oobe/aam[1|2]0/[mac|win]/updaterfeed.xml file?  Did I totally just make that up?

    Hi Syuroff,
In this case, you should use the root as /Volumes/Drive2/AUSST_Updates/updates/oobe and the url you need to specify should point to this location. For example if http://serverx:8080 points to /Volumes/Drive2/AUSST_Updates then you need to specify the url as http://serverx:8080/updates/oobe. If you allow directory browsing, then you can verify that the URL http://serverx:8080/updates/oobe points to /Volumes/Drive2/AUSST_Updates/updates/oobe. Once you ensure this, you have to run
    AdobeUpdateServerSetupToolCS5 --root="/Volumes/Drive2/AUSST_Updates/updates/oobe"
and select appropriate option to sync with Adobe Update Server. Once this step is completed, you will see two folders namely updates and webfeed created under /Volumes/Drive2/AUSST_Updates/updates/oobe location. Now you can run another command to generate the client config file:
    AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool2.0  --genclientconf="/Volumes/Drive2/AUSST_Updates/updates/oobe/config"
                                                           --root="/Volumes/Drive2/AUSST_Updates/updates/oobe"
                                                           --url="http://serverx:8080/updates/oobe"
As mentioned in my earlier post, this command will create a folder named config under /Volumes/Drive2/AUSST_Updates/updates/oobe/config
location. This folder will contain all the override files for both Mac and Windows.
Let me know if this answers your query.
    Thanks,
    Abhishek | [email protected]

  • Got Display driver via Windows Update for Windows 8.1 and try to use it for Windows Server 2012 R2

    Hi Everyone,
the following driver cab is from Windows Update:

    It includes this display driver:
    Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)
My problem is: I can't install this driver on Windows Server 2012 R2.
I tried the following, nothing worked:
    a) pnputil -i -a intel.cab
    b) Extract cab, update the device's driver in device manager, select "search for driver software in this location"
    c) copy the files in system32/, system32/drivers, syswow64/ from a Windows 8.1 system to a Windows Server 2012 R2 system
Isn't it true that any Windows 8.1 driver should also work for Windows Server 2012 R2 (same os version)?
    Thanks for your replies.

  • Problem with internal update server

    Hello everybody,
after setting up an Adobe Update Server that works fine with updates for CS6,I would like to use this update server for additional Adobe software like Flash Player and Reader.
I think I made every steps as mentioned in the administration guide of flash player: http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/flashplayer/pdfs/flas h_player_11_6_admin_guide.pdf
    Which means:
I can access the URL: "http://SERVERNAME/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/11/install/" with its 3 *.z files (install_all_mac_pl_sgn.z,install_all_win_ax_sgn.z,install_all_win_pl_sgn.z) and "http://SERVERNAME/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/11/xml/"  that contains the version.xml-file.
I've also added the mms.cfg file with UTF-8 and the content:
    AutoUpdateDisable=0
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1
    SilentAutoUpdateServerDomain=SERVERNAME
    SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging=1
Unfortunately there aren't any updates for my test-client.I read something that with these options the "Update Section" in the "Advanced"-tab should be greyed out, but it isn't.And if I'm going to click "Check now" my browser is opening the Adobe homepage.
The problem is that we can't use any WSUS  for this scenario. So we have to deploy the mms.cfg-file by copying it to the clients manually (maybe via batch-file later).
    That's the first problem.
The second one is that we would like to update the Adobe Reader via the same update server. But I didn't find any guide on how to solve this.
    Following information regarding our scenario:
AUSST is running on a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP2 with IIS6
Created a new website "Adobe Update Server" and added the handlers for xml, sig, crl, dmg (I had to remove the handler for zip after having problems with it) and added these handlers in the <httpheader>-Section of the webconfig.
Created a new folder with the structure: pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/11/ install and xml.
Installed Flash Player 11.3 on my test-client
Allowed extensions: All unknown ISAPI-extensions,Active Server Pages,ASP.NET v1.1.4322,ASP.NET v2.0.50727,Front Page Server Extensions 2002,Serversided includes (SSI),WebDAV
I know that I maybe allowed too much extensions because my knowledge with Server 2003 isn't that well.
Sorry for my bad english,I've also tried to open a discussion in the german section but there wasn't any reply yet.
It would be great if there is anybody who could help me with my problems because this features are some kind of "must-have" and I would like to take this big step.
I appreciate every help and post in this discussion as I'm kinda stuck with these problems.
    kind regards

  • HOW TO: Your very own Adobe Update Server (Windows)

