  • Flashplayer will not install. I have completed the automatic and manual installation numerous times but Firefox still says it is missing.

I have installed the Adobe Flashplayer 10.3 add-on numerous times, both manually and automatically. However, Firefox will not recognize the installation. How can I remedy this problem?

There's two different versions of Flash. One for IE and another for most other browsers.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

  • FlashPlayer will not install on Vista (HP PC)

Weeks ago another application identified need for FlashPlayer
which I have attempted to install many, many times to no avail. I
am the Admin (single user only), ActiveX settings checked time
& time again, pop-ups not blocked, IE level set to Medium,
Norton 360 settings no longer applicable for transaction, updates,
    protection & pop-ups.
Then QuickBooks 2007 company file cannot be found &
restoring company files did not work perhaps because FlashPlayer
must first be installed??. While considering uninstalling
QuickBooks, I saw where FlashPlayer was installed, so I removed it
but was unaware at the time that FlashPlayer has it's own removal!!
What is the work-around when FlashPlayer is removed incorrectly??
Possibly this may be why install will not work?
Also how does one close all web browsers & yet continue
to retain the Installation Process Sceen? Closed all and that ended
the install; retained MSN access but still no installation though
attempted many times over & over again, rebooting each
time....to no avail! Only a novice would ask that question!
Any and all suggestions welcome! Need for QuickBooks to be
    working yesterday.

Success at last though I am not certain why or what. With IE7
ActiveX previously set correctly to no avail, I finally disabled
Norton 360 & ensured Pop-Ups o.k. for Adobe site only. Though
it took more than one attempt, FlashPlayer finally installed. Note:
While attempting on a 32 bit, I would see where installed in
Programs & then it disappeared - totally after reboot.
    Persistance pays!
As to using Firefox, I have not had time to install &
experiment - perhaps one of these days there may be time to install
& learn to use! Until then, if IE7 is supposed to work with
FlashPlayer & it finally does, I want IE7 to perform; it
finally does though many hours of frustration in doing so.

  • Adobe Flashplayer will not install

I am trying very unscussefully to install Adobe Flashplayer.  I operate on Windows 7!  I kept getting eroor messages on "social network" sites that I needed Flashplayer.  Well, I had (operative word) Flashplayer.  After several times of errors "installing it", I de-installed the existing one!  NOW, I cannot get any version to install.  If I have to, I can use "restore" but that is NOT really acceptable.  What is going on and why is this product not installing?  I do NOT want any "add on" things like Google Chrome or any other products.  I simply want this product properly installed and functioning on my computer!  HELP!

Click Start, type msconfig.exe, press Enter, click Selective startup, uncheck Load startup items. Click Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, click Disable all, click Ok, click Restart.
How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?
    After the install.
Click Start, type msconfig.exe, press Enter, click Normal startup, click ok, click Restart.

  • Flashplayer will not install in windows 7, 32 bit.  why is that?

Have tried and tried to get flashplayer update to install.   I continue getting message I must exit Internet Explorer.  Sometimes it appears it has installed (FINALLY), but then everytime I try to view files using it, get a message I must install it.  Why is that?  This is very annoying and frustrating.  I've never had this problem with any other updates!

  • Lion will not install, says HD must be extended (Journaled). The HD is extended

I cannot install Lion because the dialog box says my HD is not Mac OS Extended(Journal). I look at the hard drive in disk utility. It appears to be an Mac OS Extended. Do you have to turn journaling, if so how?
    Thanks,
    Bill Wallace

    # sudo diskutil enableJournal <device>
Edit: Should have added that you need to use Terminal.app. You will need to find the device name first.

Find the volume name you want to use, and use that device for the above command.
In my case, I would use (note it was already enabled for my disk):
    # sudo diskutil enableJournal /dev/disk0s3

  • 7.1.3 will not install, Says I have a "Newer Version", but none installed!

