  • On some sites the following error message terminates the connection. Firefox.exe application error. The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000417) occurred in the application at location )x78579231.

    Internet Explorer does not balk on those same sites. Most sites do not cause the disconnect but on those that do I must revert to IE to complete the visit.

    Please reinstall Firefox as follows:<br><br>
    #Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0.1] and download a fresh installation file ''to the desktop'' using IE8.<br><br>
    #Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (''don't checkmark the box'').<br><br>
    #Next, reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox<br><br>
    #Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.<br><br>

  • RWRBE60.EXE - Application Error. The memory could not be written - URGENT !

    Hi,
    We are getting the error "RWRBE60.EXE - Application Error. The memory could not be written" in two of the 5 machines. That too, this error is encountered only some times and not always.
    Scenario: The report builder generates the .PDF file and places it in the network path. The report is called from the forms 6i. We are using the Report Builder - 6.0.8.20.1.
    This error is encountered in only 2 machines but not always.
    It's a critical release issue. Could any let us know the possible solution?
    Thanks,
    Uma

    Thanks. We can not re-install the report builder now. How do I check whether memory is sufficient or not?

    We're using WL 5.1.0 sp11 jvm version 1.2.2_007

    Try to get a higher version of WLS.

    Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

    I keep getting this error message every time I open certain sites such as Facebook, Wayfair, etc. I have uninstalled Flash many times and re-installed it many times but keep getting this message.

    I had the same problem.
    I went through the troubleshoot and it's not the extensions etc.
    The Adobe Flash Player Plugin version 11.9.900.117 seems to be the problem.
    Flash still plays fine, just the pop-up happens and not sure why.
    If it's annoying you, try installing the older version:
    Uninstal this version (v11.9), and re-install the older version (v11.8)
    You can find older versions on :
    ''http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html''
    To test this, I installed this version :
    ''(Released 9/10/2013) Flash Player 11.8.800.168 (156.2 MB)''
    It downloads a zip file, which contains 7 files, I ran the file :
    ''flashplayer11_8r800_168_win.exe''
    And now the pop-up does not happen.
    ==================================================
    Note 1: I did this:
    :1: uninstall v11.9
    :2: open firefox (so I'm opening up firefox without flash)
    :3: go to youtube = a popup to install flash appears, click to install
    The version it offered was not 11.9, but 11.8 : strange! why not v11.9?
    : anyway, if you try to install v11.8 this way, it always fails
    ==================================================
    Note 2:
    This problem only happens on my main home desktop and does not happen on my other machines (which all are Firefox Sync-ed, so all running same extensions etc...)
    Strange!

  • Safari for Windows:  WebKit2WebProcess.exe - Application Error

    Scratching my head over this one...
    Running the latest version of Safari 5 for Windows XP and after clicking the RSS feed icon in the address bar, Safari loads the page...and then hangs.  I'll close the application and receive the following notification window:
    WebKit2WebProcess.exe - Application Error
    Quote
    The exception unknown software exception (0xc00000fd) occured in the application at location 0x00ce30f8.  Click OK to terminate the program.
    Norton is installed on this machine (No arguments, please).  Also using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware.  I'm currently performing scans...starting with Malwarebytes.  Not sure if its an infection but, it sure behaves like it may be.
    Also...I do not have an issue using RSS feeds with any other browser.
    Any suggestions?
    Edit...
    Just finished the quick scans with all programs listed above.  No threats detected.

    And Symantec and users say it is safe and fine to run multiple security suites I suppose too. There are reasons why you hear a thunderous number of people... I own and used a bunch and while they improve... even Kaspersky is no longer on my systems and replaced with Microsoft's own Security Essentials along with IE10 and Windows 8 CP.
    Safari has never been a good multithreaded app, not on Windows or Mac OS.
    There are some Google hits but then this is XP which if memory serves, was hard to maintain it and registry or without reinstall every 6-12 months.
    I ran into "TDSS rootkit" or infected photos on Tumblr and in the end, the drive needed to be reformatted. I could not even install a new OS on another drive with that drive still active.

    On startup I get a nimax.exe application error.
    The instruction at "0x1ce30df7" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".
    This happens every time I start the computer, run a vi with the initialize.vi or try to use the measurement and automation explorer.
    I am running windows XP, Labview 7.1,  and max 3.1.1

    I had a similar problem in win2000 / max 3.1.1.  I do not recall the exact memory location error.
    It happened every time I started the computer, or once started, evrytime I load a vi that has some daqmx functionlity.
    I reinstalled windows / Nidaq, and never had the error again.

    What happens when I run setup.exe is the following:
    selecting Oracle Home -->
    Choosing Oracle Repository and Designer Install Wizard -->

    accepting default specifying behaviour -->
    accepting default Customization options -->
    accepting default options for import/export tools -->

  • JFileChooser causes "java.exe - Application Error"

    Hi,
    When I'm closing an JFileChooser dialog (by e.g. pressing ok or cancel) a second or so later my JVM terminates with the error message "java.exe - Application Error. The instruction at "0*6d0ea46e" referenced a memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to treminate the program".
    I turned on verbose output from the JVM and the last printout was:
    [Loaded javax.swing.Autoscroller from C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\jre\lib\rt.jar]
    [Dynamic-linking native method sun.awt.windows.WComponentPeer.removeNativeDropTarget ... JNI]
    result 1
    [Dynamic-linking native method sun.awt.windows.WFramePeer.getState ... JNI]
    [Loaded java.awt.EventDispatchThread$StopDispatchEvent from C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\jre\lib\rt.jar]
    [Dynamic-linking native method sun.awt.windows.WToolkit.shutdown ... JNI]
    No exception is shown.
    I have uninstall all old JVMs and reinstalled JDK 5.0. This does not help.
    This simple program causes the termination of the JVM:
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    System.out.println("0");
    JFileChooser fileChooser = new JFileChooser();
    System.out.println("1");
    int result = -2;
    try {
    result = fileChooser.showOpenDialog(null);
    } catch (HeadlessException e1) {
    e1.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println("result " + result);
    try {
    Thread.sleep(5000);
    } catch (InterruptedException e) {
    // TODO Auto-generated catch block
    e.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println("2");
    I receive the printout "result" but not "2".
    I appriciate any help!
    BR
    /Marcus

    No, this is very bad. Any time you see a message like this mentioning a memory address, it means that java, not you, has crashed. There's no way for you to fix this. The only thing you can try is to work around it.
    My suggestions:
    1. Report it to Sun. Make sure you include your system info (processor, memory, computer manufacturer) and what version of java you're using
    2. Try downloading and installing a different version of java