Well, I thought I'd contribute something after wasting time sifting through info on how to get this done. It's not a hard process at all, once the steps get organized correctly.
If you are reading this post, you most likely have already seen:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/packager/update-server-setup-tool.html
Maybe you’ve seen the dry (read: hard to stay awake and boring) video Adobe has posted as well and yet here we are… I found the materials Adobe provided informative yet riddled with inconsistencies and scatter brained writing. This guide will get you to a working install with minimal pain and effort. I’m sure plenty of you have Mac’s that you’d like to get running as an update server. Good luck, we’re a pc shop and that’s what this guide is going to be on. You can still update Mac’s with a windows based server. Mac users that want to setup an update server on a Mac will have to try and endure that video.
I like complaining about things, so if you want the relevant info, I bolded it. If you need to change the command to fit your system, I highlighted the relevant section in red. You’re welcome.
    Requirements:
Windows Operating System 64-bit (just so the file structure makes sense, if you are running 32-bit, that’s fine, but you’ll need to make the necessary changes to my write-up.)
The requirements for CPU, Memory, and hard-drive free space are minimal (My freshly sync’d update directory is only 30.2GB). I’m going to lean on the safe side and say leave a few hundred gigs free on the hard-drive. All you are doing is making a file store that can be accessed via http from your clients. Any modern day computer can be your host. Have hundreds of client computer that will be downloading from your update server? That’s up to you on how you will want to handle it. Do DNS load balancing across multiple update servers, deploy different override files to different groups of clients that point those groups of clients to different servers, or use sas drives and team multiple gigabit Ethernet ports. I’m sure you’ll figure something out to handle your particular situation. I am just going to focus on a simple step-by-step to get you on your way.
Step 1: Install Creative Cloud Packager
This was the first thing that wasn’t clear to me. I’m new to Creative Cloud for Teams. I have 20 computers and knew that updating would be an issue with our internet connection. I intuitively searched for a way to set up an update server and came across the article linked earlier. “Note: AUSST is available in the utilities folder of Adobe® Creative Cloud™ Packager installation.“ Oh, that’s nice. No link. No help on where to get it…
You can grab the download from your “Manage Your Team” control panel. It’s on the right side under “IT Deployment”. Download it, install it. This how-to isn’t about packages and how awesome they are for deployment or how to use them. So close the packager when you are done installing and move on to step 2.
Step 2: Create a root directory to store all of your updates.
I think it’s safe to assume that the root directory will only grow in size over time, so put it somewhere with a few hundred gigs of free space. The cloud is still young but I expect that amount to last you a while. To keep this easy, I created my directory as such:  G:/CreativeCloudUpdate
Step 3: Run the AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool for the initial sync
Open up command prompt as an administrator and type the following:
    cd "c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP\utilities\AUSST"
    AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool --root="G:/CreativeCloudUpdate" --fresh
When it is done updating, leave the command prompt up, you’ll need it again.
Step 4: Create the client config file
For whatever reason, the AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool can’t create a config folder. So you’ll have to make it yourself if you want this to work.
Go to G:/CreativeCloudUpdate and create a folder called   config
Head back over to the command prompt and type the following:
    AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool --genclientconf="G:/CreativeCloudUpdate/config/AdobeUpdaterClient" --root="G:/CreativeCloudUpdate/" --url=http://192.168.1.4/
If this worked, you should get something like the following:
    “Generate Client Configuration XML chosen.
    Files generated at specified path.”
Double check to make sure the files are generated inside the G:/CreativeCloudUpdate/config directory.
Step 5: Setup the Web Server
We’ll use Apache 2.2 for this setup. Yes, I am aware 2.4 is out, and 64-bit is available and that there are different web servers and and and. If you want to set something else up, go for it, be my guest, but you won’t find compile or update directions here. Also, if you want to use IIS, again, go for it. I didn’t find anything wrong with the directions in the very first link in this post. Remember, this guide is simplicity focused. I expect you to know how to keep your own network up to date.
ALLOW PORT 80 THROUGH WINDOWS FIREWALL OR ANY OTHER FIREWALL SOFTWARE YOU ARE RUNNING ON THE SERVER!
    Download and install the following:
    http://mirror.metrocast.net/apache//httpd/binaries/win32/httpd-2.2.25-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi
You can keep all of the defaults during install.
Once installed, you’ll have a little feather and play button in your system tray. Double click on that to bring up the server monitor. STOP the process.
    Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\conf
Open up httpd in a text editor like notepad, you’ve got a little editing to do. Do a search and replace. You’ll want to find EVERY OCCURANCE of the following sentence:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs
And replace it with the following sentence:
    G:/CreativeCloudUpdate
Save the file. Go back to the Apache server monitor and start the process.
    Step 6: Setup the Clients
The file is located here: G:\CreativeCloudUpdate\config\AdobeUpdaterClient\win
    And here: http://192.168.1.4/config/AdobeUpdaterClient/win
    It is called: AdobeUpdater.OVERRIDES
And it needs to end up here on the client computers:
    In Windows XP:
    \Documents and Settings\All Users\ApplicationData\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\AdobeUpdater.Overrides
    In Windows 7/Vista:
    \ProgramData\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\AdobeUpdater.Overrides
    In Mac OS X:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0/AdobeUpdater.Overrides
It is your choice concerning how to get the overrides file onto the client computer. THE BEST WAY is to include it in the package you deploy from the Creative Cloud Packager(not covered in this guide). If you already have Creative Cloud installed and want to start updating via the server you just setup: You could use group policy to deploy the file. If you only have a handful of computers, you could put it on by hand. You could script it. You could email it to all your users and tell them to place the file. Pick whatever you feel will work best for you in your environment.
IF you are just deploying the Creative Cloud in your environment and were smart enough to think ahead and setup the update server FIRST. Look up (If you have to, it’s really intuitive) how to use the package manager and make sure to change the package configuration to use this overrides file.
Step 7: Check for and download updated files to your update server
To manually do this, open up command prompt as an administrator and type the following:
    cd "c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP\utilities\AUSST"
    AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool --root="G:/CreativeCloudUpdate" --incremental
To do this automatically you need to make a scheduled task to run the command above. The only issue I have run into is the task does not seem to run unless you are logged into the server. If no-one is logged in, the task triggers, but an update never happens.
All in all, I am happy that there was a way to do this. I AM NOT HAPPY that Adobe made it an after thought. A system service would have been a very elegant solution or you know, a simple custom server app that does everything in this guide for you AND makes it easy to run the incremental updater on a schedule. But noooooo, they couldn’t be bothered to do that, I mean really, who wants their own update server anyways…

    Hi,
in relation to on to the above could you please share some thoughts on using AUSST in an enterprise environment spread over 50 countries i relation how to setup the AUSST, taking WAN Lines into considerations. We are using SCCM for application deployment and patching. Is there a comparising model for AUSST vs. SCCM?
i Get the picture using AUSST in a company with one huge Building using the LAN capacity, but what technologies are used to replicate over WAN etc?
