"flashresources.dll is missing"

I have downloaded the Trial version of Adobe Flash CS5 Professional, and after installing and opening the program for the first time, get the error message "The FlashResources.dll is missing. Please reinstall Flash."
After looking a bit, I found that the .exe that opens Flash is located in C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Flash CS5/, and flashresources.dll is also in the same location.
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium, and have tried reinstalling several times. No luck. I've searched up similar topics about "flashresources.dll is missing" but those suggest that either the .exe or the flashresources.dll was in a strange location that the .exe could not detect it. My issue lies in the fact that I literally have the two files right next to each other, yet Flash CS5 refuses to open.
Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

After reinstalling, found that the flashresources.dll file I was referring to was one I had previously downloaded in an earlier reinstall attempt. A full computer search did not produce a find for the file that should have been installed with flash.

  • (CS5) Missing flashresources.dll

    So I downloaded Flash CS5 as a trial a few days ago because I wanted to try it out.
    When I tried to open it, it came up with "The FlashResources.dll is missing. Please reinstall". I did reinstall.. 3 times. Still the same problem. I decided to take matters into my own hands and download the FlashResources.dll file from google and download it. I put it into me \system32 file and ran ' regsvr32 flashresources.dll ' but then it said "DllRegisterServer entry point not found".
    I'm stumped. I've been trying to merely get this program open for days and it seems like it's impossible.
    I have looked for solutions and can not find them. I have searched pretty much everywhere on google and I have come up empty. Can anyone help?

    Hey duffed, I actually found out the solution to my problem. Upon downloading over and over again the trial, I realized that every time I downloaded it said something along the lines of "Download not complete - error. Please restart your computer and try again. "  but the Flash file was still created so I didn't care about it. Actually, I did try and restart my computer but it came to the same result. Finally I did restarted again, and did nothing on the computer except for download the trial, no surfing the web, no logging on MSN, nothing. I surfed the web while waiting the other times, so this was new. This time it successfully worked and the file could open! However, upon finishing hours of work on my flash, it came to the dreaded "Unexpected file format".. I'm never using Adobe Flash CS5 again.

  • Missing FlashResources.dll file CS5

    I read the other post and still having problems finding the flashresources.dll file for flash professional cs5.

    I finally got this to work after much googling and many reinstall attempts - I had originally downloaded CS5 Design Premium and the install folder was located on my desktop - I moved it to the root of my C-Drive. Right-clicked on setup.exe and ran as administrator.  It FINALLY installed!  I seem to remember I had a similiar issue years back when I installed CS3...  Hope this helps.

  • Jabber 9.7 gdiplus.dll is missing

    Hello,
    We are running jabber 9.7 for windows and we have a small problem that is difficult to reproduce consistently. Some of our users, when they start up their computers, sometimes they receive a message "GDIPLUS.dll is missing" and the Jabber application fails to start. This does not happen every time they boot their computer, but it is annoying.
    If they try afterwards to start Jabber manually, the application starts correctly. I'm thinking that the issue is related to the timing of application/system startup but not sure.
    The PCs are running windows 7
    Nothing is written in the Jabber log file, probably the error occurs too early
    Any clues?
    Thanks,
    John

    Started a Itunes software update this morning which didn't work.  Now Itunes will not open at all.  I get the following message."The program can't state becasue MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer."

    There are a couple of options that I know of to fix the issue.
    One is listed in this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606478#24606478 - and involves uninstalling iTunes and related components and then re-installing iTunes.  You will need to read the instructions in the thread to see the correct uninstall order.
    Second option is use System Restore to set your system back to a date prior to the iTunes update.  I did this before finding the thread mentioned above.
    Not sure exactly what the problem is but I know, after a search, that MSVCR80.dll was indeed already installed on my computer.

    Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

    Hi 49balf,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    I recommend removing and reinstalling iTunes using these steps:
    Check for .dll files
    Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
    If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
    Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
    Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
    Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    You can find the article with these steps and more information here:

  • HT201210 After downloading latest version of iTunes it will not open.  This error message is displayed;  The program can't star because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.  Then a second error box

    After iTunes requested that I download latest version on PC it now will not open.  2 error messages appear.  first:  The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.  second:  iTunes was not installed correctly please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).  I have tried reinstalling a number of times and restarting computer but no luck.