    Okay,
As I'm sure most people have noticed, the new build of iTunes is not running smoothly. I've tried to install the updated build but it wouldn't work. It installed iTunes and the New Quicktime. It failed to open. So I do what apple tells me to: Try re-installing it.
But after uninstalling both to try and reinstall, iTunes won't install quicktime anymore. And when I try to use the standalone Quicktime installer, it tells me that I cannot install because I have a newer version than 7.1.3 on my computer! And when I install iTunes (without it installing quicktime, on it's own mind you)and then open it, it says I must have Quicktime installed to use it. Even my Quickitme plugins for my internet don't work!
I know this is impossible. And I've tried to rectify it every way I know how. Delete the remaining files in Windows and Program Files, use the Windows Installer Clean Up tool, try re-installing in safe mode, BUT NOTHING WORKS! I'd really like to use the new iTunes but I can't do anything with it untill I fix the quicktime problem.
If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated. Thank you.
    ~JYH

    Rob,
There is no quicktime folder there. And no quicktime program is installed when I try to install iTunes. The only reason I tried installing quicktime in standalone was because the itunes install was not actively going to the quicktime part of its installation.
I've tried removing everything and only installing iTunes. But even after deleting the physical files, using the WIndows Install cleanup tool, and cleaning up my registry, the quicktime portion of the iTunes install doesn't complete, and I keep getting "unknown" errors from the crash prevention program, and from what I can see it's because there's no physical Quicktime program installed.
As for other accounts, no I cannot start it up with other accounts, I keep getting the "Unknown" error and there is no physical files for quicktime anywhere.
And selective startup doesn't seem to work as there is NO qttask option when I run selective startup.
So, I seem to be out of options, and thing else I could try?
    ~Jay

  • ITunes 64 will not install: says needs Quicktime, which *is* installed

    This is what I've done:
    Deleted temp directory
    Restarted
Uninstalled iTunes and Quicktime, through Windows Add/Remove programs
    Deleted temp dir
    Restarted
    Installed Quicktime (from QuickTimeInstaller.exe,  v7.69.80.9)
    Deleted temp dir
    Restarted
    Ran iTunes 64.msi, v10.4.0.80
Received the message, "Installation was not successful. iTunes requires Quicktime".
This was my fourth attempt this evening. Not happy with Apple, right now. Can anyone suggest another approach that works?
    Thanks!

Exactly my problem. Very frustrating. It bricked my wife's iphone. She was not happy. I'll never update itunes or the iphone again!
    Apparently what happened is this...
I plugged her iphone into the pc.
    Itunes then updated the iphone.
Next, Itunes wanted to update itunes, but I kept getting the above Error.
So, I installed the Windows installer cleanup utility as the other posts say to do.
Then I deleted itunes with the cleanup utility.
    Still, I get the error.
But finially, and here is the Solution...
Use the installer cleanup utility to delete any itunes things listed.
Apparently the Iphone update installer was the problem... Delete It with the cleanup utility!
    Hooray!
Thanks Apple for this horrible hassle!

  • 3rd party app will not install-Says to install AIR but it is already installed

I am trying to install two desktop apps using AIR. One is tweetdeck.com and the other is twirl.com When I click the icon to download I get:
Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR.  The thing is AIR is installed. I even reinstall AIR and try again, same thing. I am running Vista Pro 64 bit. I have the exact same setup at home and I am not having this problem it is only happening on my work machine. How can I check the see if air is installed properly?

That can happen if you have a copy of an ML installer for earlier version - 'Install OS X Mountain Lion' , also if
    /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist
is giving info to software update/app store which makes it seem that an update is needed.
If you've no copy of the Installer, see what that plist contains... Textedit can open them, usually; or Quicklook will show you what's inside.
    Here, for 10.8.3, it contains:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"><plist version="1.0"><dict>          <key>ProductBuildVersion</key>          <string>12D78</string>          <key>ProductCopyright</key>          <string>1983-2013 Apple Inc.</string>          <key>ProductName</key>          <string>Mac OS X</string>          <key>ProductUserVisibleVersion</key>          <string>10.8.3</string>          <key>ProductVersion</key>          <string>10.8.3</string></dict></plist>

We have thousand of people that participate on the forum on a given day. All have different interests and knowledge. The people that read your post may have no idea how to help. We are fellow users, not official Adobe support staff. Your original report didn't give people much to go on. As you now given us information like your OS, we can recommend the Reader/Acrobat Cleanup Tool that removes all traces of previous versions of the software for Windows users.

This frequently helps people that are having install issues on Windows. There is a separate forum where people that use FlashPlayer may be able to help you with your issue with that software.

    Hello
I just bought an Ipod as what tryingto get itunes to load for 5 hours last Friday night and another 4 hours on Saturday til my head exploaded
I then installed an older version of itunes and it worked but the new version didn't
In the end I re-installed XP home as a "repair" not clean install so that I wouldn't loose any work on my PC and within 40 minutes or so whatever was missing from my PC was installed and itunes 6 went on with no problem
My advise is don't go round the houses like I did, just "repair" your XP installation and it's done
Well, it did for me at least