    This happened to me today as well post installing the latest version of itunes.   I did a search on google for the error and came across a recommendation to :
    Note: Start Windows in Safe Mode to complete any of the following steps if you're unable to access Windows normally due to the msvcr80.dll error.
    If, and only if, you're receiving the msvcr80.dll is missing error when you open Apple iTunes, do the following: (skip this step if your msvcr80.dll error is occurring with a different program)
    Uninstall from Windows the following five programs in this order: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, and finally Apple Application Support. If you have iCloud, remove it as well.
    Uninstalling these programs in Windows is done from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
    Note: Songs and playlists in iTunes will not be removed when you uninstall the iTunes program or any of the other, already-mentioned Apple programs. If you'd still like to back them up, they're usually located in the My Music folder in Windows.
    Download the latest version of iTunes from Appleand note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
    Run the iTunes installation as an administrator. If you're not sure how to do that, see How Do I Open an Elevated Command Prompt? for help. That procedure shows you how to open the Command Prompt program as an administrator, but the steps are essentially the same for anything, including the iTunes installation package you just downloaded.
    A general overview of removing and reinstalling iTunes can also be found here on Apple's site but the above procedure seems to work better in this particular situation.

  • When installing itunes get error "program can't start because msvcr80.dll is missing

    I cancelled the installation of the latest version of iTunes on my Windows PC and when attempting to reinstall it, I now get a message that "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem." Reinstalling the program does not fix the problem. Repairing the installation does not fix the problem. A search shows the "missing" file does exist in the MSOCache directory.

  • When opening iTunes I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled, reinstalled many times - nothing! help please.

    When opening iTunes on my new Windows 7 PC I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times to no avail, even tried it on a different user account and still nothing. I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2012 (about 12 days ago), initially iTunes worked fine as usual but within the last few days I've been  unable to open it with the same messages appearing. I've read through some of these pages and tried everything that's been advised, uninstalling and reinstalling while internet and laptop security is swithched off, downloading tools to completely remove anything related to iTunes, tried it in Safe Mode, nothing has worked. I've also noticed that in the start menu when I click on iTunes, it says '(empty)' where it should have the logo and ability to start the program, does this mean it doesn't download + install properly each time I've tried? Any help would be enormously appreciated.

  • Loading assemblies using Reflection when dependant dlls are missing.

    Hello All,
    I've created a sample WinForms application where I upload a dll (present in my local machine).
    I just need to read the public types (classes) defined in the assembly. So I've used the ExportedTypes property.
    When the dependant dlls are present in my machine, I'm able to read the public types of the assembly using the ExportedTypes property.But when the dependant dlls are not available in my machine, I get the following error:
    "Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information."
    Please let me know how to overcome this problem even when the dependant dlls are missing.
    NOTE: When the same dll, is looked upon using  ILDASM.exe we are able to view its classes, even when the dependant dlls are not present.

    Hi Darin,
    Thanks again.!!
    I'm having trouble reading a COM dll.
    I'm using following code  and using the LoadTypeLib method to fetch the dlls ITypeLib.
    [DllImport("oleaut32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Unicode, PreserveSig = false)]
            static extern ITypeLib LoadTypeLib(string szFile);
    I'm able to get the classes/ProgIds. But I need to fetch only those classes which implement a particular interface. I tried using the following code to fetch the implemented interface, but its not successful for the case where multiple classes implementing
    that interface
    var typeLibrary = LoadTypeLib(openFileDialog1.FileName);
    int typeCount = typeLibrary.GetTypeInfoCount();
    for (int i = 0; i < typeCount; i++)
    System.Runtime.InteropServices.ComTypes.TYPEKIND TKind;
    System.Runtime.InteropServices.ComTypes.IMPLTYPEFLAGS implInterface;
    typeLibrary.GetTypeInfoType(i, out TKind);
    if (TKind == System.Runtime.InteropServices.ComTypes.TYPEKIND.TKIND_COCLASS)
    Type objType = typeLibrary.GetType();
    Type objInterface = objType.GetInterface("IMyInterface", true);
    try
     obj.GetImplTypeFlags(i, out Interfa);
